Congratulations to cclovesdis and jillbur for earning 7/7 for at least 1 of the HHs too!

Congratulations to jillbur who earned 25/30 points and is also this week's prize winner. Please PM me you address to receive your prize. Thanks!

Good Monday morning.

The only thing to make this an okay day is that it is also payday (last day of the month) and the last paycheck was before Easter because of the way the month fell.

Welcome back belledreamer.

I lost track of time and have no time to talk this morning. I have to get to work and hunt down some paper. There is none in the building and we still have 9 weeks left. I also have to get some notes together for tomorrow's classes.

Have a happy and healthy day.

Hi All
I'm back and have made the decision to re-commit to this challenge:)
Tomorrow is a new month and so I'm making it a new beginning too-with no more excuses either:lmao:
Walked 90 minutes this morning and am halfway through my water:cool1:

Just like everyone else I've noticed I dont do as well when I dont post on here so I'm going to make time and chat to you all more often:)

Hope everyone has a good, healthy, happy day::yes::

Happy Monday morning friends!!!

I returned from my time on the Cape Saturday night, but spent time with my family and such over the last few days, enjoying the last bit of the kids April school vacation. That said, I had a GREAT time with my SILs.... we talked and talked and talked!!:goodvibes

And WOOHOO DH finally got our family desktop up and repaired and running, so I should be able to return to my "normal" level of chattiness with you all here!!

No lie when I tell you that my email notices from the Disboards are currently at 6342 unread emails!!!:faint: I don't think I'll be catching up on all of them.:lmao: But between yesterday and this morning I did manage to catch up on most of the more important emails that have been piling up (bills, etc) and spent some time unsubscribing from SO MANY things! Honestly, why was I getting email notices from the L.A. times???? I don't KNOW anyone in L.A., I've never LIVED in L.A., and other than flying out of LAX when we visited DL in 2005, I've never even BEEN to L.A.! So that should elliviate some of that email congestion.

DH was able to save EVERY PICTURE, EVERY SONG, and EVERY DOCUMENT! We now have a nice fresh hard drive that runs so fast, plus everything is properly backed up (at least for the moment). So other than being without a regular computer for a month, it is all good!

But let this be my PSA for the day..... BACK UP YOUR PICTURES!!! TODAY!! RIGHT NOW!! Send them to Shutterfly or Snapfish...... or buy an external hard drive.... or AT LEAST burn them on a disc! Your computer can crash without any warning at all!! We had it happen TWICE in the past few months.... both my laptop and the family desktop just crashed without any warning signs at all (at least, nothing we really noticed). Thankfully my DH is pretty handy around a computer and the crash wasn't totally unrecoverable. But if I didn't have DH I would have either lost EVERYTHING that wasn't backed up, or probably would have had to pay a pretty penny to an IT type guy to recover everything for me.

We do have an external hard drive, but I've never learned how to use it and have always relied on DH to do it..... but he doesn't do it on a regular schedule and of course, hadn't done it for many months before the crash. And I do store pictures with Shutterfly and Walgreens.com, but usually only send them in as I am getting ready to print them, so of course I didn't have everything there.

Anyhow...........I hope everyone here has been well. I miss our daily chatting time! I will be back in a little while to chat a bit more today. For now the coffee is going straight through me and I need to hit the TM hard! I haven't had a good workout in ages! ......................................P

I will actually have two in grad school starting this summer.

What do you do when you are exercising? Do you read, listen to music, watch tv or just chill?

If I am in my basement on the exercise bike or the treadmill then I will watch a dvd since the place is not set up for cable. If I am workingout up stair then I will watch a comedy.

Ds1 will be studying on line through the University of Nebraska. He will be studying biology.

Ds2 will be studying where he is getting his bachelor's. He is at Rowan University just outside of Philla. He is getting a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering. His Master's will be in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Transportation.

He told me last night that he walked the Delaware Memorial Bridge which links NJ with Del. It stands 140 feet above the Delaware. I have ridden in a car over it but have never driven over with me as the driver.

Wow.... two in grad school? You should be really proud! Love to hear more about the online program.

Hey everyone!

We went to Publix yesterday and ordered a german chocolate cake for Alan's birthday on Monday. He's going to go on Sunday afternoon and pick it up along with a small chocolate one. I also want to celebrate Josh's (my late husband) birthday at the same time. His actual birthday is today (Thursday).

Sorry I missed all of this over the weekend. Saw that you had an "angry" day. Hoping and praying that you are able to move past it now and get back on an even keel. I can't even begin to imagine what you go through on those "important" days every year. I will keep you in my prayers going forward.

I need to remember to pack my pedometer and reusable water bottle for bestie and I's trip. On the days that we're not in the parks we're going to either be pool side at CSR, walking the jogging trail, or spending some time in the fitness center. I want to stay focused on my weight loss while I'm on this trip. As of this morning I'm 4.5 pounds from ONEDERLAND!

WOOOHOO..... onward to ONE-derland!!

Well, I need to end this and get some sleep. I'm going to be pretty busy the next 2.5 days before my bestie gets here on Saturday.

Thanks for all the well wishes for the anniversary. We did nothing spectacular as usual. DH dug out the septic system and I went to DS15's track meet.
Pizza for dinner.

We have an empty septic tank now! YAY!! And there were no other clogs so we can resume showers, laundry and dishes. I have a lot of catching up to do! LOL

I've stayed OP on food, but not on exercise. I need to get something in today.
I'm trying to find out a target calorie burn for the day. I need a number to aim for.
OK, gonna get off this thing. I'm freezing so I need to get moving!

I hope y'all have a great OP day today!!

Sounds like an exciting and romantic anniversary..... NOT!!:lmao: Sorry you had to go through that PITA, but at least now you won't have to worry about it for a long time!

Belated happy anniversary!!

Last night was the informational meeting about the study abroad program for DS2. He's still thinking about applying, but is very worried about his activities. Plus he's in a special academic program at school and obviously will face different challenges if he goes overseas. So basketball, baseball, probably choir and band would come to a halt. And he's not sure if he wants to be away from "my church" for an entire year. :woohoo: gotta love a kid who wants to be part of a church community. He's still thinking. The application deadline is in about a month. BUT he's been offered another opportunity to apply for a 3-ish week trip abroad next summer through a different program. Anybody got a money tree start we can plant?! I think we need to win a lottery! :wizard:

How wonderful that you have raised a boy who puts such value in his faith and his relationship with his church family! You should be really proud and pleased.

He should apply for the study abroad program, even if he decides it isn't what he wants to do. Just that "practice" at completing applications, writing essays, etc, is valuable. And if he gets accepted, but decides not to attend, at least he can say he was accepted!

