Whew finally able to do replies today. It's good to be needed. :goodvibes

Liz, congrats on reaching the halfway point on the C25K! :cool1: I'm a Brooks Ariel girl myself. And may I suggest the Donald would be a ton of fun in January?

QOTD: I have many quotes but I think one that specifically relates to health is "This much I knew. If you are what you eat, then I only wanna eat the good stuff." from Remy in Ratatouille. It is so true! I mean, it's kind of simple when you think, if you eat good things you will be good and healthy, so why is it so hard? Sometimes this reminds me of what I really want.

Great quote! :thumbsup2

I didn't eat a lot of chocolate, but, had other junk. I did realize that the junk tastes good a first, but makes you feel like crap later in the day. BLAH ....

Yep, it's funny how that stuff doesn't taste as good as we remember! ;)

Tracey, congrats on all your exercise this week! :thumbsup2

It sounds like some people have been having some tough times, so :hug: to everyone who needs it! Remember to try your best, come here for support, and do what you can! We are all worth it and deserve it!

You, too! :flower3:

Way to stay OP, CC! :thumbsup2

Popping in to say hello! As Linda said (no, you didn't step on any toes!), my blog will be private starting on Wednesday. What does this mean? If you'd like to keep reading it, please PM me your e-mail, or let me know at gretchenlf1@gmail.com, so I can add you to the invite list.

Thanks for letting us know! :goodvibes

Sorry you've been having such a hard time but so glad you're back. You can definitely do this.

Well said! ::yes::

I'm back, starting fresh again. I did good earlier last week, following ww again, and am starting a fresh week today.

Woo hoo for a fresh start! :woohoo: I sense a ONE-derland party soon! :teeth:

QOTD Tuesday 4/10/12: Which of these tips do you use to get yourself back on track when needed? Or do you have another tried and true method you want to share?

I've used all of these at various times to get myself back on track. I especially like tracking because many times I find I haven't been as bad as I thought. ;)

QOTD: i'm halfway back on track. i'm taking my friend's daughters to see titanic this afternoon and plan on having sour patch kids. to combat that, i ran 4 miles this morning. :lmao: i also cooked last night for today's dinner as well so there's no chance for it to be 6pm tonight and me say, nah i don't want to cook, let's just order out. dinner's already made! just have to boil some water and cook pasta.

I'd say you are on the track and rocking! :rockband:

Buffy, what did you decide about January? :hippie:

Linda, have you tried d-cot radio? You can play the songs on demand! :music: I like Disradio, too.

Karen, another Brooks Ariel girl here. Nice to see you around. :hug:

And speaking of people we haven't seen for awhile Christopher hope you are having a wonderful time on your cruises! :cool2:

I am a control freak and it's hard to let go of stuff. But letting go is something I need to work on. That and getting rid of all the excuses I use to tie myself down. I'm just over it, haha. So I'm letting go starting now :)

You can do it! :hippie: And you are so not a slacker. :hug:

belledreamer, so sorry for the stressful day. :flower3:

Okay I am out of here to run outside for the first time since the Tinker Bell Half. :cool2: Last year the first run of spring resulted in ingestion of a bug -- hoping to avoid that this time. :rotfl2:

Oh my gosh, I am SO tempted to sign up for one of these! (Says the woman who only just started running and hasn't even done a 5K yet...) What's the site? DH and I can talk about the feasibility of an extra trip once I know if I can even make the date, and then I'll really have a goal for my new running habit...

Liz

http://espnwwos.disney.go.com/events/rundisney/wdw-marathon/

here's the link! Let me know what you decide. And for what it's worth I've only run one 5K at disney last year. I sucked at it but I finished in time to get a medal!!!

Buffy, what did you decide about January? :hippie:

Haven't had time to talk to the hubby yet, he's in DC for the week.
But I'm really tempted to do the marathon for the 20th anniversary medal but I'm so scared I'll fail. Damn self doubter! One thing I can't seem to overcome yet. The biggest thing is I don't want to do it alone. DS can't run it because he's only 15. Mom said she'd watch the kids and take them to school for me.

here's the link! Let me know what you decide. And for what it's worth I've only run one 5K at disney last year. I sucked at it but I finished in time to get a medal!!!

I did it. Hooooly wow, I signed up for the half marathon. I am actually going to do this. I looked up the link earlier today because I couldn't get it off my mind. DH was already thinking about going down that weekend for a DisDads weekend, so I knew that weekend would work.

Then I did a C25K workout tonight, and I felt *great.* My best one yet, with 8-minute jog intervals. I went at a 11:37 pace, and I felt like I could have run the whole thing. I love my new Brooks shoes (I have the Adrenalines, and it was a noticeable difference!).

