Biggest Loser "No Excuses" 2012 Team Challenge for Losers and Maintainers!!!

JacksLilWench- I have to say I had never heard of the book until I saw the movie trailer when I took DD11 to see Hunger Games. I don't think many in the audience had either because we all laughed thinking it was supposed to be a comedy! LOL!

MyWeegirls- Great playing by the Sox last night! Can't wait to meet fellow Red Sox fans on PCC3.0! less than 2 months now!!!!

Slept in this morning as I had a slight headache. I fell asleep before Brian even came to bed again. Just had my shake and need to get going on my water now and my cup of tea. Going to mow the lawn when I get home at 2 and then I'll be walking the track tonight at Izzie's soccer practice so that will make up for this morning. I'm back to where I was on Friday so if I can keep this up for 2 more days I will be good to go for the weigh in!

Gotta do a few things before heading to work. Don't have any clients so I will be watching the desk until 1:30. Hopefully my co-worker will have time to do my nails.

What do you do when you are exercising? Do you read, listen to music, watch tv or just chill?
TTFN :tigger:

I *HAVE* to have my iPod! I have all kinds of playlists made on there for motivation, and sometimes it's the only thing to get me through my run :yay:

JacksLilWench- I have to say I had never heard of the book until I saw the movie trailer when I took DD11 to see Hunger Games. I don't think many in the audience had either because we all laughed thinking it was supposed to be a comedy! LOL!

TTFN :tigger:

It's so good!! The book is pretty well-written, and the movie looks really visual- especially all the CGI stuff. Plus I'm a history nerd and love that kind of stuff anyway :)

What do you do when you are exercising? Do you read, listen to music, watch tv or just chill?

Most of my exercise is from running at the moment. I run solo so I bring my ipod and listen to music. I find it makes the time go faster and I don't talk myself into walking when my legs feel a bit stiff or tired. I concentrate more on the music than my discomfort. :)

I have heard that if you are able to read while you are working out then you aren't working hard enough! Makes me think of college when I'd get on the elliptical or stair climber and read for class! Guess that didn't really count.

Kayla - I'm definitely going to sign up for that site!! Thank you!! I'm getting bored with my tunes lately!

Dona- where is grad school and for what? Very exciting!

Liz- wow nice job on the loss! I think continuing those meetings is a great way to keep yourselfaccountable! And you lost two more pounds!!:cool1:

Well, there's my kid yelling for me to come get him!! Have a great day!

I will actually have two in grad school starting this summer.

What do you do when you are exercising? Do you read, listen to music, watch tv or just chill?

If I am in my basement on the exercise bike or the treadmill then I will watch a dvd since the place is not set up for cable. If I am workingout up stair then I will watch a comedy.

Ds1 will be studying on line through the University of Nebraska. He will be studying biology.

Ds2 will be studying where he is getting his bachelor's. He is at Rowan University just outside of Philla. He is getting a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering. His Master's will be in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Transportation.

He told me last night that he walked the Delaware Memorial Bridge which links NJ with Del. It stands 140 feet above the Delaware. I have ridden in a car over it but have never driven over with me as the driver.

Evening Fellow Losers!

Been a busy day but successful in terms of eating right and getting in some exercise. I mowed the lawn this afternoon and then walked two miles at the track. I still have my ab workout to do while I watch the Bruins game!

Tomorrow is Izzie's appt with the pediatric plastic surgeon. Hoping they can schedule what needs to be done soon so I have one less thing to deal with. Hoping the appointment isn't too long either. It's about 30 minutes from here. We will do some cleaning in the morning before we go and probably stop and get something for lunch on our way back. I then having a meeting at Ash's school.

What are your plans for the weekend and what do you plan on doing to help you stay on plan?

I plan on doing my exercise in the morning on Saturday and Sunday morning. I will go to Izzie's soccer game for the first half and then go to work and give a massage and then come back to go to Ashleigh's game. On Sunday I will go to church to drop something off and then we are going to see some friends in the afternoon. I will have my shakes twice a day both days and watch what I eat and drink the rest of the time.

Gotta focus on the game now! It's not going the B's way right now! And Izzie can't find her library book!

