On the recent podcast, a listener was looking of a biography of Walt that would be appropriate for a teen or tween. Kevin was stumped (hard to believe, I know! :rotfl2: ).

I have one. My 4th grader just finished the following:

Walt Disney: A Biography by Barbara Ford
Copyright 1989.

My son reads at a level higher than 4th grade, so I would say that this book is appropriate for grades 6 and up. It is about 150 pages, has some great historical photos in it, and was able to hold his interest.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Erika - my 5th grader might be interested in this, and she reads at a very high level too. Hey are you coming to cheer us on in the Muddy Buddy? I'd love to meet you in person.

We have one, too. "Walt Disney Young Movie Maker" by Marie Hammontree. It's geared for 8-12 yr olds and is 192 pages long. DD used it in 3rd grade when she had to do a report on a famous inventor.

Thanks for those suggestions. (It was me:wave2:) I will try to find both of them when we hit the bookstore this weekend.
We have looked at a few that are geared for 6-12 year olds but the problem is she is 13 and in a Pre-AP class. So those tend to be a VERY easy read and I don't know if the teacher will go for them.
