Biggest Loser "No Excuses" 2012 Team Challenge for Losers and Maintainers!!!

Remember how I said that one of my goals for this challenge was to fit in a Cinderella dress my mom made for me 4 years ago but couldn't fit in and that I wanted to wear to an upcoming convention in my hometown? Well...

GOAL ACHIEVED!!! party:

 Time for a happy dance!!
Congrats!!!

QOTD LAST CHANCE WORKOUT, PEOPLE! Pretend your favorite trainer from The Biggest Loser is watching and motivating you today. We are quickly approaching our Friday weigh in. What can you do to up the ante for the weigh in? Can you get in a little bit more workout time? Can you up the intensity if you are low on time? Can you make better food choices? Try it until the weigh in and see if it makes a difference for you. Remember... the only difference between TRY and TRIUMPH is just a little UMPH!!

Love this:rotfl2:. I'm a day late (again) answering but I track everything that crosses my lips and drink loads of water:)

Good Friday morning everyone.

We made it through another week. My ds2 is coming home today to pack up his room and tomorrow we are going down to take his things down. He has a small room and he is only moving into a studio. Dh keeps thinking of things he might need but at least he hasn't bought anything. I don't know how much he really needs. DH seems to keep forgetting all the stuff he has at college.

I am very excited about the discount I got for our Aug trip.. Someone commented that I saved a lot. We are staying in the ASMu family suites on the weekend so that is why it was so much. we needed a place that will sleep 6 since our ds's are joining us.
Congrats on the discount-leaves more $ for souveneirs:thumbsup2
My classes are getting very nervous about their test next week. I have spent the last two days buying candy for them. I buy candy and the special ed class makes up goodie bags for them. I have to tell the kids exactly how many of each to put into the bags. Yesterday was battery changing day in my 2nd year classes. I think they are as ready as they ever will be.

Question of the Day We are now 2 weeks away from the end of this challenge. What are you going to do to finish strong?

I have been done some of the HH but I think I am going to really work at them and try to remember to send them into cc.

Have a happy and healthy day.

I recommited to this challenge on monday and at my weigh-in today I had lost a pound:cool1: I'm going to continue to track all I eat and drink and walk for 30 minutes after dinner each evening regardless of the weather;)

Welcome to Healthy Habits Week of 5/4: Peter Pan's Flight

Peter Pan is one of my first Disney movies. Tinkerbelle has a place in my heart. I enjoy the story line and how it is recreated on Peter Pan’s Flight in Fantasyland. I always find something “new” when I ride this attraction. Most of the characters in the movie (aka not the villians) have strength, courage, smarts, and gratitude. In their honor…

I’m pretty sure that flying is considered exercising. I’m not sure that it’s the exercise I’d pick, however. 1. Your “Habit” is to exercise for at least 15 minutes.

What adventure wouldn’t be complete without water? 2. This week, your “Habit” is to drink a total of 64 oz. of water each day.

The “Lost Boys” ate just about anything. Well, our bodies deserve the best. 3. Eat 5 servings of fruits and veggies in total per day.

Wendy loved to read. It was her way of relaxing. 4. Each day, spend some time relaxing. Again, if you think it counts, it counts!

Mini-Challenges:

1. I am hoping to never have to walk the plank, but just in case, courage will come in handy. Do something you would not ordinarily do. (This does not have to be sky diving or running on the beach. It’s entirely up to you. My plan is to spend some time playing the piano for the first time since this time last year.) Note: We are all courageous people. I just think it would be fun to try something different. Thanks to donac for this idea!

2. It may not be the focus of the movie, but I have noticed that the non-villain characters are very thankful. Write a list of 10 things for which you are thankful.

Please, please feel free to ask any questions. You are welcome to PM me or post on the thread.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Once again you've posted a GREAT HH for us CC!! I especially love the mini challenges! You rocked it this week! Not sure exactly what I will do that is "courageous", but you got me thinking!

