Taryn- I have a Neti pot but now that I'm sitting up it's getting better!
Glad sitting up helps. Doesn't do much for bedtime, though.
Good Morning! I'm using this thread as practice. The Parking Lot Rule: The Shorts Rule: Shorts can't be worn between Oct 15 and March 15. 3.) If my kids find out what one of there presents are, I take them back. When Thomas and I got first got married, we had Thanksgiving 4 times in one day.
I love your rules. You wouldn't look at me crazy like some people do. I have a parking lot rule that if you are under 7, you hug my leg if I am unlocking the car, etc.I've gotten weird looks on that one, but it works. I may have to institute a flip flops rule, since my "tween" likes to live in hers, but I figure she's old enough now to figure it out. I'm really into natural consequences and believe life is the best teacher, unless death or serious injury is involved. I've been known to seriously understimate the injury part though, we stay on our 11 yr. old to pick up her stuff, decided last night to just let the puppy chew it and see what happened, she left her uggs at the bottom of the steps, tripped, and sprained her ankle.

Love the presents rule! And I am sure you felt STUFFED that Thanksgiving. My MIL gave up on us being there for Thanksgiving after she cooked all day a few times and we didn't eat dinner b/c we were full from lunch. I wasn't budging on lunch at my mom's b/c that is the only holiday that my brother and his family comes for, they go to his MIL for Christmas day.
QOTD 12/21: Describe your favorite holiday decoration and why it is special to you.
Holy Cow!

And you get to go on a little vacation for New Year's -- that is almost as good -- plus you don't have to deal with the logistics of hauling your presents around.
I still have some coaching spots open if anyone is interested.
I should have qualified that statement that I would love to be at WDW on Christmas! I can't wait to get to HHI, we were singing their campfire songs last night at dinner! If you have any spots between now and the 29th, I'll take one. We leave on the 30th, won't be back until the 2nd.
QOTD: YIKES! I can't choose just one (as usual). The dated ornament my Daddy gave me for Christmas 3 days before my wedding of a little girl and her daddy decorating the tree to symbolize my last Christmas at home, the set of "old timey" ornaments he gave me, my Mickey ornaments from our first trip, Elf on the Shelf, and a Santa figurine bowing in front of the manger. PLUS all of my girl's ornaments. Think I've shared this before, but each year we do some sort of picture ornament and they get a special ornament to symbolize something from the year. This year, Sophie got a Tiana and AK got a Tinkerbell at the Eiffel Tower, she was obsessed with France this summer and that was her goal at WDW to see the replica. We surprised her with dinner at Chefs, after which she decided she liked the architecture of France better than the cuisine.
I am going to join in on the alumni thread and try to be better about chatting
CONGRATULATIONS BIGGEST LOSER!!!!!!!!!
I am also going to join in so I can get used to chatting, posting more etc..
Welcome! You'll have a head start, because coming here will be part of your routine. If I can't have my BL and coffee first thing in the am, my day is OFF!
QOTD: I have a Tigger ornament DH gave me several years ago. We also have a Mickey crystal ornament that DMIL gave us the year before she died. We also have a set of 12 ornaments that we got as a wedding shower gift.
They sound really special!
My brother isn't one to mention nor really take any notice to things like that, so when he said it, it really made up for no one else mentioning it

Yesterday was a good day, got all my water in, ran my 36 minutes PLUS I did an hour of Zumba! Also, I'm very worried about next week's exercising.
When my brothers comment, you know something's up! They were teens when I was born, and we tease each other relentlessly, usually with comments about looking like a monkey. Not sure how that started. Anyway, One of my brothers said at Halloween, "I saw you in Lowes yesterday." "No you didn't, I didn't go." "Yes I did, there was a skeleton, and I told Gina it looked just like you do now, skin and bones". Best compliment EVER!!!! Be careful and don't keep overdoing it! Motivation is a good thing, but just remember you want to be able to do this for a lloooonnnggg time! AS for working out next week, can you do something at home? (You tube zumbas or something?) Do you always run on a treadmill? I'm guessing it might be warm enough there for you to get in a few outside runs. Be a good time to try it out!
I guess it would be the little red rocking chair that my dad gave to my daughter for Christmas when she was 1. We still put it by the tree with Mickey and Minnie.
So sweet!!!
Hi, I'm here, I've just had a cold the past few days. .
Wondered where you were! Hoping you feel better VERY soon! Sounds like you are on a roll, hate that sickness played a part in it! And have I ever told you that I wanted to name Anna Kathryn Liesel? Yes, I am fairly obsessed with Sound of Music! DH said people would call her Liesel the Weasel.