If you find any seedlings for that money tree, please send me one! Anyone who said that we should save for our kids COLLEGE education obviously never had a very involved high school honor student! I am writing checks weekly for AP exams, SATs, NHS "stuff", Rainbow Girls, gowns, special study applications, swim (and more swim), etc, etc, etc!! Who can save for college at this rate???

hi again I've finally got a chance to pop in and say hello!
Finally lost some weight this week-even if its only a single pound!
Good luck to everyone with their weigh-ins
bye for now:)

Every pound counts!! Slow and steady wins the race, right??

Good morning my favorite bunch of losers! My name is Melinda and I will be your coach this week! I hope we can all have a great week, stay OP, lose lots of weight, and really connect with and learn from each other. Who knows more about this journey than this fabulous group of people we have found that are on this journey right here, right now, with us? I am very glad I found this Challenge, and personally can't wait for the next one!

QOTD FRIDAY: What motivates you more to stay OP and work harder: seeing pictures of yourself when you were heavier, or seeing a picture of someone closer to your goal weight?

Melinda.... thanks for stepping up to the coaching role for us! I appreciate it. Sorry I've been so MIA lately.

QOTD: I really had to think about this. My quick answer is BOTH. I KNOW when I look at before pictures that I absolutely NEVER want to be there again. But looking at AFTER pictures is inspiring as well. When I was with my SILs this weekend we were scrapping some pictures for a book for DMIL's 90th birthday this fall. Someone handed me a family photo taken of my family of four plus DMIL two summers ago.... and I looked GREAT!! I was obviously having a good hair day:thumbsup2 and wore a super cute outfit. I was THRILLED to see myself in this picture. Sure, we actually all looked well..... but I could honestly find NOTHING negative to say about myself in this particular picture.... and that is really unusual. So it inspires me to work hard to STAY at this weight. It is definitely worth EVERY sacrifice!

Sorry I have been off the board for a few days. I was hit with a yucky cold that just seems to linger. I'm less congested today but for the past 3 days I came home from work and slept. My 5 miles scheduled for Tuesday was postponed when my fever hit 100 :sad2: My eating has been ok for most of the week but the lack of exercise has been my downfall. I weigh in on Sunday morning for WW since I will be celebrating National Scrapbooking Day tomorrow by attend an all day crop with some friends. I just bought a TON on digital content for my digital scrapbooking and will be printing my 2010 Disney 12x12 book this week - 46 pages of MAGIC :earsboy:

I'm trying to get out of here early today since my seniors are all at Six Flags for National Physics Day. I'm going to see Sweet Charity at a local playhouse tonight and then packing for the crop! I am packing my own food so I am not tempted to go crazy and gluten myself :eek:

Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend!! I will be checking back in on Sunday :flower3:

Sorry you've been sick. Hope you had a GREAT scrapping day! I'm jealous of 46 pages completed!!

Speaking of which: Has anyone here tried the PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter? A coworker and I were going to split the cost of ordering it so we can try it. She said it has good reviews.

Dinner is ready-- have to run!

I've never tried it, but I've heard good things about it many times. Let me know what you think.

So I met my goal of 5 pounds down by the end of April! :cool1: And that puts me into a new "decade" :woohoo::yay::dance3: I don't really share my weight on here but let's just say I have put away my Rubik cube, walkman, shoulder pads and parachute pants and will be enjoying some flower power and disco dancing :dancer: on my way down this one ;) Have a goal to lose 5 pounds in May. I was planning to cancel my WW membership at the end of the initial 3 month time (end of May) and continue on my own but so far I am really having no problem with the tracking (love being able to do it online and on my ipod) and it is working great so I may continue with it. Guess I should figure out how much it costs. I would love to be into that hippie decade by summer :hippie:!

Probably going to the mall today. I desperately need some new undergarments. Not sure what size so I will get refitted to see if there are any changes. DH wanted to go out for dinner last night but I already had dinner planned so we may go out tonight.

Have a great weekend everyone!

GREAT JOB and WTG on meeting your weight loss goal for April!! Excited to hear that you are having success with WW and are planning to continue it!

Guess who is back? I come bearing a new PR! This time I finished in around 36 minutes (not sure on specific seconds yet) and last race I finished in 39! My stomach didn't cramp up this time, however as I was running down the football field to the finish I really thought I was going to throw up. I grabbed water and an apple at the end and that setlled it. Other than that, my sickness didn't cause too many problems besides the occasional sniffle. I was really impressed with some people that finished in probably 12 minutes! And of course, those parents that were pushing their kids in strollers, I hope I'm like that when I'm older!

Overall, I liked this race better than the last. More people, volunteers were very supportive, and the fact that I did better. It seemed to go faster since it was through residential areas. Great time! :goodvibes:
!

HUGE congratulations on your PB! Talk to some of our long-time runners here, like Rose, about finding a way to eliminate that sick feeling. I'm sure there will be suggestions.

Congrats on the 5 lbs and I LOVE the way you described your decades :)

I'm glad I jumped on tonight to catch up and saw your post about WW. DSis and I just got off the phone and I am trying to convince her to try WW with me. I am all gung-ho and want to get started Monday (DS8's birthday party tomorrow, and I really want cake lol). I am going to be doing it online. I'm still doing my research, but I definitely need to do something different and I think this is the way to go.

I'm so happy you are finding a way to bring someone else along with you on your WW journey!! It will help you BOTH be more successful.

I was excited when I saw one of my DSIL (actually, she is DBIL's wife.... so technically not sure what she is to me, but I call her SIL).... had lost weight.... and when I asked she told me she is down 30 pounds since January using WW (new Points Plus)... and she told me that I had inspired her!! Not just my weight loss, but my keeping it off over the past few years. I was so touched and VERY excited that I had inspired another person to get HEALTHIER! She is quite a bit older than me (10+ years), but has a nice young face and young personality, so if she can get the weight under control she will definitely not look her age! Plus her DH is 10 years younger (and very fit and young looking himself) than she is, so I'm sure she wants to look younger!!

I mentioned above, but I think I'll be joining the WW community in a couple days. I need to change something because my eating has been out of control. I have 2 friends (although they live in Chicago now) that have both done WW and were super successful, so it's so motivating. I am still doing some research and I'll be looking here on the dis, also.

I have another busy day tomorrow so I'll probably be on after DS's birthday dinner.

Jill

Best of luck starting WW. If you want to chat about it I'd be happy to!

