Biggest Loser Alumni Holiday Edition: past, present and future participants welcome!

Don't worry about Monday.... we will be just fine. Pop on in the morning (or whenever you can get here) to say HI and post a QOTD and then don't worry about us if you can't get back on. I'm sure it will be quiet.

I had a big surprise in the form of an IPAD!!

Thanks for the support! I'm going to try to get on as much as I can, but with 17-24 people hanging out and eating, it may be tough!

So jealous of the Ipad! I wish I got one! DS5 asked for one since his Kindergarten class got a grant and have 4. He and DS8 share an Ipod touch that I bought from my nephew and DS5 comes home from school and tells me what aps he needs. It's hilarious! He has learning games and Angry Birds of course! DS8 has hunting games and puzzle games. Enjoy!

Not sure if this is the right place so if it isn't, please let me know.

Hi there! I just wanted to come by and introduce myself since I'm planning on doing the WISH spring challenge when it starts January 1.

My name is Ash, I'm in my early 20's and I've decided that this is the year that I'm finally going to get healthy. And since it's easier to keep on track with someone doing it with you; what better place than here? :goodvibes

I've been over-weight ever since my teens when I had a two year fight with depression and turned to food and junk to make me feel better, ballooning my weight to over 200lbs. (Man, that was hard to admit...) Thankfully I've beat my depression, now it's time to take off the weight. I've already been making changes in my diet, cut out soda entirely, and drinking more water. Plus we're looking into getting a treadmill for us to walk on since our exercise isn't what it should be... :headache:

Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you and looking forward to fitting in some smaller clothes!:cool1:

WELCOME!!

Hello everyone! I was here about this time last year with similar intentions. I never made it all the way through the last spring challenge, but did lose 11 pounds overall.

I have exercised more regularly since then and have managed to keep 10 pounds off, but am ready to lose more! :yay: I would really like to lose another 10 in the next three months.

I started calorie counting (with sparkpeople) the other day, and am looking forward to starting the new challenge and getting to know you all again.

WELCOME BACK!!

Merry Christmas to everyone!! I am posting the QOTD for Monday so I don't forget before we head to next family function lol!

QOTD Monday: During this giving season, did you give a gift or receive a gift that was extra special? What was it, and why was it so special to you or the receiver (if you were the giver)?

Fluff QOTD: Did you watch the Disney Christmas parade today? Did you have a favorite part?

QOTD: We gave DHs grandma/grandpa a calendar we made of our kids. This year was all Disney pictures from our trip at the beginning of the year. Each month is a different theme-Toy Story, Princesses, etc. Some months only have 1 picture and other months have 3. They love the calendars and show them off to everyone they can. It's especially nice for us to see their faces as they look through them. They just smile and grandma says "Oh boy" at every month. Grandma has had a few minor strokes and doesn't talk well, so to see her smile and hear that "Oh boy" makes us feel so lucky to have them in our lives.

Fluff QOTD: We only watched about 45 minutes of the parade, but we DVR'd it, so we will watch it one day this week. I enjoyed Phineas and Ferb, though. And the fact that DS5 calls Justin Bieber, Justin Beaver cracks me up lol. He tries so hard to say Beiber, but beaver comes out everytime!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! I will try to keep up with all the responses.

Jill

Welcome aboard! We are always happy to see new faces. This thread is kind of just for fun. We will start another BL challenge in January. Feel free to get to know us and share more about yourself here until then. If you have any questions just ask.

I remember you! Glad you were able to keep off so much of the weight! Maintaining is so hard. Nice that you found your way back here with us.

Welcome Ash. I'm in the same boat--also kicking the depression but have gained about 15 pounds in the last 3-4 months.

Great to see the regs and congrats Lisah! Looking forward to the spring challenge, just got a new laptop so keeping up with the boards should be easier.
QUOTD: Hope diamond. ;)

Merry Xmas, Susan

Really..? Just the Hope diamond? You don't want much, do you? :laughing: Nice to see you back.

I was very suprised. There were gifts from DH, and all 3 sons. Nick went shopping and got me the Newest Tinkerbell movie, Hunter made me an arrowhead necklace and Colby made me a burlap placemat at school. I have it on my workstation under the pencil holders that the boys have made over the years :goodvibes DH got me Tink pjs as well as a bunch of other things.

I spent the whole day setting up routers, new laptops, adding antivirus software etc. The good news is now Nick has a completely function laptop which he can write papers on (the I key was broke on the old one) Colby has Nick's old one so he can get to his online games and Chris has a new laptop with a screen that is not broken. Everyone here seemed very happy with their gifts and their is nothing to return this year.