We had the hardest time with names for our girls, I would say "No, I taught a kid with that name or so and so has a kid named that", and DH would come up with hideous nicknames for each!
So I am contemplating on whether I am settling if I choose that venue and will regret it later. We would save a ton of money which we can use to have a spectacular honeymoon OR we can have an unforgettable wedding venue but not a honeymoon.
Taryn- A vacuum and a mop for Sophie!

Hilarious. You have two great girls. I think your justification for Starbucks is good. Cant believe you live that far from a Starbucks. I remember at one time, they were literally at every corner.
She told Santa last year she wanted a vacuum, a mop, a broom, and a brush! My girls get stuff in their heads, one year AK wanted a princess robe. Just to help you out. Did you ever see the show Waltons? That was filmed not far from where I live, as was Dirty Dancing. We have 2 stoplights. Until 1 was in college, the only stoplight in my town was on the track around the football field, which also served as our driving range! As for the wedding stuff, here are my 2 cents, which you can take or leave, but ultimately the decision is yours. I think the venue sounds cool, and having your family there would mean a lot. It might not be the "themed" venue, etc, but all the other touches you have for the day would make it memorable. It sounds like it has great "bones" that could be easily transformed into something magical! The time you spend on a honeymoon would be unforgettable, I would chose that venue and a honeymoon. I watch David Tutora's my fair wedding occasionally, I love what he does. Get together a bunch of tacky stuff, and I'll nominate you! I love hearing about your wedding plans!
Hi guys. I just wanted to update the group about my knee. I just got home from the dr appointment. They found a stress fracture, a torn meniscus, torn cartiledge and LOTS of arthritis. He gave me something for the arthritis. Since it has been feeling better (not great but better) he doesn't want to do anything. I have an appointment for a month from now. I did get through yesterday and today without any medication. It did bother me last night but with the heating pad and tylenol I made it through the night.
WOW! No wonder you have been in pain! I'm soooo sooorrryyy that they couldn't do more to help it! Have you ever heard of arnica gel? It's in natural health stores, and does wonders for bruising, soreness. They even have "trauma" tablets that I took after my oral surgery in the spring that helped a lot. I would look into that, it really helps with all kinds of soreness. Have you tried the tylenol arthritis? Mom says that helps the arthritis in her hands.
I had a pretty amazing day! My regular client gave me a Christmas card with an amazing Christmas tip! I was in shock! It felt great to be appreciated though.:
That's great! What a wonderful surprise! I've heard chiropractors can do wonders! I had DH ask for the peppermint kahlua, and the lady had never heard of it! Good luck! Hope you got some sleep!
I slept better last night as far as nightmares go, but I was awake for at least 30 minutes sometime around 2 AM. Well, today was a mixed day. I don't want to go into too many details, but basically, I feel like I'm being forced to do something. My grandfather always puts old-fashioned lights on the tree (okay, maybe they are 30 years old, but I'm 26, so they are old to me

) and their Nativity needs to be up. That does at my house too.
Geez, CC, way to make a 35 year old feel great this morning.

I know what you mean, Mom hasn't been decorating as much the last couple of years, and it just doesn't feel like Christmas without her greenery. Sorry you feel being bad to do something. That's always tough. Glad you clarified that it was legal. No real advice because I've deleted 4 things I was going to say that sounded too preachy, so just a

Jumping in here. I live with no adrenal glands after battling Cushing's Disease and take steroids every day to compensate for what my body no longer makes. It's pretty complicated. I put on over close to 80 pounds with the Cushing's and really want to take that off. It's coming off very slowly.... sigh. My goal is to try and work in at least 45 minutes of exercise every day.
WELCOME!!!! Slow and steady, and you will get there. You have a lot working against you, so don't get discouraged. The mere fact that you have the motivation and desire will take you far, just remember that it is a lifelong journey and lifestyle, so each and every day is a chance to do good for yourself!
