Hi!! I'm looking to go to Disney next year in December, I've never vacationed in December so I'm a bit nervous as it is.. we have a big group that's planning on going. It will be me, husband, 13 year old son, 23 year old daughter, her boyfriend (maybe fiancée by then..), her best friend (same age) and her fiancée, and we may have another adult in the mix, so that's 8!!
Does anyone have any thoughts on places to stay that offer park transportation? We are thinking of flying from NC so we would need to get to the hotel as well.
We do have Bluegreen Vacations but they don't offer free transportation, last time I asked it was $15 per person per day for a bus that would take you to and from the parks...
tia!!

I guess first ..
.... what is your budget per night?
.... are you set on a condo or will hotel/suites work?

The only place I would recommend that offers free, reliable park transportation are the hotels on Hotel Blvd. You're looking at 2 bedrooms at a minimum: one for your family of 3 plus another for the two young couples. The extra adult will throw a money wrench in things and you'll probably need an extra bedroom or you'll have to put that person on a fold out couch (if available).

A 3-bedroom condo/house/timeshare would work out best for you. You can use your Blue Green, but you'll need bedding for 8 people so 3 BR?. Uber/Lyft will cost you approximately $15-$20 each way per car, so you're looking at another $60-$80 per day in transportation for all of you if you split into 2 cars. That's expensive but cheaper that $15 per person per day and you're not on some shuttle schedule. People really like Wyndham Bonnet Creek and one of the 3BRs or 4 BRs would would for your crew. If you're going over Christmas, things will get more expensive but you can book a 3BR at WBC from 12/1-12/19 for $1470 for the week from vacationupgrades.com. Since WBC is right there in the middle of WDW, Uber is only about $7-$10 per car each way so you'll save money there. You can also look into renting a home nearby. If you rent a car, you'll have to pay for parking and it's currently $22 per day.

If you are trying to keep this affordable, with 8 people I would drive down with two cars. You can drive down from NC in one day and save a bundle in airfare. Once near Disney you can rent a house or large timeshare and use your cars to get to the parks, stores and restaurants and save even more money.
