Biggest Loser "No Excuses" 2012 Team Challenge for Losers and Maintainers!!!

Hi everyone!

I'm back! We got back last night, and I've been playing catch-up ever since. This will be a quick update; I don't have a prayer of going back to catch up on QOTDs and replies, unfortunately!

DH and I left Friday morning for New York. We took our time driving and had a nice lunch at Red Robin in PA on the way. We got in around 3:30, checked into the hotel, and then I picked up friends at the train station. Friday night was a blur, and that might have had a little something to do with the six (!!) glasses of wine I drank. Holy wow. I tracked them all, at least, as well as dinner!

Amazingly, I wasn't hung over on Saturday. We slept in and had a late breakfast at the hotel, then went to a local winery for a tasting. Came back and got ready for the wedding. I got to wear my pretty new shoes despite the broken toe! I was super careful about my footing, so it wasn't another 6-glass night on the wine. ;) I danced a *little* bit, enjoyed the beautiful wedding and reception and our time with friends, and had a great time. We took the shuttle back to the hotel and hung out for another couple of hours before crashing.

DH and I left to drive home around 9am on Sunday. We stopped in DE to have lunch with dear friends in Wilmington. I got on the exercise bike for 45 minutes last night and again tonight - about 24km each time! Definitely working off the wedding, but I think I'm going to go ahead and do my May WW lifetime weigh-in tomorrow. I'm feeling pretty good about maintaining despite the indulgent weekend. It was all worth it!

Commuting day tomorrow and then an evening out with a girlfriend. Things should start to look sort of normal again around Wednesday...

One quick shout-out:  You go, CC! Hooray for biggest loser!

congrats cc on being the biggest loser!

melinda that's right about corral placement. i have my 2:22 time from the princes 2011 but hoping to improve by the time i get to the full in wdw in january. i just want to be in a better corral so i have lots of 'extra" time to finish! i certainly won't be breaking any records during the marathon!

bamb congrats on your 5k! wow your son is super fast!!

luvpoohandcompany,[/B] hope you don't mind I'm joining you on the recommitment! :flower3:
Always great to have some company:goodvibes

Thanks to everyone for the welcome back and kind words:goodvibes
MONDAY QOTDPlease share your favorite breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals. Snacks, too, if you like. What do you eat that leaves you satisfied and you still feel OP for the day?

Think I'm going to be a day behind answering questions:lmao: Thanks for coaching this week:thumbsup2

Breakfast- I usually have home-made granola and a cuppa tea (hot) or some fresh fruit and yoghurt.

Lunch- my favourite is curried carrot soup or tortilla "pizza" and salad.

Dinner- I love curries, bolognese, or chicken chow mein (all home-made so they're lower in fat and higher in vegetables):)

Snacks - thanks to Pamela I discovered the joy of houmous with crudites. I also snack on almonds and fruit.

Wow, 2:22 is a fabulous time! I'm hoping for a 2:anything at my next half (Fargo May 19) and hope to work up to a 2:40ish by Wine & Dine. You're doing the full in January? I'll be doing the half. I hope to see you there!

===============
Well, the knee/IT band is getting a little less sore, but I have an appointment to see an orthopedist on Wednesday. I just want to make sure I'm doing all I can to help this because my next race is in 3 weeks - May 19 in Fargo, ND. Stressful night with my kids last night: my 17 year old daughter was just being so opinionated and mouthy. C'est la vie!

Have a great OP day everyone!

TUESDAY QOTD PLATEAUS - we all have had them. What can you do before the next weigh in to really kick your weight loss into high gear to either get over a plateau or to help ensure that you will not have one?

Monday QOTD: Breakfast mint chocolate cafe latte healthy meal shake
Lunch- Protein bar or shake
Dinner- Eggplant parmesan

Tonight will be burgers

Tuesday QOTD: I plan on doing a different workout. Probably the WATP 4 Fast miles with intervals!

Slept in this morning kind of. I will do sit ups later and also the elliptical during BL.

I have to rub the pork that I will put in the crock pot in the morning. Ash and I also have to mix her cookie dough for her project. I will probably bake those tomorrow night with her so they will be already for Friday.

Ash changed the bandage this morning. It's still sore and gross looking she said but no more mole! She has dancing tonight and I have to pick up stuff at Shaw's that I didn't get last night because I forgot my coupons!