A
Ok, I'm taking the plunge and signing up for WW online. I ordered some of the info on ebay (it was a lot that came with a dining out companion, everyday food companion, calculator, journal, stickers, an organizer, coupon book, and a cookbook). I think I will wait until it comes to actually sign up online. Or maybe I will sign up tonight and read up on all the info. I also want to get the WW ap for my phone. I am super excited because I talked to my friend in Chicago and she said she highly recommends the program. She lost 40 pounds between last February and October. She went off WW for a couple months and just signed back up a couple weeks ago. She gave me lots of good info and advice. I don't really know what's a good amount of weight for me to lose (realistically). I know I want to lose at least 10-15 more pounds. I hope this is the kick in the butt I need :)

I have to head off to finish laundry and ironing before we head out the door for DS's birthday dinner (his birthday is actually Thursday). My mom, sister's family, and in-laws are all coming. He is pretty excited. I can't believe he is turning 9 already! Time sure does fly.

I'll try to check back in later tonight. Have a great day!

Jill

Happy B.day to DS and WOOHOO on the WW!

Race went ok. about 70% of it was uphill, steep uphill. I was sort of prepared for that only because I've been doing inclines on the treadmill, I didn't know we were running up that hill though! I walked most of it, walked the first mile, then occasional jogs to catch up to DH and DD.
DD went with me and she did ok, whined the whole way but ran up with DH a little bit so it broke the tediousness of it.
I felt pretty good though, my legs were still tight the first 2 miles as always but it wasn't as bad because we went uphill. Flat kills me right now so I need to work on that. My hydration was good. When we went to Disney last year I drained every ounce of water I could get my hands on but today I had one bottle with me and only needed 1/2 of it.

so times as follows:
DS15 15th place 21:33 (PR)
DS11 119th place 31:42 (So impressed with this!!!!)
DS10 196th place 49:30
DH 204th place 51:01 (walked the whole way with me and DD)
DD6 213th place 51:46
Me 214th place 51:46

I have my work cut out for me though if I want to do a Disney race next year. I need to lose some more weight and work on my strength training. But my pace was 16:40, I think I can shave 1:00 - 1:40 off that by January.

Congrats to ALL of you for great finishes!!!

Hey guys! Remember me? :)

Sorry I've been MIA for a while. Not that alot has been going on; I guess I've gotten lazy with checking in and tracking everything. But I've gotten better about it in the last couple of days so I'll try to get back to posting here regularly soon.

Just a quick update: Still soda-free after 4 months except for a Sprite I had last week for an upset stomach. I also have (unintentionally) cut out most red meat from my diet in favor of fish and veggies; Idk, I just don't have the taste much for it anymore. (Had a squid salad last week which was quite good. :goodvibes ) I've dropped a dress and jeans size (was in a getting-tight 16, now in a loose fitting 14) and down a size in t-shirts (tight large to comfortable medium)I also dropped another 2lbs this week, putting me 6lbs away from reaching the halfway point in my weight loss journey!

But I just find I have no motivation to do anything... I'm still doing my 3 times a week at the gym (up to 25 minutes on elliptical now), paid careful attention to my eating and I'm guessing I'm doing something right cause the weight's still coming off. But I've noticed (especially at the gym) that my heart's just not in it. I mainly started going for the possibility of doing the Princess 1/2 and I still go and work up a sweat, but I can't seem to get any faster and after a mile or two, I'm done... I really don't know if I'm going to do the Princess this year or not... Plus I've received a few comments from my friends that while they were not meant to be hurtful by any means, still hurt nonetheless and that I've had to work through. But I'm going to be okay.

Can't think of much else to say and this post is long enough as it is. So I bid you all good night and :worship: if you've read this whole post.

;)

Nice job keeping the soda out of your diet and making healthier choices all around! WOOHOO on being nearly halfway to goal!!

Big Phantom fan here too! Saw it three different times at the Wang Theater in Boston... such a spectacular show!

QOTD Saturday: WHAT WOULD YOU PUT INTO YOUR FOOD EMERGENCY KIT?

Assuming it all had to be reasonably shelf stable.....100 calorie packs of nuts, LC cheese wedges and cheese sticks (they can be stored out of the fridge for a short time), flaxseed/oat bran pita pockets, apples, peanut butter, water bottles, tea bags, tuna kits, prunes, FiberOne 90 calorie bars (a Franken-food, but really handy and reasonably filling for emergencies), Kashi bars and Lara bars (both very caloric, but filling and healthy) baby carrots, canned fruit packed in juice (individual servings are best).

Okay.... still need to hit the potty and the TM! :lmao: BBL to chat...............P

SUNDAY QOTD Exercise Emergency Kit

We all have times come up when we cannot get in our planned workout. What can we have at the ready to squeeze in a workout when our plans might not work out or our time is cut short?

An extra run up/down the stairs on my way somewhere. Running up and/or down the escalator instead of waiting for the stairs to carry me. Squats, high knees, jump ropes or kick backs while standing waiting/watching somethings (like while on recess duty at school or while watching my kid play/practice a sport). Wall sits while waiting for..... anything ( I will do them in a classroom while timing a class for a "mad minute" in math.... that way I know I've done a 1 minute wall sit!).

If I'm really desperate and have NO time.... I will do Kegel exercises while driving and for a while I carried one of those squeezie hand exercise things in the car to do at stop lights! ...............................P

If I know ahead of time that I am not going to make it to the gym or for a run or even a walk, I try to plan ahead. I make it a point to walk around more at work and try to squeeze a short walk in during my lunch break. If it's unplanned and life gets in the way, I try to do more things around the house like laundry, playing in the backyard with the kids and dog, or walking to return movies to the rental store.

Happy B.day to DS and WOOHOO on the WW!

