QOTD: April 4th

This is one area I tend to struggle with ... so this is my question ...

How much water do you drink during the day? If you drink the 64ozs, what do you do to ensure you drink the whole amount by the end of the day?

I prefer plain seltzer over water, so I own a soda stream machine. On work days I bring 2 one liter bottles with me and try to finish the first by the end of lunch and the second by the end of the school day. Then I usually finish a third with dinner and through out the evening. At home i tend to start water/seltzer after coffee, around 10 am, but same deal....first by lunch, second by mid-afternoon. I don't count anything with caffeine-alcohol-fat-sugar as water, but will count a cup of decaf green tea as part of my water.

Holy smokes! I haven't been on here in 10 days and my head is spinning in the amount of stuff that has gone on. Grab a bottled water, healthy snack, kick your feet back, and prepare to read a novel, LOL.

Okay, well Alan and I will be together 4 years in July. It'll also be 4.5 years since Josh and Maddie passed away (my late husband & daughter for those who don't know the story were killed by a drunk driver in 2008. I was sole survivor of the accident).

Anyways, back to my long novel..

Originally we wanted to stay here locally and do something. We couldn't agree on anything and then a few days go by and I get the crazy hair up my butt. I booked us 3 nights in Vegas at Treasure Island. The flight was expensive but I couldn't beat the hotel price, 90 bucks a night! :scared1: <-- that was my shocked face when I saw the price online. We're going to kick back and relax. We'll fly in on a Thursday afternoon. We're going to see Bill Cosby at our hotel early Friday evening. Then I'm going over to the Wynn to see..... (drum roll please)

GARTH BROOKS!

I've always wanted to see him concert when I was younger. I never got the chance. So, yeah we spent WAY more then what I would normally for our anniversary but eh, you only live once.

Alan and I had been talking for weeks on and off about getting another pet. I told him I didn't want another cat. I wanted a small dog that we could mainly keep in the house. With having the inground pool put in our backyard we don't have a big enough yard now for 2 big dogs. So I scowered online looking to see what I could find. I had my heart set on a Boston terrier but we decided to go ahead and go to the SPCA and see what we could find.

I walked up and down the aisle of dogs a few times and nothing interested me at first. Then I walked back down the one aisle and a little guy caught my eye. I looked to see if he had a card on the kennel and we couldn't find one. We grabbed a volunteer and he found his card. He's a 10 month old terrier mix. His name on his card was "Banjo" but I didn't like it. So we changed it to 'Rosco". The card said he was house broken and they weren't sure how did with cats.

Long story short we filled out all the paperowork and Alan came back Monday afternoon to pick him up. They had neutered him Saturday afternoon after we left. I was real nervous on how Dublin was going to do. She's 8 years old and her whole life it was just her and her sister in my mom's house, and even when we took them last year.

Well, you can imagine my relief when we got Rosco in the house, they looked at each other, and went their seperate ways. Rosco followed Alan outside and came back in a few minutes later. Dublin came in from being on the back deck and she sniffed at him, didn't hiss or anything, and went and laid back in her bed. So, far so good. We had him in a crate last night, he cried for a few minutes, but calmed down.

I heard him barking early this morning when I was still in bed. I asked Alan when I got up what was wrong. He started to laugh and told me that Dublin had gone over to his bowl and tried eating his puppy chow. He barked at her to tell her to back off. Alan said she just looked at him and walked away. I bet he felt big and ferocious (sp), :rotfl:

Then today I was on FB and my friend tells me there was tornados in Dallas. I turned on CNN and sure enough! I was freaking out!! They had several touch down and one was fairly close to where my mom is working right now. I texted her (and several other friends and family) and they all texted throughout the next few hours to say they were okay. My mom said the hospital was under a CODE BLACK (basically tornado conditions). My brother was in Hurst bunkered down in his truck in a parking garage. Apparently his college is to d*mn cheap to invest in emergency notification systems for their students. He said the only reason kids were finding out what was going on was because they had parents texting them. Luckily, he made it safely back to my dad's house.

We texted the realtor that is managing our house and our next door enighbor. They both assured us that it wasn't that bad in our hometown, bunch of rain and high winds. Our neighbor assured us our house was okay.

So, its been a crazy day and I'm glad its over. Now I'm going to eat my Crunch bar. I was so stressed out I had to decide "Okay do I drink a few wine coolers or a chocolate bar?" Chocolate bar won.

**PICS OF ALAN & ROSCO**

Yep, that's Dub & Rosco on the back deck, feet from each other. :)

Congrats on the new family member! Hope they continue to get along!

