sheesh, brand new thread, I think I have stage fright....

'k, I had a vbg, vertically banded gastroplasty, 2 years past october! I've lost 98lbs, but I'm wanting to lose around 75-90 more!

I've stalled, I've been within a half pound for the last year! this is great, I've never maintained before, but hey, maintaining is boring, I want a thrill ride :teeth:

so... I bought some atkins shakes and snacks!

I try to stay under 600-700kcal a day (fear not, my body has long since adjusted!) and very low carb.

eh, started two days ago, but only had the courage to weigh today, it's so scary.

today I am 20st, 9lb or 289lb :scared1:

I want to lose at least 1lb a week in the run up to our trip in '07 as dh loves to go horseriding, I do too, I want to surprise him with a trail ride!

lunch/snack - low carb rolos 3.5gc 193kcal (but they last for a while, yay for many little treats!)

review of my day....

eh, so far so good, I might have had something else this evening but I ended up being sick after eating a piece of chicken tikka, now I'm thinking I'll just have a herbal tea later.

I think I might experiment with freezing an atkins shake in a popsicle mold, I like something sweet in the evenings, a bar feels like a meal when what I fancy is dessert.

soup, any good, low carb (but not necesarily low cal, I'm on very tiny portions) cheese soups out there? I keep seeing them with brocoli in :sad2:

no exercise today, apart from shopping, cleaning, etc.... tommorow I am going to try and get to my bodypump class, I may not make it as ds (in my case dear sister, no kids as yet) needs a lift.

positive thought! (just call me springer) I love keeping a food journal, it's easier to be good if I know I'm going to have to post my cheats!

my day!

no bodypump, ds needed a lift to the rubbish dump, then to the shops... I did get some exercise running around with the stuff she was getting rid of though.

I ate/drank an extra shake tonight, I'm pretty hungry and craving some mashed potato! what I'm going to have however is a nice glass of sugar free bitter lemon drink.

positive thought! today was hard, tommorow has the potential to be better!

well, I'm seriously hormonal, craving bread, sugar, potatoes and chocolate. My theory is I'm letting myself have extra snack, but at least they're low carb/cal, not like blowing the budget on a bar of chocolate or ice cream.

positive thought, I'm more controlled than I once was.

I love your journal! I don't understand the measures that well, but I think it is great that you are being so disciplined about writing down everything you eat!

I find writing things down is the best way to make real changes, if I have to document it I dont cheat!

the measures are kcal - calories and cg - carb grams, it's just a way for me to keep track of what's going in!

I'm looking forward to (nervously) weighing on saturday, I tend to get obsessed with scales so I'm being really disciplined at the moment!

review!! not felt like this for a couple of days, my total have been up for two days, totm causing cravings, on the bright side I'm not giving in to big carbs/sugary snacks. I'm closing my kitchen tonight right now at 7:08pm! just nice cold water and some bitter lemon now.

woah, yesterday went so badly wrong, just, wow. we ended up spending most of the night at the hospital with dh, a suspected dvt (again) then seizures (stress/no sleep = badness)

low carb went out the window, got home, drank some milk, ate some rice cereal mush and went to bed.
 
today has not been any better, I'm taking the day off journalling my food choices as it's bad, real bad.

however, this is it, no messing tommorow, back to good choices and writing things down.

focus today has been on dh, getting him comfy, drinking enough water, dealing with the dr's and sorting things out here.


I never did update my dr appointment! we're talking about revising my vbg to either an adjustable lap band or gastric bypass, I'm leaning towards the bypass although it's a bigger op.

in the meantime (three months till next appt) I'll be starting xenical/orlistat.