Thanks so much. I think it's what I need to get back in gear. Dsis is on the fence~she always has too many excuses. She did just text me and say she was going to stop in the WW place today to check it all out. I'm hoping she signs up so we can motivate each other and share recipes.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anyhow, I actually have to run. Most of my lunch break is gone and I've got some things to get done before my next class. I'll check in later!
Have a great day!
Jill
Happy lunchtime friends! My lunch was creamy and crunchy and warm and filling..... just what I needed today! :) Small tossed salad topped with balsamic and then a toasted whole wheat sandwich thin topped with warm fat-free refried beans and 1 serving of 2% shredded cheddar and broiled. I call it my "mexican pizza". I love the refried beans! Sometimes I even dab on some salsa, but wasn't in the mood for it today.
I got some picking up done around the house this morning, added a few new photos to a photo collage I hung in the dining room last week, paid a few bills, made beds, hit the TM and then a shower. Then I unpacked my scrapping supplies I brought to DSIL's this weekend. I did my (belated) menu planning for this week and pulled the appropriate things from the freezer. I will buy a few needed grocery items tonight while I am out dropping DD at her evening activity and that will hopefully be it for the week for shopping.
Prom is Saturday and DD does not even have any jewelry yet (but yes, she does have her dress and shoes). Should I be panicked?? I don't even have a CLUE what she wants, so I haven't even looked around. I do have a really pretty pink pendant and matching ring set in silver that she could borrow if she is trying to go low-key with the bling. Otherwise I will be scrambling around tonight and tomorrow to try to find something appropriate and AFFORDABLE!
And here is a question for more experienced PROM folks...... since DD is going solo (meeting friends there) should she have a corsage?? I don't mind buying her a pretty wrist corsage if she is going to look out of place without it..... but I'm not sure the protocol on this. Maybe I could buy one for her AND her friend??
Anyhow.... need to scramble around to accomplish some things here before DS arrives home in 2 hours. These days just FLY by!!
TTYL...........................P
Melinda, a big BL congratulations on your PR this week-end at your half! :cool1: You are having a GREAT running year for sure! ::yes::
Congratulations to all our racers this week-end! :yay: You can definitely tell summer racing season is here.
I'm looking forward to hearing how Kayla and Lara do at Expedition Everest this week-end! :cool2:
SUNDAY QOTD Exercise Emergency Kit
We all have times come up when we cannot get in our planned workout. What can we have at the ready to squeeze in a workout when our plans might not work out or our time is cut short?
I'm not too good at squeezing things in if I get to the end of the day and I haven't done a workout but I always have at least two sets of workout clothes in my car so I have no excuse not to get myself out and do something before I get to that point. If I use a set of clothes, then I make sure I get a new one in there right away. :goodvibes Always having at least two races on the calendar helps me not to skip any workouts. ::yes::
Thanks for coaching this week, Melinda!
CC, thanks for the HH coaching! :goodvibes Hope you are enjoying your job!
Nice to see you, belledreamer! :wave2:
Dona, it's going to be a long 9 weeks without paper at your school. Hope someone stashed some away somewhere. :lmao:
luvpoohandcompany, hope you don't mind I'm joining you on the recommitment! :flower3:
Pamela, thank goodness for the backup! :thumbsup2 Have you ever tried Carbonite? It's an online backup and it backs up offsite automatically. Having an external hard drive is good but if you have to store it offsite to avoid having everything wiped if something happened at home, God forbid. We use it for our office and it works great!
And while I am not an experienced prom person, I think it would be nice if you got your DD and her friend both corsages. :flower3:
Jill, congrats on being HH winner! :yay:
Hello to everyone I missed in my catching up as of this page post! :wave:
I'm lucky that I bounced back to my same number I've been at for a couple of weeks. The way I've been eating I could easily have found myself with a gain. With four weeks until my next half marathon it is way past time for me to get ahold of myself, recommit and get a good solid plan in place for the rest of the summer. :beach:
Have a great day all!
QOTD: I try to at least get in my sit ups! I drink tons of water too!
Good afternoon all!
Got back awhile ago from getting Ash's mole removed! She started freaking out a bit but after about 15 minutes she calmed down and we got through it! We are watching Monte Carlo right now! No soccer tonight and she can't shower either. We stopped and picked up some Chinese food. I didn't eat much: 3 crab rangoons, 1 beef teriyaki, 3 chicken fingers and some scallion pancakes. I'll have a low calorie dinner. I did 50 minutes on the elliptical this morning and plan on doing more later. Drinking lots and lots of water.
I need to do some picking up while we watch the movie. I may put some of my clothes in the suitcase for the cruise! I bagged most of them up yesterday!
TTFN :tigger:
MONDAY QOTDPlease share your favorite breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals. Snacks, too, if you like. What do you eat that leaves you satisfied and you still feel OP for the day?
a quick hello and :scared1: at my weekend gain. baby's baptism, stress eating, and way too much beer killed my loss and then some (like, alot) for all of last week.
today is better but still not great. good thing i have aerobics tonight ::yes::
just wanted to pop in to congratulate melinda on her PR, as well as say HOORAY! to rose and lindsay on their half marathons this past weekend!! this group is awesome! :yay: i was shooting for a half for next week but couldn't get my training up in time. so, in two weeks i'll do a 10k. good enough for now and then in august there's a bronx half marathon done by NYRR. hoping to follow in the footsteps of our awesome half marathoners!
Hello! Hello! Hello!
I missed you guys over the weekend!!! Wonderful day of scrapbooking on Saturday :) I finally got through 4 vacations (18 pages) and have made some headway into the Disney Through the Years book. Man, was I exhausted when we left there! They serve dinner but my friend wanted to go to 5Guys Burgers...I had never been...and I will never go again. SHe said, have the cheeseburger and fries...they are small....WRONG. I ate about 1/2 the burger without the bun and a handful of fries....it sat in the pit of my stomach alllll night long....NEVER again. i will stick to my chicken and fish thank you!!
Sunday was a day with mom. We did some shopping at The Christmas Tree Shop (I still find it absolutely hysterical that the CHristmas Tree Shop never sells Christmas trees!), Marshall's, Kohl's, and Michael's. We both picked up a few things but nothing special. Then we went back to the parent's house for an early dinner. I downloaded the digital scrapbooking program I bought mom for Christmas to her computer and she bought some additional pre-designed pages and papers. By the time we finished it was 8Pm!
I'm still fighting this cold and am left with the coughing....which totally KILLED my exercise this past week. When you can't breathe, it's not a good idea to try to go for a walk :faint: I'm on the spin list tonight so hopefully I will make it through without a coughing fit. On top of all of this my TOM came early :confused3 Just shoot me now!