Trip sounds like a ball! Enjoy every minute!

Glad you didn't get any bad news from TX.

Hello All,

I know I'm very late on this but here is my introduction to team Donald. My name is Bickiana but you can all call me Bicki. I'm a native New Yorker and still live here. I'm 28 but will be 29 this month. I've been married for 5 years and have a 3 yr old son. I work part time (4 days) as a teller at a bank, and I am in grad school pursing my masters in education for both general ed and special ed.
This was my first time doing one of these challenges and although my discussion participation has gone down, I am still trying to keep up with the changes I've made. Since Jan. I've lost 11 pounds and while my goal was to have lost about 15 pounds around this time I'm not at all disappointed in my efforts. I know I could do more and then I would have been at 15 pounds but in reality I know my life is very busy and if I make smart choices everyday and squeeze in some workouts then I will lose the weight. Slow and steady wins the race right?
Anyway, I am very glad I joined this challenge... I think my fellow teammates have been some of the most supportive people I have "met". I'm convinced that this does work, and look forward to getting to know the Donald team.

Welcome, welcome, welcome! Glad to have you aboard! Sorry I wasn't here sooner to say hello. Computer issues here at home and typing on my Ipad is slow!

Here we celebrate our progress and recognize our superstars.

Reminders:
-after 3 weeks of no reporting, you are dropped from the challenge – can re-start at any time, though
-if anybody knows they will miss weighing in, just PM and let me know and you’ll be marked excused

Biggest Loser Fall Challenge Week 13!
This week’s group loss = 40.1 pounds!
Average percentage of weight lost 0.51 %
Total group weight loss so far 945.6 pounds!

AWESOME!

Retention Rate (compared to the 144 participants we had sign up for our start week on January 1st)
34% (this includes the Losers, Maintainers and Excused people!). Let's keep sending those weights people!

Before the weekly superstar list comes the disclaimer. I am human and I make mistakes. If you have any questions please contact me. For your reference this is the magic percentage of weight lost formula - weight loss for the week divided by weight for last week times 100, that gives us the percentage. Now let me test that with my numbers for week 1, click, click, click goes the calculator. Yes, that agrees with the percentage on the magic spreadsheet. (btw if its been more than 1 week between weigh-ins, then the % loss is divided by the number of weeks, to keep everybody on the same basis)

Now let's get to the good stuff. Who were our superstars of week 13?

Have a healthy day!
Congratulations Sunshineminnie!!! !

Congrats to everyone! And a special WoooHooo to EVERYONE who is still here with us, putting in the effort every day!!:woohoo:

Good Tuesday morning everyone.

I tried to get on here yesterday but my computer just wouldn't cooperate. Last night I had to work an hour shift at McDonald's for McTeacher night. The National Honor Society gets a percentage of the proceeds while the teachers are working the registers. I have worked the drive through every time I have worked this fundraiser.

Tonight I have to go to a Faculty/Faculty basketball game. I am not going to play but I am cheering for the math department. We do stand a chance of winning our first round game because we are going against the guidance department. After that we don't stand a chance.

Congrats to all the biggest losers this week especially Sunshineminnie

Off to get dressed.

Have a happy and healthy day.

Hope your week is going well! Spring break will be here soon!

okay.....I feel reasonably caught up! Things have been quiet here. Breakfast is eaten, bed is made.....off to my scrapping spot!............P

Good morning all! :goodvibes

Congratulations to all our superstars and especially to our Biggest Loser, Sunshineminnie! :cool1:

Question of the Day for Tuesday, April 3rd:

Christopher's post about clicking the airplane belt got me thinking about other signs that let you know you have lost weight BESIDES the number on the scale.

List one (or more) things/events that have changed since you lost weight.

I don't worry about the seatbelt or being crowded in an airline seat :cool2:
All my shirts are now regular sized :goodvibes
I'm stronger :teeth:
I've done things I've never dreamed were possible! pixiedust:

Hi Nancy! :wave2: Nice to see you and congratulations on being on the superstar list! :yay:

Liz, hope you had fun at the ball game! :thumbsup2

Pamela, bummer about the computer. :flower3:

THANK YOU!
I FEEL SOOOOO MUCH BETTER!!!!!!!! It's really just that simple! :goodvibes

:woohoo: That clippie looks great on you! And that was an amazing loss that you had -- almost 5%! :worship:

Linda, that rain found it's way over here! :umbrella:

Trina, it is hard to go to a new group class. :hug: Everyone else seems to know everyone, inevitably you stand in someone's "spot" that seemed like the rest of the floor, ;) you feel funny 'cause you don't know the routine. But really once things get going everyone is paying attention to their workout and not to anyone else. I'm trying a couple of new group classes in the next couple of weeks -- a stretch and tone, zumba, and water aerobics -- so I needed this little talk, too. :thumbsup2

Hi Bicki! :wave2: Nice to see you!

