If you can bear one more birth certificate question-- My one son has a birth certificate with a raised seal, but his seal is from the township he was born in, not the state. All of the rest of it is normal, stating " Birth Registration Certificate" at the top and "State of New Jersey" at the bottom. Will this be sufficient for the Cruise?

Yes as log as it is a raised seal.
All of my certs were issued by the town also, and they are fine.

Just curious if anyone knows about the Virginia seal since they are not raised anymore? Will it be a problem, got to take what the State gives us.

It has to be the official seal of the state (government agency), raised, ink, whatever... as long as it is NOT a photo copy, and not a birth certificate from a hospital.

Thank you for the replies. I called DCL just to be safe and they told me that the city seal was as acceptable as the state seal. I think that when you apply for a passport, you must have the state seal in order to get a passport.l The CM that I spoke with told me he has cruised 8 times and always used the hospital birth certificate with the footprints on it and never had a problem.

My DH is from Virginia, we had no problem with getting on the ship with his birth certificate.
Have a great time.