Wishing all the runners from this weekend a really nice rest/recovery!! You guys deserve it! I'm still thinking about the princess for my 40th birthday....darn you, Kathy! I guess it's great motivation to get back out there!
I missed the weigh in this week at WW (no evening meetings on MOndays) so I will try again this weekend....
Hang in there Losers!!
MONDAY QOTDPlease share your favorite breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals. Snacks, too, if you like. What do you eat that leaves you satisfied and you still feel OP for the day?
I have some favorites for each meal. :goodvibes
Breakfast:
Whole wheat toast with a little butter, 1 cup of 1% milk (sometimes chocolate if I have a craving) and I try to have some fruit. If I have time, I love scrambled or soft boiled eggs
Lunch:
Tuna fish or a Turkey sandwich if I'm eating at home. If I'm eating out, I love going to a Japanese Hibachi and getting a Chicken Tempura bento box or a Squid salad. (Sort of has the texture of a rubber band but it is so good!)
Dinner: FISH TACOS!!! I also like baked tilapia with a little bit of plum sauce and steamed broccoli or asparagus or sushi if we go out to eat.
Snacks: I've really been into pita bread and hummus recently. Especially the garlic one; gives you horrible breath but it sure does taste good! :goodvibes I also like 3 hershey kisses when I need something sweet.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Speaking of food, I have a food related question.
For the past two months, I've been craving mushrooms like crazy! And no matter how often I get to eat them, I can't seem to satisfy the craving. Same with pickles; can't get enough of them and I don't even like pickles.
(It's gotten so bad with the pickle cravings that my co-workers are asking if I'm pregnant... :rotfl: I promise, I'm not. )
But I'm starting to wonder if I'm craving pickles and mushrooms because my body's telling me it needs something.
Thoughts?
Race went ok. about 70% of it was uphill, steep uphill. I was sort of prepared for that only because I've been doing inclines on the treadmill, I didn't know we were running up that hill though! I walked most of it, walked the first mile, then occasional jogs to catch up to DH and DD.
DD went with me and she did ok, whined the whole way but ran up with DH a little bit so it broke the tediousness of it.
I felt pretty good though, my legs were still tight the first 2 miles as always but it wasn't as bad because we went uphill. Flat kills me right now so I need to work on that. My hydration was good. When we went to Disney last year I drained every ounce of water I could get my hands on but today I had one bottle with me and only needed 1/2 of it.
so times as follows:
DS15 15th place 21:33 (PR)
DS11 119th place 31:42 (So impressed with this!!!!)
DS10 196th place 49:30
DH 204th place 51:01 (walked the whole way with me and DD)
DD6 213th place 51:46
Me 214th place 51:46
I have my work cut out for me though if I want to do a Disney race next year. I need to lose some more weight and work on my strength training. But my pace was 16:40, I think I can shave 1:00 - 1:40 off that by January.
Congrats to you and your family! You had some great times!! I am positive you can totally do the Disney race with a great time.
Thank you so much :)
Thank you very much! You will do just fine! I remember that feeling at the Donald Half in Jan 2011. I just wanted to stay ahead of that sweeper! I was so relieved to get the medal around my neck and know I had done it! Just stay positive and focused and when you have to walk, make it a power walk! Bend your arms at the elbow and pump them back and forth, and my trainer says to pretend you are grabbing at ropes and they are pulling you along. I tried it at my race yesterday when I had to walk, and I think it really helped me feel like I was gaining momentum! I love those little tricks!
Melinda :)
I assumed the treadmill = road so when I switched about a month ago I realized that I wasn't properly training. But, I am sure that on race day I'll feel very pumped and will push myself hard enough. I know I can make it, but I just want to keep in front of the sweeper too! Thanks for the tips!
SUNDAY QOTD Exercise Emergency Kit
We all have times come up when we cannot get in our planned workout. What can we have at the ready to squeeze in a workout when our plans might not work out or our time is cut short?
Most of my days are planned ahead so I know when and when I won't have time for exercise. If I have something in the evening I'll workout as soon as I'm back from class. If I am short on time I'll do 30DS since it's only about 20-30 minutes, or just skip depending on how my week has been and what I'm actually doing.
Hey guys! Remember me? :)
Sorry I've been MIA for a while. Not that alot has been going on; I guess I've gotten lazy with checking in and tracking everything. But I've gotten better about it in the last couple of days so I'll try to get back to posting here regularly soon.
Just a quick update: Still soda-free after 4 months except for a Sprite I had last week for an upset stomach. I also have (unintentionally) cut out most red meat from my diet in favor of fish and veggies; Idk, I just don't have the taste much for it anymore. (Had a squid salad last week which was quite good. :goodvibes ) I've dropped a dress and jeans size (was in a getting-tight 16, now in a loose fitting 14) and down a size in t-shirts (tight large to comfortable medium)I also dropped another 2lbs this week, putting me 6lbs away from reaching the halfway point in my weight loss journey!
But I just find I have no motivation to do anything... I'm still doing my 3 times a week at the gym (up to 25 minutes on elliptical now), paid careful attention to my eating and I'm guessing I'm doing something right cause the weight's still coming off. But I've noticed (especially at the gym) that my heart's just not in it. I mainly started going for the possibility of doing the Princess 1/2 and I still go and work up a sweat, but I can't seem to get any faster and after a mile or two, I'm done... I really don't know if I'm going to do the Princess this year or not... Plus I've received a few comments from my friends that while they were not meant to be hurtful by any means, still hurt nonetheless and that I've had to work through. But I'm going to be okay.
Besides, I think this may be PMS talking.... ;)
And in non-weight related news: I've pretty much spent this weekend re-awakening my love of 'Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera' by watching the 25th anniversary video recording :lovestruc and the sequel to 'Phantom 'that everyone dreaded and hoped wouldn't happen; 'Love Never Dies' (The Australian Cast released a performance that's been posted on Youtube) which was exactly what I expected and what everyone thought it would be. No offense to the actors; they were quite good. I just don't care much for sequels since they usually aren't as good as the original... But I did like the ending and a few of the song including one called 'Til I Hear You Sing' which is absolutely gorgeous. :cloud9:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9s2k1_Gkcfg (Definitely worth a listen if you're a Phantom fan) :lovestruc
Can't think of much else to say and this post is long enough as it is. So I bid you all good night and :worship: if you've read this whole post.
;)
Awesome job on the soda!! That was the first thing I ever did on my health journey and it's a great kick starter! After 5 years and I really hate the taste of that stuff, but like you love a good sprite when I'm sick. I don't know what it is about it.
I understand the lack of motivation. I have had a couple of those weeks this year. Push through it and hopefully you'll pick it back up.
