Hi all,

I was wondering if you might be able to help me make my daughters birthday at Disneyland as special as it can be. I wanted to find out special things that we can do or that might be available to her on her birthday.

I know about the free entry on a birthday (as we have a hopper pass I think she will choose a Disney Gift Card instead). I know to go and get a birthday button or something and I also know about the birthday party thing where you go and make a cake with all the other birthday people. We will be doing all these things but I was wondering if there is any other birthday related stuff besides these that I don't know about.

Any help would be very much appreciated as we are flying halfway around the world for this and I want to make it as special as can be.

Thanks heaps

You can buy her a treasure chest at any table service restaurant, it's got a small cake in it. :) Everyone will be wishing her a Happy Bday too!

Free tortillas when you go on the tortilla tour at DCA. And depending on your daughters age, I so suggest going to City Hall in Disneyland and getting her Birthday phone call from Goofy. It's free and lots of fun!

Hi all,

I also know about the birthday party thing where you go and make a cake with all the other birthday people.

We'll be celebrating DS's 9th birthday at DL. Could you please direct me to where I can find info about the making the cake thing? Thanks.

Dollarmite, I think it is called a Pat-e-cake birthday celebration or something to that effect. It costs about $10 and it's kind of like a birthday party type thing.

Each of the kids get a blank cake and icing and bits and pieces so they can decorate it themselves. I think Mickey and maybe Minnie and some other characters come and meet you and sing happy birthday and stuff. I think you also get a drink with a souvenir cup to take home. Sounds like fun and a good photo op anyway.

I have never been but this is what I understand it to be from reading the spiel about it.

I think you can find info about it on the Disneyland website.

Thanks, aussiegirl and Gisele. :)

This sounds like an activity that we'll definitely be looking into when we go.

Just in case you missed it in Gisele's post, the birthday party thing is more than $10.

Priority Seating can be arranged at Plaza Inn, City Hall, Guest Relations information kiosks and by phone.
Price: $15.99 per person

We've done one birthday and soon will be celebrating another there, for my son, and he likes the birthday button, we enjoyed the pack of tortillas, and other than that he's just been so happy to BE there that we haven't needed to do extra stuff. Not to say we're not trying...they have a "Knight's Package" at the new Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique that I think he'll like (and even if he doesn't, it comes with a sword and shield that he "needed" anyway, LOL), and we'll be sure to have mickey mouse pancakes at RiverBelle Terrace that morning. And that giftcard is going to be great for him to get a few things he's been wanting since he was 3.5 now...we're strict with toys' age recommendations, and a few things are for 5 year olds, so he's going to go crazy with that giftcard. :goodvibes

Oh and we're going to have a dessert at haagen dazs, b/c we can "trust" their ice cream to at least have an ingredient list so we can make sure it's safe for him (he can't have corn syrup or high fructose corn syrup, and that's harder than it should be at DLR and in this country, actually)...it'll be a pretty big treat, since we rarely have desserts out...if he has a reaction it really ruins the next few hours and then he doesn't sleep until midnight or so...so having a big cone of safe ice cream will be nice. :goodvibes

So those are just a couple things that should make DS's day even more special than just being at DLR will be. Hope it helps give you some sort of idea!