Sounds like you enjoyed a good day. Glad everyone liked their gifts. Sweet that the boys made you gifts. I miss those days.

Hi Everyone!

Merry Christmas to all celebrating the holiday!

I only have a few minutes to post, but I wanted to pop in and send my good wishes. I also wanted to answer the QOTDs; I'm really working on doing this everyday.

Dinner last night was very good. We actually had leftover stuffed squid tonight. My GI doctor will love how much pasta I've had. ;)

I wasn't sure at first, but then I read some responses and I understand the question. I guess you could say that being hypothetical is not my thing. :confused3

I'd love a chartered plane to WDW with a full week there with park hopper passes and deluxe dining. We've always been counter service people. I can count on one hand the number of table service restaurants we've eaten at so I really want to try another aspect of Disney. We've also never done a water park, but I'd prefer that in April or May.

Jill: :worship::worship::worship:

I got an iPod nano! I was quite surprised. I really thought the package from amazon was xanatham gum. :rotfl2: (I've been asking for that too and it is so much more expensive at the local health food store.) I did get an amazon.com gift certificate so I'll put that to very good use with some gluten free cooking/baking essentials.

I did get my extremely important package of socks. I seem to have this problem where I wear the pair and find a hole in it the next time I wear them. :confused3

My grandmother gave me a pair of electronic scissors. I think they are for my couponing. :rolleyes1

My sister bought me a waffle maker. She picked it out on Black Friday, so I knew about it, but I love it! It makes waffle sticks, and 4 sticks equals one regular sized waffle. The thing is that it makes up to 6 sticks at once, so I don't have to worry about any spillage. My father is :cloud9: because, while I love to bake, I'm a messy baker. :rolleyes1

Have a great day tomorrow everyone!

Sounds like you got just what you wanted! Pleased to hear you had such a good holiday. Hoped you are feeling ok.

Merry Christmas everyone!

We opened gifts around midnight :laughing:. We then went to bed around 2am and were back up around 9. We had cinnamon rolls for breakfast and ate our Christmas lunch around 1ish. We then lounged around and watched movies. We were watching Santa Clause 3 and both crashed for a few hours. Alan was putting stuff away when he accidently dropped his Blackberry in water! OYE! So, have to deal with that tomorrow.

We didn't go all out on Christmas this year. I got him an IPOD Nano and Season 3 of Sons of Anarchy. He got me a portable hard drive to back up pictures and stuff. He also bought me a Mickey necklace from one of the stores at Hollywood Studios.

I haven't tracked food since before I left for IL (Dec 9th). I've only exercised twice (walked DTD one day and Hollywood Studios the next). Tomorrow I am getting back on track. Luckily, I've not gained any weight this holiday season.

Big oops on the blackberry. Hope he had a warranty. Sounds like you had a relaxing holiday.

Well friends....if this posts successfully it will be my first post with my new IPad. This is such a cool new toy! The kids and I played their new Just Dance 3 ....we recorded it with the IPad....I look like a foolish old lady but it was fun. I told my Mom that watching the video was like a train wreck....it was ugly but you can't look away!:rotfl:

Dd wants to head to the y early tomorrow before we head to the Cape for the day, so at least I will get in a workout! TTYL.........P

Thanks so much for the welcome! I've been reading through the boards, trying to see what I'm getting myself into... ;)

I have to admit, I'm a little nervous. I've tried dieting so many times and failed, but I think that's mostly because I'd try things like going completely cold turkey on something like junk food and I'd do really well...for about a week. Then I'd end up going on a binge and attacking the Little Debbie snacks... So I'm trying for moderation this time around and hoping that works better.

I did pretty good today though; no soda, 1 dessert, and sipping on water right now. I did go to a Chinese buffet today though... I promise I'll be better tomorrow. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! I want to post a hello and say I'm planning on participating in the January challenge. I participated in the fall challenge but only really communicated with Sue for my weigh ins. I hope this time around I can keep up with reading the thread. Also maybe more significant wight loss too! Have a great day!

I hope everyone had a nice holiday! I can't WAIT for the new challenge! My eating has been out of control and a new challenge and setting my sights on a half marathon in May is just what I need to get my big booty in gear!

Our Christmas was lovely and relaxing. We stayed home for the first time in forever. Perfect!

Good morning all! :santa: Hope that everyone had an enjoyable week-end!