You are making great progress! Don't worry if you aren't going as fast as you want. Aim for distance, not speed, as long as you beat the sweepers it's cool! And even if you don't, you tried. Something that I do when I run is I'll think I want to do 5, after mile 2 I feel like stopping so I say, just .25 more miles and then I'll quit and when I get there I say another .25. So you juts keep going a little at a time and before you know it, you'll have gone an extra mile or more. It's easier to push yourself in small amounts.
:hug: Sorry about your friends.
I had to :lmao: at your Phantom comment. I loved the movie though I haven't seen it in forever but I totally was all "Noooooooo!!!" when I found out they were doing a sequel.
Happy Monday morning friends!!!
I returned from my time on the Cape Saturday night, but spent time with my family and such over the last few days, enjoying the last bit of the kids April school vacation. That said, I had a GREAT time with my SILs.... we talked and talked and talked!!:goodvibes
And WOOHOO DH finally got our family desktop up and repaired and running, so I should be able to return to my "normal" level of chattiness with you all here!!
No lie when I tell you that my email notices from the Disboards are currently at 6342 unread emails!!!:faint: I don't think I'll be catching up on all of them.:lmao: But between yesterday and this morning I did manage to catch up on most of the more important emails that have been piling up (bills, etc) and spent some time unsubscribing from SO MANY things! Honestly, why was I getting email notices from the L.A. times???? I don't KNOW anyone in L.A., I've never LIVED in L.A., and other than flying out of LAX when we visited DL in 2005, I've never even BEEN to L.A.! So that should elliviate some of that email congestion.
DH was able to save EVERY PICTURE, EVERY SONG, and EVERY DOCUMENT! We now have a nice fresh hard drive that runs so fast, plus everything is properly backed up (at least for the moment). So other than being without a regular computer for a month, it is all good!
But let this be my PSA for the day..... BACK UP YOUR PICTURES!!! TODAY!! RIGHT NOW!! Send them to Shutterfly or Snapfish...... or buy an external hard drive.... or AT LEAST burn them on a disc! Your computer can crash without any warning at all!! We had it happen TWICE in the past few months.... both my laptop and the family desktop just crashed without any warning signs at all (at least, nothing we really noticed). Thankfully my DH is pretty handy around a computer and the crash wasn't totally unrecoverable. But if I didn't have DH I would have either lost EVERYTHING that wasn't backed up, or probably would have had to pay a pretty penny to an IT type guy to recover everything for me.
We do have an external hard drive, but I've never learned how to use it and have always relied on DH to do it..... but he doesn't do it on a regular schedule and of course, hadn't done it for many months before the crash. And I do store pictures with Shutterfly and Walgreens.com, but usually only send them in as I am getting ready to print them, so of course I didn't have everything there.
Anyhow...........I hope everyone here has been well. I miss our daily chatting time! I will be back in a little while to chat a bit more today. For now the coffee is going straight through me and I need to hit the TM hard! I haven't had a good workout in ages! ......................................P
Glad you got your computer fixed and all your things are still there!! :thumbsup2 Every few weeks I go through and delete all my subscriptions that I don't need too. It definitely saves some time.
Thanks for the reminder! I have an external hardrive that I usually back things up on but I haven't done so in a couple months. I should probably get that done tomorrow. ::yes::
HUGE congratulations on your PB! Talk to some of our long-time runners here, like Rose, about finding a way to eliminate that sick feeling. I'm sure there will be suggestions.
Okay.... still need to hit the potty and the TM! :lmao: BBL to chat...............P
Thanks!
I laughed at your comment about the price of honor students. I hear you, I was involved in a lot in HS and I felt like I was dishing out money for fundraisers or trips every week. Definitely not fun for me or my mom!
MONDAY QOTDPlease share your favorite breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals. Snacks, too, if you like. What do you eat that leaves you satisfied and you still feel OP for the day?
I eat the same breakfast almost everyday and it is:
2 cups multigrain cheerios
1 cup silk unsweetened Almond Milk
4-5 strawberries cut up w/ 5-6 blueberries.
Snacks:
Apple with PB
Belvita Breakfast Bars
Ghiradelli Dark Chocolate
Popcorn!
Meals:
Tofu with cheesy hash browns, spinach, and peppers.
Vegetarian Chicken Patty on a 100 calorie bun with mustard, tomatoes, pickles, and lettuce. With roasted broccoli, carrots, and peas on the side.
Oh my goodness, this is making me so hungry!
-----
Good afternoon everyone!
I have been super busy lately. Got my job app turned in, a scholarship mailed off, and some other jobs out of the way. I have a take home math test to finish and another test on Friday and then I will be done with the exception of 3 finals next week!! :dance3:
My cold is starting to clear up but this hasn't been the greatest week so far in terms of OP. Obviously I did good with my 5k and I'm still eating decently (with the exception of Friday) but I am pretty tired and have no desire to exercise tonight. I'll have to make myself. I tried to do 30DS last night but my hips were so sore from my 5k that I just said forget it. Maybe I'll do some boxing or something that doesn't involve too much of my legs.
Have a wonderful evening! :goodvibes
MONDAY QOTDPlease share your favorite breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals. Snacks, too, if you like. What do you eat that leaves you satisfied and you still feel OP for the day?
Breakfast:
Enjoy Life GF Cinnamon Raisin Granola (also oat-free) with Lactaid (also like rice milk)
Lunch:
Turkey and cheddar cheese melted on a product called Corn Thins (They are GF and 22 calories each!)
Dinner:
I'm not really fussy. I love chicken with pasta and sauce/veggies. Turkey tacos are another fave. I also like roasted pork tenderloins, roast whole chickens, and roasted turkey breasts. I prefer breast meat and my parents like wings, drumsticks, and thighs so a whole chicken is great for us.
Snacks:
Fruit like an apple, a banana, or a plum
Cut up veggies like peppers and carrots
Here we celebrate our progress and recognize our superstars.
Reminders:
-after 3 weeks of no reporting, you are dropped from the challenge – can re-start at any time, though
Biggest Loser Fall Challenge Week 17!
This week’s group loss = 30.0 pounds!
Average percentage of weight lost 0.45 %
Total group weight loss so far 1022.4 pounds!
Yahoo, we've topped 1,000!!!
AWESOME!
Retention Rate (compared to the 144 participants we had sign up for our start week on January 1st)
25% (this includes the Losers, Maintainers and Excused people!). Let's keep sending those weights people!
Before the weekly superstar list comes the disclaimer. I am human and I make mistakes. If you have any questions please contact me. For your reference this is the magic percentage of weight lost formula - weight loss for the week divided by weight for last week times 100, that gives us the percentage. Now let me test that with my numbers for week 1, click, click, click goes the calculator. Yes, that agrees with the percentage on the magic spreadsheet. (btw if its been more than 1 week between weigh-ins, then the % loss is divided by the number of weeks, to keep everybody on the same basis)
Now let's get to the good stuff. Who were our superstars of week 17?
The WISH Biggest Loser Spring Challenge Week 17 Superstars!!
#10 - 0.84% - ::Snow White::
#9 - TIE - 1.01% - Heather.Mohler & Jujubee727
#5 - 1.19% - EDuke98080
#4 - 1.27% - ChelleyB
Quote from Dare2Dream: How is your week going? Are you OP (on program)? Are you exercising? Drinking that water? You know what to do to make the magic happen. Get on the wagon. We are all here to help you on the journey. We can do this one day at a time. One bite at a time.
Have a healthy day!
Congratulations cclovesdis!!!
NOW FOR THOSE OF US WHO SET A GOAL FOR THE CHALLENGE!!!
NOTE: This list includes participants who have reported in within the last 3 weeks, once someone misses 3 weigh-ins they are dropped from this report.
How this works: You set your goal for what you want to lose in the challenge. Then I calculate your weight loss in the challenge divided by your goal to get a % to goal.
Anybody can change their goal at anytime (or add a goal) – all you have to do is send me a PM.
Since the goals are an individual thing, the list is just in alphabetical order to make it easier for everybody to find their own name. If there are any questions or suggestions please let me know.
We have done 17 out of 21 weeks, so the challenge is 81% complete.
I find everybody on the list an inspiration and everybody who participates in this challenge is an inspiration in and of themselves. Whether you post, lurk or just pm your weight and check results on Tuesdays, you have made a commitment to yourself. And that is the biggest inspiration of all!BY Octoberbride03
Good Monday morning.
The only thing to make this an okay day is that it is also payday (last day of the month) and the last paycheck was before Easter because of the way the month fell.
Welcome back belledreamer.
I lost track of time and have no time to talk this morning. I have to get to work and hunt down some paper. There is none in the building and we still have 9 weeks left. I also have to get some notes together for tomorrow's classes.
Have a happy and healthy day.
Hope you had a fabulous day and found that paper! :)
Hi All
I'm back and have made the decision to re-commit to this challenge:)
Tomorrow is a new month and so I'm making it a new beginning too-with no more excuses either:lmao:
Walked 90 minutes this morning and am halfway through my water:cool1:
Just like everyone else I've noticed I dont do as well when I dont post on here so I'm going to make time and chat to you all more often:)
Hope everyone has a good, healthy, happy day
I'm so glad to see you here!
Happy Monday morning friends!!!
Its so great that you got your computer fixed and recovered everything! What a great reminder for us all!
Happy lunchtime friends! My lunch was creamy and crunchy and warm and filling..... just what I needed today! :) Small tossed salad topped with balsamic and then a toasted whole wheat sandwich thin topped with warm fat-free refried beans and 1 serving of 2% shredded cheddar and broiled. I call it my "mexican pizza". I love the refried beans! Sometimes I even dab on some salsa, but wasn't in the mood for it today.
I got some picking up done around the house this morning, added a few new photos to a photo collage I hung in the dining room last week, paid a few bills, made beds, hit the TM and then a shower. Then I unpacked my scrapping supplies I brought to DSIL's this weekend. I did my (belated) menu planning for this week and pulled the appropriate things from the freezer. I will buy a few needed grocery items tonight while I am out dropping DD at her evening activity and that will hopefully be it for the week for shopping.
Prom is Saturday and DD does not even have any jewelry yet (but yes, she does have her dress and shoes). Should I be panicked?? I don't even have a CLUE what she wants, so I haven't even looked around. I do have a really pretty pink pendant and matching ring set in silver that she could borrow if she is trying to go low-key with the bling. Otherwise I will be scrambling around tonight and tomorrow to try to find something appropriate and AFFORDABLE!
And here is a question for more experienced PROM folks...... since DD is going solo (meeting friends there) should she have a corsage?? I don't mind buying her a pretty wrist corsage if she is going to look out of place without it..... but I'm not sure the protocol on this. Maybe I could buy one for her AND her friend??
Anyhow.... need to scramble around to accomplish some things here before DS arrives home in 2 hours. These days just FLY by!!
TTYL...........................P
The mexican pizza sounds absolutely GREAT! And on the corsage... I say YES! I think it would be a very lovely touch and would make it more of a prom experience.
Melinda, a big BL congratulations on your PR this week-end at your half! You are having a GREAT running year for sure! ::yes::
Congratulations to all our racers this week-end! You can definitely tell summer racing season is here.
I'm looking forward to hearing how Kayla and Lara do at Expedition Everest this week-end!
I'm not too good at squeezing things in if I get to the end of the day and I haven't done a workout but I always have at least two sets of workout clothes in my car so I have no excuse not to get myself out and do something before I get to that point. If I use a set of clothes, then I make sure I get a new one in there right away. Always having at least two races on the calendar helps me not to skip any workouts.
Thanks for coaching this week, Melinda!
CC, thanks for the HH coaching! Hope you are enjoying your job!
Nice to see you, belledreamer!
Dona, it's going to be a long 9 weeks without paper at your school. Hope someone stashed some away somewhere.
luvpoohandcompany, hope you don't mind I'm joining you on the recommitment!
Pamela, thank goodness for the backup! Have you ever tried Carbonite? It's an online backup and it backs up offsite automatically. Having an external hard drive is good but if you have to store it offsite to avoid having everything wiped if something happened at home, God forbid. We use it for our office and it works great!
And while I am not an experienced prom person, I think it would be nice if you got your DD and her friend both corsages.
Jill, congrats on being HH winner!
Hello to everyone I missed in my catching up as of this page post!
I'm lucky that I bounced back to my same number I've been at for a couple of weeks. The way I've been eating I could easily have found myself with a gain. With four weeks until my next half marathon it is way past time for me to get ahold of myself, recommit and get a good solid plan in place for the rest of the summer. :beach:
Have a great day all!
Thank you so much Lisa! I know you will crush that half marathon! Your training in the next couple of weeks are super important to keeping your base cardio up. Remember to get plenty of rest before hand. I took it super easy for three full days before the race (not totally intentional, but its how it worked out) and I think that did a lot to help me. I can't wait to hear all about your training and race!
QOTD: I try to at least get in my sit ups! I drink tons of water too!
Good afternoon all!
Got back awhile ago from getting Ash's mole removed! She started freaking out a bit but after about 15 minutes she calmed down and we got through it! We are watching Monte Carlo right now! No soccer tonight and she can't shower either. We stopped and picked up some Chinese food. I didn't eat much: 3 crab rangoons, 1 beef teriyaki, 3 chicken fingers and some scallion pancakes. I'll have a low calorie dinner. I did 50 minutes on the elliptical this morning and plan on doing more later. Drinking lots and lots of water.
