Biggest Loser "No Excuses" 2012 Team Challenge for Losers and Maintainers!!!

Evening Everyone!

QOTD: I don't give myself any rewards, but I was actually thinking about that before I saw today's QOTD. I was thinking about using money as a reward. I'm not sure that I have thought about it enough to know for sure yet though. I am thinking about getting a spare change jar. I want to save up for some things. (including an apartment)

Hope everyone is having a good day. Don't forget to PM dvccruiser76 your weight from Friday.

Time to get some more laundry done!

So DH irritated me tonight. I don't think he wants to do the marathon with me. He doesn't really seem on board. So, I suppose it's a good thing I didn't register us. I'm not sure what to do now. Register in hopes he gets on board, register myself, wait a bit or give up. It really kind of ticks me off.
I'm going to train as if we are doing it, and I hope that between that and seeing DR I can get some more weight shed a little quicker.
I don't know, now I feel deflated.

WooHoo!! I broke into the 180's today!!

Doing the happy dance!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! :cool1:

Karen I haven't been fitted lately but they have changed much since DD was born. I really liked the lilyette self expressions but it looks like they have changed design and I'm not happy with them. I also got the Bali U something or other, like those ok but the inside of the band can get itchy at times.
I'm going to try to get to the maidenform outlet this weekend and see what I can find there.
Did you find anything?? I hope you had a better experience!!

Hi Karen!! I went on the computer real quick in my bedroom, popped in and saw your post and decided since the sun is shining I need to join you on the deck with an ice coffee and enjoy the end of my vacation week. This day was a bonus. It was supposed to be cloudy and showery, but it's another gorgeous day. So cheers!!
And congrats on that speedy run/walk you did!! Are you run/walking or mostly running? I did the math, and it does put you just under the sweeper pace, so I think it's time to start planning a disney race. Hmmmm, I definitely want to do one in 2014, probably princess half for my 50th bday, and if I recall you are turning 40 that year so wouldn't that be fun?!?!?! Think about it!!!! And congrats on the new sizes!!!

Hope you are all enjoying the weekend!
So glad you popped on!!! I'm jogging mostly and fast walking....my flat terrain time. I need to do some hills and inclines to really get a feel. Hmmmm... you do bring up an interesting point...we do have an obligation to celebrate our milestone birthdays in a spectacular way.....so I will give you a firm MAYBE. I will need to do more training and at least do a 10K before I fully commit....ohhhhh....this is sooo exciting!!!

So glad you had a fun week off!!! :)

Hi everyone...

The last few days have been an up and down emotional rollercoaster. Yesterday, I was EXCITED! Yesterday, marked the 180th day (6 months) that I had been on this weight loss journey using my Sparkpeople account. I've learned a lot about myself and I can't wait for the next 6 months.
Nice job on the weight loss!!!

Well, the 5K went well! I finished in 40:15 (would have been thrilled to be in the 30's, even 39:59). I took some walk breaks and didn't start back up running when I told myself I would - so I know I actually could have done a 30-something. I just need to discipline myself a little more. My average pace was 12:49, and I am thrilled about that! My 14 year old son Zach finished in 22:54! My 13 year old daughter Madison finished in 39:13, taking 11 minutes and 36 seconds off her Thanksgiving 5K!

Lisa Have a FABULOUS race tomorrow! Just keep swimming, er, run/walk/running! You are going to do an amazing job!

Melinda :)
MELINDA!!! Well done!!! Nice job!!! :cool1::cool1:

Sunday QOTD: What do you give yourself as a treat for a "good week?" Is it a special food, a beauty treatment, a new pair of jeans?

TTFN :tigger:

Hmmmmm....nothing really. I guess I give myself the satisfaction of knowing that I (hopefully) had a loss and that I am staying on track!