Does anyone else have "Hungry Days"? Those days when no matter what you just feel hungry all day even though you know you shouldn't be? Today was one of those for me and it was very frustrating. I have really had the same eating routine throughout the day on weekdays for the last 7 weeks.
Shake at 7:15 am
Coffee/ Oatmeal or muffin or yogurt around 9:30-10am
Lunch of soup and salad or leftovers around 12:30
Snack around 4 (apple and cheese or pb or something similar)
Dinner

Today I was just hungry all day-- and felt icky because of it. Some days I have my shake and then don't even think about eating again until around 11. Or have my morning items and don't get hungry for lunch until 2pm. I guess those are my "Not Hungry Days". But it seemed like the more I ate today the hungrier I got! I just now finally feel full-- I had a lot of veggies with dinner and it seems to have done the trick. So why do I have these days??

But I was good and just stuck to my plan and only used my daily points so I guess I got through it. The training I was looking forward to was a bust. It was useless and a powerpoint presentation emailed to us would have been more useful. I did take a lot of notes and at one point my boss leaned over and said "you don't need to worry about any of this, it is all only for the high school" I just looked at her and said "The way the last few months have gone I am preparing for ANYTHING!" She laughed.

Today was Administrative Assistants Appreciation day and they surprised me with a beautiful plant and a card-- so sweet. I didn't expect anything, and actually didn't even know it was AAA today until I got to school. I've been an Administrative Assistant (sub) for about 7 weeks now and already gotten presents twice! :teeth:

Hoping for a more normal day tomorrow. I may use up some of the weekly points I haven't been using on a big chocolate chip cookie. The cafeteria has these great cookies and I have had a craving. DD16 said they are going to stop selling them so I better get one while I can! From the nutritional infor they provide it is about 7 or 8 points per cookie, but totally worth it!!!

QOTD: I love the recumbent bike. I especially like how I can multitask and read a magazine or the newspaper while exercising. Today I worked on a grocery list. I am hoping that once I lose 10 pounds I will be able to use the treadmill with greater success. Unfortunately, 10 pounds lighter will probably need to be 20 or more lighter.

Thanks for coaching last week Ashley! :)

Thanks for coaching this week Tracey! :)

Does anyone have any ideas for how to use a lot of chicken? I took a quick inventory of our freezer today in preparation for a big grocery shopping tomorrow and we have lots and lots of chicken. If my parent would eat chicken 7 nights a week, we could eat out of our freezer for the entire week. I will check out our recipe thread as well.

Have a great, OP day tomorrow everyone!

Hi DIS friends! I have missed you. Tonight I am filled with a sweet sorrow. Yesterday was the last high school musical for my oldest son. He had the lead
CC ... I read this great idea one time about rewarding yourself with money. It was "kind of" a reward. You would give a family member or friend at work an allotted about of money. Then that person would pay you every week if you met your goal. If you didn't meet the goal, your friend or family member got to keep the money. So, you could give a friend 50.00 and lose a pound a week for 5 weeks. If you don't lose the pound, they get to keep the 10.00. It was a really interesting way to motivate someone.

Have a great week everyone!

Well-- maybe he'll go on to do other stuff like it-- you never know ;-)
This is brilliant. I'm going to go take out $50 asap. I'm doing it with my son lol.

Plan of attack for the week

Monday - Wal-Mart to get some shorts and reusable water bottle. Car to Nissan for service apt (where Alan is right now)
housework - Vacuum and finish cleaning my office
exercise - Cardio (2 miles on treadmill)

Tuesday - Dr apt to check PT/INR levels & make my packing list for Disney
housework - Clean my bathroom
exercise - Strength training

Wednesday - Nothing planned
housework - Vacuum
exercise - Cardio (swimming)

Thursday - Nothing (going to be an emotional day)
housework - N/A
Exercise - Strength training

Friday - IN BED EARLY -- Wal-Mart or Publix to get cakes for Josh and Alan's b-days
housework - Laundry (if any) and dusting
exercise - Cardio

Sunday QOTD: I don't usually treat myself at the end of the week. However, I do for every 10 pounds I lose. I still haven't decided what I'm doing when I hit this next 10 pounds lost which will be when I lose 2 more pounds.

Saturday QOTD: I love to swim. I swim 4 to 5 times a week anywhere from half a mile to a mile. It on average takes anywhere from 35 minutes (half mile) to 75 minutes (1 mile).

I really like swimming too. I finally got some better equipment--silicone swim cap, Ion shampoo and conditioner--much better.
Just a quick posting-- i'll tune in later. We're getting ready to eat then, go to Chimpanzee. Had a sort of late breakdown last night-- I don't know, maybe post--birthday-- that sort of thing. Better now...

CONGRATULATIONS!!! :woohoo::cool1: That is wonderful. What are you doing?

