Biggest Loser Alumni Holiday Edition: past, present and future participants welcome!

Hi, I'm Nicole, age 29, married with one kid too! Mine is a 3yo daughter. :)

Hi Nicole!

Leaving Santa's magic foot prints on the living room carpet (did this for the first time last year and the kids went crazy in the morning.)

I love your traditions! I might have to borrow a few, this one in particular :thumbsup2

This has been the longest day! I'm exhausted and my throat is sore!

You make me tired just reading your posts :rotfl: I'm glad one of us is getting some things done this week :worship:

we are so enjoying being home. I have my scale out and in position so I can weigh every morning while I'm at my Mom's house. In addition to weighing every day, I've been drinking LOTS of water. We have eaten some of our favorites but tried to eat in moderation, for example ate a cheeseburger for lunch yesterday with lots of water but no fries and then had salad for dinner. I'm sticking with this approach until I get back home:

I went to HH tonight with a friend and FINALLY someone commented on my weight loss. No one in my family said anything!

Great plan Shawn! Keep it up, I'm sure you will do great!

I get so bummed when no one notices my weight loss too. I haven't lost a whole lot, but I think I've lost enough for others to notice. The last time we were home no one mentioned it but my brother. My brother isn't one to mention nor really take any notice to things like that, so when he said it, it really made up for no one else mentioning it  I think they notice, but I'm sure your mother was so wrapped up in the excitement that you were home that it kind of took a backseat to all the other things she wanted to tell you ;)

It doesn't matter if you're decorating, eating or just sharing space, being together for just one more second, minute, day... That is what matters everything else is just a bonus.

Thank you for putting it in that perspective  Sometimes we all get a little caught up in the season to really take the time to focus on the things that REALLY matter. Thanks for the reminder, I appreciate it! :thumbsup2

Also splurged on an eggnog latte at Starbucks, but since I am obsessed with coffee :surfweb: and have to drive an hour to get to a Starbucks, I figure 2 or 3 a year are okay.:lmao: I need to be really focused the next couple of days, though, or I'm going to end up with a big fat gain that I don't want to have to work off!

 I think splurging on a Starbucks drink seems reasonable, especially since you would have to drive an hour to get to one! I'm sure you'll do great the next couple of days staying focused! Keep up the good work :cheer2:

Our family had rules like:

The Parking Lot Rule: Small children can't set foot of the sidewalk into a parking lot with holding an adults hand. (My son thought it wasn't physically possible and wouldn't even try).

The Shorts Rule: Shorts can't be worn between Oct 15 and March 15. Before and after these dates, my daughter had to check the weather channel and see if the temp was 40 degrees or higher and not predicted to be lower than that during the day. (Kept her from asking me everyday).

These are awesome! And welcome :goodvibes :)

Cupcake - I'm glad you finally got your ring back! :woohoo: You'll get used to, so much so that you'll panic that you've lost it when it's not on your finger, like me :rotfl2:

Yesterday was a good day, got all my water in, ran my 36 minutes PLUS I did an hour of Zumba! I'm positive I over-did it because I ended up with a splitting headache last night....come to think of it, every time I post to this board it seems like I'm always typing that I over-did something or another maybe I need to take a hint :rotfl:....so with that being said I'm going to take an unscheduled day off to recover. I'm leaving work today at 11:30 to go Christmas shopping with my sis who made it home last Saturday, so I'll get plenty of walking in. We're also having lunch at Subway before we go (thank goodness that girl LOVES Subway so it keeps me on track :) ) and we're having turkey hot dogs for dinner. I'll really need to focus on my water today, b/c being out and about I'll get a weakness for a Sonic Happy Hour coke, which I strictly limit myself to on the weekends only.

Also, I'm very worried about next week's exercising. Our student rec center will be closed all week and I'm concerned that without it being open, I'll end up being lazy and skipping my runs :sad2: Maybe the fact that I'm concerned will be enough to motivate me and keep me disciplined :confused3 I'm almost considering doing a trial week at a local gym just to keep me focused. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Have a great day everyone!

Nicole

QOTD 12/21: Describe your favorite holiday decoration and why it is special to you.

I guess it would be the little red rocking chair that my dad gave to my daughter for Christmas when she was 1. We still put it by the tree with Mickey and Minnie.

