Big tour groups

No chance of that being the final. Brazil is a shell of what it used to be as a footballing nation and Argentina will never be able to put it all together.
You are probably right.

I would love to see it though just for the "spectacle" it would create!

It would be Michigan v. Ohio State or Alabama v. Auburn playing for the National Champiionship X 100!lol:)

I will never forget the ATGs holding up 7 fingers and shouting "SIETE! SIETE!" when they would see a BTG back in July,2014 and then the BTGs were carrying around Germany flags after the Finals!!lol:)

So,even if Brazil and Argentina don't play each other, the BTGs and ATGs will still INTENTLY follow each other's games and react INTENTLY.

After what happened at End Zone in 2014,I've heard they are going to "split" the BTGs and the ATGs between End Zone and Intermission next July for the World Cup "watch parties".

World Cup Julys at WDW are a thing to behold!lol:)

Your experiences mirror ours down to every last crossed T and dotted i.
Even where we've seen them gathered, outside of RnR.

Most of the time, if it wasn't for the matching shirts I wouldn't have known they were a group. Some groups of family reunions are just as large too. Groups misbehaving are bad, no matter where they are from.

This is something DH noted to me as we had several LatinAmericans push past us as we waited in line for something. I hadn't thought about it and your post brought it back to me. There is a culture difference between the more "European way here in the US (where they did bring over many European ways that we still use today)" and the "Latin American way". We queue for everything here. Lines are just how we do things. Everywhere you go, you stand in line. Not just at Disney but in your day to day life you wait your turn and you learn to do it in preschool. But in other parts of the world they never queue up for anything. Lines just aren't done, you gather closely together and all try at once, it seems. Now, how anyone ever gets services or gets things done in that system is beyond me. But I assume when it's something you've done all your life it's just something you get used to and it just works out. I imagine it gets chaotic and loud at time, not

I know they stay at pop but what about AOA AOA is not home like pop is but I would rather get a good night sleep then be home

To my knowledge,no,BUT they do use the AoA buses at times to return to POP and do walk across Generation Gap Bridge and "explore" AoA,so staying at AoA does not completely "isolate" you from The 15s.:)

Bummer. Hope they're mostly gone by August. I only remember seeing them a couple of times last July, and only chanting once, and not too loudly. No terrible misbehavior. What resort are you at?
Tour groups tend to be a July thing, one of the reasons we don't go that month. We went in July in 2010 and saw a ton of groups, last three visits have been August trips and we barely saw any. We never personally had a problem with the groups, but they did add tremendously to crowd levels.

Maybe they could open a new "Disney's All Tour Group Resort" especially made to house large parties of teenagers and their chaperones.

In seriousness though, I can see how this would be annoying. I must have been lucky that I haven't encountered a lot of rowdy groups and they don't tend to go to Disneyland in California.
My Dniece suggested that they build a Disney park in Brazil...although I think they'd still make the annual pilgrimage to Orlando :rolleyes2

I didn't read all 10 pages of this, but we were at WDW over the last two weeks and didn't have any negative interactions with tour groups. If not for large numbers of people wearing the same color t-shirt, we wouldn't have even noticed them.

They do not stay there. On our last trip we decided to go eat there because POP food court was unusable. They were in the AOA food court as well, and will assume their tour guide put them on those buses after they ate. If I were paying to stay there I would have been very aggravated.

We were in all 4 parks July 1-6. There were several tour groups but the largest one was an all girl group from Brazil. I'm no fan of tour groups and if you knew me, I'd be the last person not to complain about them. But honestly, they were not much of a nuisance. They created an occasional log jam just by shear numbers but they were by and large well behaved. I did not see any of the behavior stated by the OP. They took up a large section at Fantasmic and were singing and doing the wave but nothing obnoxious and a lot of people were joining in (not me). I've been going to Disney World since 1972 and have seen A LOT WORSE than this group.

I know it sounds crazy but I don't want to worry about getting random knocks on my door the rest I can more or less ignore

Hi Just got back last night. While I'm sure there are times when tour groups cheer and are loud (maybe at the hotels they are worse) I didn't experience any of what is described here. The only time in the parks I saw a big space taken up on the ground was a spot out of the way with backpacks and "holders" out side tower and rock and roller coaster yesterday but I didn't find it at all a safety hazard. I was too busy dodging scooters! The only real line cutting I saw was a young american millennial couple that literally pushed pass 75 people in line for the tower elevator "They need 2". People started jeering at them as they got onto the elevator. 1) no CM asked for two and 2) there were multiple parties of two in front of them.

On RNR they were cheering and counting down in the cars but they weren't loud in line at all. Yes the group moves as a mass so if you get behind them it seems like you are stuck behind a big group that is "in your way" but if it was a bunch of people in different tshirts you would be behind 50 people no matter what language and what country they were from.

One nice thing about the tours is that they are prepared. They know where they are going- the tour operators have all the fast passes set and there isnt that horrible moment when you realize there is a group of 12 people in front of you that dont have any fast passes set and are attempting to go through the fast pass line and clog up the entrance making you wait while they argue with the CM. (boy did I see that all week long!!)

I'm in no way discounting your experiences but as others have said the Cheerleaders are no picnic. They have been the worse groups I have encountered. They were rude and disruptive, "School spirit Cheering in the middle of haunted mansion???" and cut lines threw trash and were overall snotty tour group ever.

Yes the BtG are enthusiastic. They are having fun at an amusement park.
Yes! That third paragraph you wrote. Every single trip we run into that--the group who doesn't have FPs and want to go into the FP line--not sure how someone can be that ignorant :confused3

I've read through all 10 pages, so far, and also commented.
Ive just been wondering? What if all these people who commented with suggestions, (good ones I think) for WDW to instigate for the tour groups would write, email the powers that be with these concerns and suggestions? I know the bottom line with WDW is money, but if enough of us let them know what we think, and make suggestions as to how to stop it, maybe some of it will stick? I feel Disney would make lots more money during those times of year when tour groups take over if the rest of us could actually go to WDW in Jan, Feb, or July. Imagine, there would be hoards of people going during those times and enjoying themselves.
I know that when we went last February, I researched to see what cheer groups, BGT's, Presidents Day, marathons were going on, and tried to book the dates that avoided these, for the most part. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we didn't have to finagle times between all these dates, esp to avoid the tour groups? Just wondering..............

So, I've read the whole thread and have two questions:

1. The groups that are rude (i.e...loud chanting on buses and in lines, keeping other hotel guests awake past regular bedtime hours, pushing and cutting in line)...They are aware that they are being rude and inconsiderate, right?? And, they just don't care?? Maybe that's a dumb question, but I just can't believe that people (even teenagers) are totally OK with being overtly rude and affecting the enjoyment of others.

2. And, secondly, are the kids' parents aware of the rude behavior?? While in another country?? I just sent one of my kids to Disney World on a band trip. We had a frank discussion beforehand about appropriate and expected behavior. I would be MORTIFIED if I knew one of my kids was being rude and disruptive on a group trip...especially one I paid for. I expect my kids to behave, especially when they are given the gift and responsibility of independent travel. No way would I send my kids on a trip where I knew it was common to be rude to other vacationers in another country. Do the parents know about the reputation of the big tour groups, and they just don't care??

I'm seriously wondering on both of these points...because I just can't imagine...

1. plenty of people just don't care. In a thread like this, it almost sounds like the BTGs are the only in osiderate people at WDW. But come on, I've been in hotels next to noisy families before. People let their kids go to the pool by themselves. People cut in line, people use their strollers as battering rams.

I don't think the rules people have suggested are all that practical, but I do think that Disney should enforce quiet hours- maybe midnight to 7 am. It's already against the rules to line cut and it's pretty easy to stop them from doing so as a fellow guest. I don't really agree with your inclusion of the chanting on the list. It's not a church or museum. Didn't really bother me.

2. As long as the kids don't do anything to get themselves arrested, I'm sure they don't. I don't think they really need to either. Probably in the minority here, but 15 year olds are nearly adults. Unless you plan to escort your teen everywhere, you've eventually got to trust they can handle themselves. It's not a band or organized school trip in which there are different standards of behavior. A school can discipline a kid. A tour guide? Nope. Tour guides should be enforcing Disney rules, and if they're not doing that, they should be black listed. Disney doesn't do that for some reason. But tour guides really aren't chaperones. It's largely on Disney to enforce the rules like it is with every guest.

This is a "Deja vu" Thread.:)

We have it every July and Guests do email and contact Disney every year.

Tune in early next July and you will see this same exact Thread.:)

Disney has done a few things like bringing in the Green Shirts, but July will always be like it is to one degree or another.:)

So I was telling my sister about this thread. She went last year in July and stayed at All Star Music. As I was describing the comments on the thread she got a look in her eye like she was reliving a traumatic event! It was pretty funny, but of course I then switched topics to our September trip and how empty it will be!

So, an update.

I emailed guest relations and they referred the matter to another manager. Long and short of it is that we now find ourselves in a Savannah view room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. So that happened....

Wow, that's great!

In a thread like this, it almost sounds like the BTGs are the only in osiderate people at WDW.
Certainly no one in this thread has said this directly, and I really don't think it's implied or "almost sounds like" it either.

These tour groups are the topic of the thread -- when random rude and disruptive INDIVIDUALS are the topic of the thread, that's what's discussed. :)

I'm staying in a preferred room in 60s bldg 5. We are on ground floor but not on the pool side. Noise has not yet been an issue here. I just got back from MK, and there are a couple dozen teens seated at the tables around the pool. I hope they don't get too rowdy for the folks on the other side of the building

I checked in today, building 10. Then the groups checked in. Building 10. Didn't even get into their rooms and the group leaders were holding chant-offs outside. I went to the front desk and begged for another room, any other room, anywhere there were no groups...

I'm in the boonies, but so far so good.