Thanks! I work in quality control and my job has an education/training component.

Congrats CC on the new job.

Thanks! Love the dress!

CC- congrats on the new job!!

Thanks!

What do you do when you are exercising? Do you read, listen to music, watch tv or just chill?

I like to read magazines. I have a subscription to both Health and fitness and get lots more from the library. I try to check out WW mag, travel mags, and others. Family Circle usually has a few recipes ideas in it that I can use.

Very busy getting used to my new job. I apologize for going MIA. Thanks for all the congrats and I apologize if I missed personal thanks to anyone.

Hey everyone!

Sorry I've not been around lately. I've been busy trying to get my house clean before my best friend gets here. Then I've been dealing with health issues. My new doctor's office is getting on my last nerve. I went in for a PT/INR check the other day and sat in the waiting room for an HOUR after my scheduled appointment time. I finally got up and said something which was basically along the lines of, "I don't understand how I'm still sitting here an hour after my scheduled appointment time and all I need is my finger pricked and meds refilled. This is ridiculous." Within 10 minutes everything was done and I was out the door. Before I leave the nurse is like "You don't have to schedule an apt for a PT/INR. You can just come up here and we'll take the few minutes to do it." I felt like smarting off and saying, "Well, gee that would of been nice to know last week before leaving my appointment." I just politely said thank you and walked out.

I've got to get some laundry done tomorrow so I can make sure I have enough clothes to pack. I'm not paying to wash my clothes while we're at CSR. Since we live so close I told my bestie that we'd just come back to the house the afternoon or night before she leaves. Then she can do all of her laundry and have clean clothes to take home.

We went to Publix yesterday and ordered a german chocolate cake for Alan's birthday on Monday. He's going to go on Sunday afternoon and pick it up along with a small chocolate one. I also want to celebrate Josh's (my late husband) birthday at the same time. His actual birthday is today (Thursday).

I need to remember to pack my pedometer and reusable water bottle for bestie and I's trip. On the days that we're not in the parks we're going to either be pool side at CSR, walking the jogging trail, or spending some time in the fitness center. I want to stay focused on my weight loss while I'm on this trip. As of this morning I'm 4.5 pounds from ONEDERLAND!

Well, I need to end this and get some sleep. I'm going to be pretty busy the next 2.5 days before my bestie gets here on Saturday.

Morning everyone,

Did I kill the thread?

Down .6 so far for the week. Woke up with another headache so I didn't workout this morning. I will this afternoon. I may do a WATP DVD. It's been awhile and I think I need a change!

Just had my shake and water just finished boiling for my tea. Gotta give Izzie a shower before heading off to the dr. She wants to be to school by lunch time as she is in a lunch group on Thursdays.

TTFN :tigger:

Good morning all! :goodvibes

Busy times so haven't been on as much as I would like. I am reading every day for all your inspiration! :thumbsup2

First, a big BL congratulations to all our superstars and especially to our Biggest Loser, Melinda! :cool2: That is a great accomplishment right after returning from vacation! ::yes::

Buffy, belated Happy Anniversary to you! :flower3: Sorry for the plumbing problems.

CC, a big congrats on the job! :cool1:

Linda, this sunny warm weather is a treat even though everything is blooming -- enjoy! :sunny:

Trina, you're doing great! I would hold the line and get through the rest of the semester and be ready to have a fabulous time on vacation if I were you. :beach:

Karen, nice job on the 5 miles! :cool2:

Right now, I'm reading a book called "Three Maids for A Crown" I just picked up at Target one night. It's about this family where the parents of a family kinda conive to get their oldest daughter onto the throne of England in the 1550's and how it backfires. I'm about halfway through now.

Speaking of books, did anyone else read "Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter" and is anyone else as excited as I am to see the movie??? It looks awesome!!

Those both sound like interesting books! :thumbsup2

What are your plans for the weekend and what do you plan on doing to help you stay on plan?

I have some menu planning and shopping to do as well as a 12 mile training run. All that should keep me on track. :hippie:

Hello to everyone I missed! :wave2:

What are your plans for the weekend and what do you plan on doing to help you stay on plan?

DS15 has a meet at Trinity College Saturday. I haven't decided if I'm going to go. Mom is taking the little kids but I'm not sure if DH is going to the meet. If he doesn't I might see if he wants to go to the rails to trails park and walk/run. Just want to get a feel for how we pair up speed wise.
Stay on plan - I need to pack a lunch if we go to the meet. It will be an all day thing so I want to be prepared.