I went ahead and weighed this morning because I really should be paying attention to how my body is doing rather than hiding from the scale. Needless to say I was shocked when I was down another 1.4lbs. Less exercise, ate around 1500 calories a day (before exercise, but I kind of planned to try it). It's nice to know that I can eat a little more if I want and still be on track. I am now .9 away from the 130s! :dance3:

WOOHOOO!!

Had a NSV last night. Went out to the casino and didn't get home until 10:30. It wasn't planned so I still hadn't exercised and instead of going to sleep I popped in Jillian Michaels and worked out. Was in bed by 11:30, satisfied.

OMG! That is impressive! I am SO not a night person that I couldn't even fathom this!

Last day of classes, today! Have to go "grocery" shopping afterwards and pick up a whole cart of frozen veggies because it seems I have finally ate them all. Then I finally get to have a nice restful weekend.

Have a wonderful day and hope your weigh-ins were great!!

You are doing so great!!

***************

Happy FRIDAY everyone!! Another rainy day here...:( But the weather report for tomorrow looks a bit more promising, which will be nice for prom pictures.

Another day with yet another crazy long to-do list. I finally got some pictures ordered yesterday at Walgreens, but I was still having issues with the website. Initially I couldn't log on with google chrome, but when I switched to Internet Explorer I got on..... but then of course, the stupid IE kept causing the website to freeze! Very frustrating. Finally got two large order placed, which included all of the swim pictures that I currently plan to scrap from 2006 through 2009. If I can find the time today I will order 2010 and 2011 and then I can get started on scrapping and hopefully keep current for the summer and next school year and be all set when her graduation party arrives!

I'd also like to do just a few pages about Rainbow Girls and just a few other high school events (NHS induction, We The People competition) before she graduates. But other than swim she hasn't had time to be involved with much, so I don't have too much to worry about!

I also need to order a big bunch of pictures for a "100 Reasons we love you" book for my DMIL. This scrapbook was originally DD's idea a few years ago, but we never got around to doing it. Then DSIL called me last fall with the idea of at least STARTING the book before DMIL's 89th birthday last October and then continuing it and hopefully completing it before her 90th birthday this year (or at LEAST getting 90 of the 100 done!). The idea was SUPPOSED to be that all of her children, grandchildren, etc all do a page or two about her, including pictures of themselves with her, etc. But of COURSE, no one has! Well... actually, my DBIL's significant other did manage to do about 4 really cute pages about/for their twin girls, so that was nice. And I did a few pages.... one about me and her, one about my family and her. But that is about it. We tried to get some pages done last weekend while I was at the Cape, but one SIL (the hostess last weekend) was far too distracted looking around for more pictures, etc. One other SIL, whom I ADORE, drove me nuts complaining about how she hates scrapping!! And yet another just kept asking me if she was doing it "right'. I kept trying to reassure her that I consider it "art" and if she liked what she was doing that it was good enough because it was HER ART! But she never even managed to get a photo stuck to a page. Overall it was a frustrating attempt and I ended up coming home with ALL of the photos and semi-started pages. Looks like it is up to ME to complete this book by October. While I will consider it a labor of love, it is still definitely going to take lots of time! I've already spent a few HOURS going through years of digital photos and compiling a folder full of images of DMIL through the years. Next up, decide which ones to print, place the order, and then get started!

Also on today's agenda is getting DD"s bathroom cleaned, planning some meals for the weekend, since my parents will be here, pulling out the trundle for my folks and throwing on some clean sheets, vacuuming the entire house, and making sure that DD has EVERYTHING ready for prom tomorrow! I feel SO BADLY that she can't relax more and enjoy this time.

Her stress level must be crazy right now and there is almost nothing I can do to help. She had a 7 am AP US History study session this morning before school. She has a 3pm AP Chemistry study session this afternoon. Then I will pick her up at 4pm and take her straight to swim. She will arrive home from swim about 9 pm and hopefully can crash as soon as she has eaten something. Tomorrow morning, bright and early, we drive 30 minutes away to bring her to SAT's, which last until about 1pm. Then we will grab some lunch and bring her to the hairdresser for a 2:30 appointment for her "fancy" hair for Prom. While sitting in the hairdresser's chair she has asked me to possibly paint her nails and quiz her with chemistry flashcards! Then she will dash home, throw on some make-up and her dress, take a few photos, and then I will drive her 30 minutes to her friend's house, where we will take a few more photos and she will go to Prom with this friend.

I will pick her up in town from Prom at midnight (can't get a ride home with this friend because this girl's parents are expecting her to leave before Prom ends). DD has been invited to a few after-prom events, including an all-girls sleep-over, but she has begged off as she KNOWS she will be exhausted and not really up for a night of movies and girl talk. Sunday will be church and study, study, study for Monday's AP Chemistry exam. :worship: Honestly, I don't know how she hasn't collapsed in a HEAP! She also has two more AP tests she is getting ready for. :scared1: She is going to need a nice long NAP very soon!

Anyhow, enough rambling on here. I got on early here because I dropped DD at school early, but now if I don't get moving I'm going to ramble away all of my "extra" time! DS called to say he forgot something he needs for today, so after I eat I will be driving BACK to town to bring it to him... But of course, I also was supposed to pick up the mower from the repair guy this morning and I forgot to do that, so I will make that side trip also.

TTYL...............................P

Question of the Day We are now 2 weeks away from the end of this challenge. What are you going to do to finish strong?

I am going to diligently (and accurately) track everything I eat and drink. Even the zero point stuff - that way I'm used to tracking EVERYTHING! Also, my goal, besides rest days, is to get in two workouts a day, with the goal of it equaling two hours. A run and strength training, strength training then a bike ride, a run then a bike ride, a run then a yoga dvd - it doesn't sound too hard. I have noticed that when I work out twice in a day more days in a week than not, I have a much better weight loss.

Interesting! I don't think I actually had my blood pressure checked since January for a fitness test and it was still normal. I haven't felt bad at all, so perhaps that is normal for me!

Good luck with weigh-in today!!

I think I may actually participate in the HH this week. Just stay on track and keep on truckin'. I believe the last day of this challenge, or close to it, is the day of my half-marathon. So I guess I really am going out with a bang. :cool1:

Have a fab day everyone!

Melinda, thanks for coaching this week! You did a great job! :flower3:

And a big BL :welcome: to our new coach, Dona!

Remember how I said that one of my goals for this challenge was to fit in a Cinderella dress my mom made for me 4 years ago but couldn't fit in and that I wanted to wear to an upcoming convention in my hometown? Well...

GOAL ACHIEVED!!! party:

:woohoo: for reaching your goal! party: You are living the dream, baby! We all want to be maintainers someday. ::yes::

Remember... the only difference between TRY and TRIUMPH is just a little UMPH!!

:thumbsup2 My UMPH was missing for a bit but I think I've found it now.

I read about people taking 2 Immodium before their long runs. Have you heard of this? I wonder what the risks/side effects are taking Immodium as a preventative measure? I'll have to ask my husband, but I'm pretty sure he will say his typical doctor answer: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I've read about taking immodium, too, but I worry how it would affect my hydration. I do carry a couple with me because I've had runner's tummy issues in the past but I haven't had to resort to them.

The standard doctor's answer sounds a lot like the standard lawyer's answer. ;)

Glad that your IT band is feeling better!

Buffy, I am sad to say I haven't been on MFP lately either. We can do it! :goodvibes

Pamela, sounds like a busy week-end at your house. I'm sure your daughter will look lovely. princess:

Hi JacksLilWench! Nice to see you! :wave2:

Great HH, CC! :flower3:

Jill, good luck at your WI today at WW! :goodvibes Can't wait to hear how you do!

::SnowWhite:: great job with a loss AND a NSV! :yay:

So, who all is in for the next Biggest Loser Challenge after this one ends? I am!!

I am! :yay: I will be coaching the first week.

Janis, will be looking for coaches so consider volunteering. It's easy to pick a good week when you volunteer early! :cool2: Please help our lovely hostess and send her a PM today.

I'm a samer but it is where I deserve to be. My half is coming up as well as my last long run so I am putting together my plan for the rest of the month and getting to it! ::yes::

So, who all is in for the next Biggest Loser Challenge after this one ends? I am!!

Me, too! I've really loved this one (my first) and want to keep the maintenance momentum going into the summer!

Question of the Day We are now 2 weeks away from the end of this challenge. What are you going to do to finish strong?

This is really timely, as I won't be running again yet by the time the challenge ends. So my strong finish is going to come from staying committed to exercising and keeping my conditioning going while I can't run. The toe is getting better, but I still have a week and a half to go in the shoe cast, ugh!

This week has been bananas. DH and DD5 both got a stomach bug. DD7 and I have avoided it (knock wood!), and we're all better enough now that we have a sitter coming tonight so DH and I can go out to dinner and a movie. Or two. :)

I got up a bit late this morning - so lazy after a busy week! - and did some work. Now I'm going to log some time on the exercise bike before doing the grocery shopping and my Wegmans lunch (my Friday tradition - I love it!). Then back to work this afternoon before out date. Yesterday was so busy that I didn't get any bike time, and I'm determined not to miss two days in a row! Tomorrow is DD7's piano recital, and we're taking them to see The Pirates in the morning. The recital is late afternoon, so I should be good to go for more biking after we get home from dinner out.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, and I hope I'm not quite so crazy busy next week and can check in more! :)

XO
Liz

Pamela keep MIL's book simple!! Since you are doing most of it and only one other person did pages, run with those colors if you can. Stick with a basic color palette to use through the whole album.

Tell DD we are hoping for smooth sailing this weekend and into next week. She will do well! But I've have some ice cream, a girlie movie and fuzzy slippers ready and waiting so she can decompress after exams.

Melinda As always, I'm in for the summer challenge. It's a bit more mellow over summer because people are busy.

Lisa OK we will make a date for MFP today. That is our daily goal.

Oh and I totally forgot my NSV. I have a pair of tiny 16 petite jeans that I wear when I paint. Well last time I painted the kitchen I couldn't wear them but I tried them on for fun and while they were tight I could button and zipper them!! So, even though the scale isn't budging much, things are definitely changing!!
Oh and my 18 AE jeans (that I just bought a few months ago) are way to big to continue wearing!:cool1:
 because they are new and I feel like it was such a waste of money but :cool1: because they are too big!
And today I'm wearing a pair of St John's Bay skinny jeans and they are falling off so I had to borrow DS15's belt to hold them up (can't find mine)

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I'm in for the next challenge!

I'm way up today and I fully deserve it (still in onderland, though!). I've been in a grumpy place the last couple weeks and have been eating crummy. I feel like I've had PMS forever, even cramps with nothing to show for it. I truly hate perimenopause and just wish this whole stage of my life was over!

BUT, I turned in hh points, weight and win measurements. My win was up :worried: but I noticed that if I just lose a wee bit more this month I will have lost 20 inches from a year ago! So that is my new motivation. :cheer2:

Pamela, for DD.

For HH's something out of the ordinary I think I may break out the in line skates. Years and years and years ago we bought a set for the entire family. Obviously the kid ones are long gone, but I still have mine. The weather is supposed to get better and I'll just be brave and not care how foolish I look flailing around!

Have a super weekend, Losers!

Good Friday morning everyone.

Question of the Day We are now 2 weeks away from the end of this challenge. What are you going to do to finish strong?

Have a happy and healthy day.

Whaaaaaaaa?? Two weeks left in the challenge?? Where the heck did the challenge go?! I will be making my plans to join the next one and sticking to my points strictly the next two weeks!!

So, who all is in for the next Biggest Loser Challenge after this one ends? I am!!

Ooooo, pick me!!!

Good luck on the race! Make sure and let us know how it goes! And congrats on the weight loss! That is awesome! I love frozen veggies - the green giant ones with the sugar snap peas, and the one with the potatoes. YUM!!

Thanks! If you're talking about the vegetable medley with the potatoes, red peppers and sugar snap peas. The ones you put in the microwave? They are SO delicious. I have tons of those in the freezer.

So, who all is in for the next Biggest Loser Challenge after this one ends? I am!!

Me! Me! Me! I still have about 15lbs to lose, I can't stop now!! :yay:

Afternoon, folks!

I...am...done...with...CLASSES! :banana::banana:
Now I can focus on my last 3 tests and Disney! :dance3:

Went to the store and picked up 18 bags of vegetables today. Then I made myself a veggie sandwhich and then roasted some peas, carrots, broccoli, and peppers in the oven. :lovestruc

Was driving through the university and saw a girl running in a sports bra and leggings. Dang, she had some amazing abs. :worship: Gave me some motivation, to know that they are actually real and not just in photos. :rotfl2:

I justed wanted to stop by and say hello. I have cked in to read every few days but that's about it since my vaca.

We had a great time, cruise, UO/IOA, KSC...came back and had 2 fleet week tours a well as a broken washer(need a new one) and a slipping trans in the car(need another one there as well). A bit of stress eating going on with that.

I will try and knock a couple of the gained lbs back off but my 2DS and I go back to WDW in just over 2 wks for out annual homeschool conv and sww! Lots of fun, bad for the waistline! Can't wait for the Beachclub,I could move in there no problem.

I will definately be back for the next BL challenge. I still have many lbs to go.

I am so excited from reading that more of you want to participate in Healthy Habits! You can ALWAYS PM me and report that you earned 1 point. There are many weeks when I earn under 10 points and still report my name on the list of participants. Everyone who participates gets entered into the "hat" for a prize. I actually just started taking inventory of the prizes I have and there are quite a few left. I will finish checking out my stash of prizes after I announce what I was planning to post before reading all of your posts.

Attention! Attention! You are approaching a moving platform. We are approaching the end of our Spring Challenge. I already have the last week of Healthy Habits somewhat planned. Whoever "wins" the prize for that week will receive the remaining prizes I have. I plan to start fresh with new prizes for the Summer Challenge.

Now, that being said, I'm going to need some help with the last week so a few of you will be receiving a PM. That also means that I plan to coach HH in the summer. :cool1:

I'm in for the next challenge though I will be away for almost two weeks. I will need to get back into shape after the cruise, I'm sure!

Down 3 pounds for the week!:cool1: Don't know if I'll get any workouts in the rest of the weekend though I will try!

Home from a night out with the 6th grade. Dancing, games, movies and just friends hanging out! Very well-behaved!

Time to treat myself to a drink! Busy day tomorrow and Sunday!

TTFN :tigger:

I'm in for the next challenge!

I'm way up today and I fully deserve it (still in onderland, though!). I've been in a grumpy place the last couple weeks and have been eating crummy. Me too:hug:

Ok confession time...I haven't been weighing in because I haven't liked mu numbers and this week I'm up almost 4lbs! That seems crazy to me!!! I haven't been eating anything crazy and I've been working out! So its time to buckle down. I feel REALLY discouraged because I've been working so hard and now i'm starting to slack and its catching up with me. My stomach doesn't even look flat anymore (it was starting to!) and that is so not what I want. I'm wondering if its water weight? Bloating? Does you stomach literally bloat when your bloated?

So I'm feeling really down today, doubly so because i felt so exhausted last night I got almost no studying in. I just kept falling asleep. i don't even feel worried about finals right now, just depressed that i feel...fat.

I could use a pep talk.

Today is a haircut (first one in two years), then study study study. Boyfriend is stopping by to say hi at some point. I think I will have time to go to the gym right after work tomorrow. I will make myself. Even if it's busy!