Hi, I'm here, I've just had a cold the past few days. Originally my goal for the next two weeks before the next challenge was to lose a pound or two, but since I've been sick, I'm just hoping to maintain. I'm actually already down for the week, which will help when Christmas comes this weekend! I hope everyone is doing well and not stressing too much getting ready for the holidays.

Hi everyone. Work is so empty today. Most people took the entire week off, so its nice and quiet. The sheet set that I mentioned that my mom got me for Christmas were awesome. I have never had such a warm snugly bed. I was actually hot and didn’t have to have the heater on.

Here’s an update on the venue hunt. One of my DF’s bosses owns a restaurant/night club. It was just built a few months ago and is really nice, classy, and contemporary. It can accommodate about 600 people. It has vaulted ceilings with the exposed wood beams. Well his boss mentioned to him that we can use the venue for super cheap and they can cater it as well, only charging us what it would cost them to buy and cook the food. We would have to bring in are all the tables, chairs, linens, flowers, etc. They already have the bar stocked with liquor, and the only thing is that we leave it as a cash bar so they can make a little money. In terms of savings, we would be saving thousands. We could invite EVERYONE and not worry about leaving people out. My only con about it is that it doesn’t have that memorable feel to me. Like Disney would be unforgettable, even the art deco train station would be pretty memorable. So I am contemplating on whether I am settling if I choose that venue and will regret it later. We would save a ton of money which we can use to have a spectacular honeymoon OR we can have an unforgettable wedding venue but not a honeymoon.

Tracey- Hope you feel better fast.

Taryn- A vacuum and a mop for Sophie! :rotfl:Hilarious. You have two great girls. I think your justification for Starbucks is good. Cant believe you live that far from a Starbucks. I remember at one time, they were literally at every corner.

SunnyB1066- Youre getting a great head start being here. Love all your rules. They make sense to me :goodvibes

Lisa- Thanks! Dr. Cupcake is exactly what my family jokes around and calls me sometimes.

KristiMc- Congratulations on being the biggest loser!! How do you like the new WW program?

Pudge the fish- Welcome!

Nicole (mizzoutigger)- I think your plan on getting the trail membership for the mean time is a great idea. I think you can print them out from online. Do you have zumba dvds that you can do at home?

Lisa (liesel)- Sorry youre not feeling so well. You may even end up with the loss you wanted.

Hi guys. I just wanted to update the group about my knee. I just got home from the dr appointment. They found a stress fracture, a torn meniscus, torn cartiledge and LOTS of arthritis. He gave me something for the arthritis. Since it has been feeling better (not great but better) he doesn't want to do anything. I have an appointment for a month from now. I did get through yesterday and today without any medication. It did bother me last night but with the heating pad and tylenol I made it through the night.

Off to have dinner. I want to do somethings tonight but we shall see.

I had a pretty amazing day! I gave two massages and got one myself. Not sure how I felt about it. I didn't realize how tight my back is! The therapist actually suggested that I see a chiropractor. She also said I seemed to be bulking up from using my weights. I haven't used them much lately, mainly just using the arms on the elliptical. I need to make it a point to get a massage more often.

I had two clients this morning. The first one was a new client and the other was my regular! My regular client gave me a Christmas card with an amazing Christmas tip! I was in shock! It felt great to be appreciated though. And hopefully tomorrow I will come home from the wellness center tomorrow night with the win!

I'm feeling better tonight. I fixed DH and myself a meatball pizza and we had diet Sprite and Mango Rum!

We had to run out after school to pick up gift cards for DD1s teacher. She had to move the class party up to tomorrow as her grandmother died last night and her funeral is on Thursday. Tomorrow I have to get gift cards for the bus driver and my co-workers and hopefully find the peppermint mocha kahlua. I also need to finish wrapping presents. DD2 has a friend coming over in the afternoon so I will have some time to get stuff done while they are playing.

We're finally watching the rest of Survivor from Sunday night. Probably not getting anything else done tonight as I'm exhausted. I'm also sneezing my head off!

TTFN :tigger:

I slept better last night as far as nightmares go, but I was awake for at least 30 minutes sometime around 2 AM. I was still early for work, but wasn't feeling breakfast. I really need to figure the breakfast thing out. I've tried all sorts of things for snack during 9:30 break. I don't know. Maybe I should try to figure out a way to bring in my oatmeal breakfast and eat it then. I could eat a banana before I leave the house. :confused3 I'll keep trying things out. Work has been busy, but not too busy. Just the way I like it-keeps me on my toes, but not in need of caffeine. I'm rambling here.

