Week 8 is here - I can barely believe I've been doing this challenge for 7 weeks. That might be a personal best, usually by now I've quit and decided it wasn't worth it. Thanks to everyone for your support and posts - every single person has contributed to my success :grouphug: I hope I 've been able to help some of you out too.

On to the weigh in...please let me know if I've missed anyone! I'll highlight you in purple once you've been updated...Also, please post your total loss since the challenge began and I'll get that updated. What an awesome group!! :thewave:

I went for a 1 hour walk yesterday instead of going to join the gym. I guess it was good that I exercised but I really need to get to the gym as it is starting to get cold here and I need something more than just walking. I guess that I am just putting it off because I am so out of shape and feel like I don't belong with all the others that are in such great shape. I know that is really dumb and when I start going I will be in better shape but still I keep saying that today is the day and I still don't go.

My total since starting the challenge is 16 lbs. :cheer2:

Ann Marie

Ann Marie, that's not dumb at all, I think a lot of us feel like that. I know I do! Some gyms are better than others and have mostly people who want to get in shape. Others you have to put on make up and do your hair and buy a new outfit before you go. Not quite my thing there - if I get make up and my hair done before I go to Wal-Mart it's a good day! :rotfl2: Have you checked the gyms out? Do you have a Curves in your area, or maybe another women's only gym? They might help you feel more comfortable. You're doing fantastic job on your own - whatever you doing it's working!

Okay I'm obviously post-happy today :teeth: on to our weekly challenges! The Halloween candy challenge helped me a LOT last week, although I have to confess to finding a loop-hole (end of confession). Personally I'd like to keep the "just say no" challenge going. Anyone up for an exercise challenge? Can we get a volunteer to keep track of exercise minutes for the week? Water drinking challenge? I'm up for anything! :Pinkbounc

After hearing about the song "Proud" on the BL show I finally downloaded and WOW that is a powerful song! I can see why you love it Mike. So the question to ask yourself today is...

What have you done today to make you feel proud?

Ann Marie - 16 pounds for the challenge is wonderful. Keep up the great work. I know what you mean about feeling out of shape. As Jennifer said check into Curves or an all female gym, you would probably feel more comfortable. Several years ago I belonged to a small all female gym and loved it. I went every day without fail. Then they decided to expand and built a bigger building and made it co-ed, I think I went once after that and never went back. It definitely made a differnce in the way I felt. I have also gone to Curves and loved it, unfortunately they closed the one here in my small town for lack of business.

Good luck!!!

Good morning. Today I did the Firm Ultimate Calorie Blaster, so not my favorite. It's 45 min. I kept up better today, some of the moves I don't have down yet. But I did all the tall box climbs (14 inch step). That's something I've been working toward. I was slower than they are but I finished.

I think I need a challenge. I was doing 6 days of exercise but the last few weeks I've only done 5. I've not had quite enough water the past few days either.

On my way to read aloud at ds' school. Talk to you all later.

Marty

I think overall I'm down 5.2 with this week's 1.2 loss.

I've been so bad since the end of last week. :guilty: I'm scared to even step on the scale so I don't know if I've gained or not. My clothes still fit the same though so I'm calling it even. LOL

Great job to the losers and those who are sticking with their exercise. I really need to get back on program. I feel so much better when I exercise and stick with my WOE. Someone please come slap me!

DH is traveling all week next week so I should be able to stick to my WOE. I plan on doing real good. We both love food so he's an enabler. He doesn't mean to be, but he is.

Hi all!

Jennifer - Glad you got the song!! It totally gets me going and hits me in the heart! :)

Ann Marie - Wow, 16 pounds that is awesome! Good work!

Heck good work to everyone!!! You all are such a big group of Losers!!! :earboy2: (Said with love of course! hehe)

I just went back and tracked it, and I am down 27lbs so far for the challenge. Can you believe we are nearing the end??? The finale is just a few weeks away, this has been such a great challenge! After the Biggest loser ends NBC is bringing back Fear Factor, should we do a WISH Fear Factor challenge after this one with a different weekly "challenge" (nothing gross like the show, I mean more like a water challenge, exercise challenge, share a healthy recipe week, etc.)?? hehe :)

Have a great day everyone!
Mike :)

I love that idea Mike! No eating beets or anything though...I'll lose that challenge! Wow - 27 pounds! :earseek: I'll bet it was nice to see that number added up huh? But don't go spending that prize money yet - the challenge isn't over! :cool1:

Sheila - okay we'll go with even. :) What's WOE?