Kristina, glad everything is okay in TX and your new dog is so cute! :dog:

This is one area I tend to struggle with ... so this is my question ...

How much water do you drink during the day? If you drink the 64ozs, what do you do to ensure you drink the whole amount by the end of the day?

I make sure I am adequately hydrated during the day. I can tell if I'm not because I get a headache. I don't worry about the 64 oz of water a day thing because it turns out to be one of those things that is a diet myth and it isn't actually supported by science. However, it is important to stay hydrated and all beverages count -- yep, even the caffinated ones. Here is a link to an article about water intake from the Mayo Clinic http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/water/NU00283 So if this is a tough one for you and you are adequately hydrated, it is one less thing to worry about! :hippie:

Hi Sue! :wave: Nice to see you! Isn't it funny when you see stuff you kind of forgot you had? ;)

Dona, way to get the crowd going last night! :cheer2:

I am bouncing up and down 2 pounds since returning from vacation. I know what I need to do to get moving in the right direction again just not doing it. :rolleyes: I'm looking forward to my coaching gig 'cause you all always motivate me to get a move on! :flower3:

QOTD

I drink 6-8 oz of orange juice on my way to work and then start on my first bottle of water. I have 1 coke a day - I don't drink coffee, so this is my caffeine.
Then it is bottled water for the rest of the day. I need to get a refill mug, but I hate the filter water here in my office - it grosses me out. I don't care how many filters you say it has...
I also keep a half bottle in the freezer. I like my water COLD, so I switch it out every couple of hours...

My sister and I were just discussing this morning how pricy college is. My nephew goes to Penn State Berhend campus and will graduate in December. But, it's a shame how much everything costs and how people who actually work can't get finiancial aid for their kids. It's sad. It's great that your son cares so much about school. It's a tough economy, so college is so important. My poor nephew can't even find a unpaid internship (accounting or marketing) for this summer. They all want experience. How can he get experience? He's applied for a ton, but so have all the other students. He may look in Florida or Texas where we have family since there is nothing in this area.

QOTD~I notice my clothes are looser. In fact, I noticed my bras are getting too big. This is good and bad. Good, I'm obviously losing inches. Bad, I don't have much in the bra are to lose and bras are sooooooo expensive to replace all of them! Sorry to Christopher for my bra talk :)

46 days til my next disney trip. can't wait! i set a weight loss goal for then and i'm currently 2 lbs under the goal! i'm lowering my goal now a few pounds to keep up my motivation!

have a great OP day everyone!

Oh my! I'm 44 days away! But, we are arriving Friday morning (flight lands at 8:30 am) and leaving Monday. DH and I are going alone for our anniversary. It's getting close! Where are you staying? We are staying at Pop. We were going to stay at CSR or the Poly, but we probably won't be at the resort much, so decided to save money by staying at Pop. We really like Pop, too.

Got my new Kingdom Keepers book today but I'm trying to finish another book first! Hoping to finish it by the end of the week!

TTFN :tigger:

Do you like these books? Maybe I'll get one for my trip to wdw.

This is one area I tend to struggle with ... so this is my question ...

How much water do you drink during the day? If you drink the 64ozs, what do you do to ensure you drink the whole amount by the end of the day?

I have found drinking water is much easier for me know. I have cut my soda consumption, so I drink so much more water. I usually end up drinking 32-40 ounces before I get done with work. Then I drink another 12-16 at the gym and another 12-16 with dinner. I can tell when I haven't had enough water now. I feel sluggish.

I have a great mug that I fill up twice a day and keep it with me. My trick - A STRAW! I don't' know why but I drink more when I have a straw. :lmao: Usually the first mug is done by lunch and the second I just kind of sip throughout the day. It's amazing how many times I am surprised that the water is gone! When I workout, I usually drink a bunch more.

Fun meet last night DS took home the gold in Discus in his second meet. He was sooooo excited!

