Big purchase at Best Buy - strategies??

I'm looking to buy a dishwasher at Best Buy pronto (as in, in the next couple of days). The dishwasher is $750 online, and installation is $190. Ebates has 2% cash back, but I'm wondering if there are other things I should consider to save money before I buy. I've got Swagbucks but have never gotten into it (I think I *might* have 700SB!), so that doesn't greatly interest me unless that one purchase is enough to cash out for something decent. I also do Shopkick, but I assume 2% cash back through Ebates is more valuable than 1 kick per dollar.

Best Buy on swagbucks is 3% cash back right now (it fluctuates so act fast), which will net you 2250 in swagbucks plus there is a bonus of 1500 swagbucks for the amount of your purchase. That's enough swagbucks for almost 1 $25 giftcard and a good amount to work towards your next $25 giftcard. Also your 1st giftcard you redeem for on swagbucks is discounted.

Pardon my really dumb question. I've got the Swagbucks app, and I found Best Buy in the "Shop" section. If I'm reading the fine print on the 1500 SB bonus right, I have to either buy something from the Weekly Ad online or buy something in store with my QR code. When I click on "Shop Now," it just takes me to the Best Buy website. How do I get the QR code to use in-store? Thanks!

Not a dumb question.... I had the same problem!
Go into swagbucks from the web not thru the app. Make sure you are logged in to your account. scroll down to shop then scroll down to select Best Buy. If you scroll down on the Best Buy page you will see the QR code. Not sure if it does for others, but it doesn’t work for me on the app.

Then have them scan the QR code when you buy! I usually have them scan it right at the beginning of the order- first thing- and have never had a problem with it crediting.

Buy a gift card at Kroger to cover most of the purchase amount! That way you'll get fuel points in addition to your credit card rewards!

I went with Swagbucks and had the cashier scan the QR code. She even confirmed that she saw “Swagbucks Partner” or something like that pop up on her screen. When I go into Swagbucks, though, I don’t see any reference at all to my purchase. Is that normal? I made the purchase about 2 hours ago. Thanks!

Do you have their cc? You usually can get cash back or at least finance 0% for 6 months.

I know it would be a pain but can you find a plumber that could install cheaper?

I went ahead and purchased today, including the install. Interesting, installation was $40 cheaper when I paid for it at the store versus paying for it online!

Nice! They want to charge $400 online to mount our TV on a (non working) fireplace maybe I'll try going to the store.

just fyi, washer, dryer, etc., are major appliances. Small appliance would be coffee maker, blender, etc.

I bought my bestbuy giftcard online at a 12% off then used my swagbucks... or whatever you choose.

For a major appliance like that, I would not use a gift card to purchase it. If there are any issues, you would have better assistance with your credit card company (if you had issues with Best Buy).
