birth certificates

I know that we will not need passports for July, but if I order certified birht certificates, will that work? I've heard stories of people not having the correct docs.

You need a birth certificate not any other type of birth document will not work. A birth certificate is issued by a government agency (county or state) not a hospital.

So if you have a birth certificate for every member of your party (including children) along with a photo ID (driver's license etc.) for every adult member of the party you will be fine at least for this year. Probably not next year.

Just a note: Most states, not all from what I've read, have a raised seal on the birth certificates and that raised seal is IMPORTANT. Copies are generally not accepted. I would recommend calling whereever you ordered birth certs from and asking about the raised seal.

A lot of states have abandoned raised seals in favor of printing the Birth Certificates on special paper (like a stock certificate is printed on). It MUST be an original not a photocopy and needs to have a seal, or say "Certified Copy".
