hello, I know if anyone can help me with this , it will be all of you!

My DS will have a birthday at Disney -- we'll be staying at the POP -- and we'll be in Magic Kingdom on his bday.

We're on a limited budget and I cannot order a $75 dollar cake.

Any ideas on a dessert or a piece of cake or a small cake -- anything I can do to help celebrate his special day?

what have you done on your kids' birthdays?

Thanks for you help!

If you will be driving you could order one from Publix or somewhere, but most of the TS meals will bring him a cup cake or something to celebrate. I know that they did for a child who was with us for his birthday. ;)

Be sure to get a Birthday button from Guest Relations, they are free.

I'm sure you can buy him a slice of cake from the menu at just about any restaurant, even the CS ones have dessert. Maybe bring a candle and get him his own dessert and sing for him. I'll bet others will join in.

When we celebrated DD's birthday at Chef Mickey's, they brought out a special cupcake for the birthday girl for free. It worked out great because DH and I were too stuffed for cake by then anyway. :lmao:

I believe there is a cake thread in the Disney Restaurant section. It has a phone number for all the restaurants, so that you can order a cake. They have pictures there of the most beautiful cakes I ever saw!! They run anywhere from like $35 to $95. We are doing this for my DD 10th birthday.
HTH

If you are not doing a TS meal, perhaps he would enjoy picking out a special treat at the Main Street Bakery. Extra fun if you surprise hime w/a candle in it! Have fun!

Isn't DISNEY now doing a small cake lik eunder 20, you call CAKE HOTLINE at disney and order 48 hours in advance, 407-827-2253. SOmeone has another thread and JUST posted this, I wrote it down but have not called yet, perhpas I will next week to get prices/confirm them.
Good Luck!
If not, how about a trip to DTD where he can make his OWN birthday surprise snack at Goofys Candy Company, fun AND not expensive!!
Good Luck and HAPPY BIRTHDAY in advance! :wizard:

The food court at Pop sells a jumbo cupcake that is really good! You could bring along your own candles.

There is a Pirate Treasure Chest cake at TS resturants that runs $15. I have the princess version on reservation for our DD's birthday dinner in EPCOT next week. I don't think it is very big but she will be thrilled and it won't bust the budget!
There are pictures on the cake chatter thread and can be found on the WDW web site.
Good luck!

Like others have said, most table service will bring you a cupcake for dessert for the birthday boy. We had my son's bday at crystal palace, and I had ordered a small cake for about 15$ before hand just by calling the dining reservation number. But because it was a buffet, we didn't eat too much of it, and next time I would just do the cupcake. The pirate treasure chest cake sounds cool.

We were in MK on my brother's bday also. We had lunch at Crystal Palace and it was very good! When we got there, our table was decorated for a birthday. It even had Mickey confetti! They gave him a pin to wear that said "It's My Birthday!". Then the waiter brought him a cupcake with a candle and the whole restraunt sang happy birthday while the characters danced around the room with signs that said "IT's my special day!". When we got back to our room at POP later that night, there was a balloon and a card signed by all the characters on the bed. There was also a message on the phone left by Mickey saying happy birthday. It was so cool! :thumbsup2