OMG yes!! I had that 2 days last week. I hate it!!

As of this morning I'm 4.5 pounds from ONEDERLAND!

WOOHOO!!!!!!

I hope you and your BFF have a great time hanging out. I don't get to see mine until December at WDW.

*******************************

Thanks for all the well wishes for the anniversary. We did nothing spectacular as usual. DH dug out the septic system and I went to DS15's track meet.
Pizza for dinner.

We have an empty septic tank now! YAY!! And there were no other clogs so we can resume showers, laundry and dishes. I have a lot of catching up to do! LOL

I've stayed OP on food, but not on exercise. I need to get something in today.
I'm trying to find out a target calorie burn for the day. I need a number to aim for.
OK, gonna get off this thing. I'm freezing so I need to get moving!

I hope y'all have a great OP day today!!

Good morning losers!!

This week has been pretty good but I have so much stuff to do today. Tons of homework and lots of things going on this weekend. Yes, I signed up for my 2nd 5k that is this weekend! :yay:

Next week is my last week of actual "classes" and then I'll just have finals! Then I will only be 2 1/2 weeks away from....WDW!! Hopefully my weigh-in tomorrow goes well.

Have a wonderful day!

What are your plans for the weekend and what do you plan on doing to help you stay on plan?

This is a big weekend! DH and I leave tomorrow morning for a wedding in NY. We'll be there until Sunday, when we drive home. We'll be seeing a lot of friends we don't get to see very often, and the girls aren't coming with us. There's also open bar at the reception and a shuttle to the hotel, so the wine will be flowing...!

I had planned to dance off my indulgences, but while my orthopedist said I could wear my pretty shoes, dancing is right out with this toe. So I'll be watching my intake within reason and enjoying the time with friends. I chose the vegetarian entree, which seemed to read the healthiest of the options when the invitation arrived. And I'd be lying if I said I wasn't psyched to put on my beautiful new dress and show off all my hard work to my friends! :rotfl2: So just the fact that I'm wearing that dress should be enough to keep me mentally in check. I hope. I'm not going to obsess about every bite this weekend, but I'm going to try and come home not regretting my choices. A fine line to walk...

I've done the stationary bike every night since Sunday, and I figured out last night that I'm actually going farther than I thought I was. The bike tells me pace and distance (and other stuff) while I'm riding, and I was just paying attention to the end distance. Last night, though, I noticed on the summary stats that my distance was actually calculated off of my total pace, and I'm going about 6km farther in half an hour than I thought I was! ?!? I'm not sure why the distance is lower during the ride, but I'm sweating either way. :)

This morning I also did my modified 30DS - no cardio because of the toe - so that I don't lose the strength conditioning. It's not as much fun without the cardio (never thought I'd say that!), but it's something.

Today I'm bringing a load of too-big clothes to the consignment shop (WOO!), doing some light grocery shopping (and my sushi lunch, yum!), and working - then bringing DD5 to dance class. Then back here for dinner when my MIL arrives. She's staying with the girls this weekend, and they are so excited to have Grandma here.

Early wishes for a wonderful weekend!

XO
Liz

My plans for the weekend? Whats a weekend? :goodvibes But no really, there is no relaxation in sight for the next...3 weeks. My weekend consists of the following:

Today (Thursday): One more class, personal training at the gym at 4pm (really don't feel like I have time for this but too late now), starting and hopefully finishing a 7 page paper for American Government.

Friday: Work 7am - 12pm, stopping by my friend's to find something suitable to wear, hopefully will be finished with my Amer. Govn't paper and can finish my 20 page research paper

Saturday: Have to get up at the *** crack of dawn to drive to school and pick up a friend and then we have to be at the historical society at 7:45am to judge the little kiddos because its national history day. This should go till about 1, and then i'm sure i will need a nap and then its more work on the research paper

Sunday: Work 10-4 and then a presentation i have to work on for a class. And more research paper.

So as you can see, my weekend is pretty much schoolwork. A lot depends on me getting this essay done tonight so I really hope I can buckle down and get it out of the way, cause otherwise I will have less time for the other essay.

I'm def feeling the pressure and can't even think about eating or working out, so i've just been trying to eat lots of veggies, not think about how fat i feel and not freak out.