Time to take Izzie to school, stop and get a cup of tea at the Wellness Center and head to work. 2 clients today!

Have a great Tuesday!

Liz- Glad you had a good time on your trip!!

TUESDAY QOTD PLATEAUS - we all have had them. What can you do before the next weigh in to really kick your weight loss into high gear to either get over a plateau or to help ensure that you will not have one?

Well, I haven't really had a "plateau" yet. When I gained .2 randomly, it was more of me whining about nothing. :lmao:

I have been very fortunate so far to not have this happen yet, but the day before I weigh in now, I try and keep my sodium under control and drink lots of water. I'm generally less naughty about what I eat that day too so I keep it all healthy. Not unlike other days, but I may skip that chocolate, you know. :rolleyes1

----
Didn't exercise yesterday...woke up this morning and grumbled all the way through 30DS. I absolutely hate working out in the mornings but I knew it wouldn't get done if I didn't do it now. It was just as miserable as I thought it was going to be, but I made it through and it is only 8:30 in the morning!

I looked in the mirror while I was getting dressed this morning and actually said "I look really cute!!" My friend and I always laugh at how much confidence I have, even before trying to lose this weight. I just think it's a shame when there are beautiful women who continuously put themselves down and here I am a plain jane who apparently stole everyone's self-esteem. But that's a good thing, right? :goodvibes

Say something nice about yourselves today, you deserve it. :thumbsup2

Have a wonderful day!

bamb congrats on your 5k! wow your son is super fast!!

have a great OP day. it will be hard to be good on this crummy day.

Thanks! He's been running since 4th grade and he's in 10th now. His coach was my classmate and he's been running since age 6. Our elementary school has a 5k run every spring and Coach still holds the record. 3 miles in 14:48. So DS has a great role model for running. We were all really impressed with his time this weekend, he's come a long way. I asked him if he pushed hard or cruised and he said he just cruised. I'm so jealous!!!

Today he does the 3200 at our meet (2 miles). Hopefully he does well!!

I hear you about the crummy day!! I'm pretty much drank my calories for the day in the form of Starbucks just to attempt to stay awake. I need to get the treadmill off blocks so I can undo some of the damage done with crappy choices. (raised it for the storms last week - potential for flooding) I see a salad in my future for dinner!!!!
Guess I should go log my food for the day on MFP, ergh!
Can I just go take a nap instead?

Pamela, thank goodness for the backup! :thumbsup2 Have you ever tried Carbonite? It's an online backup and it backs up offsite automatically. Having an external hard drive is good but if you have to store it offsite to avoid having everything wiped if something happened at home, God forbid. We use it for our office and it works great!

And while I am not an experienced prom person, I think it would be nice if you got your DD and her friend both corsages. :flower3:

I'm lucky that I bounced back to my same number I've been at for a couple of weeks. The way I've been eating I could easily have found myself with a gain. With four weeks until my next half marathon it is way past time for me to get ahold of myself, recommit and get a good solid plan in place for the rest of the summer. :beach:

Have a great day all!

Will give myself lessons this week on using the external drive. No more leaving it up to DH's random backups!

Talked with DD about flowers. I think I will be buying a small bouquet for DD and her friend. She was concerned that a wrist corsage would get in the way and be awkward. I haven't ordered anything and am thinking of going into Concord Sat. morning and buying flowers and making up the bouquets myself....just not sure about how to wrap the stems.

MONDAY QOTDPlease share your favorite breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals. Snacks, too, if you like. What do you eat that leaves you satisfied and you still feel OP for the day?

Breakfast....it has evolved and changed a lot over the years. Current favorite is a 3 eggwhite patty in a low carb tortilla with a wedge of Laughing Cow cheese and baby spinach...plus coffee with skim or tea. Some times I also add sauteed onions, peppers, broccoli...whatever is handy as leftovers or whatever I have time to cook.

Other favorites include steel cut oats, low carb pita with natural peanut butter, greek yogurt with fruit, or cottage chese with fruit.

Lunch.....changes too often to state one favorite, but virtually always starts with a huge salad. Sometimes it is just a salad topped with beans, cheese, egg whites, nuts, hummus, or leftover meat or fish. Sometimes a salad without protein plus a sandwich (organic ham, turkey, or tuna or a veggie burger) a low carb tortilla, wrap, or pita.....or salad plus dinner leftovers.

