Hello,

I cam across an ad for bipbop.com, a DVC rental website. It seems relatively new (August 2018) and there is a Black Friday promo right now for 10% off. Does anybody know if this website is legitimate? They say they have PayPal protection and also renter protection. Should I book through them? There is an amazing deal I found... hope it is not too good to be true.

Thank you!!

Might be ok but why risk it when there are reputable businesses to deal with?

You know what they say about deals like that...:)

I like the idea of it (if it actually works) as it appears that it is attempting to provide current availability which would make it much easier for renters to see what is actually available. Dynamic pricing is interesting as well. I just don't know if I would want to be one of the guinea pigs on this.

If it is too good to be true, more than likely is it too good to be true. Just go with one of the bigger, more reliable companies.

There is no such thing as PayPal protection for a timeshare rental transaction. Huge red flag.

It is PayPal terms that say they don't protect anything timeshare or real estate.

I know David's DVC is reputable. Which other ones are? We are thinking of submitting a request in the next week or two for next fall and want research.

Has anyone had any luck with Bipbop? The dynamic pricing makes a lot of sense but with a business like this they need bodies and there's a bit of a chicken and egg issue. I've noticed they have a 5% payout bonus for DVC memebers renting their points out if they wait until check-in to receive any cash which likely doesn't bode well for their credit risk.

They still say they have paypal renter protection, so they still don’t know their business. Timeshare transactions are not protected with PayPal. Paypal’s page covering real estate and related topics actually says such transactions are not even allowed.

For me nothing else matters since they are getting that so wrong.

Cute website though.
