Dear Wish community,
I was able to finish the Princess because of you all!
Before my PF flared up in January, I was doing my galloway training and you all were so inspiring and helpful with all my questions. It was nice to check in and see how everyone was doing as I was training alone. The weather was CRAZY and reading about everyone training was just so inspiring.
After the injury you were all supportive and had great advice on everything asked - no matter what the topic - clothes, training, course, hotel, seeing a sports doc, transportation...whatever. When I did the race I had not run a long distance in over a month AND had not been on a road or sidewalk when I would attempt a short run. Yet I was able to finish I think because you all gave such great advice and tips - and just so darn supportive that I could just try! I saw Crystallight33 on the race - recongized her costume - went up to her to say hi and she asked how my foot was holding up. How sweet was that?
Anyhoo, the fact I finished is still surprising as the farthest I went in training was 10.5 on Jan 15th. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. It was an incredible experience and I learned alot about myself and what I am capable of when I want to push through. I can't thank you enough for that...YOU HELPED BIG TIME. BTW first 7 miles was SO fun, no pain!
When we walked into Magic Kingdom later in the day of the race Move It Shake It was starting....I rallied big time and danced down all the way down main street directly behind the last float. My friend Amy and I stood and Celebrated our finish and when Goofy got off the float he came up touched my medal, gave me a thumbs up and a HUGE hug. WHAT A GREAT DISNEY MOMENT! Here is a dorky picture of me dancing down Main street... I love that street party!
THANKS TO YOU ALL FOR MAKING THIS HAPPEN!...well I didn't give up, but thanks for the encouragement because it helped me push through! What a fun race. AND koolgirl...aka Jennifer, we gave you a ride, but your encouragement before and after the race esp about the camera meant so much...esp with you dealing with your illness on raceday!
I will do a race report, but wanted to say THANKS! You guys are the best.
Julie