Have a happy, healthy day all!:goodvibes

I tend to drink more with a straw also. I use those new reusable cups with hard plastic straws. Congrats on the gold! That's so cool.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Okay. I missed a day and am all caught up. My mom is out of surgery (knee replacement) and everything went well. I came to work while my sister stayed at the hospital. I am going to go to the hospital this afternoon and evening. The doctor said she'd be home in 3-5 days. Luckily, I am off of school until Tuesday, so I'll be able to help her with what she needs.
Other than that, I am STARVING! My whole day is off because I was up at 4:30 am (usually get up at 6 am) to get to the hospital at 5:30 am. So, my whole schedule is off and I am so tired. I am craving chocolate, but I am going to try to avoid sweets and may try to sqeeze in a workout to keep me going between work and going to the hospital.
I don't have too much else to say about myself (DH would be shocked by this :rotfl:). I am thinking I will be a maintainer this week, just because my workouts and eating all all messed up. I need to catch up on HH also. This week's HH were so much fun. I hope everyone is have a good, healthy day and keeping at it!
I'll catch up when I get a chance, but probably won't be until tomorrow.
Jill
QOTD: I love water. Drink it all day long. Half a gallon easily before dinner.
Fly by post cuz I need to get ready for my sub job. It's just 3 hours and afterwards I plan to run. Already squeezed my walk in. Maybe the rain will take a little break this afternoon, otherwise it'll be a wet run.
Gotta dash. Have a super day!
Good afternoon all! Healthy lunch consumed (although I almost burned my broccoli), second load of laundry chugging along, fruit cut up for afternoon snack (papaya today), a few scrapping pages under way. Didn't hit the TM today because DD and I are doing a step class today. We were going to do a spin class and then step, but won't be able to fit in both after picking up DS.
Watching BL season 11 on Netflix right now. Definitely one of my favorite seasons.....no one that I really dislike, not tons of stupid game play...lots of love and good feelings. Makes me want to google Courtney and see if she succeeded on her journey. I really hope so.
Gotta finish up these pages before I pick up DD....then will vacume vefore picking up DS and heading to the Y tonight!..........P
Hi everyone!
We had a great time at the ballgame yesterday, but uuugggghhh I felt awful last night. :sick: All that stuff we were saying about indulging in your old favorites after getting healthy? Yeah, I think that hit me hard. I had a Shakeburger (Shake Shack cheeseburger) and Box Frites sweet potato garlic fries. DH and I split a soft pretzel late in the game, and I had a big Diet Coke to drink. By the time we got home, I just wanted to curl up into a little ball. So I did. I felt a lot better this morning - it was either indigestion, or (hopefully not) something off with something I ate. I don't feel the need to do that again for a while!
That said, I felt pretty good this morning. Not good enough for a C25K workout, but I did do my 30-day shred, and I didn't keel over. DH and I met with our lawyer to finally get our wills, etc. done - I can't believe we've put this off so long. The girls are 5 and 7! We've had life insurance for quite a while, but we just haven't done the work to make sure our kids are covered the way we want them to be should anything happen to both of us. I hate thinking about it, but I'm so glad we're doing it. The lawyer's office is just a few doors down from our favorite restaurant, so I went there for a pretty healthy lunch afterward. They had a local chicken salad (no mayo - made with mustard and a light dressing) over lettuce, and that was just what I needed.
The girls are still at my MIL's for spring break week, so tonight we're going out for Mexican. After last night, I'm definitely taking it easy, but it'll be so nice to go - we haven't been there in ages.
My WI at WW yesterday was great. I was down another 0.8 - I have yet to level off or gain since I hit goal, and I think I'm going to get through the last two weeks of maintenance and then reset my goal a little lower. I'm happy to have this problem for a change! I'm down 2.8 since I hit my goal, which puts me outside the WW maintenance range (2 pounds up/down from goal). But this goal is 5 pounds higher than my pre-baby goal, and maybe my body is trying to tell me something. :confused3 I guess we'll see what happens over the next couple of weeks. I did realize, though, that my current goal isn't a number I really want to see again, so if I set a new goal two pounds lower, then I'm obligated not to get there again. Maintaining is hard! But I'll take it. :)
XO
Liz
Hey. Doing better today, almost done with the antibiotics which is good because I think I'm allergic to penicillin. I dunno-- I always put it in my paperwork but my Mom can't remember if I am or not--I think it affects my breathing. :confused:
My daughter seems to be squared away with her school, transferring and such and it looks like she will be moving back here in the near future, so that's great, we're pretty happy about that.
That my fitness pal website is really helping me--I'm down about 5 pounds this week since my doctor visit last Monday. I'm sure 2-3 pounds of that was water weight because I was drinking so much being sick and not worrying about sodium, but I feel much more in control of my food now.