Dona, thanks for posting a QOTD yesterday! :goodvibes

jillbur, thanks for coaching today! :flower3:

And speaking of coaching, Janis (buzz5985) is looking for a co-hostess and coaches for the Spring Challenge so if you are interested, please PM her. It takes a village to run a successful challenge! :goodvibes

Question of the Day:Was there any thing special or surprising under the tree ?

Every year DH makes me a calendar of family photos. It started out as pictures of my DS but has branched out in to other family activities over the year as our photo subject gets less cooperative! :rotfl: This year two pages were devoted to the races I did and the December page was of decorations from this season. :santa: We give copies to our Moms and to my sister. It is something we look forward to every year.

Tracey, I hope that Izzie is feeling better today. :flower3: My poor sister was sick on the couch every Christmas for years it seemed. :sad2: Hope the rest of you managed to avoid the bug. It sounds like you are having a wonderful Christmas with your folks.

Merry Christmas everyone, we hope you have a wonderful day!!!

Same to you! :thumbsup2 Congrats to both of you with your successful weight loss in the Fall Challenge! :yay:

Merry Christmas to everyone that celebrates :santa:

Hope that everyone has a wonderful holiday with their families, friends and loved ones :hug:

Same to you, Sue! Did Dylan enjoy himself? :santa:

Gretchen, sounds like a great celebration! :santa: Next stop WDW! :dance3:

Yup.... I finally had to give up on having a totally clean house by about 1pm yesterday. I figured in the long run it was more important to have a bit of time to relax and enjoy my family. DS's room is STILL a disaster, but oh well... he can tackle it next week. The three glasses of wine with dinner certainly helped me overlook the mess!!:laughing:

Good job deciding to relax and enjoy, Pamela! :thumbsup2 I'm sure everyone had a great time and didn't even notice a thing.

Can't wait to hear more about your iPad! :cool2:

In trouble with the smilie police so will BRB to finish replies . . . :teeth:

Back again to finish replies. :thumbsup2

Welcome Ash. I'm in the same boat--also kicking the depression but have gained about 15 pounds in the last 3-4 months.

Great to see the regs and congrats Lisah! Looking forward to the spring challenge, just got a new laptop so keeping up with the boards should be easier.

Same to you, Susan! :flower3: Thanks for the congrats and looking forward to chatting with you again with your snazzy new laptop. :goodvibes

Deb, sounds like your guys were all good to you and you are all wired up now! :cool2:

CC, glad that you had a good time. :santa: Hope that you can get back to eating GF soon. :hug:

Disneywedding2010 sounds like a nice, relaxing Christmas at your house! :santa:

Fluff QOTD: Did you watch the Disney Christmas parade today? Did you have a favorite part?

One of the best "gifts" that we gave each other this year was a more relaxing, toned down holiday. We streamlined everything from gifts to menus to activities and it was declared "the best Christmas ever!" by DS. The XBox probably helped with that feeling, too. :rolleyes1

I did not watch the parade. I figure I can check it out online if I want to. I'm looking forward to seeing Rose's pictures from here trip to WDW this week. :santa:

Baby steps, moderation, goal setting, all things that will help you to adjust to not just a diet but rather a new, healthier lifestyle. You can do it! :goodvibes

Our Christmas was lovely and relaxing. We stayed home for the first time in forever. Perfect!

Glad that you had a great Christmas, Nancy! :santa: A half marathon in May is a great goal -- is it a local one for you? And be kind to yourself, you just had a baby a short month ago. Your body need times to recover! :flower3:

Have a great day all! :santa:

Good Monday morning.

Did everyone survive Christmas? We had a good day. We got home from inlaws about 5. Dh helped me clean up and put all the leftovers away so by 6 the kitchen was cleaned up. Ds's went to the movies and I fell asleep by 7:30. I know I snored last night because I am very congested. I was up at 4 and came down stairs to waatch some tv.

The biggest surprise under the tree was that both my dh and my ds's got me gc's to my favorite quilt shop.

Today is a nothing scheduled day. Ds2 is going to visit his gf and I don't know what ds1 is up to but dh and I have nothing planned.

Hope everyone has a great day. I will check in later.

Have a happy and healthy day.

Fluff QOTD: Did you watch the Disney Christmas parade today? Did you have a favorite part?

Hmmm, nothing special this year except for my necklace. We tried to buy practical stuff this year. One thing they Want, One thing they Need, One thing to wear Wear, One thing to Read. It's our new motto!

