I have Seasons 1-3 of Big Bang Theory on DVD, when I was snowed in the other day I did a BBT marathon and couldn't believe all the Disney references. I knew they did them, but when you watch them one after another you notice how many Disney references there are. It's not an ABC show, so I'm curious where the references come from. Is one of the writers a Disney fan? One of the actors? Anyone know?

I still remember the episode - The Large Hadron Collision, where Leonard gave Penny clues about what they were going to do on Valentine's Day. (Milk chocolate and Swiss Cheese Fondue)

Her first guess going to Disneyland to ride the Matterhorn and her second guess was going to Disney World to ride the Matterhorn.

Mentally I was like "Would that be the non-existant Matterhorn because there isn't one at Disney World?" :headache:

See the clip here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mL9XeopaOTY

BTW, I did a quick google of the shows creator - Chuck Lorre. Not sure if you ever noticed the vanity cards at the end of each ep, but this one might help explain. http://www.chucklorre.com/index-2hm.php?p=115

Basically he has a long track record with ABC - Dharma and Greg being one of many shows he was involved with. He is also apparently a Disney stock holder. I'm guessing if he's using the same pool of writers they also have ABC experience.

Interesting!

I know the episode about the Matterhorn, 3 seconds after it was over my niece called me and asked where the Matterhorn at Disney World is! :rotfl:

You just have to take the top secret special monorail :tinker: to a place called California.

Catching up on this week's is making me laugh terribly so. Poor Sheldon and his teaching. "But I'm the one with something interesting to say!" :rotfl: If only it were so easy!

I love this show (though not as impressed with the current season)! During one episode, Penny takes Sheldon to Disneyland offscreen. Leonard gives her various tips such as making sure Sheldon doesn't eat his churro until after they ride Space Mountain and to avoid Goofy because Sheldon has an irrational fear of him.

I agree there are a lot of Disney references! But maybe I'm just listening for them.

I think my favorite was when Sheldon "ran away" home to Texas, and the boys went to retrieve him. Howard dressed up like a ridiculous turtlenecked cowboy with a big hat and the following conversation ensued:

Leonard: And take off that hat. You look ridiculous.
Howard: I want to blend in.
Raj: Blend into what? Toy Story?