QOTD: I don't have an ipod so when I walk or run it's just quiet. But I like quiet, so that's fine. When we were in Seattle I tried to use DS's ipod on the treadmill, but the earpiece fell out and the cord bouncing bugged me. This weekend's plans? hmm tomorrow is no school, but still school things happening. I have a training, DS2 has a choir rehearsal, pretty sure both boys have baseball practice. Sat. is DS2's last flute lesson for 6 weeks since the instructor will be gone. Last night DD's music director complimented him on something and he told him he'd been working on that as part of his lessons. DS was happy that people are noticing. Sunday evening is choir and youth group for ds2. Actually the calendar is amazingly empty. I will definitely run on Sat. and that's the only thing I have planned. Maybe I can get the rest of the family to help me paint. Or maybe we'll pop over to one of the grandparents for a night. I'm sure they'd love to have sudden houseguests! ;)

My inlaws called last night to say they aren't going to be able to come to DS1's graduation. :sad1: DFIL is recovering well from his stroke, but has just had a little set back and the doc doesn't want him to travel. Plus we're waiting on some test results of another issue he has and that may change absolutely everything. DS took it pretty well.

Last night was the informational meeting about the study abroad program for DS2. He's still thinking about applying, but is very worried about his activities. Plus he's in a special academic program at school and obviously will face different challenges if he goes overseas. So basketball, baseball, probably choir and band would come to a halt. And he's not sure if he wants to be away from "my church" for an entire year. :woohoo: gotta love a kid who wants to be part of a church community. He's still thinking. The application deadline is in about a month. BUT he's been offered another opportunity to apply for a 3-ish week trip abroad next summer through a different program. Anybody got a money tree start we can plant?! I think we need to win a lottery! :wizard:

Evening all! Productive day here today. Got DS's Lego room picked up a bit and were able to move his Lego cityscape from the dining room where it has been holding court for MONTHS! Then got the dining room all dusted and it is back to normal...but the baseboards weren't dry enough to reinstall, so we will do those tomorrow. But DS was able to reinstall the bathroom cabinet drawer fronts and doors. He is such a big help!

DH went to the dump for me....there was so much trash and recycling! Then he took my car in to put the summer tires back on. I hung two loads on the clothesline....it wasn't a warm sunny day, but it didn't rain and it was really breezy.

I touched up a few spots in the living room (but there are a few more to fix) and pressed and hung the quilted wall hanging that my mom gave me for Christmas in 2010. (Better late than never, right?) I also hung another print that I rook down last year to make room for my new entertainment center. Now I just have 3 botanical prints that I want to find a spot to rehang (they were hanging where I put the new quilt).

Made a nice lunch and we ate together as a family at 1pm since DD would be at swim during the regular dinner hour.

Anyhow... I feel happy that I got so much done today (and yesterday). It looks like I will be heading to the Cape on Thursday for a few days to spend some "girl time" with three of my sisters in law, so I'll spend tomorrow packing up for that and prepping some meals for the family to have while I'm gone. It is kind of a last minute thing. I was supposed to meet up with some other dis-ers at a scrapping convention this weekend, so I need to head to that thread to beg off. I feel badly, since this only comes up once a year, but I love my sils and will enjoy my time with them as well.

I will try to return in the morning to chat! TTYL..........P

I'm always amazed at how much you get done while I'm working. I keep telling DH I should be a stay at home mom, but he's not buying it lol. Have a great weekend with your family!

What do you do when you are exercising? Do you read, listen to music, watch tv or just chill?

TTFN :tigger:

I listen to music while running. At the gym, I guess I listen to music also during circuit training class, spinning, and yoga, although yoga's music is much different than the others

I go back to the orthopedist tomorrow for my next set of x-rays. Hopefully the bone reset they did on my toe last week held! It's not comfortable, but I'm getting around (heck, I even put together an IKEA dining table on Sunday night ). I just miss the exercise routine I was getting so into, especially my run training! Slow and steady...

My MIL arrives Thursday evening to stay with the girls while DH and I go to NY for a wedding this weekend! I'm sure my orthopedist won't let me wear my *awesome* new shoes (at least one of them), even though the heel is very low, but I do have a beautiful new dress to bring along with me. I bought it after I reached goal and realized nothing in my closet fit anymore and that I totally deserved a new special occasion dress. :) It's purple, one-shoulder, Ralph Lauren, and I love it. I've been waiting a long time to be able to wear a dress like that! Just too bad I can't dance in it. But the wedding is open bar, shuttle to the hotel, and I predict I'll be sending DH to fetch me wine several times that evening. ;)

Hope all goes well with the orthopedist and you're healing well!

