Where in the World will we be?? - Our Itinerary
Hi, I am Tracy a Walt Disney World addict, Bill my significant other introduced me to the most wonderful place in the world in February 2006 and I was instantly hooked. We are headed back in 14 days for our 10th trip together.
Bill has Cerebral Palsy and uses a power wheelchair and I am super pooh sized, so we sometimes feel like we dont fit in when we are in the real world. People judge people, it is just a fact of life. They judge Bill thinking he has a mental disability, so some of them like to talk to him like he is about 3
. How silly they would feel if they knew he had 3 college degrees and a Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Administration. He has also taught himself web design and is working on his 5th website, this one is for our city's park district. With me, they see my size and think I am lazy. I notice some people avoid eye contact and dont want to be close to me, maybe they think my fat is contagious
. Here is a picture of us:
When we are in WDW, people are friendly, most of them are happy
, we have a common bond, our love for Disney
. People say hello, people smile, people ask how your day is going, it is another world. The castmembers are so amazing, they talk to Bill, not at him, which we really appreciate. They smile and talk to me too. We love the fact that our cares and worries melt away when we ride the Magical Express and see the Walt Disney World sign. We count the days until our next trip.
There were many times this fall I didnt think our trip would happen, between me having the flu twice the horrible feeling like you are dying lying in bed for a week flu, having some issues with my right leg, and having depression over some family issues I thought this trip just wasnt meant to happen. Even today I wonder what else is going to pop up, but I have to believe, I have to remember to think positively, fate will step in to see me though. I cant wait to feel how amazing it will be to see this again:
There are two things that are worrying us a little bit:
1) The weather, last year we had a couple of wonderful days at the beginning of the trip then it was C O L D, especially for Bill who is cold all the time. We braved through the wind to watch the fireworks and parades, but we would prefer not to have chattering teeth while watching the Christmas parade or seeing Illuminations. We just wrapped Bill up and dealt with it.
2) Leaving our furbaby Ace, we just hate not having him with us. He is a 7 year old Jack Russell/Rat Terrier. He is the alpha in the house, one look or sigh out of him and we are mush in his little paws. Here he is after we picked him up from the boarders on our first trip in 2006:
I hope things go well this trip, we need some carefree happiness.