Its a habit for me now. However, I make sure I drink the recommended about by filling a 32 ounce glass twice over the course of the day. The bigger the glass I use the more I'm inclined to hit my water target.
Afternoon ::MickeyMo
I'm taking today off but I did get a few leg lifts in, some dancing around while I cleaned, and am working on my 2nd 32 ounce glass of water. I had scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast. Sandwich and string cheese for lunch. Dinner will be sirloin soup over mashed potatoes and a side of broc & cheese.
Alan is going to head to Walgreens later or tomorrow and get me a large dry erase calendar for my office. This will make it easier to track my goals for each month.
Tomorrow I plan on doing some wash, swimming, and starting a grocery list.
Everyone have a great night!
I try to drink all 64 oz every day. I have a old plastic orange juice jug that's 59 oz so I fill that up and try to make sure I've gotten that down before dinner. Then I know I'll just have 5 oz to go. Work-out days are a lot easier cause I can put down 40 oz in an hour easy.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Been feeling really yucky the past couple of days with my stomach... Ddad had come home with a touch of the stomach bug and I think he passed a little of it to me. Not feeling bad enough to take any medicine, just feeling ugh... After dinner yesterday, I had only eaten 900 calories (due to just not having an appetite) so I had to do some pita bread, hummus and milk to get my calories in. Sipping on some water right now.
Had a terrible storm blow through last night. Lots of thunder and lightning and pouring rain. Usually I love it; helps me sleep harder. But this was too much for even me to sleep through. I did make up for it by sleeping until after 10 am this morning. :goodvibes
Got some laundry to finish and then going to try to get a good walk in at the gym before kicking back to watch my new 'The Muppet Show' DVD's that I got today. :happytv:
jillbur- I love the Kingdom Keepers books. My oldest DD does as well. I will start reading it tonight. I finished my other book this morning. She's finishing Catching Fire and then going to read Mockingjay so I have time to read it. I would start with the first book!
Hi all,
Haven't been a good Tigger today. I had pretzel bites at the mall and then went to Unos for lunch. I had a Caesar salad and 2 burger sliders. I had a half of serving of M&Ms as I had a bad headache when I got home. For dinner I had a pork chop and some French fries. Not horrible but not great either.
Didn't get in a workout today as I was rushing around this morning and was finishing a book early this morning. Had a good day shopping. I got our new suitcases today. I bought Izzie two dresses for the cruise and Ash two shirts. Nothing for me today. I will do that in a few weeks when I have my act together and am where I want to be weight wise.
Signed up for a virtual library card so I had get books from the Boston Public Library for my Kindle Fire.
Watching a miniseries called The Witches of Oz that I recorded on Encore Family the other day.
On Friday I plan on cooking, decorating eggs and doing some more cleaning. If time we will go to KMart or Target.
Time to get the kids to bed and watch tv for awhile!
TTFN :tigger:
PS QOTD:
I usually drink 80-100oz of water a day most of it with mango aloe in it. I also drink Crystal Light and tea. I try to drink no more than 5 cans of soda a week. Sometimes I just need the caffeine!
Sorry I haven't responded to anyone today. I have a little bug and not feeling too well. (figures since I am on Spring Break). Feeling a little better right now. So I am going to post my last QOTD for tomorrow. I will try to catch up with you all tomorrow. :goodvibes
So as of today I will be MIA most days, Track has officially started and we have a very busy 6 weeks ahead of us.
DS15 did the 200 meter, the 1600 meter (1 mile), and the 4x400 relay. 200 was the very best, 1st in his heat with a time of 27.1 seconds with a headwind. Not to shabby for his first time out. 1600 meter time was 5.57 minutes.
Don't know what time his 4x400 was but it wasn't pretty. LOL
Anyway, we will be busy with races and practice but I will pop in when I can.
QOTD for April 5th:
Eating vegetables are so important for good health. What is your favorite way to eat your veggies? Do you have a recipe you would like to share?
Guess who didn't report her weight this week and is unlikely to report it this week? :rolleyes1 It's that bad. I am definitely stress eating. The morning starts out well and then I go downhill from there. Lunch is sometimes okay, but today was horrible. :mad:
I've been reading, but haven't been posting because I've been so off plan. I finally decided that the only way I'm going to get back OP is to admit to it and to commit to getting back on the wagon.
Here's to a better day tomorrow!
Ok this might be a novel of an update but I had a good day and i just need to share! It started off not so great, waking up 5 minutes before I had to leave! (I stayed up too late watching tv) but I rushed around and got out the door and got to class on time. My American Government class is one i usually hate, which is a shame because the subject matter is actually interesting to me, i just dont like the professor. But we are doing group projects and they are actually quite fun! We get to pretend to be senators and while I may be on a party i DO NOT agree with, its kind of fun to pretend to be important!