Fluff: Drat!!! I knew we forgot to TIVO something!!!

***********************

Had a good Xmas!! Did pretty well with food. I had like 2 tablespoons of mashed potatoes (no gravy), sweet potatoes that I made, 2 small pieces of ham and turkey, loaded up on green beans, and skipped pie and cookies, I had one peppermint patty instead. They had soda but I knew that would be the case so I brought bottled water with me. I did go slightly overboard on mom's stuffed clams though. They were soooo good!! But mostly made with bread and had pats of butter on them. I took the smallest ones there were.

Anyway, back on track today!!!! January 1 I officially start my training for the Princess 1/2 in 2013.

Pamela Yesterday my cousin was asking me why DH was in the picture, but DS15 and I weren't. It took her forever to realize that the tall one was DS15!! He looks so much like DH it's spooky.

Fluff QOTD: Did you watch the Disney Christmas parade today? Did you have a favorite part?

The special gift I gave was the photo album to my mom. It will help her remember the fun we had on our last trip while I'm gone. The gift I'm going to receive is from my grandma. She normally doesn't buy presents for her grandchildren once they turn 18, but she wanted to buy something for me this year. My mom told her to get me new flip flops from Old Navy, but they couldn't find them. When I mentioned yesterday that you could get them online, we ordered three pair (on sale for super cheap!) so they should be here soon.

No. I actually don't really like the Christmas Parade. :scared1: I find the hosts to be obnoxious and forced happy, especially Kelly Ripa. I used to watch it just to see the sights around the park, but I've been enough times now that I don't need to do that anymore.

QOTD I never watch the parade. I am always busy getting ready for Christmas dinner so I have never had time to relax and watch the parade.

Good Morning. I'm using our very old desk top because my laptop doesn't seem to want to work. I guess it must be jeolous that everyone else in the house has a newer one :lmao:

I think the most appreciated gift this year was the posters that we had made of Chris' Street rod. Colby and Hunter gave them to DH and my mother gave him frames. He was so happy. I also had different size and type photo mugs made with the photo.

We did watch the parade. We enjoyed seeing both parks. We could live without the guest entertainers and all the Disney advertising, but it was nice anyway :goodvibes

I'm working on laundering all the new clothes that the boys got and trying to get things put away. I need to run our for a few things later, but I'm not rushing at this point. Colby is playing Disney Universe. It looks like a cool game :thumbsup2

Just Dance sounds like a good time. I love games where the whole family can play (and have a pretty good laugh). We rented the Michael Jackson Experience game for the Wii and DH and I took over. DSs were rolling their eyes as I walked around the house for the next few days dancing to Beat It lol. Santa bought DS5 Just Dance Kids 2, so we'll have to bust that out this week...but I am NOT recording it!! Glad you're enjoying the Ipad. And good for you for working out this morning~I'll be eating my 3rd Christmas dinner!

The fall challenge was my first challenge and I was nervous at first, but I just jumped in and checked the thread daily to help me keep on track. Other people's accomplishments can be so motivating. And, it's also nice to see that others struggle just like you (well, me lol).

I hope everyone had a nice holiday! I can't WAIT for the new challenge! My eating has been out of control and a new challenge and setting my sights on a half marathon in May is just what I need to get my big booty in gear!

I could've written this...well, except the half maraton part. Replace that with a 5k or 5 miler and I could've written it lol.

That relaxing holiday sounds heavenly! And, I'm sure the Xbox was the best present ever!

Good Monday morning.

The biggest surprise under the tree was that both my dh and my ds's got me gc's to my favorite quilt shop.

What a nice surprise!

Hmmm, nothing special this year except for my necklace. We tried to buy practical stuff this year. One thing they Want, One thing they Need, One thing to wear Wear, One thing to Read. It's our new motto!

January 1 I officially start my training for the Princess 1/2 in 2013.

The necklace sounds beautiful! And, I love this concept of Christmas! I might have to come up with something similar. Ahhhh...the Princess half...good luck with training!

I'm sure your mom will be looking at that photo album all the time while your gone! What a great gift!

