Biggest Loser "No Excuses" 2012 Team Challenge for Losers and Maintainers!!!

Well here's the deal...I probably will not be on here until the next challenge for summer starts :(

We are leaving for FL on Friday :cool1: but I have so much to do that I do not have time for the computer. I will try to remember to send my final weigh in on Thursday. I am not even doing HH habits this week, but I do want to thanks CC for the gift I received. It was so awesome!

I loved this challenge and loved keeping up with all of you. Thanks for all the support and I am going to try not to gain back everything I lost while strolling the World Showcase!! Hopefully, I will see you all in the summer challenge. Good luck with those final weigh ins!

Jill

Have a brilliant holiday:)

Pamela hope your son feels better soon.

Well done to everybody not only on the top 10 list but to all those who stuck with the challenge and didnt give up:thumbsup2 I look forward to seeing many of you on the summer challenge:)
Thanks to everyone who organised this one:worship:

Ahh!!! This is the last week of the challenge and I've been MIA for half of it!! :scared1: Oh well....I've been on plan for all of it, so that's a bonus! I must do better on the next challege. Checking in daily really helps to keep me on track and be more successful. I can't wait for the summer challenge!

Evening all!

Been a crazy few days with my parents here and working. Finally got on the elliptical tonight. Been raining all evening here. I had planned on walking this morning but thought it would be raining so I slept in.

Tomorrow is Ashleigh's 12th birthday. We will be eating take out for supper. Going to do errands with my Mom while the kids are at school. Ash doesn't get home until 430 and then we will go pick up supper. I need to go wrap her presents or part of them so she can open something before she leaves for school!

Time to head into bed so I can get some reading done as well!

When does this challenge officially end and when does the new one begin?
Do we have a thread yet?

The last weigh in is May 18. Our weightkeeper Sue will be on vacation that week - so final results may be late. I will be posting the all new Biggest Loser "Sizzlin' Hot Summer" Challenge on the same day.

Good Wednesday morning everyone.

Been pretty quiet here this week. I bought some flowers to put in this week. I found some beautiful zinnias and snapdragons. These are my favorite summer flowers. I will put them in this week.

Classes are pretty quiet this week. We are watching movies and there are several field trips this week and next.

Congrats to all the losers this week.

Have a happy and healthy day.

It looks like a few of us are headed to Disney this weekend! We are leaving Saturday! Who else? Kayla, Rose, Jill?

We will all be so skinny now tHat we are going post-challenge! Hehe

trina-:hug: You'll get back on track, we are all here rooting for you. Good luck on your job interview! :)

Nancy- :rotfl2: That was my plan way back in January!! We leave next Thursday but don't arrive in Orlando until Friday night!

Good morning!

Up really early, not sure why. Didn't go to sleep until late so I see a nap in my future. I hope it hasn't become a habit but I took a peek at the scale again this morning because I went nearly 1000 calories over than I usually do in a week and was shocked to still see more than a 1/2 lb loss. I just have to remember that I can cut myself some slack but I can't go into that mode of "well then a little more can't hurt."

Also, got a call about a job I applied for and I have an interview Thursday. Some pixie dust would be much appreciated, this is the perfect job for me and I've been trying to get it since high school. pixiedust:

My bff and I were invited to go on a trip to Italy and Spain next summer with a traveling group in town. We have never been out of the country (the farthest I've been is WDW and Mall of America) so we are obviously going to try and work our butts off to get to go. I cannot imagine how amazing it would be!

Hope you all have an amazing day! :goodvibes

Can't wait for the summer challenge! Thanks SO VERY MUCH for keeping us organized and on track!!

The flowers sound delightful. We order most of our annuals from a friend who runs an organic garden and greenhouse and they aren't available for pick-up until Memorial day weekend.

I'm sure that your AP students are appreciating the quiet week. DD has her last AP exam today, but things aren't quieting down at all for her! She has a big multi-genre project due in English, a speech due in Spanish, and some sort of persuasive argument type paper due in US History! Plus she has to have all of her "intent to study" papers in for her Senior project by Monday, and she still hasn't turned in all of the paperwork regarding the job shadow she did a few weeks ago! I see a busy weekend ahead for her! I SO wish the teachers would cut back at least a little bit right now!!

Good morning!

First of all.... prayers and PD coming for the job.

Second of all.... make that trip happen! It sounds so exciting and you know what? Take the advise of an old lady..... do it while you can! I grew up with VERY conservative parents (both fiscally and with life experiences) and was NEVER told "DO IT!" I was never encouraged to travel or try new experiences. I was taught to play it safe. And so now, here I am, a somewhat-frustrated wanna-be world traveler who, for the past 17 years has had neither the time or money to travel. WHY didn't I do it in my 20's?? Because no one ever told me I COULD! I have strongly encouraged both of my kids to take these adventures when they can! In fact, we are throwing around the idea of taking a 3+ week backpack type tour through Europe, just DD and myself, the year she finishes her undergraduate work. I'd love her to find a group of responsible, smart friends to do this with, but she claims she'd like to do it with me. This would be about 5 years from how, so it would be a great mid-50's birthday gift to myself and a college graduation gift for her.