That got me thinking that with the right training plan (hello, Jeff Galloway!) I could definitely get my distance up. And I have friends here who run, too, and I can work with them. So I told DH I was sure I could do this and even more sure that I wanted to do this. I'll be 40 this summer, and it seems like a great way to greet that decade.

So I'm in! Aaaaaahhhh! Sign me up for the WISH meet! :woohoo:

XO

I give up on trying to catch up! I was trying but there is no way I will be able to.

So was in Illinois for Spring Break with family. I had very little control over my food options and overall the choices were yechy. So I ended up only gaining about a pound which makes me pretty happy!

I started my new long term sub job today. The same type of job-- guidance secretary-- but this office is different so far. Very quiet and rather calm! The other school they were crazy and things were very fast paced many days. Everyone is extremely nice and were so friendly. My boss from the other assignment called me to check up and see how I was doing which was so sweet of her. Mostly I was bored today. They didn't have me set up on the computer and it was after lunch before I could get on so not much for me to do. I had forgot my book :headache: and was kicking myself. I used my ipod until the battery ran out and then just futzed around trying not to cross that fine line between "familiarizing myself with the office" and "snooping in all the drawers" :rotfl: The great news is. . . The bathroom is right by my desk!!! :woohoo: I can drink my water and not worry about having to run to the bathroom (as long as it isn't too frequent). The bad news though is that there is no reason for me to actually move more than about 10 steps in any direction during the day. I was really itching to go and stretch my legs with a walk around the halls a few times.

I have my lunch set for this week. Finally got DH to the grocery store and now we need a Trader Joe's and Costco run this weekend. I need to get everything put into my WW tracking. I gave up on even trying while I was gone-- no internet connection and no way to really weigh and measure plus some of the things I wasn't even sure how they would be counted. I hope that I can at least show a pound or two loss this week. My goal is to lose 5 pounds by the end of April and get myself out of this "decade".

I started out well today and then it was all downhill...

I had premade a smoothie for breakfast which wasn't that bad. It's based off of a recipe my nutritionist gave me: (hemp milk, rice protein powder, powdered peanut butter, blackberries, bananas, a leaf of kale, ground flax seeds, and agave nectar). Lunch was kale chips with a quinoa salad.

After lunch is when I really struggle. I had some left over trail mix that is Gluten Free but has oats which may or may not cause problems. It's a bulk sized bag from Costco so you can see where this is heading... I'm going to take it to the teacher's lounge tomorrow as I don't need it there. I am a very opportunistic snacker. I had my night class today and was not prepared with dinner so ended up at McDonald's which was not in any way approved.

But, I did take a nice walk today with the dogs and 2/3 meals were good, so that's progress.

Tomorrow I will be better. My school won our districts weight loss challenge so we get free Zumba classes and I am looking forward to that.

Good Wednesday morning.

I spent yesterday mowing a lawn with dh and then in the late afternoon I did the taxes. I have to look them over one more time. There was something new that popped up that I want to look at but I am pretty happy with the results. I will probably send them in today.

I have some sewing to do and I want to finish that project by tomorrow afternoon. I also want to finish a pair of socks that I am working on for myself. Friday I have to work with some friends on organizing costumes.

I need to find some time for grocery shopping. My eating hasn't been too bad but it could be better. There wasn't much chocolate so it hasn't been too bad but I glad it is almost gone.

Congrats to all our biggest losers this week.

Have a happy and healthy day.

Good morning all! :goodvibes

Today it's WOO HOO WEDNESDAY!

QOTD Wednesday 4/11/12: That means you all are going to make the list today by sharing a woo hoo moment from this week -- it can be anything that you want, a scale victory, a NSV, a change in your work-out. The only criteria is that it had to make you go "woo hoo." :woohoo:

Be back later to answer and for my replies.

Have a great day all! :flower3:

Morning friends! Another busy week here! Trying to help DS finish up his model of the Lincoln Memorial, early release day for the kids today, etc etc. Plus still primarily working with my Ipad as far as internet access goes, so typing much of anything is a PITA. Using DD's laptop today, though..... but sssshhhh... don't tell her!

Things are going well here, but exercise is getting harder to fit in lately. But step class is on the schedule for tonight!

Anyone else do a :eek: at the previews for next week's BL episode?? I hadn't heard ANYTHING about it! Can't wait to see.

