My Mom and I are planning a big 10 day Christmas trip for our immediate family (16 people with all the kids/grandkids). We'll all have dining plans and as we embark upon our planning, I'm curious if there are any restaurants we should cross off our list if it would be impossible to get a reservation for a group that size.

I understand we'll need to call the group reservation line for all meals we'd like to eat together, but we want to have a Plan A, B, and C in case we can't quite get what we want and it would be helpful if we went into it already knowing the impossible scenarios.

Any help/tips/tricks are appreciated. Feel free to link any helpful threads I may have missed in my searches.

Thanks!

How exciting! Our "immediate family" has grown to 14, with one on the way and we're hoping to go late November this year :sunny: Our favorite restaurants for big groups are O'hana (they always accommodate us at one long table, and the kids love participating in the coconut races), Hoop De Doo (even if they put you at two tables you'll be next to each other - again the kids love the rowdy atmosphere!), Rose & Crown Pub (they put us by ourselves in an enclosed patio area) and Mama Melrose (Long wait, but worth it to us! They always put us at one long table and the food is delicious). I would suggest you go on the Disney website and go to "Things to Do" then check "Make Dining Reservations". You put in your dates -- up to 180 days out -- and the number of people in your party, and they will tell you if they will have to seat you at two different tables. That's how I've made all our dining reservations in the past. Good luck :santa:

I also have a group of 16 going down for a 60th wedding anniversary. I was really worried about making ADRs. We are going down Jun4-12th and staying at YC CL with Deluxe Dining Plan. Itinerary Planning got all of the ADRs I wanted plus they got us FPs for Fantasmic! (since they couldn't get the Fantasmic Dining Pkg for us), 2 boats for Illuminations Cruise, and Wishes Dessert Party. Was the easiest thing I have done with this trip. Now some of the ADRs are for multiple tables with the possibility of seating together but they did manage to get others with us seated at one ADR. I can't say enough about the help from the YC. Terrific! We did miss the 180 day out by 20+ days also.

It can be done!

We just did Christmastime with 17. Most reservations had to be two or three. Sometimes the times were a few minutes off. We had 3 breakfast reservations at Hollywood and Dine and they put us in a long line which was nice. Tony's put us all at the same table even though we had three reservations. It killed me that Chef Mickey's and Hoop Dee Doo were all the same reservations (17) but weren't at the same table. We also weren't together at Via Napoli or Le Cellier. We took one night where each individual family ate together wherever they wanted to reserve.

We are a party of 16 going in May. I made a list of the restaurants we were interested in and called Disney Dining and inquired about them prior to the 180 day mark. The CM was extremely helpful and gave me pointers as well as the best way to make the ADR's.
