We're heading to WDW towards the end of May 2011. DH would like to try Biergarten (either lunch or dinner he's not picky). Wondering if we'd need to make an ADR or could we just walk-up and ask to be seated?

I can't say for sure but I have been successful at getting in their with a parties of 1, 2, and 3 in April and May without reservations.

we tried to get in for a dinner last year and they were booked ....We didnt go at a really heavy traffic time either.....I think if you want to go make a reservation and then relax ....We enjoy the buffet and the entertainment at night.......
Have a good time

Often they can get walkups in but why chance it? This is one place you can usually wait til the last few days to make an ADR and get something. When you have a good idea of what park what day, make an ADR. If you are intent on not making one, program 407WDWDINE into your cell and call day before or even morning of to see what you can get.

Well, check the online ADR system. If you see that lots of time slots are available, you may be able to take your chances. But if only a few (or none) are available, then you probably should make an ADR. Keep checking as it gets closer.

I would make adr, even though i been there and walked up, the food is so yummy, the decorations inside, and the entertainment are awesome, if you like the German thing, it will make ya wanna pick up your beer stein, and rock..now they seat you with strangers if its just a few of you! :O)

I would make the ADR! My family goes there once a year...we love it and everytime we go , for dinner, it always seems very busy! It seems like you would need an ADR just to be safe...I think that is true for most World showcase reataurants! We were seated with a family who just got into WDW from Germany that night! It was their first night and they went straight to Biergarten! One of my sons speaks some German and they spoke some English so it worked out really great...they said the food was very authentic and they told us stories of Germany and we all loved the show and of course the ice cold German beers!! I can't wait to go back this May! Call for your ADR so you won't miss out on the wonderful food and show! Enjoy

I would make the ADR. We went there Christmas week and saw a couple of people try to walk in and they were totally booked. The funny thing was I made my reservation only a week before and there seemed to be plenty of availabilty but it was packed when we checked in. If you know you want to go dont take the chance.

Yes, you do need one. We had a friend of the family (he's my son's best friend and brought his girlfriend to Disney World for the day) NOT make reservations on Friday, November 5, 2010 and they could not get in without a long wait. Now, that was during the Food and Wine Festival, it was a Friday night but they were two people and would have had to wait two hours.

Can you get in? Sure but you would probably have to wait. Why even bother? If you can get in, just make the reservation and be done with it.

thanks everyone ... I think if we decide we want to go, we'll try and make an ADR for the next day or so, and if there isn't a slot available no biggie.
