Big Thunder Ranch BBQ - any similar options in Disneyland?

Two years ago my DD and I visited DL and we had the pleasure of eating at BTRBBQ. It was fantastic! Our family will be visiting DL in September and I was wondering if there are any other restaurants that offer a similar menu?

I've been told that the "official" replacement for the BBQ is over at River Belle Terrace. They now have ribs, so I guess that counts. Honestly, nothing will replace BTR-BBQ. It was all-you-can-eat ribs, chicken, sausage, totally awesome cornbread with honey butter, and sodas in a mason jar. Plus the ambiance of the area was so Western. No, nothing that DL has is even close to my former favorite restaurant. I was hoping they would find a way to reopen it once Star Wars Land starting shaping up, but it's probably never coming back.

Thank you for the information. I completely agree that nothing can truly replace BTR-BBQ! My daughter and I loved it and we were really sad to see it go. I will take a look at the menu for River Belle Terrace and see if it is worth a visit. I LOVED the sausage along with cornbread and honey butter. Thanks again!!! :)

I guess I will remain the only person who hated Big Thunder BBQ. We went shortly before it was supposed to close to see what the hype was about, and it was awful. The food was cold, and the "all you can eat" did not mean that much because the wait staff never returned after bringing us the initial spread. I had to get up and wander around to find someone to refill my soda, and then I had to get up and wander around again to get the check so we could get the hell out of there.

That place deserved to close, and everyone who worked there deserved to be fired even though I doubt they were.

I too miss the BTBBQ, but have found that River Belle Terrace is a good alternative. I think the ribs taste the same; they come six to a serving, which is plenty for me. The cole slaw seems pretty similar to the one that the BBQ used to serve, but the baked beans are very different. I haven't a replacement for the chicken (which I liked) or the sausage (I wasn't a huge fan, so I haven't looked for a replacement). I do like the setting for the RBT; the outdoor tables have a nice view of the Rivers of America and you don't have to worry about being seated at a table where the smell of animals might impact your ability to eat (we had that happen once at BTBBQ...eww!).

Loved BTMBBQ, still mourning this loss :(

The cornbread, the ribs, the chicken, THE BEANS! gahhhhhhhh!

My girlfriend had never been so we made a reservation the last week it was open and she was like "OMG I can't believe I've never been here!!"

we ate at the river belle terrace.

it sucks compared to the big thunder bbq.

no bbq bucket and not all u can eat.

after we ate we were still hungry lol :-)

we are not big people either, we are runners and run 5 and 10ks and are fit.

its just smaller portions.

they do have a half chicken meal though which may be enough for u.

:-)

hmmm maybe we are just chicken maniacs hahaha I dunno.

Breaks my heart. My family loved BTMBBQ. We ate there at least 5 times over the past handful of years. Sitting down for a big barbecue dinner at dusk was truly magical.

Even better at Christmas time. Eating BBQ, seeing reindeer, the official presidentially pardoned turkey, and taking a picture with Santa...what else can top that? True 'Murica right there.

We're bummed that it's gone, too! My DH really wanted to eat there on our next trip! :(