Sometimes in winter when I want a hot lunch and I'm home I will make a big serving of veggie stir fry.

Dinner.....all over the board! Usually a lean protein plus a huge quantity of vegetables. Tonight was hamburg soup....perfect for a rainy day. It did have some potato but mostly carrots, onions, and celery.

Snacks are most often fruit or cheese (love Babybel light). Evening treats include fresh berries, Vitamuffins, nuts, or a bit of the newly discovered Philadelphia milk chocolate cream cheese on low carb toast! Tastes like chocolate cheesecake!

Breakfast:
Enjoy Life GF Cinnamon Raisin Granola (also oat-free) with Lactaid (also like rice milk)

Lunch:
Turkey and cheddar cheese melted on a product called Corn Thins (They are GF and 22 calories each!)

Dinner:
I'm not really fussy. I love chicken with pasta and sauce/veggies. Turkey tacos are another fave. I also like roasted pork tenderloins, roast whole chickens, and roasted turkey breasts. I prefer breast meat and my parents like wings, drumsticks, and thighs so a whole chicken is great for us.

Snacks:
Fruit like an apple, a banana, or a plum
Cut up veggies like peppers and carrots

Just a quick question ( or 2) about the corn thins....are they small like crackers or big like bread? Are they made with non-GMO corn?

Here we celebrate our progress and recognize our superstars.

Reminders:
-after 3 weeks of no reporting, you are dropped from the challenge – can re-start at any time, though
-if anybody knows they will miss weighing in, just PM and let me know and you’ll be marked excused

Biggest Loser Fall Challenge Week 17!
This week’s group loss = 30.0 pounds!
Average percentage of weight lost 0.45 %
Total group weight loss so far 1022.4 pounds!
Yahoo, we've topped 1,000!!!

AWESOME!

Retention Rate (compared to the 144 participants we had sign up for our start week on January 1st)
25% (this includes the Losers, Maintainers and Excused people!). Let's keep sending those weights people!

Before the weekly superstar list comes the disclaimer. I am human and I make mistakes. If you have any questions please contact me. For your reference this is the magic percentage of weight lost formula - weight loss for the week divided by weight for last week times 100, that gives us the percentage. Now let me test that with my numbers for week 1, click, click, click goes the calculator. Yes, that agrees with the percentage on the magic spreadsheet. (btw if its been more than 1 week between weigh-ins, then the % loss is divided by the number of weeks, to keep everybody on the same basis)

Now let's get to the good stuff. Who were our superstars of week 17?

Quote from Dare2Dream: How is your week going? Are you OP (on program)? Are you exercising? Drinking that water? You know what to do to make the magic happen. Get on the wagon. We are all here to help you on the journey. We can do this one day at a time. One bite at a time.

Have a healthy day!
Congratulations cclovesdis!!!

!
HUGE congrats to you CC! I'm happy for you!

WTG to everyone on the list! Great job keeping up even this far into the challenge!

TUESDAY QOTD PLATEAUS - we all have had them. What can you do before the next weigh in to really kick your weight loss into high gear to either get over a plateau or to help ensure that you will not have one?

Believe it or not, I find that a day of eating MORE followed by getting right back OP will actually help kick out a plateau. But it has taken a long time of experimentation and record keeping to discover this.

Monday QOTD: Breakfast mint chocolate cafe latte healthy meal shake
Lunch- Protein bar or shake
Dinner- Eggplant parmesan

Tonight will be burgers

Log that food! Then put it behind you and move on. DD and I were talking about you and DS today...all good stuff, of course:thumbsup2. We were reminiscing about our trip last year about this time. Sad we can't return this year.

**********

Good evening friends! Bible study this morning followed by errands ( prom jewelry, groceries, pool store, etc), then just made it to pick up DS at the bus stop in the rain. Then 1 hour at home to start dinner and pack DD's swim bag and head to the high school to grab her from her after school study session and take her to swim. Then home again to eat and do a few home tasks. So THAT is why I'm just stopping by now!

Did find a few different selections at Macy's for DD to choose from for prom "bling". Fortunately the most expensive choice doesn't go real well with the dress, so there is a good chance I'll get out of this on the cheap!:rolleyes1 Also grabbed her a metallic clutch that matches the shoes fairly well, so hopefully those will both see a repeat performance next year!

