I ran the half on Saturday with a group of people, including my wife. We are in our late 40's and my wife is a life-long Type 1 diabetic. At the end of the race (her first half), she has a blood sugar reading of 300 and was very nauseous. When the nausea continued to persist (and worsen), the medical team insisted that she move inside the triage tent for treatment. Everyone so so very kind and helpful - turned a scary 30 minutes for this husband into something to remember.
So I wanted to take the time to express my thanks to all of the volunteers, but especially the team that helped my wife (and my nerves). They showed real concern and caring when we needed it.