Tracey: I'm getting my first table massage next week. Any advice? TIA! :)

Nicole: Love the trial membership idea! :cool1: The gym I go to is $10 a month plus tax. You don't happen to have something similar? Free is better though!

Taryn: So jealous of your splurge at Starbucks. That was one in control splurge. :thumbsup2 I won't tell you what happened with me and the 14 dozen cookies my co-worker brought in today. :rolleyes1

Well, today was a mixed day. I don't want to go into too many details, but basically, I feel like I'm being forced to do something. It's definitely legal, but it's one of those things that is better when it's your choice. Kind of like playing sports in high school versus t-ball or Y soccer. I'm being so passive about it and not telling anyone how I feel outside of all of you. I am constantly telling the kid I informally tutor that she needs to advocate for herself. Yep, I'm a hypocrite and venting and rambling and...;)

If you made it through all that mumble I thank you. With the exception of this, everything is good. Except that it's eating away at me and I'm stress eating. And rambling again.

Okay. I'm going to try to fall asleep. It wouldn't be unlike me to wake up on the right side of the bed tomorrow morning. :goodvibes

QOTD: I know you will understand this. I really am not into decorating and am okay with a pretty pathetically decorated house for Christmas. But, my grandparents' house better be decorated. My grandfather always puts old-fashioned lights on the tree (okay, maybe they are 30 years old, but I'm 26, so they are old to me :rotfl2:) and their Nativity needs to be up. That does at my house too.

CC- Drink a lot of water after the massage. If you are sore after take motrin. It's not uncommon especially if it's your first massage.

Just spent the last hour sleeping on the couch. My cold is feeling worse tonight but I've got things that must get done tomorrow. I should probably go to bed so I will hopefully feel somewhat better in the morning. I'm sweating right now which is a good thing I think. DH put the kids to bed.

TTFN :tigger:

Jumping in here. New to the whole BL thing. Just joined my first challenge. I'm hoping to be a loser, but I may have to be content with being a maintainer. I live with no adrenal glands after battling Cushing's Disease and take steroids every day to compensate for what my body no longer makes. It's pretty complicated. I put on over close to 80 pounds with the Cushing's and really want to take that off. It's coming off very slowly.... sigh. My goal is to try and work in at least 45 minutes of exercise every day.

Good morning everyone and a big welcome to all our new losers!!!:cool1:
We're going to have a great spring challenge!!!

QOTD 12/21: Describe your favorite holiday decoration and why it is special to you.
I have a beautiful santa claus that was my mothers. He's about 20 inches tall, with a beautiful porcelain face and velvet coat down to his boots thats adorned with gold thread and gems and carries his pack with gold wrapped presents and a christmas tree over his shoulder. The girls of our family used to take a day to shop in boston every december, and my mom bought it there. She fell in love with it, and it was 400$ and she kept debating getting a less expensive one, and then going back to this santa, and I remember helping to talk her into the one she loved since it was her money, and she should do what she wants to do with it. It reminds me of my mom every time I look at it and remember so many good memories. She always wanted me to go shopping with her when she needed something big because she knew I was a good shopper and wouldn't try to convince her to get something cheaper like my brothers would have. I think she even lied to my brothers about the price of santa which was funny.

Cupcaker- sending pixie dust your way for smooth wedding plans. the less expensive venue sounds like a great price, and is there a way you could include a disney theme to it so you could have a disney wedding and a honeymoon too?

Dona:hug: Hope the knee is feeling better with the meds and glad you don't need surgery right now. It's amazing you can have so much going on with one knee. Hang in there.

CC-Good luck with all you have going on. And just so you know, you're not alone eating the Christmas cookies.:rolleyes1

Wish I had more time this morning for more replies. I'm going to go out and run/walk after michael gets on the bus. We had a little snow, but the roads seem pretty clear, so I'll be careful. I'm very nervous about slipping on the ice. After I'll go pick up my new glasses, and i'm going to join ww again and go to a meeting. I got the day off, so I'll finish cleaning and wrapping too. That's my goal. No goofing off today.