Looking forward to tonight's BL finale. I'm hoping that DH will offer to pick up DD at the Y later so I can watch it on time.

See you tomorrow!...........P

I know!! I want to be there now for the race! Next year DS11 and I might do it.

DS and DH will be up in your neck of the woods Saturday. DS is running the zombie 5K in Amesbury Mass. Hopefully he won't get caught by zombies!!! LOL

Thanks! :) Glad you enjoyed the wedding and your weekend!

congrats cc on being the biggest loser!

Thanks! :) (I hear you on the weather. :()

Always great to have some company:goodvibes

Dinner- I love curries, bolognese, or chicken chow mein (all home-made so they're lower in fat and higher in vegetables):)

Homemade gets a :thumbsup2!

the knee/IT band is getting a little less sore, but I have an appointment to see an orthopedist on Wednesday.

Glad it's feeling better.

TUESDAY QOTD PLATEAUS - we all have had them. What can you do before the next weigh in to really kick your weight loss into high gear to either get over a plateau or to help ensure that you will not have one?

The 2 things that I have to do are drink plenty of water and eat GF. If I eat gluten, I see a big gain. :headache:

Tracey: I had a cyst removed on my face a few years ago. I had it for years and had know idea it was a cyst. I was so nervous, but I don't regret my decision. My face looks so much nicer now that there isn't a "bump" on it that was often inflamed. Give DD a big congrats from me. :thumbsup2

I looked in the mirror while I was getting dressed this morning and actually said "I look really cute!!" My friend and I always laugh at how much confidence I have, even before trying to lose this weight. I have got to come up with something to stay awake other than Starbucks or diet soda. If you come up with anything, please, please let me know. :)

Just a quick question ( or 2) about the corn thins....are they small like crackers or big like bread? Are they made with non-GMO corn?

HUGE congrats to you CC! I'm happy for you!

Thanks! :) Corn Thins are almost as big as a Deli Flat. They are non-GMO. They are like a rice cake, but much thinner. I, as you probably figured out, use them as bread, although open-faced. They are a pretty good price too. They are regularly priced $3.19 for 26 of them in a package. Much cheaper than GF bread.

Evening all!

Just finished 40 minutes on the elliptical and I have done about 10 minutes of ab work today! Feeling good! I ate responsibly today and drank a lot of water!

CC- Thanks! She's doing well! I told her to leave a band aid on it at night so she doesn't scratch it. It should be healed by the weekend.

Just watched BL Finale! Amazing results! Now I'm watching Glee. I plan on getting up at 5 in the morning! Got a lot to get done tomorrow so I will probably try and go to sleep at 10 tonight!

Enjoy the rest of your night!

Thanks! I am so excited to be HH winner this week.

Four weeks will probably go so fast~summer is just around the corner!

Got back awhile ago from getting Ash's mole removed! She started freaking out a bit but after about 15 minutes she calmed down and we got through it! We are watching Monte Carlo right now! No soccer tonight and she can't shower either. We stopped and picked up some Chinese food. I didn't eat much: 3 crab rangoons, 1 beef teriyaki, 3 chicken fingers and some scallion pancakes. I'll have a low calorie dinner. I did 50 minutes on the elliptical this morning and plan on doing more later. Drinking lots and lots of water.

Glad to hear all went well with the mole removal. It was probably scary for her!

MONDAY QOTDPlease share your favorite breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals. Snacks, too, if you like. What do you eat that leaves you satisfied and you still feel OP for the day?

Breakfast~hard boiled egg and high fiber cereal
Lunch~Grilled chicken salad
Dinner~Fish (broiled) and macaroni and cheese (small portion)

just wanted to pop in to congratulate melinda on her PR, as well as say HOORAY! to rose and lindsay on their half marathons this past weekend!! this group is awesome! :yay: i was shooting for a half for next week but couldn't get my training up in time. so, in two weeks i'll do a 10k. good enough for now and then in august there's a bronx half marathon done by NYRR. hoping to follow in the footsteps of our awesome half marathoners!

I would love to do a 10k. Good luck with yours :)

Hello! Hello! Hello!