If it is a matter of finances, I'm sure that you could probably find someplace in your current budget to save even just a few dollars a week to put away for this trip. In 2005 when we were trying to save for a trip out West (kind of last minute.... only had about 7 months to save), I made up posters for around the house to remind EVERYONE what we were saving for...... I reminded them about EVERY LITTLE THING..... printing too much "junk" from the computer, using too many paper towels when they dry their hands, too much take-out coffee/soda, eating cheaper meals (such as meatless), saving on the electric bill by shutting off lights, saving on the oil by turning down the heat, etc. I put everything in the context of what would be saved (for example.... saving one roll of paper towels a week = $1 saved) and what that money could go towards ($1 = 4 tokens for an arcade at Disneyland)..... or even bigger stuff (bring coffee from home instead of stopping at Dunkins 5 x week for 1 month = $40 saved = 1 adult dinner meal at Goofy's Kitchen).

Sorry to ramble here on you. Just want to encourage you to make this happen!

*****************

Happy cloudy Wednesday friends! DD is off to her final AP exam and DS is STILL home sick. I probably could have pushed him to go today because it seems like his fever is gone, but he still had a headache, so I'm letting him have one more day at home. But that will mean he misses today's TaeKwon Do class and won't get to turn in the paper work to test for his first stripe this weekend. Not sure if he can do it as a drop in. I need to call the studio.

I did 5 loads of laundry yesterday....washed, dried, folded and put away, so you would think I could skip that today, right? I do have one more colored load, but will wait for tomorrow to do it in the hopes that the skies will be sunny and I can hang it out.

I got a two-page layout nearly finished for DD's swim book yesterday and will complete it today (just needs the journaling), but it went much slower than I anticipated. Because these are events that are many years past, it is taking me time to double check the dates, locations, etc. And I keep thinking that a particular year is "finished" and then I will find a ribbon or photos from that year and have to go back and rearrange things. But I THINK that 2005 is finally done! :thumbsup2 And parts of 2006 are done too. I just PRAY that DD doesn't come across a stash of ribbons/medals that weren't in the notebook where we have been filing them for years.

I MUST hit the TM today, as I am feeling really pudgy around the middle.... probably could use some ab work too.... haven't done that in ages.

Okay.... off to finish that journaling, make beds, and hit the TM before I have to leave here at 11:15 to pick up DD. TTYL.................P

Sweet!! I will be on the lookout.
Let me know if you need hostesses!

I hope everyone headed to WDW this week has a safe and wonderful trip!
I wish we were joining you!!!

I've had a rough 2 days food wise, but I did log everything. I was a having a bit of a pity party, this is what I wrote on MFP last night:

"Slipping into old food habits. Getting tired of having to stay on top of every single thing I eat. And tired of feeling deprived of everything tasty. I need to remind myself that it will all be worth it someday, but someday is just not today. Anyone else feel that way?
Oh and note to self: you felt like dirt the last 2 days because of your food choices. Remember this feeling!"

but then I woke up to this on my twitter feed this morning:

Quote from the Dalai Lama:
"The quality of everything we do: our physical actions, our verbal actions, even our mental actions, depends on our motivation."

You can look at motivation in 2 ways:
• the reason or reasons one has for acting or behaving in a particular way : escape can be a strong motivation for travel.
• the general desire or willingness of someone to do something : keep staff up to date and maintain interest and motivation.

I'm thinking he was going for meaning #2. But it was an interesting quote. I love the Dalai Lama.

Congratulations to all our superstars and especially to our Biggest Loser, Blndiebby25!

It's a process and you've made progress so I'd call that a success! :cool2:

I can't believe this challenge is in its last week! I know I was not very active on the boards during the second half. But I was still working to be on OP.

I look forward to the Summer one!

Hi!:wave2:

I just wanted to thank everybody for being here to talk to or just to read about your days, challenges and achievements. I joined the challenge in mid February and have lost 12lbs so far! :cool1: and I know I wouldn't have been able to do it without having the support of this board. I know I haven't been an active poster this last month, but I have been reading it each day and just wanted to thank you all! Looking forward to joining you for the summer challenge :goodvibes

:thanks:

Thank you!! I have always wanted to travel, but haven't had the opportunity. I told my mother about the trip and she said it sounded fun but expensive. I understand the reality of it, but hopefully if I get this job I can finally make my own decisions of what is actually possible. It's nice living at home because I have less expenses so I should be able to save more than usual. I have saved about $1000 for our WDW trip this month so I know if I put my mind to it I can definitely go next summer. I'm just tired of money always being the deciding factor if I get to experience something amazing.

I definitely will be trying to save money to go!!

Good luck to your DD on her AP test and I hope your DS feels better!

I used to scrapbook a lot a few years ago and then I've slowly stopped. I always make a huge mess when making books and it drives me crazy so I've decided to stick with digital books. ;)

Sweet!! I will be on the lookout.

