We are going to be in DW the end of next week and are planning to eat at Big River Grille & Brewery. We have never eaten there. I have heard some good reports, any suggestions on menu items that everyone recommends. I will appreciate any input. I will be celebrating my birthday and going to celebrate with dinner here.

Dw and I really like Big River. My wife likes the meatloaf, me, the red rocket ribs, we both love the beer & cheese soup. Sit out on the boards if possible.

We will be visiting in June and were wanting to visit here for the first time, unfortunately, there was a recent post that listed the latest restaurant inspections and this was one that received multiple citations that required more than just a routine follow up inspection. It did not list the specific citations but we are still not sure.

Thanks for your input both of you and notoes4 also. My son works for Disney so I will get any scoop from him, but I am positive that Disney will be doing it's very best to have everything be perfect. Thanks for the info.

I enjoy sitting out on the Boardwalk and ordering the beer sampler! Great way to relax in between the day at the parks and the night at the parks!

Sounds great, I am not a beer drinker, but I am sure I can find some other beverage that I will enjoy. Sitting out on the boardwalk sounds relaxing. Great way to spend a birthday dinner.

Listen to this weeks DIS Unplugged email show and you will hear two different questions about the Big River Grille & Brewery. It can be found here.

Forget the meatloaf--dry, almost no sausage anymore and devoid of taste. Maybe tablespoon's worth of gravy over the entire order.
Burgers are OK and the beer. That's about it for BRG.

We ate here this past December for a late dinner with the whole fam. 5 out of the 6 of us got the steak with shrimp add-on (all were good), and I had some of the best chicken alfredo pasta that I've ever tasted. We did however have a lack-luster waitress, and the restaurant ambiance (or lack there-of) leaves something to be desired. Great meal for the fam, but wouldn't go back just hubby and I if we were looking for something romantic-- even TGI Friday's has better theming...

I've eaten there twice. Great experiences both times. Beer sampler and food was great. I had the grilled meatloaf once and the steak the other time. Both wonderful. Here is a pic of the meatloaf. Plenty of sauce and not dry as another poster mentioned.

I have a friend that works at WDW and we picked his food brain. We really want to try BRG since DH loves beer. He said he really liked it and suggested we go. So...we're going!

DF and are I are planning on eating their the last night of our honeymoon.

Do they take reservations?

Thanks everyone for all of the info. Some of the pictures look very inticing. Thanks Fire Dancer for the Disney Unplogged link. It was good to listen to. I tried to make reservations and was told they do not make reservations there. So we will just go and try our luck. Some of the food item pictures look good and sound like something I would like. My friend doesn't eat seafood but the pasta and steaks sound good. Thanks so much everyone for your input and help.:)

We have had good luck with the food at Big River.

Favorite beer is rocket red, although the new Irish Red is very good also.

You might want to call the morning you want to eat there and ask for priority seating. Some of the restaurants that don't take ADRs will let you call same day. It is worth a try. Good luck.

Food was pretty good, but the decor is very bland. Any given chain restaurant ranks higher in that category. Not a bad place to go if you need a bite on the Boardwalk. My wife kinda liked the beer sampler. We're in no hurry to head back, though.

Cajunwdwfan: That meatloaf dosen't look a thing like we we always got. Are those onions on top?
