Holy smokes! I haven't been on here in 10 days and my head is spinning in the amount of stuff that has gone on. Grab a bottled water, healthy snack, kick your feet back, and prepare to read a novel, LOL.
Okay, well Alan and I will be together 4 years in July. It'll also be 4.5 years since Josh and Maddie passed away (my late husband & daughter for those who don't know the story were killed by a drunk driver in 2008. I was sole survivor of the accident).
Anyways, back to my long novel..
Originally we wanted to stay here locally and do something. We couldn't agree on anything and then a few days go by and I get the crazy hair up my butt. I booked us 3 nights in Vegas at Treasure Island. The flight was expensive but I couldn't beat the hotel price, 90 bucks a night!

<-- that was my shocked face when I saw the price online. We're going to kick back and relax. We'll fly in on a Thursday afternoon. We're going to see Bill Cosby at our hotel early Friday evening. Then I'm going over to the Wynn to see..... (drum roll please)
GARTH BROOKS!
I've always wanted to see him concert when I was younger. I never got the chance. So, yeah we spent WAY more then what I would normally for our anniversary but eh, you only live once.
Alan and I had been talking for weeks on and off about getting another pet. I told him I didn't want another cat. I wanted a small dog that we could mainly keep in the house. With having the inground pool put in our backyard we don't have a big enough yard now for 2 big dogs. So I scowered online looking to see what I could find. I had my heart set on a Boston terrier but we decided to go ahead and go to the SPCA and see what we could find.
I walked up and down the aisle of dogs a few times and nothing interested me at first. Then I walked back down the one aisle and a little guy caught my eye. I looked to see if he had a card on the kennel and we couldn't find one. We grabbed a volunteer and he found his card. He's a 10 month old terrier mix. His name on his card was "Banjo" but I didn't like it. So we changed it to 'Rosco". The card said he was house broken and they weren't sure how did with cats.
Long story short we filled out all the paperowork and Alan came back Monday afternoon to pick him up. They had neutered him Saturday afternoon after we left. I was real nervous on how Dublin was going to do. She's 8 years old and her whole life it was just her and her sister in my mom's house, and even when we took them last year.
Well, you can imagine my relief when we got Rosco in the house, they looked at each other, and went their seperate ways. Rosco followed Alan outside and came back in a few minutes later. Dublin came in from being on the back deck and she sniffed at him, didn't hiss or anything, and went and laid back in her bed. So, far so good. We had him in a crate last night, he cried for a few minutes, but calmed down.
I heard him barking early this morning when I was still in bed. I asked Alan when I got up what was wrong. He started to laugh and told me that Dublin had gone over to his bowl and tried eating his puppy chow. He barked at her to tell her to back off. Alan said she just looked at him and walked away. I bet he felt big and ferocious (sp),
Then today I was on FB and my friend tells me there was tornados in Dallas. I turned on CNN and sure enough! I was freaking out!! They had several touch down and one was fairly close to where my mom is working right now. I texted her (and several other friends and family) and they all texted throughout the next few hours to say they were okay. My mom said the hospital was under a CODE BLACK (basically tornado conditions). My brother was in Hurst bunkered down in his truck in a parking garage. Apparently his college is to d*mn cheap to invest in emergency notification systems for their students. He said the only reason kids were finding out what was going on was because they had parents texting them. Luckily, he made it safely back to my dad's house.
We texted the realtor that is managing our house and our next door enighbor. They both assured us that it wasn't that bad in our hometown, bunch of rain and high winds. Our neighbor assured us our house was okay.
So, its been a crazy day and I'm glad its over. Now I'm going to eat my Crunch bar. I was so stressed out I had to decide "Okay do I drink a few wine coolers or a chocolate bar?" Chocolate bar won.
**PICS OF ALAN & ROSCO**
Yep, that's Dub & Rosco on the back deck, feet from each other.