I missed you guys over the weekend!!! Wonderful day of scrapbooking on Saturday :) I finally got through 4 vacations (18 pages) and have made some headway into the Disney Through the Years book. Man, was I exhausted when we left there! They serve dinner but my friend wanted to go to 5Guys Burgers...I had never been...and I will never go again. SHe said, have the cheeseburger and fries...they are small....WRONG. I ate about 1/2 the burger without the bun and a handful of fries....it sat in the pit of my stomach alllll night long....NEVER again. i will stick to my chicken and fish thank you!!

Sunday was a day with mom. We did some shopping at The Christmas Tree Shop (I still find it absolutely hysterical that the CHristmas Tree Shop never sells Christmas trees!), Marshall's, Kohl's, and Michael's. We both picked up a few things but nothing special. Then we went back to the parent's house for an early dinner. I downloaded the digital scrapbooking program I bought mom for Christmas to her computer and she bought some additional pre-designed pages and papers. By the time we finished it was 8Pm!

I'm still fighting this cold and am left with the coughing....which totally KILLED my exercise this past week. When you can't breathe, it's not a good idea to try to go for a walk :faint: I'm on the spin list tonight so hopefully I will make it through without a coughing fit. On top of all of this my TOM came early :confused3 Just shoot me now!

Sounds like you had a great weekend! Hope you're feeling better.

Speaking of food, I have a food related question.

For the past two months, I've been craving mushrooms like crazy! And no matter how often I get to eat them, I can't seem to satisfy the craving. Same with pickles; can't get enough of them and I don't even like pickles.

(It's gotten so bad with the pickle cravings that my co-workers are asking if I'm pregnant... :rotfl: I promise, I'm not. )

But I'm starting to wonder if I'm craving pickles and mushrooms because my body's telling me it needs something.

Thoughts?

I really don't know about this, but as I was reading I immediately thought "preggo." But, then I got to that part of your post. :rotfl: I crave pickles sometime. Maybe it's the saltiness of them??

Well, I hit a plateau (for the last couple weeks) so I joined Weight Watchers to try something different. I am loving it so far. But, normally, I wouldn't go to this extreme. I would mix up my eating and exercising and try something that's not usually in my routine so I don't get in a funk.

Say something nice about yourselves today, you deserve it. :thumbsup2

Love this!

Today he does the 3200 at our meet (2 miles). Hopefully he does well!!

How did DS do?

Talked with DD about flowers. I think I will be buying a small bouquet for DD and her friend. She was concerned that a wrist corsage would get in the way and be awkward. I haven't ordered anything and am thinking of going into Concord Sat. morning and buying flowers and making up the bouquets myself....just not sure about how to wrap the stems.

This sounds like a perfect little "extra" to make their night even better.

DS and DH will be up in your neck of the woods Saturday. DS is running the zombie 5K in Amesbury Mass. Hopefully he won't get caught by zombies!!! LOL

Which zombie race is he doing? A co-worker wants to do one here but the registration fee is a lot. And, you can't even bring in your own food or drinks, you have to buy from them. I told her I'd think about it. I think the one she wants to do is Run for Your Lives?

Well, day 2 of Weight watchers and DSis is signed up and we are comparing points already! I am really liking it so far.

I had a busy day today, but got a lot accomplished. Now, I promised myself I'd be in bed by 10 (still not feeling well because of this cold). I need a good (or great) night's sleep where DH doesn't crowd me & DS5 doesn't wake me up when he goes to the bathroom at 1 or 2 am! So, it took me awhile to catch up and I am going to get my stuff ready for tomorrow and head to bed. I hope I fall asleep fast. Have a good night!

Jill

Yikes! I just realized I didn't do my measurements for WIN yet and I just pigged out on Taco Bell. Think I'll wait and do it tomorrow--those inches will disappear over night, right?! :lmao:

CC, thanks so much for my HH prize. That little box just was jam packed with thoughtful goodies. You are fantastic! :worship:

Been subbing every day this week and again tomorrow. During recess the poor gal got hit in the head with a ball! I don't think it's a concussion, but definitely whip lash-like symptoms. :( She sees the doc tomorrow to hopefully be cleared to return to work.

DS1 got a home run in last night's game. DH and I weren't there to see it. Drat. Maybe next time!