Also, have a great time this weekend. That dress sounds pretty sexy! I'm sure your DH will love bringing you wine :)

We head back down on Saturday to cosign his lease on his new apartment. He is so excited about moving into his own place. He will be a grad student next year. Grad students are only allowed a single and then he wouldn't have a kitchen. He has been cooking for himself for the last two years so he would miss it. He decided he wanted to move away from the dorm life.

I hope he enjoys the new apartment. Congrats on having 2 boys in grad school. You must be so proud!

What are your plans for the weekend and what do you plan on doing to help you stay on plan?

I'm planning on relaxing, cleaning, grocery shopping, getting DS a birthday present (no clue what to get him), and celebrating his birthday on Sunday (his birthday is May 3 and he'll be 9). He picked to go out to eat at the most unhealthiest place of all...a Mexican restaurant! So, I need to do some preplanning and not overeat since I do want a (small) piece of his cake!

Does anyone else have "Hungry Days"? Those days when no matter what you just feel hungry all day even though you know you shouldn't be? Today was one of those for me and it was very frustrating. I have really had the same eating routine throughout the day on weekdays for the last 7 weeks.

I hate "hungry days." I seem to be more hungry when I don't sleep good or wake up too early. It's like it throws my whole schedule off! I count calories, and the day of my mom's surgery, I was 2 or 3 hours ahead of my normal routine. I had eaten almost all my calories by 10 am!

As of this morning I'm 4.5 pounds from ONEDERLAND!

Congrats and keep up the good work! And, have a blast with your friend!!

It's a rainy Thursday here in PA. I'm hoping it keeps raining since we need it, but I need to mulch and plant my veggies. It's only supposed to be a high of 45 Saturday, so hopefully I will get to do it next week. I love fresh veggies from my backyard.

Confession time: I have not been eating good. I keep going over my calories, and yesterday it was a lot over. I lost some motivation the last couple weeks and need to get it back. I still keep exercising, but I am worried about my weigh in this week. I am hoping to at least maintain. I have got to figure out why I am doing this~although, I know some of it has to do with stress. Maybe if I preplan every meal next week, I'll stick to it. I think I'll spend the night looking for new recipes. My co-worker is also trying to get healthier and showed me a website from a magazine called Swole.me. You enter info and it gives you a suggested menu. Anyone try this site before?

Well, I have to wrap things up at work, so I better run.

Uh oh! Had an unexpected lunch out with Brian today. I called him after Izzie's appt and he had forgotten his lunch so said why don't we go out. So we went to a Chinese buffet place called Bamboo! I filled my plate twice but not overflowing. My dinner will be a protein shake made with water and I plan on getting in an elliptical and WATP workout between now and bedtime. Only drinking water the rest of the day. Don't want to gain what I lost. I may hold off on weigh in until Saturday. I didn't feel that full at lunch. It was nice as we don't get out much just the two of us so it was a treat!

Gotta call and make the appt for Izzie's ear repair tomorrow morning. It should only take about 10 minutes so hopefully we can get it taken care of soon. She is a little nervous but she'll be ok.

Ash is wiped out from her field trip today and she has soccer practice tonight. She's really hoping it starts downpouring before practice starts so her dad will cancel it. She's working on her homework right now and IM ing her friends.

I'm going to go change my clothes and get in my first workout before I decide not to do it! I think I'll do WATP now and the elliptical later while Brian and Ash are at soccer practice.

Had a nice day-- the lady I am subbing for came by. It is so nice to meet the person that you are filling in for. I got to ask her some questions and just fill her in on the things I have (and haven't!) been doing. I feel better knowing that she is fine with the way I am doing things. She looks great but even never having met her before I could see that she seemed tired and just not feeling any pep. Of course, 5 weeks after bypass surgery I don't think I would be dressed, hair and makeup done and going out to socialize! She is actually hoping to try to come back at least part time in a few weeks. I told her I would be happy to split days or alternate days, whatever she is most comfortable with.

I didn't get my big cookie :( The cafeteria lady warned me that they had overcooked them so I skipped it. Worked out okay though because it was my supervisor's birthday so I had a small piece of cake instead. I will try again for the cookie tomorrow though!

I just had a great 0 point snack-- mixed some Truvia sweetener with cinnamon and sprinkled it over apple slices. Gotta figure out what to have with dinner tonight. We are having a sesame/asian marinated chicken. I think I want some couscous and roasted asparagus.