I have to say, I am not a fan of the hosts of the parade either. Kelly Ripa wasn't in it this year. It was Mario Lopez, Maria Menounos, and Nick Cannon. I really could've done without Nick Cannon. But I also DVR'd it so we fast forwarded through the talking lol.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, I went to 4 different stores this morning for some sale items. I bought a 3 foot white fiber optic tree and mini Disney ornaments for it. I told DH I would have a Disney tree next year! I'm going to put it in the dining room. I've got both boys showered, a load of laundry done, and the dishwasher loaded waiting to be run. DSs helped clean up the disaster from yesterday when they had to open every present. It's now all neatly under the tree. Now all I have to do is wake up DH (worked last night) so he can get ready to go to Christmas #3 with his mom's side of the family.
I hope everyone is finding time to relax. After today, we have no plans this week except for me on Thursday. It will be nice just to relax at home and hopefully get DH working on that honey-do list I made :lmao: A girl can dream!!
Enjoy your Monday and I hope to be on at some point throughout the day! Sorry for my absence!
Jill
Yahoo! I am back and writing this from my new iPad!! I hope Pamela
Has more techno knowledge than I do! Ds1 helped me figure out how to turn the thing on and get some things set up, but I have a ton more to learn. I can tell I am gonna love it, though.
Have just been crazy busy and we made a mad dash across the mountains to see family. Usually we don't see them from November to march so that was super special. Love those grand nephews and grand nieces. Soo adorable! Got home Christmas eve afternoon. Didn't have time to do all I wanted before 8pm church so wrapped until 1 am. Ugh but now everything is done and over and I am about to start laundry!
Got my walk in this morning and hope to get a run in after a bit. Eating has been all right but certainly not stellar, as I'm sure the scale would show, but I am not so foolish as to actually step on it!
Good job to all the biggest losers and especially lisa!!
Aloha - I just wanted to say that I am really looking forward to the January challenge. I had joined the Fall challenge, but I did not do well. I'm hoping to be more successful this time around.
Christmas was crazy! DD13 danced hula during the half time show at the Sheraton Bowl on Christmas Eve. There were almost 500 dancers from all over the island and it was beautiful. We were so tired from the long day and we had a very nice, relaxing Christmas Day.
Looking forward to our next challenge!
Hello Everyone! It was a crazy couple of days and I didn't even have a chance to really check in. We had a really nice Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but I am ready for a week where I am not entertaining all the time.
DH and I were able to get out for a run on Christmas Eve. We ran 3.7 miles and then walked .8. I will admit it was a really hard run for me. We haven't been running all that much but are working at getting into it again. We did not run yesterday but I am thinking a short run tonight before supper would be good as well.
Today we did some shopping at the Mall of America (it is only about 20 minutes from our house). Found some good sales for the kids and it was not all the busy. I really wanted to find some running clothes but wasn't willing to spend that much money. We did stop at our favorite running store on the way home and I did buy some new running shoes because the pair that I am wearing is totally dead. Tonight I would like to do some more web surfing to see if I can find some running gear that I am willing to spend the money on.
I am looking forward to the next BL challenge. Two years ago I joined in for several in a row and was so successful. I have not been participating for a while and have decided that it is time to get back to what I know works. I am watching what I eat right now but know it is too much. I know that I need to get back on track with a regular exercise plan and hope that getting back into running will help as well. While I am not totally abandoning all healthy habits right now, I also know that realistically....this holiday week is not the week for me to totally get at it all again. I guess I will be one of those New Year's resolution people again. I did it very successfully 2 years ago and know that I can do it again.
QOTD Monday: During this giving season, did you give a gift or receive a gift that was extra special? What was it, and why was it so special to you or the receiver (if you were the giver)?
Fluff QOTD: Did you watch the Disney Christmas parade today? Did you have a favorite part?
QOTD: I don't know if I really gave anything that was extra special or really got anything that was extra special this year. I would say that both the gift giving and receiving was nice...but it was just one of those years.
Fluff QOTD: We did not watch the parade this year. Normally we do but this year we missed it.
Alright, time to do some other computer work and then maybe go for a run! Happy Monday everyone!
Jen
Hello friends! Sorry I have not taken the time to check in for a few days.
Hope everyone is having a nice holiday. I got my dream gift of 2 kitties for Christmas !!! They are brother/sister and black and white "tuxedo" kitties.
They are currently named "Hermione" and "Norbert" but we plan to change their names to Luna and Klauss. We visited them Friday at their foster home and they should come home to live with us in about 2 weeks. They will be neutered/spayed and microchipped at the SPCA before we get them. I hope to not have them de-clawed like I did with my last cat. I always regretted that after I had it done. But I am not sure; I've never lived with a cat with claws; will they tear up the house ???