:grouphug: Hugs to those in need and I hope you all have a great day.

Taryn- I have a Neti pot but now that I'm sitting up it's getting better!
Glad sitting up helps. Doesn't do much for bedtime, though.

Good Morning! I'm using this thread as practice. The Parking Lot Rule: The Shorts Rule: Shorts can't be worn between Oct 15 and March 15. 3.) If my kids find out what one of there presents are, I take them back. When Thomas and I got first got married, we had Thanksgiving 4 times in one day.
I love your rules. You wouldn't look at me crazy like some people do. I have a parking lot rule that if you are under 7, you hug my leg if I am unlocking the car, etc.I've gotten weird looks on that one, but it works. I may have to institute a flip flops rule, since my "tween" likes to live in hers, but I figure she's old enough now to figure it out. I'm really into natural consequences and believe life is the best teacher, unless death or serious injury is involved. I've been known to seriously understimate the injury part though, we stay on our 11 yr. old to pick up her stuff, decided last night to just let the puppy chew it and see what happened, she left her uggs at the bottom of the steps, tripped, and sprained her ankle. :scared1: Love the presents rule! And I am sure you felt STUFFED that Thanksgiving. My MIL gave up on us being there for Thanksgiving after she cooked all day a few times and we didn't eat dinner b/c we were full from lunch. I wasn't budging on lunch at my mom's b/c that is the only holiday that my brother and his family comes for, they go to his MIL for Christmas day.

QOTD 12/21: Describe your favorite holiday decoration and why it is special to you.
Holy Cow! :rotfl: And you get to go on a little vacation for New Year's -- that is almost as good -- plus you don't have to deal with the logistics of hauling your presents around. I still have some coaching spots open if anyone is interested.:santa:
I should have qualified that statement that I would love to be at WDW on Christmas! I can't wait to get to HHI, we were singing their campfire songs last night at dinner! If you have any spots between now and the 29th, I'll take one. We leave on the 30th, won't be back until the 2nd.

QOTD: YIKES! I can't choose just one (as usual). The dated ornament my Daddy gave me for Christmas 3 days before my wedding of a little girl and her daddy decorating the tree to symbolize my last Christmas at home, the set of "old timey" ornaments he gave me, my Mickey ornaments from our first trip, Elf on the Shelf, and a Santa figurine bowing in front of the manger. PLUS all of my girl's ornaments. Think I've shared this before, but each year we do some sort of picture ornament and they get a special ornament to symbolize something from the year. This year, Sophie got a Tiana and AK got a Tinkerbell at the Eiffel Tower, she was obsessed with France this summer and that was her goal at WDW to see the replica. We surprised her with dinner at Chefs, after which she decided she liked the architecture of France better than the cuisine.

I am going to join in on the alumni thread and try to be better about chatting :)
CONGRATULATIONS BIGGEST LOSER!!!!!!!!!:worship:

I am also going to join in so I can get used to chatting, posting more etc..
Welcome! You'll have a head start, because coming here will be part of your routine. If I can't have my BL and coffee first thing in the am, my day is OFF!:surfweb:

QOTD: I have a Tigger ornament DH gave me several years ago. We also have a Mickey crystal ornament that DMIL gave us the year before she died. We also have a set of 12 ornaments that we got as a wedding shower gift.
They sound really special!

My brother isn't one to mention nor really take any notice to things like that, so when he said it, it really made up for no one else mentioning it  Yesterday was a good day, got all my water in, ran my 36 minutes PLUS I did an hour of Zumba! Also, I'm very worried about next week's exercising.
When my brothers comment, you know something's up! They were teens when I was born, and we tease each other relentlessly, usually with comments about looking like a monkey. Not sure how that started. Anyway, One of my brothers said at Halloween, "I saw you in Lowes yesterday." "No you didn't, I didn't go." "Yes I did, there was a skeleton, and I told Gina it looked just like you do now, skin and bones". Best compliment EVER!!!! Be careful and don't keep overdoing it! Motivation is a good thing, but just remember you want to be able to do this for a lloooonnnggg time! AS for working out next week, can you do something at home? (You tube zumbas or something?) Do you always run on a treadmill? I'm guessing it might be warm enough there for you to get in a few outside runs. Be a good time to try it out!

I guess it would be the little red rocking chair that my dad gave to my daughter for Christmas when she was 1. We still put it by the tree with Mickey and Minnie.
So sweet!!!

Hi, I'm here, I've just had a cold the past few days. .
Wondered where you were! Hoping you feel better VERY soon! Sounds like you are on a roll, hate that sickness played a part in it! And have I ever told you that I wanted to name Anna Kathryn Liesel? Yes, I am fairly obsessed with Sound of Music! DH said people would call her Liesel the Weasel. We had the hardest time with names for our girls, I would say "No, I taught a kid with that name or so and so has a kid named that", and DH would come up with hideous nicknames for each!

So I am contemplating on whether I am settling if I choose that venue and will regret it later. We would save a ton of money which we can use to have a spectacular honeymoon OR we can have an unforgettable wedding venue but not a honeymoon. Taryn- A vacuum and a mop for Sophie! :rotfl:Hilarious. You have two great girls. I think your justification for Starbucks is good. Cant believe you live that far from a Starbucks. I remember at one time, they were literally at every corner.
She told Santa last year she wanted a vacuum, a mop, a broom, and a brush! My girls get stuff in their heads, one year AK wanted a princess robe. Just to help you out. Did you ever see the show Waltons? That was filmed not far from where I live, as was Dirty Dancing. We have 2 stoplights. Until 1 was in college, the only stoplight in my town was on the track around the football field, which also served as our driving range! As for the wedding stuff, here are my 2 cents, which you can take or leave, but ultimately the decision is yours. I think the venue sounds cool, and having your family there would mean a lot. It might not be the "themed" venue, etc, but all the other touches you have for the day would make it memorable. It sounds like it has great "bones" that could be easily transformed into something magical! The time you spend on a honeymoon would be unforgettable, I would chose that venue and a honeymoon. I watch David Tutora's my fair wedding occasionally, I love what he does. Get together a bunch of tacky stuff, and I'll nominate you! I love hearing about your wedding plans!

WOW! No wonder you have been in pain! I'm soooo sooorrryyy that they couldn't do more to help it! Have you ever heard of arnica gel? It's in natural health stores, and does wonders for bruising, soreness. They even have "trauma" tablets that I took after my oral surgery in the spring that helped a lot. I would look into that, it really helps with all kinds of soreness. Have you tried the tylenol arthritis? Mom says that helps the arthritis in her hands.

I had a pretty amazing day! My regular client gave me a Christmas card with an amazing Christmas tip! I was in shock! It felt great to be appreciated though.:
That's great! What a wonderful surprise! I've heard chiropractors can do wonders! I had DH ask for the peppermint kahlua, and the lady had never heard of it! Good luck! Hope you got some sleep!

I slept better last night as far as nightmares go, but I was awake for at least 30 minutes sometime around 2 AM. Well, today was a mixed day. I don't want to go into too many details, but basically, I feel like I'm being forced to do something. My grandfather always puts old-fashioned lights on the tree (okay, maybe they are 30 years old, but I'm 26, so they are old to me :rotfl2:) and their Nativity needs to be up. That does at my house too.
Geez, CC, way to make a 35 year old feel great this morning. :lmao: I know what you mean, Mom hasn't been decorating as much the last couple of years, and it just doesn't feel like Christmas without her greenery. Sorry you feel being bad to do something. That's always tough. Glad you clarified that it was legal. No real advice because I've deleted 4 things I was going to say that sounded too preachy, so just a :lmao:

Jumping in here.

WELCOME!!!! Slow and steady, and you will get there. You have a lot working against you, so don't get discouraged. The mere fact that you have the motivation and desire will take you far, just remember that it is a lifelong journey and lifestyle, so each and every day is a chance to do good for yourself!

I have a beautiful santa claus that was my mothers. I'm very nervous about slipping on the ice. After I'll go pick up my new glasses, and i'm going to join ww again and go to a meeting. That's my goal. No goofing off today.
What a special keepsake! Love the memories attached! Be careful on that ice!!!!! Don't do anything stupid! Glad you are getting new glasses, and how exciting that you are joining WW! I'll yell at you if I see you on here and remind you of all you should be doing today!!!

Morning all!

1. Our TA's wife lost her battle yesterday morning. My heart is so heavy for them! He is doing great, with great attitude and perspective at this point, his 10 year old, not so much. Funeral is not until SUNDAY, which I thought was odd, but I 'm sure they have a reason.