In my next class I got back my midterm and i got an A-!!! :cool1: This means I really do not have to worry about that class for the rest of the semester. This is good because really it was supposed to be my blowoff class and it was starting to be more difficult than i liked!
My last class is what really made my day though. This is probably the most important class of the semester, because I need at least a B in order to continue with my program, and it basically teaches you what to expect in our 400 level history classes. I really love this class, and i love the professor, he's super nice and helpful and really smart and i just admire him a lot. our project for the semester is a ten page research paper, which we've been working on for months, and ive put ALOT of work into. On monday we handed in outlines. Well today in class he singled out ME and two others for our exceptional outlines and handed them to the entire class! Then we had to present our topic to the whole class and talk about our outlines! I was nervous because I did not know this was happenining but I know my topic very well so I did a good job. Also, my professor was being evaluated by the head of the department, so that was even more nerveracking.
I was really proud that he singled out my work, and I am really considering sending him an email at the end of the semester (after grades are out) and thanking him for all his help this semester, but I don't know if that is appropriate. I'm also taking two classes with him next semester. I think the best part is I know I'm getting recognition because I put in the work, not just cause a professor likes me or i'm a favorite. That is possibly one of the best feelings ever. When I got home I had an email from him thanking the three of us for our terrific outilnes and great pressentations, and apologizing for putting us on the spot (which he obviously did because the department head was there, but we all knew the department head would be there). I really hope I am able to take my senior thesis with this professor as well.
So after all that, the dogs had a vet appointment and Scutter got his teeth cleaning moved from Wed to Fri. In the end I think this will be good, because I'm going to be a nervous wreck, and I only have a few hours work on friday instead of a whole day of school. And i just want it over with so I can stop worrying about him going under.
And finally for the best news of the day........I WENT RUNNING! After the vet it was still light out, and not too cold, and I already had the dogs in the car so I thought we would go for a walk. Once I'm on the trail all I can think about is running so I was like "why not". We only did 3/4 of a mile, because I wasn't dressed for running really and one of my dogs doesn't run that well, but we did it! 3 miles all together and i felt great about that. Dinner was sweet potato fries and a turkey burger.
Tomorrow I'm applying for a job at the childrens musuem. Cross your fingers for me and all your toes because this would be great! I have no jobs that involved children on my resume and I NEED that for the education program, so this would be perfect!
So all in all a pretty great day. I didn't go to group classes but I did still get out and do something. I can't believe its 9:30 already, i had wanted to write 2 pages of my paper...I don't know if that will happen.
Have a nice night everyone
What a great day. It's good when you have worked hard at something and that is recognised.
Good luck with the job tommorrow - when I am interviewing direct experience is less important than being the right sort of person (working with the elderly).
Love slicing up carrots and peppers and stir-frying them in a wok with broccoli, sweetcorn and sometimes pineapple and a tablespoon of sweet chilli sauce and a little water (to make a sauce)Served with egg noodles these make a delishous vegetarian meal or you an add some chicken for that little bit extra. Yum:)
CC you've seen my gains these last few weeks:scared1: Ithink reporting it has kept me from throwing in the towel and has helped me "face the music" so to speak:scared1: I'm glad you've been brave enough to own up to falling off the wagon now jump back on again:thumbsup2
UGH! I must be fighting a cold or something as I've been so tired the past two days and have not been able to do my workouts at 5. I will do a long one tonight while Brian and Ash are at soccer practice. Izzie and I are going to stay home tonight while they go. Just too chilly yet to be out there and she will just want to come home anyways. She and I can also play some video games while they are gone. I will also get in some workouts tomorrow since I don't have to go into work unless someone calls me. Kids and I will be home until noon and then we will go out and do anything we need to. We want to dye eggs tomorrow and make some candies so we will do that when they get up and later in the day.
Time to get off the couch and get my body moving!
Hmm...eating vegies isn't too hard for me because I pretty much like them any way. I like them raw in a salad or heated up from frozen or a can. But my favorite is roasted in the oven. You can roast any vegetable and it will be so delicious! My husband likes to grill them too, which I also enjoy. Now if only I could dip them in chocolate... :rotfl2:
