i was just checking out the menu there, doesn't look too bad.. any reviews on it??

thanks!

We went there 2 times on our trip a couple weeks ago. The food is excellent!! I had the pecan crusted chicken breast and my husband had the rigotoni. Both were excellent!! The microbrews are excellent as well. We're looking forward to going back again on our next trip.

If it helps, I really like the beer there!!! They had this red last time I was there, it was great!

We only ate there once. Service was terrible and the food was mediocre at best.

We hit it once or twice every trip (primarily for lunch) and it is always very enjoyable. Great sandwiches and appetizers. Burger is pretty good, but not fabulous. Love the beers!

Also, love the fact that, for lunch at least, it is never terribly crowded. If you are at Epcot or MGM, it is a great place to slip away to in order to get away from the crowds in the middle of the day.

My husband and I had lunch there a few trips back. It was a beautiful day so we were able to sit outside. We each had a hamburger and a couple of beers. The burger was good, the beer better and sitting outside watching the friendships was excellent.

We were just there this weekend..it was good!

Very relaxing and fun place.

My husband and I ate there once last October. It was just okay. I had two appetizers and I think he had a sandwich. Nothing spectacular.

I haven't tried Big River but among all micro breweries I have tried I usually find that the attraction is the beer, not the food.

Honestly, it isn't our favorite of the big river locations, but we usually stop in for a beer or two if we are in the nieghborhood - and it is a good neighborhood to be in, isn't it?. It isn't a bad place to have a beer and a burger, but keep it simple on the food, imho. As for the beer, you have to remember it is disney world, and they aren't going to go too far out on a limb, they keep it pretty accessible, pilsners and lagers rule disney world and this big river doesn't break that rule. Usually in the spring they add a reasonable wheat beer that is worth the stop. Don't go in expecting an IPA or a porter or stout or barley wine, etc., expect Florida easy access, light and approachable. It is worth a stop, imho. I honestly think that the beer has gotten better over the last five years or so. YMMV of course.

Another good beer stop is across crescent lake at the Yacht Club at the Crew's Cup. They have pretty much the widest selection of bottles on property. You can make a pretty good circuit out of it, big river, and rose and crown. Throw in the rest of the countries and the sushi bar in the swan and you have a weekend's worth.

As always, d-r has good advice about the beer. That wheat(Wowzer's Wheat I think it's called) is pretty good.
BRG is a good spot for a burger and a very good meatloaf they make.
The service is best described as "nonchalant" but you might get lucky and get one of the few servers who care.
Unless it has been extensively remodled, the inside is quite dingy looking--a table outside on the Boardwalk is better.

We ate there for lunch last month. The beer was great, food was blah! Loved the Big River in Chattanooga, so I was looking forward to it. They don't even compare.

I agree that Chattanooga is better, and so is Charlotte's Rock Bottom (the same chain as big river, different name), and thank you UncleRomulus for the vote of confidence - I appreciated that. I came back to this thread because I remembered that I forgot to say in my first post that the rocket red is pretty good, too, it is a hoppy and tasty little beer.

I agree with UncleRomulus to sit outside - and you know, I don't think this helps the attentiveness of the wait staff though - the other suggestion I'd have is just to hop up to the bar.

We ate there earlier this month. It was nothing to rave about...service wasn't very good, menu wasn't very interesting and the food wasn't that good. We won't go there again.

I know everyone has their own opinions, but we stumbled upon Big River one afternoon after playing a round of mini-golf at Fantasia Gardens (we were trying to find a way to get back to the Pop Century via the bus and wound up on the Boardwalk). Anyway, we thought the food was good and the service was great...a very nice young man who dealt with our sometimes picky DDs' taste!

We were there in June and got a table outside just in time for the Illuminations. The food was good, burgers and salads, andt he service was fine. I guess it is hit or miss!

The meatloaf is great!!! So is the beer (That is from DH!)
