we just finished up a cruise on the Disney Magic. Last year we did a cruise on the Disney Dream. I asked my kids (girl 6, boy 8) to give me their observations and preferences. I was surprised with what they said.
  • Dream had a better kids club...much bigger.
  • "Yellow slide" on the magic was alot of fun, but the aquaduck was better
  • Castaway Cay was more fun on the magic...no crowds
  • Stateroom TV on the Dream was better (magic doesnt have on-demand programming)
  • Kids club bands from Dream unlock items on Disney Infinity. Bands from the Magic dont.
  • Shows on the Magic were better (I disagreed)
  • Deck party on the Dream was better, fireworks too
  • Top bunk on the dream showed stars on the ceiling, magic does not.
  • Formal dinners on the Magic were boring, on the Dream they could talk to crush.
I was surprised to see what they remembered and what they felt were more important. We will likely sail on the Fantasy next year based on this feedback.

From my perspective, i have always liked newer, bigger ships when I cruise. I felt that Magic had everything Dream has, only on a smaller scale. And the Tons of extra room at Castaway and checkin was apparent.

it worked for Disney Infinity 2.0, but were told the "blue" bands on the magic dont work for 3.0. We tried it when we got home anyway and it doesnt unlock anything. Not Even recognized by infinity.
