Big tour groups

I checked in today, building 10. Then the groups checked in. Building 10. Didn't even get into their rooms and the group leaders were holding chant-offs outside. I went to the front desk and begged for another room, any other room, anywhere there were no groups...

I'm in the boonies, but so far so good.

Oh, man, I would have begged for a different room, too! Glad they were able to help you out!

we did have problems with their tour buses blocking the roadway of the parking lot.
I know that is frustrating, but it is still a better situation that the "old days" when The 15s almost exclusively used the Disney buses to and from the Parks-that was something else!

The 15s are using private buses more and more for transport to and from the Parks-especially the large groups.:)

We remember that as well.

We lucked out, too. Moved from a non refurbished room to a new one, and man is it beautiful! So much storage space and shelving, and the floors are so nice and clean, and even the Murphy bed is comfortable. Oh, and we're facing landscaping/partial parking lot--sooo quiet. I was never one to make a fuss, but this time I'm glad I asked to make a change.

Haven't read thru the entire thread, but it reinforces that I will never, ever stay at one of the Values. I'll either go to a Mod or pick a nice place offsite (and there are many) and transport myself. Being inside the Disney bubble for the "magic" isn't always worth the aggravation.

We've had multiple quiet stays at Pop Century. AoA seems pretty quiet too. The All Stars are noisy though, maybe because there are 3 of them sandwiched together? One of our noisiest stays was at AKL, pool view. So, you can get noise just about anywhere.

So I was watching a vlog on YouTube today where they go and film (resorts, parts of the park, certain attractions, etc and then do narration later) and yesterday they were on the WDW railroad. They let the railroad spiel go instead of narrating.

At one point a CM had to say "No chanting on the train please, no chanting on the train please" (I missed the first part but it may have sounded like "we hope no chanting [again I'm not certain if that is what I was hearing], no chanting on the train please, etc". No clue the context but thought that was interesting.

Additional stuff:
The CM also had to repeatedly say to keep hands, feet, etc inside the train and even called out at least twice a specific train car, shoe color and location in that train car that appearantly had someone with their foot out. He also repeated a few times to make sure people were staying seated until the train came to a complete stop-the last stop (once you had come full circle from main street back to main street) he said "please stay seated do not get off the train" so I'm assuming someone tried to actually fully get off prior to a complete stop.

*Must have been a day where peeps weren't wanting to follow directions well*

Haven't had a chance to read the whole thread. We're here now and just taking a break (we were in AK, but it started to pour, so we decided to head in for a bit).

We stay off property, so have no experience with them at the hotels. But we've seen them everywhere in the parks. There are a lot more of them here this year than last summer or even 2015. I have to be honest and say that this year...knock on wood...we have had far less issues with them in the parks than we have had in past years. I also fully respect their right to be in the parks. But I still look at them with an untrusting and often annoyed eye, as the chanting is ridiculous. We saw F! a few nights ago. Thankfully we know where they usually sit in the theater and went to the other side.

We've lucked out this trip, and I'm glad. They're bad kids. I've seen several of the girls smile at my kids, especially DD9, and seen them interacting with other little children of guests. But when they're in their "pack" mentality, it's annoying at best and troublesome at worst.

I'm hope I'm never so bitter and jaded that young people having a good time bother me. The only thing that really brings down my mood at Disney are grouchy, unpleasant people.

They're bad kids.
I "think" you left out the "not".:)

And I agree-we've seen them hold doors open for handicapped Guests and saw one family in the Food Court ask several of them to take a picture with them as if they are Celebrities lol and the girls took pictures and talked with the family smiling the whole time.

They are definitely not totally "bad" people.:)

Not being able to sleep because of excessive noise puts me in a bad mood. That happened to us once and it was due to cheerleaders but I can relate. To each their own.

I'm a young person, well 29, but I have little patience for people in general who have zero consideration for others. Very few people are against celebrating and being happy but anyone, at least to me, who is line-cutting, screaming and chanting in any language, creating human chains, etc is going to irritate me. It doesn't matter if they are a big tour group or not it's just the numbers do tend to amplify the issue.

We went to Schlitterbahn New Braunfels, TX 2 years ago. We were in line at the locker place and this group of around 35 probably 8-13/14 year olds comes rushing up and cutting us in line. They shoved us out of the way and were just all over the place as in they didn't get into a line at all. The chaperones by the way were right by them and did nothing at all. We got outside of the mob of the group but onto the sides at the counter. The guy saw what the group of kids did and after he finished helping 3 of them he went right to us and helped us as well as apologizing for what had happened.

So yeah..sure those kids were actively having a good time but it doesn't mean that I can't shake my head at their lack of consideration and their chaperones lack of caring and be annoyed with it.

Do you know what dates in February they are there
All of February, but it will be less as the Month goes on.

It will be almost all Argentina Tour Groups-Brazil goes off Summer Break at the end of January, while Argentina's Summer Break ends at the end of February.

So don't worry about leraning Portuguese-just concentrate on Spanish!lol:)

Being angry after being shoved out of the way as 40 girls stampede past in a queue does not make one a bitter or jaded person. There's a difference between having a good time and being obnoxiously rude. Pounding on doors and windows in the middle of the night, loudly chanting in queues, cutting lines, sitting down and blocking whole areas of access - do they have to do that to 'have a good time?' Would you be in a good mood if they did all those things to you?

If their version of having a good time involves cutting in line, chanting loudly, banging on hotel doors and windows, and making human chains in crowded places, then yes -- that will bother me. Don't think that makes me "bitter and jaded". I just don't care for people being SO inconsiderate of others. Lucky you if that doesn't bother you, I guess!

We went for four nights this past February, the first week and only seen a few of them.

Hate to be the bearer if bad news but I stayed in pop October last year. Yes I got stuck in the hurricane. I had to phone reception Because for large groups of teenagers more that one night creating noise in the middle of the night I was opposite the large Mickey phone, the foosball court seemed to be where they liked to congregate.
But hay I also called to complain about the American family two doors down who pulled their chairs onto the walkway treating it like their personal balcony smoking and talking loudly till after midnight.