Off to do MORE laundry.... seems like I can't keep up with it lately! BTW, anyone have a GREAT stain remover recipe for volcanic type mud??? DD never unpacked her jacket from Costa Rica..... I found it this weekend still rolled in a ball in a ziptop bag....and the mud stains from ziplining might as well be PAINT.... two washes later and it is still covered in mud. I wouldn't care if it were just a cheap windbreaker, but this is the outer layer of her LL Bean winter coat, so I'd like to salvage it. It is medium purple, so I'm avoiding bleach for now.... but I don't even think that bleach would help. I think I'm going to make up a batch of the stain remover that I used when the kids were little (Cascade and Clorox II dissolved in hot water) and give it a try with my fingers crossed.

Off to do laundry and dishes (although my bed is already made.....;) )and spray paint columns for the Lincoln project.... which is due tomorrow! Miss having the time to chat with you all..... prayers that you all are doing well.......P

Well, my plan to run straight away this morning didn't work out. First off, early this morning I woke up with a pounding head, thinking I was going to be sick! I have never had a headache wake me up before! :sick::confused: I did manage to get back to sleep and it is going away--but it is taking its sweet time! I might have just run anyway (maybe the beat of my footsteps would have matched the pound in my head--ha ha) but it is raining! The 2 combined were enough for me to say never mind. I almost climbed back into bed after doing the chauffer run, but figured it wouldn't help. So here I am :surfweb:. Think I'll just lounge around in my jammies.

Liz, good job signing up for a race!

Buffy, I know you can do it! :hug:

LTS, glad the bathroom is close and you'll be getting your water in

My wahoo was looking through some pictures and noticing 1)how often I seem to wear a particular sweater and 2)that sweater is getting loose!

OK so am I nuts to want to aim for the full? 20th anniversary race, 20th wedding anniversary. LOL
I must be insane to even think it!! LOL

I'll see what DH says.
GO FOR IT:woohoo:

Lisa, aside from both of us being born on the best day of the year, I knew I liked your taste in running shoes ;)

I hope your run went well and the only thing you ingested was air~!

I had a WooHoo/Holy Cow moment last night after spin class....600 calories in 50 minutes!!! I'm tired but feeling back on track today!

Anyone else do a :eek: at the previews for next week's BL episode?? I hadn't heard ANYTHING about it! Can't wait to see.
ABSOLUTELY!!! I really need to know what happened here????

Well.... it was an internal woohoo, but when my 20 year old nephew noticed my new dress on Sunday and commented that "Auntie has great some curves!" I was pretty happy!:rotfl: ...................P