2. Bragging mom moment. As many of you know, we're in a financial bind that seems endless right now, and sometimes overwhelming to the point of making me physically ill. BUT, I was so proud of AK after hearing another child talk yesterday that is her age. He was saying what he wanted for Christmas, and he said "but Mom says we can't AFFORD it. SHeez, she works 2 jobs, Dad works, that should be plenty to get me whatever I want". I thought back to how mature Ak has been through all this, using her birthday money to pay part of her field trip, not asking for much for Christmas or dinners out, offering to pay for things if she wants them, and just felt blessed. I can't help but think that in the long run, once we've dug out, she'll be a better person.
2b. Sophie had a fit when she realized the Princess purse, cell phone, and accessories she was taking to her preschool party were going to someone else, so I was concerned about her party. When she opened the Barbie she got, she was THRILLED! Another girl said "but I want a Barbie house, not this. :headache: Sophie even says "you can't ask for everything for Christmas, just a few things"

3. Hoping to mega clean today. The house was decent Saturday, but, well, I have duo tornados (make that triple tornadoes, Dh is pretty messy, too)! DH is off starting tomorrow until Jan. 3, which is good and bad, but I want to be able to relax and enjoy as a family, so hoping to knock it all out today. Got everything wrapped yesterday!:dance3:

Have a wonderful day all! I am going to see if I can eat just fruit and veggies today, hasn't worked yet this week, but I'm gonna try! 3 more sleeps until Christmas!!! :grouphug:
Taryn

On the sixth day of the holiday challenge my true love gave to me . . . eight minutes relaxing, seven laps of swimming, six days of journaling, five happy WISH'ers, four motivating words, three sets of ten, two exercise gloves, and a big glass of water for me!:santa:

I was going to ask you which reindeer you felt most like today but decided that I don't know enough about any other reindeer, besides Rudolph so I am recycling one of Worfiedoodles QOTD.

If you were one of the seven dwarfs, which one would you be today -- Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy, Doc, Sneezy, Bashful or Dopey?

Hopefully most of us are Happy and not Grumpy! :santa:

Good morning!

I am also going to join in so I can get used to chatting, posting more etc..

QOTD: My favorite holiday decoration? Hmmm Anything the kids made. I also have a beautiful Disney ornament my DH got me for Christmas when we were first engaged. It is special to me as it was our first visit to Disney together.

Have a great day everyone and I am really looking forward to getting it together and meeting challenges!

:welcome: pudge the fish! I have to say that is a very interesting user name and I am wondering the backstory behind it. I'm glad to see that you are jumping in and joining us. This is a great group of folks! :flower3:

tigger813, hope that you are feeling better soon! :flower3: And I have to chuckle at all your trips to the transfer station -- my DH goes to the transfer station (except we still call it by the old name of "the dump" :rotfl:) every single week-end because our county does not do curbside recycling.

Nicole, is the weather nice enough in your neck of the woods to do some walking outside? :sunny: It's a nice change from doing it inside on the TM.

QOTD 12/21: Describe your favorite holiday decoration and why it is special to you.

I guess it would be the little red rocking chair that my dad gave to my daughter for Christmas when she was 1. We still put it by the tree with Mickey and Minnie.

That's a great memory! I think a lot of little girls have red rocking chairs. :santa:

Hi, I'm here, I've just had a cold the past few days. Originally my goal for the next two weeks before the next challenge was to lose a pound or two, but since I've been sick, I'm just hoping to maintain. I'm actually already down for the week, which will help when Christmas comes this weekend! I hope everyone is doing well and not stressing too much getting ready for the holidays.

Lisa, hope that you are feeling better soon! :flower3:

Jeanette, it's so tough figuring out what to do. :bride: When is the wedding? Could you have a small, memorable wedding someplace else and a big party at the restaurant? That way you would have money for a honeymoon. I'm sure that it will be a wonderful, memorable occassion no matter what you decide to do. I agree with what pjlla told you, don't compromise on the things that are important to you and DF, whatever those are.

Dona, so sorry about your knee. Hopefully the medicine and some rest will help things. I know how much you would like to get moving again. :flower3:

CC, hope that things get to feeling better for you.