I forgot to watch the Disney Parade, waaaaaah! We went out to watch War Horse on Christmas Day. I thought it was just OK, way too long for me and a little too contrived and sappy but not completely horrible. It didn't help that some loud nitwit behind me talked through the whole movie....comments like "Oh, he can't jump"....."Oh, that's France", on and on and on. I gave him the stink eye twice but it didn't help. (I'm too POLITE to actually say something, ha ha)
After my Mom's Christmas Eve party, we opened presents Cmas morning, went to the movie and then went to my in-laws where they did the usual showering us with gifts that we mostly can not use (Ugh, I hate that they waste their money on us but I think they get such pleasure from it).
This morning my FIL had an Xray appt to check out some back pain he had been having for 6 weeks. They found an 8 centimeter stomach aneurysm and he was taken by ambulance to the hospital. Surgery will be tmrw or Weds, it will be the kind where you put a stent in through the leg to bypass the mass. I left DH up there to help out and DS and I came home. I feel so bad for DH; he may not be able to come home until Friday, his whole week off of work will be "wasted" but what can you do?
Looking forward to reading back to see how everyone is doing. I am WAY up on my weight:scared1: and eating is out of control. Need to start reigning things in NOW instead of LATER!!!
Have a great evening all!
I'll start with the parade. I have never watched it! Don't evict me for that either. ;)
I don't think I gave anything extra special this year. I spent a lot of time working on our stockings and ended up doing very well. My sister and BIL got A LOT and were very happy. My mom couldn't understand why I gave her a ruler, but she's always asking for one. :confused3 My dad a lot of Tylenol-like products. He thought he was sick, but they were travel-sized and he flies multiple times a year and refuses to check luggage. :confused3
Despite a few confusing gifts (that made perfectly logical sense to me ;)), they were very appreciative of my six months of hard work. I ended up buying at least $200 worth of stuff for just under $20. :rolleyes1
The electric scissors from my grandmother were special. She really thought about me and my love of couponing when she gave it to me. (I'm pretty sure it's a regift too.) Unfortunately, I couldn't cut straight with them so they ended up being a dud, but a sentimental dud.
My aunt gave me something from Bath & Body Works and it does not contain wheat, oats, or nuts. I can eat nuts, but I don't like using products with any in them. She claims she didn't check the ingredients, but she works in an allergist's office, so I just thanked her and smiled with happiness. My cousin gave me a package of those balls that turn into bath soap (or something like that), but I tried using 2 this morning when I took a bath and all they did was leave a residue on my body. But, no allergens, so again happiness.
It seems like such a little thing, but it really isn't. It was really hard to tell my to give my jar of Chex Mix to my grandfather because it has oats in it. She wanted to give the 5 of us 3 jars. It also has peanuts in it and really only my father likes peanuts and my grandfather can no longer eat peanuts. A lengthy discussion ensued and guess which family has 3 jars of Chex Mix sitting under its Christmas tree? :rolleyes1 Oh well.
Have a great day tomorrow everyone!
Catching up on a few day's worth of QOTD - I had decided to take a few days off from the Internet. ;)
Did you ask Santa for anything health or fitness related for Christmas or did you buy anything health or fitness related for someone else that will join you on your weight loss/fitness journey? It so what was it
At the tail-end of the Fall Challenge I purchased an eliptical machine for myself. I'm still horribly out of shape, but I've worked up to being able to stay on it for 15 minutes at a shot.
If you woke up today and it was time to open one present, what would you want it to be? Not peace on earth, not a husband that does the dishes, something you can hold in your hands, ride, drive, or see. What tangible present would make you squeal with delight today?
A new washer and dryer.
My current washing machine is so old and in such bad shape it isn't worth fixing. I currently can only wash very small loads and have to run the spin cycle two extra time for each load.
The dryer is equally ancient and the door is broken - won't stay closed. I have an elaborate system to keep the door closed which includes a broomstick and a REALLY heavy chair. :scared1:
Was there any thing special or surprising under the tree?
My nephew isn't big on Christmas shopping. Usually he makes his mother (my sister) buy things and puts his name on the tag. This year he asked her to drop him off at the mall for a few hours and he bought presents for everybody that he picked out and paid for.
Considering his is a 15 year old boy, he did a really good job at picking gifts that suited the giftee. He got me a book celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the NY Mets.
On the weight-loss front - today when I went to post a response on the Community Board, I got a message that my weight-loss ticker had expired since it hadn't changed in x-amount of time. I guess that is the Internet's way to tell me to get my butt in gear and get back to tracking and moving. :rotfl2:
