Hi does anyone know if either of these places takes reservations? I thought I read that Big River does now take reservations but when I go to My Disney Experience and try to make a reservation it says no times are available...

Thanks DisneyWishes14; I just tried and it says they don't take reservations that far in advance. I'm looking for a reservation in Jan 2019. I'm thinking I will just take my chances and make a reservation when we get there. They usually have availability.

We have never had a problem getting a table at Big River Grill. We stay at BWV, so have eaten there many times.

Don't mean to hijack the thread but just wondering... Have you eaten there on a Sunday during football season?
I plan to do lunch on December 9th and was just going to do walk up but I'm concerned it may be crowded with people watching whatever game is on.
I wouldn't mine sitting outside either but I just don't know how crowded it may get.

No, haven’t done that. I doubt it get the crowds like ESPN, since I think that much of the dining area is TV-free. You have to be in the bar to see the TVs.

We have never needed reservations for Big River Grill. In good weather, we sit outside and enjoy it.

If you know the day and time you want to dine, it wouldn't hurt making a reservation when they open (it looks like they open about 90 days in advance). You may not have an issue, but we were actually turned away from Big River Grille on an evening the weekend leading up to MLK day.

I agree that's it likely not a main place for people to go to watch football, but I can see those who go to ESPN Club and can't get a seat opting to head over to Big River Grille. Last time we watched football at ESPN Club on a Sunday, we saw lots of people coming in, looking at how crowded it was and how no seats were available, and turning around to walk back out. So, Big River might see some of that overflow.