Last night, as a matter of fact- it was a friend's birthday and we went out to Dave and Buster's to celebrate. I ate a bunch of stuff I shouldn't have (chicken strips, fries, queso, bananas foster cake) and about 20 minutes later, I felt so sick I thought I was gonna have to leave :( I got over it fortunately, but I will remember that feeling next time I want to eat all that junk again!
UGH! I feel your pain...a little. I was at D&B last night and it was sooo tough to stay OP with so few choices. I opted for a salad with grilled chicken and a peach iced tea. It was so hot in the arcade that I probably sweat off a few pounds too!! It's a tough place to eat the right foods...

I don't really reward myself for a good week- it's more of it's own reward :) Pretty soon though I'll have to start buying myself a new wardrobe as a reward! In the meantime I think I'll start putting $10 on a Disney gift card for each good week...after all, the F&WF is going on next time I go to WDW, it would be a shame to miss it ;)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Happy Sunday EVening! It's super raining and stormy here. I think I'm getting a cold too :( Where did my beautiful weather go??
Good OP day today....mushroom omlette with goat cheese with coffee for breakfast, chobani with coffee for lunch, and tilapia with brown rice and light creamed spinach for dinner. I did treat myself with a cup of frozen yogurt fro dessert :)
Back to spinning tomorrow and a really busy week this week....I promise to pop in when I can!
Hope your race went well Lisa!!
No, Karen, we didn't go out. Well, we went to Lowes to buy garden stuff and a new trash can rail (Kids broke the old one). And it poured today so I didn't feel like going out.
Maybe one day this week.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!
I have no plan....that's always my problem!! Maybe I should get one...off to grab my paper and pen :thumbsup2
Buffy, I have learned that the only one that I can control is me. While I completely understand that you would love to do the race together, maybe this one is just for you? Hang in there because I KNOW you can do it!!!
Hi everyone!
What a busy weekend...we were all over the place with errands yesterday and today. Last night, we hosted a small Wildtree party (yum). I was pretty much off plan yesterday, but I think I'm okay overall. Today was back on track, and tomorrow should be no problem, as I'll be back in the work routine.
QOTD/treat: I don't treat myself consistently for a good weigh-in, but at the moment I'm definitely going the new clothes route. Hitting goal and finding that most of my closet was too big was a great excuse to get out and go shopping!
QOTD/plan of attack: Stay the course with the stationary bike and modified 30DS. Watch points really carefully because of the reduced activity. Get good news from the orthopedist (next x-ray is on Wednesday!). Don't get too frustrated over having to move so....very....slowly. ;P
Tomorrow morning I go over to our local neighborhood school to register both girls for next year. DH and I are really excited - both DDs have been in a private program, and we're looking forward to getting them into our county system, which is very strong, and to saving all that tuition money!
Hope everyone has a great Monday!
Hi DIS friends! I have missed you. Tonight I am filled with a sweet sorrow. Yesterday was the last high school musical for my oldest son. He had the lead this year. It is amazing seeing your child on stage in front of hundreds, singing and dancing. We have no idea where he gets this from ... my husband and I don't like the limelight. But ... I am glad it is over too ... so that things slow down a little. We are now just down to track and various senior year activities. All of this crazy busy has not been good for my weight loss journey. I am on the wagon again this week. :goodvibes
Check out allrecipes.com Lots of great recipes! I tried one that I posted last night and it was great! Will definitely do it again! And the best part was that I could put the chicken in frozen!
I went to bed early last night to read and ended up falling asleep early. I didn't even put the tv on. Brian played his game for a while...not sure what time he came to bed. Gotta leave for church in a little over an hour so I will post my QOTD and get myself moving!
Sunday QOTD: What do you give yourself as a treat for a "good week?" Is it a special food, a beauty treatment, a new pair of jeans?
I don't drink during the week so on the weekend if I have had a good week I make myself my favorite drink! I'm trying to lose this weight so I don't have to buy new clothes for the cruise! I have bought a few new tops, just don't want to have to buy too many pairs of shorts, etc!
TTFN :tigger:
I am tending to "reward" myself too much (with food) and need to back off! When I am eating right and exercising everyday, I feel SO much better. I need to keep that in mind.
Evening Everyone!
CC ... I read this great idea one time about rewarding yourself with money. It was "kind of" a reward. You would give a family member or friend at work an allotted about of money. Then that person would pay you every week if you met your goal. If you didn't meet the goal, your friend or family member got to keep the money. So, you could give a friend 50.00 and lose a pound a week for 5 weeks. If you don't lose the pound, they get to keep the 10.00. It was a really interesting way to motivate someone.
Have a great week everyone!
:wave2:
What a busy weekend...we were all over the place with errands yesterday and today. Last night, we hosted a small Wildtree party (yum).
What is good from Wildtree? I had never heard of it until about a week ago when a friend invited me to a party next week-- her sister has just started selling it I guess?
Exhausted tonight. I spent much of the day prepping and cooking for the week. I made WW Florentine tomato soup (Yum!), chopped spinach for morning smoothies, chopped lettuce and veggies for salads, cut up leftover chicken for the salads, cleaned out the refrigerator, and made a double batch of gyro meat to go in the freezer and delivered half of it to the friend that cleaned my house.
The worst part is that when it was all said and done I only ended up with lunches for 3 days this week. Going to have to make some soup and will make the tuna salad Wednesday. I skipped making it today because I had a bunch of left over chicken to use. Have a big bag of broccoli too so I will probably make broccoli soup. My biggest problem with making "diet" food is that my family likes all of it so I have to share--especially with DD 12! :rotfl: She loves soup and salads.
While eating dinner tonight I bit the inside of my lip and cut it up pretty good-- hurts like the dickens. Guessing that will help the weight loss effort this week!
I only heard of them last summer for the first time - a friend of mine in Wisconsin introduced me to their stuff when we were visiting, and I placed my first order after that trip. :) I love the rubs (so good just on chicken!), and the sauce starters - we have the pesto blend, and it's great. The grapeseed oils are really good, too, and I like the baking mixes. I'm trying some new stuff this time, too - the pancake mix, the slow cooker sauce, the meatloaf starter... I like the company's all-natural and health-conscious focus. They have lots of gluten-free options, too, if that's a concern. Have fun at the party!
Good MOnday morning
We have had a very rainy night last night. We some water in our basement but not too bad. I was out at last night and it was really coming down. Luckily I didn't run into any really bad flooding coming home.
I went to the dinner for the local high school theater group. The parents group gave my gf and myself tote bags that said "So many costumes so little time"
Mary•Poppins I can understand how you feel. My son was never the lead but I was so involved that it was very sad to see his last performance. It was great to see him sing and dance again last month in the school's anniversary performance. His gf just auditioned for a local community theater. I think once he gets a full time job and gets a better schedule he might start trying out for some of the community theater in the area.
LTS I hate when other people eat the food I had plannned on having. I don't have that much of problem here but sometimes it does happen.
myweegirls good luck enrolling the girls in school.
Rememberthemagic98 How are you feeling now that word is out that you are leaving. Dh has made up his mind that next year will be his last year and he feels pretty good about it.
B&B I am not a runner but I would want my dh to run with me.
cc how are you doing these days?
Lisa my handiwork journal is where I keep track of things I have finished. When I get down about not getting things done I read through it.
HI to everyone I missed.
Off to get dressed.
Have a happy and healthy day.
Morning everyone. Am I the worst participant on here???
I'm not putting my weight in this week. I had a colonoscopy on Friday (everythings fine) so my weight was waaaay lower than it really is. Nothing like losing 5 lbs in 12 hours! :scared1: it's back though. Oh well.
Happy to report I ran my first race post-baby yesterday! A 4 miler in central park and, for me, I was fast! I wasn't in the top half of women by any means but top two thirds :) and for my age I was in the top half.
There was a woman racing on hand crutches (not the kid you put under your armpits). It was amazing. I wish I could have taken a picture to show all of the WISH folks. If that doesn't inspire us all I don't know what does! I must think of her next time I just "don't feel" like working out or being healthy!
Welcome Back, Nancy! I was just thinking I hadn't seen you on here in awhile!
Horrible night's sleep last night so I skipped my 5am workout! Tummy is bugging me a bit but I think it's TOM! I usually don't have cramps so maybe it was something I ate. Oh well! I will be meeting my BFF at the mall this morning for a nice long fast walk.
Going to run to Target before she gets there and get a few things including a Minnie Mouse tank I saw in the Target ad.
Time to make Ash's lunch and put some clothes on for the car pool!
Ugh, I get you. My friend and I were onboard for a half marathon and she just slowly gave up. I was annoyed at first, but decided I was the only one who really wanted to do it in the first place I couldn't make her do anything.
You can do it yourself and maybe you will motivate him to either do this one or join you for another marathon! :woohoo:
Congrats on the race! Wow, on crutches? That would be a challenge, very inspiring!
Good morning everyone.
This week is so much nicer. And we are oficially THIRTY days away from WDW! :banana:
I realized when I went shopping on Saturday how glad I was that I decided to lose this weight. I know if I had went 4 months ago I would've felt miserable everytime I tried something on. I actually liked every bathing suit I tried on and that's almost unheard of for women! :scared1:
Tigger813-Is the tank hot pink? If so I just picked that top up Saturday for our trip, it is so adorable!
Only 3.4lbs away from my goal. I'm hoping to pull out 5lbs gone by May 23rd!
Sunday QOTD: What do you give yourself as a treat for a "good week?" Is it a special food, a beauty treatment, a new pair of jeans?
:
I've never really plAnned any type of treat for a good weigh in....the better number on the scale is treat enough! That said, with my weight loss came the need for new clothes and since I've been at my goal size, I will splurge on better, investment pieces rather than my typical cheapo clothing choices. Of course, I still love a good deal from Old Navy or Goodwill!;)
Saturday QOTD:What is your favorite form of exercise? I know, crazy question, but there must be something we have all come to like to do! It can be as simple as walking!
.
Sadly I still have not found that "favorite" exercise that I look forward to doing. What I find most tolerable? Mostly some walking/running combos, with some weight training thrown in. I also throw in the occasional spin class and/or step class.
WooHoo!! I broke into the 180's today!!
Doing the happy dance! :cool1::cool1::cool1:
Great, great news!!! Sending you a virtual hug!:hug:
******************
Happy Monday morning friends! Today's rain is changing my cleaning plans. Can't haul the contents of the garage into the driveway. And I don't want to do yard work in pouring rain. So it looks like either a full scrub down of the master bath or some basement organizing. Ick to both but they need to be done.
Yesterday I finally got a photo collage hung in my dining room. It was a long time in coming. I bought the frames back in December. And I got our portraits back in late January. But I kept procrastinating on hanging the frames.....didn't want to deal with pulling out the level and tape measure, etc. But I bit the bullet and truly it took under an hour...and looks great! I'm thrilled with the way it turned out. Some of the frames still have the members of the Target family in them!:lmao: but I will put in appropriate photos as soon as I can get access to my photos on my computer.
Off to wake up DD. she has a study session with her AP Chem group this morning. They are meeting at the school at 9 am and driving to a pancake house in the next town. I can assure you I was not dedicated enough to meet a study group during school vacation when I was in HS! I'm so proud of her dedication.
And I need breakfast! So hungry this morning! TTYL........P
MaryPoppins Congrats to your son on the lead role. Sorry its so bittersweet. What awesome high school memories for him, though.
Donac I love the idea of the tote bags- what a nice gesture!
BernardandMissBianca I always run the Disney halfs by myself. My husband walked one of the 5K's with me, and one with the kids, and I absolutely love that. I would love him to take on a bigger commitment to actually train with me, but I know that's not what is happening right now. I hope to inspire him if I just keep on keeping on. I agree with what others have said here: just keep doing your thing and maybe he will join you for the next one. I am very proud of you! Keep up the good work!
Nancy Congrats on your race! That is amazing! Post some pics if you can. I would love to do a race in Central Park (never been there). I actually looked at a race in NYC (NYC Half) but average pace had to be solidly in the 12's to avoid getting swept, and I just am not there yet. The race was in March. Maybe next year!!! Keep it up!
Kayla Your trip is getting so close! Exciting! I'm glad the clothes shopping is going well.
Pjilla I agree on the clothes. When I am closer to goal weight I look forward to buying some nicer clothes. I think that will help me stay at my goal weight. If I spend money on clothes that I really like (and I'm not talking Chanel here, but just nicer stuff than I would buy at my current "temporary" size) I will not want to gain any weight back and not fit in them. I can't wait to be there!
Congrats on getting the picture hung up! I have so many things like that around the house I need to get done! Slowly but surely!
=====================
Well, today on tap I have an easy 4 mile run and then a bike ride. There is spin class tonight but im not sure I can make it. Possibly.
Have a great OP day everyone!!
Sunday QOTD: I don't usually treat myself at the end of the week. However, I do for every 10 pounds I lose. I still haven't decided what I'm doing when I hit this next 10 pounds lost which will be when I lose 2 more pounds.
Saturday QOTD: I love to swim. I swim 4 to 5 times a week anywhere from half a mile to a mile. It on average takes anywhere from 35 minutes (half mile) to 75 minutes (1 mile).
kayla you are SO close to goal! amazing! :cool1:
melinda running in CP is fun, i'd like to do it more often. when i train for the marathon i think i will do my long runs on the weekends down there. i don't like to travel to run but if i'm going to be running 12+ miles, i might as well have something fun to look at while i'm running. you should do a race there! check out nyrr.org for upcoming races! the half marathons are next to impossible to get into though. they sell out immediately and have a lottery to get into them. it's nuts. but the shorter races are much easier to get into. i just signed up for the 10k on 5/12 yesterday with no problem. let me know if you decide on a race! i'll meet you :)
pamela when i was a kid i was definitely not that dedicated to studying...until AP classes came along. the fear of not passing the test was enough to get me to study alot! pancakes sound like a nice break from studying too!
dona :wave2: i looooove tote bags. i love getting them, i love giving them. love them. one can never have to many. you deserve it :)
tracey oooo a disney tank from target?? pics please!
sunday's qotd: i've decided to reward myself if i make it into the 130s (was 142 this morning). WHEN i do i will use my gift certificate for a mani/pedi that i won at a card party in february :)
i know we need the rain but not being able to play outside is crummy! the children at mommy and me this morning were NIGHTMARES! all of them! my kid included. :headache: i will have to think of an activity for this afternoon after nap time. thank goodness i have kickboxing tonight. i will need to blow off some steam after this morning
Just a drive by post today....
I'm feeling like a cold is coming on :sick:!! Meeting at 7:45am was not the way I wanted to begin this week...AND the parents were being very difficult with all of us. With the all the hub bub getting out the door early and being mentally prepared for the meeting I forgot my breakfast in the kitchen. We were in for almost 2 hours :scared1:
I left the meeting an immediately went to CVS for cold pills, tissues, coldeeze, and breakfast at dunkin donuts - veggie eggwhite with a coffee with skim. For lunch I ended up with 2 soups since I am now chilled to the bone and my throat hurts (turkey and rice AND veggie.) I'm heading for hot tea in a few minutes too... Afterschool meeting at 2:30 and meeting with a visiting college at 3:30....will my day ever end???
I woke up this morning feeling fat :confused3. Yesterday I felt good about my body so what the heck did I do in my sleep??? I'm signed up for spin tonight so maybe I just need to sweat it out of me? I'm upping the water intake to flush out the yuck as well.....
I hate to be one BIG complainer here today :sad2: (I just re-read my post) but I want to start today all over again...on right foot!~;)
I'll try to get on later when my mood changes....maybe after spin but no promises!!