Not only Woo Hoo, but also Ohhh La La :rotfl:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My wagon is doing better.....slowly rolling along. Great spin class Monday and Tuesday and maybe a 5K tonight to mix it up. I'm heading back to WW on Saturday to weigh in and see how much damage I caused. How can I move forward when I don't know where I am starting from! :thumbsup2
I signed up for a 1 mile fun walk/dog walk with my friend Christine. Christine rescued 3 greyhounds and one just passed away 2 weeks ago. We are doing the walk in his honor with the 2 remaining dogs....so sad but it was an honor for her to ask me to join her :)
Hugs to all who are struggling and I miss all who have seemed to drop form the boards....
Happy Hump Day!!
OK my woohoo moment for Wednesday is that fact that I haven't killed my kids yet. How many more days until they go back to school????
Good afternoon everyone!
So much schoolwork and other things going on, I am quite stressed. I am reading everyone's post, just don't have time to respond!
However here is a :hug: for those who need it, a :woohoo: for those that are doing so well!
QOTD: This weeks woohoo moment came last night, I had to attend a concert and didn't anticipate getting home until around 9. Actually didnt' get home until 9:30 and by the time I got everything at home sorted it was 10. My back was already sore from boxing the day before and I just wanted to go to bed. But I forced myself into workout and kicked level 2 of the 30DS's butt. I was surprised at how well I did despite being tired, I guess it's all in the mind!
Well, off to get more work done!
Congratulations to all our WINners and participants and especially to jujubee727! You all deserve a big woo hoo! :woohoo:
I did it. Hooooly wow, I signed up for the half marathon. I am actually going to do this.
Fabulous! :donald: I'll see you there!
I give up on trying to catch up! I was trying but there is no way I will be able to.
Yep, start here and call yourself caught up! ::yes::
Jess, every day is a fresh start! :thumbsup2
Dona, glad that you are enjoying your break! :sunny:
Today it's WOO HOO WEDNESDAY!
My woo hoo is that I ran outside for the first time since the Tinker Bell and didn't slow down much at all! :woohoo:
Well.... it was an internal woohoo, but when my 20 year old nephew noticed my new dress on Sunday and commented that "Auntie has great some curves!" I was pretty happy!:rotfl: ...................P
That is a a great woo hoo, Pamela! :cool2:
Linda, woo hoo for loose clothes and hope you are feeling better soon! :flower3:
Did my C25K workout and lived to tell the tale WOOHOO!:rotfl:
Woo hoo! :woohoo:
Lisa, aside from both of us being born on the best day of the year, I knew I liked your taste in running shoes ;)
:lmao: Yep, the bugs were safe yesterday!
Woo hoo on your spin class -- that was a great burn! :woohoo:
OK my woohoo moment for Wednesday is that fact that I haven't killed my kids yet. How many more days until they go back to school????
No mayhem always warrants a big woo hoo for sure! :woohoo: :rotfl2:
::Snow_White::; sorry for the stressful day but a big, big woo hoo for getting that workout in! :woohoo:
Thanks for sharing all the woo hoos and have a great evening!
QOTD: My woohoo moment was today. I went on my son's field trip, which was a 2 hour hike through a canyon. Our group finished a good 20 minutes ahead of the others because a few moms in the other group needed to stop and rest. It feels good to be able to keep up with the kids, I definitely would have been struggling 5 years ago!
Hi everyone, I have been weighing in and following along, but have been pretty lazy about sending in my weight and replying on this thread. I've been struggling with my motivation since completing the Tink, my first half. I think I just need to put another race on the calendar, that always helps! Our family might move in a couple of months, everything is uncertain and I am letting this stress interfere with my life too much, I need to let it go and focus on everything else that needs to get done.
I'm seeing so many first time runners doing great things here, a big :cool1: :banana: to all of you! I enjoy hearing all about your training efforts. For those of you doing a Disney race, I definitely recommend checking out the threads and TRs of that particular race. Those reports helped keep me motivated and I learned a little more about what to expect. I hope to go to marathon weekend, either that or the Tink again, but I have to wait until this moving thing sorts itself out before I'll know.
LisaH Thanks so much for coaching this week, I love your lists!
Gretchen I have really enjoyed reading your blog, but I understand the need to go private. I will send you an email.
Buffy :cool1: on wanting to do marathon weekend, are you still deciding between the half and the full?
I hope to catch up with the rest of you, have a wonderful evening!
Ok i started to try and read and catch up but i am literally SO TIRED and i still have one more homework assignment to finish before i'm home free.
Today was kind of a stressful day. Not only are we gearing up towards the end of the semester but its also registration time! I register tomorrow and my mom tells me last night that she forgot to file my financial aid!!! :headache::headache: I started freaking out, because basically if you don't register for the class you want, the minute you can, you run a huge risk of it being filled. About ten minutes after i found that out, i realized i couldn't fidn my pin number that i need to register!
So today i went to financial aid and go that taken care of (I dont have to pay till july!) and ran around trying to find my advisor, who seemed to be missing. I then went to the history department itself and they woulnd't give me my pin which was ridiculous! Finally i asked one of professors (who happens to be my favorite) and he under stood completely what a bad situation i was in! So needless to say i now have my pin and feel a lot better!!
I had my job interview for the children's musuem and i'm a little iffy about a few things. One major thing is that i need a certian number of hours each week, but i guess the amount of hours you get is based on your availability, but they don't garuntee you anything. Well if i'm going to tell my other job that i can only work one day a week to clear up my schedule for the other job i need some sort of stability. Also, from what i understood, if you need time off you need to find someone to cover and there is no garuntee you will get that time off. That just won't work for me. i have disney in a month, and the wedding in september. Perhaps i misunderstood her, but if i do get a call back I'm going to need to bring up these two issues. Does anyone else think this is a strange way of doing things? Maybe i'm just too used to Petsmart where i can get away with almost anything (not in a bad way, but you know what i mean)
I went to the gym today to sign up for my personal training. I thought i would have more time to work out this week but i'm just so exhausted. i'm hoping to have a relaxing weekend! Eating has been so so, usually start my days off good and then end awful...anyone else have that problem?
I also had A LOT of caffiene today because i could barely stay awake this morning. that could be why im so tired now!
I better go get this one last assignment done so i can actually relax tonight. Tomorrow I have school and then two hours to do homework before i have a Praxis review, and then I think i need to get some chores done. If I get that done, all i really have to do this weekend is study for my spanish test....it would be a much needed break! :yay:
My whoo-hoo moment is keeping to my workout schedule even though I've been so busy with my mom. Without all of you BLs, I would''ve just tossed my eating and exercise out the window and spiraled downhill. But, thanks to the accountability, I am still on track!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Sorry I don't have time to reply to everyone tonight. DH wants to watch a movie, so I am going to go hang out with him and hope not to fall sleep 10 minutes in. :rotfl: I'll check in tomorrow,though :)