Eating hasn't been great and working is interferring with my exercise, but I'm still plugging away! Squeezed a short walk in today before work, then after lunch I walked to work. That was good for six minutes! Every little bit helps.

I am SO SORE!!!!!! I did not think it was possible to be this sore but apparently it is! I keep telling myself its worth it, and boy it better be. I did the workout my trainer designed for the second time yesterday. I was super nervous, because i don't usually go to the gym when there are other real live human beings there, and a lot of the moves look very silly and i'm sure i was doing a lot of them wrong. I sat in the parking lot for ten minutes trying to talk myself out of talking myself out of not going haha! But I went in and i did my workout. It was probably one of the longest, intense workouts iv'e ever done. I'm really hoping i see some reusults from these workouts, my trainer said it will be at least 3 weeks till i see results so i really hope i can stick with it

it's so hard to start a workout routine and wait to see results. but i know if i don't stick with it all this pain will be for nothing. does anyone know how long it takes before your muscles actually get used to a work out routine? basically i haven't ever done strength training and toning, so this is all new and its intense but i asked her to make it intense. as i told her whenever i do strength training i feel like i havent done a workout. With this workout i totally do!

I've been doing pretty good with eating the last few days, but i kind of blew it tonight with the peanut butter cookies i had! I can't help it, i love my mom's peanut butter cookies i just could not resist them!

I'm almost done with the semester but i still have so much to do. I've kind of reached the end though and i'm procrastinating hardcore. i know i shouldn't i'm so close to being done! I just need to find extra motivation somewhere to get everything done!

I know!! I want to be there now for the race! Next year DS11 and I might do it.

Actually it isn't that close..... 90 minutes at least. But if it were a bit closer and it wasn't a crazy Prom/SAT/AP exam weekend we would LOVE to go see him run and cheer him on! Let me know if anything else comes up this way.... even Central MA would work!

I'm sure he can outrun the Zombies! :thumbsup2

I have got to come up with something to stay awake other than Starbucks or diet soda. If you come up with anything, please, please let me know. :)

Green tea with a bit of Splenda or sugar???

Wish I had known about these back when DS was wheat-free. Those were tough years! Tapioca bread and brown rice bread..... ick! Is there a brand name?

SO excited to hear that you are liking WW so far! And double happy that your Sis signed up too. That support will help you BOTH!

Hope you got a great night's sleep! That will help kick that cold to the curb!

You should be SO proud of NOT talking yourself out of the workout. I agree it can be SO intimidating to be at the gym with an "audience."

I've been doing pretty good with eating the last few days, but i kind of blew it tonight with the peanut butter cookies i had! I can't help it, i love my mom's peanut butter cookies i just could not resist them!

Tell Mom to hide the rest of the cookies!::yes::

DD works best under pressure and as such she is a big procrastinator. But I'm always afraid that something unexpected will come up (like getting sick or a family emergency) and that the procrastination will come back to bite her in the butt! Make yourself a to-do list today and try to knock off at least half of it!

*******************

Happy rainy Wednesday morning friends! Like I just mentioned above about a to-do list, I have a LOOOOOONG one for today! So much and I'm not even sure where to start! I've already done the dishes and cleaned up the kitchen as my eggs cooked, so I guess I can cross that off. And I read emails before I popped over here, so that is done too! Next up I'll start a load of laundry and make a few phone calls. By then breakfast should be digested and I will make beds and hit the TM. After that I'm torn. I really should order some photos for a few impending projects, as Walgreens.com is having a sale AND I got a "101 free prints" offer from Shutterfly that expires in the next few days. I shouldn't pass that up. But I'd also like to clean DD's room and bathroom.... and of course my bathroom needs a swish and swipe.

Kids both have after school and evening activities, so I get a bit more time at home today before I have to pick them up, but then my evening is booked. And DH headed off to Maine today for the day and I forgot to ask if he was expecting to be home for dinner. I think I will assume not, save the marinated steak I pulled from the freezer for tomorrow or Friday, when it might be a nice night for grilling and rely on sandwiches to go for tonight.

Oh well.... here I go rambling again!

I wasn't surprised at the results of last night's BL finale (won't give any names here). Wasn't the winner I really wanted, but wasn't surprised. Nice to see all of the returning contestants, but other than the person who won the at-home prize and the at-home person who was second, I didn't see any really astonishing weight losses, although they all looked really good.