:welcome: honugirl! I'm so sorry to hear about all the challenges in your life. It's taken me two years to lose 45 pounds so I can totally relate to slow losses. The thing is that as you are slowly losing the weight, that you are also building some strength and stamina with all that exercise, too. It will help you feel as good as the weight loss does. Thanks for joining our challenge! :santa:

I saw Tron in 3D yesterday with DS. I liked it but I never saw the old Tron. The special effects were wonderful and what I really liked was the Tron version of Cinderella's Castle -- very cool! :cool2: We got to see the Pirates preview too. pirate:

This is my last day of work before a little break for Christmas. Having lunch with DH and DS today. Hoping to get the last grocery run before Christmas in today or tomorrow, too.

Have a great day all!

Dona--
Taryn--I'm so sorry.

I was up before 3:00 yesterday. We ended up having no problems at our airport, but our plane in cincy had to be deiced. Only got here about 1/2 an hour late. I was so tired, I fell asleep during Ellen! Tom thought it was hysterical, because I never fall asleep anywhere, and because Mike fell asleep too!

We went to DSH last night and rode tot in the dark--my favorite and then went to see the osbourne lights. In bed by 9. Not eating great (I had a piece of cake for dinner:scared1:) but we took over 20000 steps yesterday. Mike and I did a lap in the airport during our layover. Off to Magic Kingdom for opening this morning.

I have not even peeked at the new threads. Thanks for keeping an eye on them for me!

Have a great day.:goodvibes

Be careful running outside! :flower3: I'm looking forward to seeing your good shopping skills in action at the expo in about 60 days! princess:

I should have qualified that statement that I would love to be at WDW on Christmas! I can't wait to get to HHI, we were singing their campfire songs last night at dinner! If you have any spots between now and the 29th, I'll take one. We leave on the 30th, won't be back until the 2nd.

You do know, Taryn, that I was saying holy cow about the $45 boyfriend necklace, right? :flower3: I'm thrilled for you that you get to take a break with your family at HHI. You all deserve it after this rough year! :santa:

So sorry to hear about the TA's wife. My heart breaks for her son.

Your girls are so sweet! :littleangel: I hope DS finds some sweet girl like yours someday.

Glad to hear that you made it safely and are having a good time and some rest! :lmao:

Don't worry about the new threads -- everything is fine. :flower3:

The WIN! results are up on the BL 10 thread. Congrats to our WINner, tggrrstarr! And to all our other WINners! :cool1:

Lisa - I knew you were referring to the necklace, didn't want to seem ungrateful for our HHI trip! I'm so sensitive that something I'll "say" comes across wrong! :rolleyes1

I've been sitting here all morning, looking up you tube videos to make a Christmas playlist while I am working. :rotfl: If you haven't heard Straight No Chaser, they are an AWESOME accapella group! Love them! These are my favorite Christmas ones by them...

Answering QOTD: Dopey and Happy!

Happy Wednesday Everyone :lovestruc

Hi Lisa0711 :yay: I'm back and thanks for this Holiday Thread :yay:
I'm trying to pop in a few times during this busy week.

The Parking Lot Rule: Small children can't set foot of the sidewalk into a parking lot with holding an adults hand. (My son thought it wasn't physically possible and wouldn't even try).has a
Love it.... Love it... LOve it :lmao:

I had a pretty amazing day! I gave two massages and got one myself. Not sure how I felt about it. I didn't realize how tight my back is! The therapist actually suggested that I see a chiropractor. She also said I seemed to be bulking up from using my weights. I haven't used them much lately, mainly just using the arms on the elliptical. I need to make it a point to get a massage more often.
TTFN :tigger:

So glad you took this time for yourself your really deserve it, :goodvibes
and I love the Santa Hats on Christmas Morning... I just may steal that idea if it's OK with you ;)

QOTD 12/21: Describe your favorite holiday decoration and why it is special to you.
So hard to pick just one, It would have to be the Manger Set My Dad gave us.
He got it in the summer and was so excited about it that he just had to bring it over in July. That's what I always remember when we set it up every year.. he loved Christmas.

QOTD If you were one of the seven dwarfs, which one would you be today -- Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy, Doc, Sneezy, Bashful or Dopey?

I try to be Happy but I have to admit I can sometimes be Sleepy and Grumpy but My DH would sometimes say I was Dopey

Have a Merry Magical Day :santa:
