The plans

This trip has a lot of firsts in it thrown in with things we liked so much we had to do them over again.

We will start with the firsts…

First time renting DVC points, we are staying at the Boardwalk Villas December 1st – 6th. I will be completely honest in my review of the rental process and how we liked the resort when we get back. - I will say I am nervous about this since I don't have "control" over the reservation. I do like the fact that we can't move the dates around or change the resort, it makes us stick with our decision and that is a good thing.

First time going to “Dine with the Imagineer”, Bill has wanted to do this for so long and we have ended up cancelling it every time for one reason or another. - There are 3 imagineers we saw at the D23 Destination D event and we would be thrilled if one of them was the "Imagineer". I asked them on Twitter if they participated in the program and they said they did . I can hope .

First time doing breakfast reservations, we are trying Akershaus and the Cape May Café. - Since we are staying at Boardwalk Villas, these restaurants are within easy walking/boating distance. It was always hard to think of changing busses to get to a morning reservation with the wheelchair and Bill didn't want to deal with it.

First time for the deluxe dining plan (only doing it for the Boardwalk portion of the trip). - Bill loves the idea of trying more and more places .

First time for new restaurants for us - Yachtman’s Steakhouse, California Grill, Garden Grill, Cinderella’s Royal Table, and Kona Café breakfast. - We wanted to branch out a bit and not go to the same places over and over again.

First time staying at 3 resorts on the same trip, yes 3 – Boardwalk Villas, Pop Century, and the Grand Floridian. I will have to explain how the Grand Floridian worked its way in there in the next installment. - Can you believe Bill talked me into this??

First time for me saying I might, possibly, maybe go up in Characters in Flight with Bill if it is not too cold and I get brave enough. - I am already starting to chicken out on this one .

First time for scheduled sleep ins and park free days. - I stated that if we were going to be there for that long we didn't have to kill ourselves racing to the parks every day.

Things we are doing over again:

Restaurants we just have to go to every trip – 50’s Prime Time Café, Tutto Italia, Ohana, and LeCellier.

Events we love – MVMCP possibly twice, the Candlelight Processional, and D23’s Magic and Merriment - Bill insisted.

Resort hopping to see the Christmas decorations, we just love to see how wonderful all the resorts look.

Seeing the Holidays around the World at Epcot, we hope to see all the characters this trip, it will be easy to do if it isn’t freezing again.

We are staying 13 days this trip and buying annual passes again since we already have a trip booked for May and it looks like we are going back in December 2012.

Why December 3 years in a row? Because Toni, Oregonmommyof2 and her family are supposed to meet us in our happy place !!! She wants us to get through this trip quickly so we can start planning for next December.

How can I miss someone so much when I have only met her in person once ? She is one of my best friends and I just adore her . I can’t wait to see her again!!!

Wow, sounds like so much fun! The Grand Floridian?! WOW!! This is going to be an epic trip, I can tell. Christmas time at WDW is so pretty, and dining with an Imagineer would be so awesome. This is going to be an excellent TR later on.

we have rented points on 3 dif. trips. we did rent from friends. well, mor elike aqauintences (the way we met him is he was our divorce lawyer). anyhow, the thing we don't like about it is what you said.. no control... you can't "tinker", and you know how nebo likes to tinker with trip plans.
but you'll love being so close to epcot! cant' wait to hear about it

I didn't rent directly from a member, I used a business. Actually this trip is one DVC rental company and the trip in May we rented from a different company. I thought why not try experiences from both to see which we like better.

Wow!! You have an awesome trip planned. I will be interested to hear how the DVC rental goes. We hope to go to the flower and garden festival in the spring and I was kicking around the idea of renting points... Hope you have good weather. We were there in the begining of Dec. last year and it was COLD!! Can't wait to hear all about your trip! Hope you both have a very happy thanksgiving!