Didn't like the new "rushed" format of the finale though. I like it when they take the time to show a bit of the person's BL history before the weigh-in. Last night felt SO rushed!

BTW, they mentioned THREE players who walked away. Who am I forgetting? I remember Buddy and Mark who walked away right before the end..... but who else left?

Last night's Glee was a disappointment as well. The story line was dark and depressing and I felt like the song selections were boring (although I do like that song from Chicago.... but was that appropriate for a group of supposed high school students???). Kurt's performance was fun to watch!

Off to start my list!...........................P

A big, BL congratulations to all our superstars this week and especially our biggest loser, CC! :cool1:

I think your new job agrees with you, CC! :thumbsup2

Isn't it amazing that we still have 25% retention even at the end of the challenge? :yay:

Buffy, did you see the crewneck version of our St John's Bay tees are $5 each at JC Penney the whole month of May? :cool2:

Thank you so much Lisa! I know you will crush that half marathon! Your training in the next couple of weeks are super important to keeping your base cardio up. Remember to get plenty of rest before hand. I took it super easy for three full days before the race (not totally intentional, but its how it worked out) and I think that did a lot to help me. I can't wait to hear all about your training and race!!

Thanks, Melinda! :flower3: This half will be the anniversary of finishing my first half so I'm only looking to finish and break below the 4 hour mark this time around -- 3 minutes faster than I finished the Tink. I had my 12 mile run cut short to 10 miles on Saturday due to runner's tummy. (It was really a tummy bug so that was good news). I have a 4 mile run this week-end, a 14 mile run the following week-end and then it is my absoutely favorite part of racing -- taper! :lmao: I'm excited and feeling good about things. :goodvibes

Big hugs on the teen thing. I tell DS when I wanted you to have your own opinions and stick up for them, I didn't really mean for you to do that to me! :lmao:

Liz, glad that you had a good time at the wedding. Way to track and get right back into the exercising, even with your broken toe. :thumbsup2

Nancy, I have all the faith in the world that you will rock the marathon! :rockband:

Always great to have some company:goodvibes

ITA!

TUESDAY QOTD PLATEAUS - we all have had them. What can you do before the next weigh in to really kick your weight loss into high gear to either get over a plateau or to help ensure that you will not have one?

When I start plateauing I usually find that I am not doing a good job at tracking -- paying more attention to my MFP helps take care of that. And, yes, I know I haven't been on MFP in way too long. :rolleyes1

Kayla, woo hoo on that wonderful confident feeling -- it will help you all your life! :thumbsup2

Jill, glad you found a WW buddy! This journey is definitely easier with friends! :flower3:

Linda, great job squeezing in those workouts, especially in between rain showers! :umbrella: We've had snow two mornings in a row but thankfully it doesn't stick.

Trina, sounds like the trainer is giving you a great workout! :thumbsup2

Pamela, I wasn't too excited with last night's winner either. I haven't watched BL for most of the season -- I get my updates on what is going on on FB. :lmao:

Have a great day all!

Got about half of my list accomplished before lunch. I ended up spending more time in DD's room than planned. I didn't really "clean" it, but did some picking up when I went in to make the bed and at least it doesn't hurt my head to look in there now! Same with her bathroom.

Sadly, I didn't see the "Today Only" banner on the free prints offer from Shutterfly (that came yesterday) so I missed that..... but wouldn't really have had time to pick out photos anyhow. But I want to place an order with Walgreens to at least get started.

Off to eat lunch and order those photos!...........................P

Jill DS did ok. He did the 2 mile in 12:07, came in 7th. Not to shabby! This was a hard team to race, they are our toughest competitors. I think we won, I need to check the paper online to look.....YES! 107-43 win! WHEW!!
We did have one boy DQed for wearing jewelry and he went ballistic on the coach so I'm pretty sure his future as a track star is over.
Exciting meet though!

Yes, he is doing the Run for Your Lives race in Boston. I'll let you know the details as soon as he gets home Saturday.

pjlla Drat!! I wish he were closer. But if we ever are, I will let you know!

The brother Joe walked out when, was it Mike, was voted off - very early in the show.

Had to have been the worst season. Top three very uninspiring due to their, shall we say, personalities???? I am trying to be nice!!!! Never understood the other players being manipulated by the caustic twins.