Trina, aren't you in the middle of the end of semester crunch and just started an intense new workout program? You're under a lot of stress right now and that could be affecting how your body is reacting.

Here is a sparkpeople article about stress and how it affects your loss. http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/wellness_articles.asp?id=434

I'm thinking that it is either the stress or plain old TOM that might be doing a number on you or both. Whatever it is, it will pass. So take some deep breaths, keep doing what you are doing and you will make it to where you want to be! :hippie:

:wave2:

I was going to try to catch up on some replies but just don't have time. Having an okay week. I stayed within my points daily and weekly points allowed last week but had a lot of weekly ones left over at the end of the week so I "splurged" Friday and Saturday. Still had a few weeklies left but by Tuesday the splurge showed up on the scale :( Not sure that idea of saving them for something special really works. So I have spent most of this week just making up for that. I am showing one pound down so hopefully I will at least have a -1 to report for tomorrow.

BUT, yesterday I lost it at lunch! We ordered out and I had a plan to make good choices. Ordered the chicken gyro, sauce on the side and pasta salad instead of potato salad or fries. I hate pasta salad so I wasn't going to eat that, was going to only eat half the pita and the chicken with a small amount of sauce. Would have been about 8 -10 points. Well the food came and the pasta salad was not the normal mayo and onions and peas stuff I hate. It was a greek sort of thing with something creamy and it was AMAZING! So said to heck with it, cut up the chicken and mixed it with the pasta and really enjoyed lunch. Then someone had a cake of some sort and I had a very small piece of that. It was kind of like banana bread so that is how I counted it. So that entire meal added up to. . . .

21 points!!!:scared1::faint: ( I get 26 points a day!) I had plenty of weekly points to cover it but after last week's experience I know better. I would have been better off getting the beef/lamb gyro (which I love), with sauce and the whole pita! For dinner I had a a huge stir fry of broccoli, carrots, mushrooms and zucchini made with olive oil spray and chicken broth and about 4 oz of steak. Planning on a light meals day today and hopefully won't have that come back to bite me next week. :headache:

I am having a lot of trouble finding clothes for work. Yeah, I know, cry me a river, I can't find smaller size clothes, but I am getting into a real problem. If I weren't working then the few pairs of jeans and t shirts I have would be fine but part of the problem is I really don't want to spend a lot of money on clothes in a size I hope to be out of in a few months! I can not find any blue or tan pants for the life of me. I keep finding plenty of black but nothing in other colors. I have been to both of our local Goodwill's several times, been to the mall, Target, Walmart and a few other places. Going to try Kmart today. I know they don't have a good reputation but I have actually had good luck finding plus size clothes there and ours is pretty nice. And now it is downright hot here and I need short sleeve stuff which I don't have. I wore a few things in my old size to work this week and one of my coworkers told me I really needed to get rid of the huge stuff (she wasn't being mean, was complimenting me on my loss) I wore an outfit that fits really well on Friday and got a lot of compliments on it. I do have some skirts and dresses but I really prefer pants.

Need to do my meal planning for the week. DH has been sick this week and since he does most of the cooking that really threw us off. I had to scramble to figure out something for the girls and I that I could make and would be OP for me. Hopefully he will get over this by Monday. He feels miserable. DD12 is at GS camp this weekend so need to see what DD16 wants to have tonight.

LTS have you checked Penneys yet??

Or how about getting your stuff altered?

***********************

Yeah baby!!! Went to my father's ambulance dedication today. I saw a few people from town who I haven't seen since pulling the kids out and I saw my Aunt, my brother, SIL and my Memere (grandma) whom I haven't seen since Christmas and everyone noticed my weight loss!!! :cool1: I guess 10 pounds on this short body can make a difference. And everyone loved my hair (chopped it off).

And I was wearing heels so of course I was taller and carried myself differently.

YAY me!

And DS15 and his friend didn't survive the Zombie Apocalypse. But it was "The best worst day of my life".
