Little kid had it coming. So did the camera man and buddies. No one has to take that kind of abuse I think he had a right to defend himself. I think everyone involved should have been suspended, though. Just to prevent it from happening again. If you read the update, both kids were suspended.

Looks like a little bit of common sense was used in that the smaller kid did get the more serious punishment. In a lot of zero tolerance schools, the bigger child would have been punished the same way.

It took me back but the little kid had it coming! When we were growing up this was how things were handled by kids...Slug me and I will slug you back or kick your back side. I wonder if the little guy learned a lesson about thinking he is so tough.

This same kind of thing happened a few years ago in my son's middle school. The bully no longer bullies other kids because he got his butt kicked by someone he didn't think could or would do it.

If I were the parent of the bigger kid, I would make sure his suspension days were spent having tons of fun. He didn't do anything wrong at all. The other boy punched him while he stood there. How much should a person have to take?

Hopefully this taught the little punk a lesson about messing with people, especially those that can body slam you to the ground.

ITA, that boy shouldn't be punished at all. This isn't even a case of one word against the other, they have what happened on tape.

This. My kids have never been bullied or even remotely picked on. However, I have told them that if this is ever the case and they got suspended for fighting back, bullied or not, but just fighting back and sticking up for themselves, that I will make their days off fun. Not only that, but I will inform the school of this. Something like "Hey, ds, You just got suspended for taking up for yourself, what are you going to do now? I am going to Disney World. " Yep that would be my response to the school.

the only thing hard to watch was when the skinny punk punched the bigger kid in the face. We cheered when the bigger kid body slammed him. And yea, if the bigger kid was mine and was suspended, we'd just book a trip to disney to congratulate him for standing up for himself. And I'd have a lot to say to the school for him getting in trouble at all.

If Big Guy was not harrassing Little Guy prior to this, then yes Little Guy had it coming, he threw the first punch and then tormented Big Guy.

DH and I just had this conversation bc DS8 is built similary to Big Guy but is very sweet and gentle and has these two little buggers bothering him. We told him he is to NEVER throw the first punch but if either of these other two kids hurt him, he can fight back. And trust me I think the outcome will be a similar body slam that Little Guy received.

I hope and pray it doesnt happen but if my Big Guy finally gets hurt physically by these boys and then snaps, he will not be in trouble with us, that's for sure.