Well, I guess that is a negative on the nap because after I posted I went back to bed for 4 hours. :rotfl2:

I'm very excited for the summer challenge, I'm definitely gonna need it after vacation!

Flowers sound magnificent...good to have a quiet week...

Well, Triumph is thriving and is very much wanting to be held by us as opposed to being put in his box lol. I'm checking craigs list now for future companions for him-- I don't want to raise another single kitten. There are too many aggression issues. and they are just much happier with someone to play with and cuddle 24/7. My Mom is really stepping up in regards to my daughter. It is a difficult thing for her to deal with but her former nurse is coming out to take charge. She is already in therapy, and doing well.

Finally had a day off so I went to the gym when my husband got home from work after a good feeding (kitten lol) and worked out for the first time in over a week-- spent a little more time than I wanted to because it just felt so good. Was a litttle late for my steward meeting (which was great-- they went over weingarten rights, there's some new laws as of recent.) Got back just as the lil guy was falling asleep after feeding and of course at the sound of my voice he popped right back up lol.

QUOTD Wed. What is your favorite non-food reward?

I see a lot of success here-- you had better all be rewarding yourself and treating yourselves right....

Ok. Confession time. I haven't tracked on MFP because I didn't want to know how bad it was. I haven't been on plan in days. Today was 3 chocolate chip cookies, yesterday was potato skins and nachos, and Monday was 6 donuts and 2 large fries from Burger King. Yep, stress eating. I have it really bad. The problem? I can't figure out why I'm stressed. I thought I had it figured out on Monday, but I was clearly wrong because I would have stopped by now if I was right. :headache:

Dinner was better, but I ate too much. I also had full fat salad dressing. Tomorrow must be a better day. I'm not sure what we are eating as no one has went to the grocery store lately. I think lunch will be tuna on a Corn Thin. Dinner might be chicken sausage.

Pamela: Corn Thins are made by a company called Real Foods. I believe they are from Australia as an Australian organization certifies them organic.

Nancy: I wanted to mention that you may have to explain what lactose intolerant means to you. Some people can't have ice cream and some people, as I've already said, can't have butter. Definitely remember whey. Buffy is very right about that. You could also try using lactase enzyme supplements. I am going to suggest that you don't try them for the first time on your trip. I find them somewhat helpful. I rarely use them to drink a glass of milk or have ice cream, but will use them for pizza, pancakes, omelets, stuff that doesn't have a lot of milk in it.

Enjoy your trips to WDW everyone!

Have a great, OP day tomorrow!

CC

(Btw, spell check doesn't like WDW. :rotfl2:)

Congratulations to ::Snow_White:: who earned 27/30 points! She is also this week's prize winner. Please PM me your address and also please let me know when you will be returning. I do not want the package hanging out on your doorstep while you are "making memories" in WDW!

Let's finish the last day of the challenge off strong!

QOTD: Rewards. I have been debating when this will be my reward, but my reward is going to be a massage. Tracey-are you willing? I can feel the knots so I think it's going to be my reward for getting to solidly under 170 lbs. Depending on the damage from the last few days, that could be pretty soon.

ABSOLUTELY, CC!!!! It is a great reward! We'll talk;)

Lisa- Ash had a great day! I picked her up from play practice and we went to pick up dinner. She opened her presents this morning. She got a Star Wars tank top and the Star Wars Kinect game. She is also going to a Hunger Games themed adventure where she will learn how to use a bow and arrow, learn fist aid, learn what plants can be eaten and how to use a compass. It's sponsored by the girl scouts as a recruiting event. She's going with a friend from soccer. She said that was the best present. We had a nice dinner of pizza or subs. My parents gave her a pair of Minnie Mouse pjs for the cruise! Her aunt gave her a fashion art print and an itunes gift card. I'm going to surprise her with a Peeta shirt when she gets back from Nature's Classroom.

Ashleigh and I also packed her bag for Nature's Classroom tonight. I have to pick her up a small backpack for the trip for day hikes. I think that is the only thing she is missing.

I'm feeling very stressed as I'm starting to feel overwhelmed with everything that I have to do in the next month. I actually need to go into the bedroom and pick up stuff that I made a mess of when trying to help Ash pack.

AHHHH!!!!!! Ok! Time to do something to relax before I scream!

Hello all!

Slight setback on the toe. The appointment on Monday was great, and I'm officially free of the shoe cast, but I went without it on Tuesday, and it was actually pretty painful. So I'm wearing it again. I figure if I did four weeks on it, I can do two more, right? Alas. It's more comfortable in my athletic shoes, at least, so I've been wearing those more, but I can't get away with them all the time.

I'm trying to keep up on activity, though, and I'm proud to report that I got on my bike and did 16.3km in 30 minutes tonight despite having had a really long day of work (university board meetings). I really didn't want to, but I knew I'd be glad I did - and I am! Now I'm chilling with some work (I know...), TV, and berries with Truvia. :)

I can't believe the challenge is almost over - and I'm SO glad I signed on for it. I needed a kick-start, and you guys gave it to me! Can't wait for the summer one.

XO
Liz