I just finished my second project, one to go but that's for next week. So now I'm off to exercise and that'll make me feel proud of myself. :teeth:

Have a great day everyone!

P.S. it's 11:30 - how much water have you drank today? :drinking1

i have had 2 bottles of water so far..and just finished doing about 25 minutes of exercise!
i cant blieeve i l have lost 7 pounds since this started!

Jen - Wow, 7 lbs and you wanted to withdraw yourself at the start because you didn't have a lot to lose! Look at you go! :) That is great!!!

As for me I have had 40oz of water so far and did 75 min of water aerobics this morning! Tomorrow I hit the weight room for the first time! :)

Have a good afternoon all!
Mike :goodvibes

I drink water out of a big insulated cup that holds about 64 oz. It's not empty yet but I'm working on it.

I just got a flylady email about the new habit for Nov. It's menu planning. Do you all plan what you're going to eat a week at a time? I have made menus out for a couple of months now. It's helped me spend less at the store. I only plan on 5 dinners though so I need to work up to 7. Tonight it's chicken pepper skillet, except we have leftover meatloaf for dh to eat so we're doing a pepper skillet over angel hair pasta. We're eating that pasta with protein and fiber in it.

On my way to school I got to see dh car odometer go to 222,222. I thought it was cool.

I was just joking about the water but since you guys are posting you have guilted me into drinking more. That's a good thing! :)

I used to plan our meals and it was much better for both calorie and financial reasons. I want to get back to it but I'm afraid that I'll go back to the way I used to cook and eat. Obviously that wasn't working for me! :) Do you have any suggestions? I saw on BL that Suzy was cooking some chicken that looked good, but how was she cooking it? Did she put some oil in the pan and cook it? I guess I didn't think that was healthy. Is it?

Mike - I'll bet you'll love the weights - you'll feel how strong you really are. pirate:

I did 40 minutes of exercise today and now I'm starting to feel sick...pixie dust please that I don't get sick! DD has a cheer competition 2 1/2 hours away this weekend. I missed the same one last year because I had a stomach thing. Maybe I'll drink some water and take it easy...

I'm counting on Mike for dinner suggestions!! :earboy2:

We've been eating a lot of vegetable soup lately. I throw some beef in there for dh. I could eat it every day! It has cabbage, green beans, potatos, carrots, onions and canned tomatos. You also add chicken or vegetable broth and cook in a crock pot all day. This week I'm trying to let my son pick a night so Monday was tomato soup and grilled cheese (with butter spray and 2% cheese). I had my sandwich toasted in the broiler instead.

Jennifer ~ My WOE is Weight Watchers.

Everyone is doing so well!! You guys rock!!! :rockband:

Jennifer - Thanks so much for keeping all these totals!! :cheer2:

This week I was even and I have lost 7.5 total.

I exercised 30 minutes today and am now going to go drink some water!!

Last night I made an easy dinner. I sauteed (sp?) some bite sized chicken pieces and then added two chopped green onions, two garlic cloves, cooked that for about 3 minutes, and then added broccoli and red pepper. I then cooked it until desired doneness and finished with a little bit of soy sauce.

Everyone have a great evening.

UGH! I didn't even realize we had a new thread. I'm not getting all the emails telling me when there's new posts

Anyway, I'm up 2.4 this morning  I did the 1 mile WATP for 20 mins this morning

Oops! I left town yesterday morning and didn't add my losts.....I lost 1.5 pds. this week! Yeah. Have a good week everyone! :earsgirl:

:goodvibes

Thanks Mike!! I honestly never thought i would lose this much!

MinnieMouseMom - how can you be up?! You are so consistent with your exercise. Did you have Chinese food or something? That's got to be coming off this week just like it came on! Stick with it and keep exercising and drinking your water. :grouphug: I don't get emails on new posts about 1/2 the time either.

Monte - congrats on your 1.5 pound loss!

K&K'sMommy - you're welcome. :)

Mountaineer - soup, that's a great idea! I think I'll do that. It sounds yummy. :goodvibes