I need to do some picking up while we watch the movie. I may put some of my clothes in the suitcase for the cruise! I bagged most of them up yesterday!
TTFN :tigger:
Glad she got it over with and I wish her a speedy recovery!
a quick hello and :scared1: at my weekend gain. baby's baptism, stress eating, and way too much beer killed my loss and then some (like, alot) for all of last week.
today is better but still not great. good thing i have aerobics tonight ::yes::
just wanted to pop in to congratulate melinda on her PR, as well as say HOORAY! to rose and lindsay on their half marathons this past weekend!! this group is awesome! :yay: i was shooting for a half for next week but couldn't get my training up in time. so, in two weeks i'll do a 10k. good enough for now and then in august there's a bronx half marathon done by NYRR. hoping to follow in the footsteps of our awesome half marathoners!
Thank you so very much! Good luck on that 10K! Remember, your time on the 10K can be used for corral placement at a Disney race! And if you get a faster time later (anytime before packet pickup at a Disney race) you can use that to be put into a higher corral. Good luck!
Hello! Hello! Hello!
I missed you guys over the weekend!!! Wonderful day of scrapbooking on Saturday :) I finally got through 4 vacations (18 pages) and have made some headway into the Disney Through the Years book. Man, was I exhausted when we left there! They serve dinner but my friend wanted to go to 5Guys Burgers...I had never been...and I will never go again. SHe said, have the cheeseburger and fries...they are small....WRONG. I ate about 1/2 the burger without the bun and a handful of fries....it sat in the pit of my stomach alllll night long....NEVER again. i will stick to my chicken and fish thank you!!
Sunday was a day with mom. We did some shopping at The Christmas Tree Shop (I still find it absolutely hysterical that the CHristmas Tree Shop never sells Christmas trees!), Marshall's, Kohl's, and Michael's. We both picked up a few things but nothing special. Then we went back to the parent's house for an early dinner. I downloaded the digital scrapbooking program I bought mom for Christmas to her computer and she bought some additional pre-designed pages and papers. By the time we finished it was 8Pm!
I'm still fighting this cold and am left with the coughing....which totally KILLED my exercise this past week. When you can't breathe, it's not a good idea to try to go for a walk :faint: I'm on the spin list tonight so hopefully I will make it through without a coughing fit. On top of all of this my TOM came early :confused3 Just shoot me now!
Wishing all the runners from this weekend a really nice rest/recovery!! You guys deserve it! I'm still thinking about the princess for my 40th birthday....darn you, Kathy! I guess it's great motivation to get back out there!
I missed the weigh in this week at WW (no evening meetings on MOndays) so I will try again this weekend....
Hang in there Losers!!
Sounds like you had a pretty good weekend! I hope that cold goes completely away for you ASAP!
Congrats to you and your family! You had some great times!! I am positive you can totally do the Disney race with a great time.
I assumed the treadmill = road so when I switched about a month ago I realized that I wasn't properly training. But, I am sure that on race day I'll feel very pumped and will push myself hard enough. I know I can make it, but I just want to keep in front of the sweeper too! Thanks for the tips!
Most of my days are planned ahead so I know when and when I won't have time for exercise. If I have something in the evening I'll workout as soon as I'm back from class. If I am short on time I'll do 30DS since it's only about 20-30 minutes, or just skip depending on how my week has been and what I'm actually doing.
Awesome job on the soda!! That was the first thing I ever did on my health journey and it's a great kick starter! After 5 years and I really hate the taste of that stuff, but like you love a good sprite when I'm sick. I don't know what it is about it.
I understand the lack of motivation. I have had a couple of those weeks this year. Push through it and hopefully you'll pick it back up.
You are making great progress! Don't worry if you aren't going as fast as you want. Aim for distance, not speed, as long as you beat the sweepers it's cool! And even if you don't, you tried. Something that I do when I run is I'll think I want to do 5, after mile 2 I feel like stopping so I say, just .25 more miles and then I'll quit and when I get there I say another .25. So you juts keep going a little at a time and before you know it, you'll have gone an extra mile or more. It's easier to push yourself in small amounts.
:hug: Sorry about your friends.
I had to :lmao: at your Phantom comment. I loved the movie though I haven't seen it in forever but I totally was all "Noooooooo!!!" when I found out they were doing a sequel.
Glad you got your computer fixed and all your things are still there!! :thumbsup2 Every few weeks I go through and delete all my subscriptions that I don't need too. It definitely saves some time.
Thanks for the reminder! I have an external hardrive that I usually back things up on but I haven't done so in a couple months. I should probably get that done tomorrow. ::yes::
Thanks!
I laughed at your comment about the price of honor students. I hear you, I was involved in a lot in HS and I felt like I was dishing out money for fundraisers or trips every week. Definitely not fun for me or my mom!
I eat the same breakfast almost everyday and it is:
2 cups multigrain cheerios
1 cup silk unsweetened Almond Milk
4-5 strawberries cut up w/ 5-6 blueberries.
Snacks:
Apple with PB
Belvita Breakfast Bars
Ghiradelli Dark Chocolate
Popcorn!
Meals:
Tofu with cheesy hash browns, spinach, and peppers.
Vegetarian Chicken Patty on a 100 calorie bun with mustard, tomatoes, pickles, and lettuce. With roasted broccoli, carrots, and peas on the side.
Oh my goodness, this is making me so hungry!
-----
Good afternoon everyone!
I have been super busy lately. Got my job app turned in, a scholarship mailed off, and some other jobs out of the way. I have a take home math test to finish and another test on Friday and then I will be done with the exception of 3 finals next week!! :dance3:
My cold is starting to clear up but this hasn't been the greatest week so far in terms of OP. Obviously I did good with my 5k and I'm still eating decently (with the exception of Friday) but I am pretty tired and have no desire to exercise tonight. I'll have to make myself. I tried to do 30DS last night but my hips were so sore from my 5k that I just said forget it. Maybe I'll do some boxing or something that doesn't involve too much of my legs.
Have a wonderful evening! :goodvibes
Your food faves sound great!
Breakfast:
Enjoy Life GF Cinnamon Raisin Granola (also oat-free) with Lactaid (also like rice milk)
Lunch:
Turkey and cheddar cheese melted on a product called Corn Thins (They are GF and 22 calories each!)
Dinner:
I'm not really fussy. I love chicken with pasta and sauce/veggies. Turkey tacos are another fave. I also like roasted pork tenderloins, roast whole chickens, and roasted turkey breasts. I prefer breast meat and my parents like wings, drumsticks, and thighs so a whole chicken is great for us.
Snacks:
Fruit like an apple, a banana, or a plum
Cut up veggies like peppers and carrots
YUM!
Here we celebrate our progress and recognize our superstars.
Reminders:
-after 3 weeks of no reporting, you are dropped from the challenge – can re-start at any time, though
-if anybody knows they will miss weighing in, just PM and let me know and you’ll be marked excused
