Biergarten or Via Napoli?

I currently have a reservation for 6 (DH, myself, dd3, my sister and my parents) for dinner @ Biergarten. I'm second guessing myself and wondering if we should switch to Via Napoli.

The atmosphere at Biergarten looks so much fun but I think the menu at Via Napoli might be a safer bet (though no one in my party is a particularly picky eater).

Thoughts?

Via is my fave restaurant, the food is phenominal. Love their candele pasta dish and their pizza (both quattro fromaggi and pepperoni are awesome!).

However, Biergarten would be fun for your family. Your DD3 might enjoy the band. Although the food is good, I still prefer the food at Via Napoli.

I think you should stick with your plans. As the above poster stated, the 3 year old will most likely be entertained by the band and that means much less stress on y'all trying to keep her entertained while you eat. Both are good places. If you want to try Via Napoli as well, make an additional ADR and pay OOP if on the dining plan

We were just at Biergarten last week and if I were to compare I would pick Via hands down. The show at Biergarten is fun, it's family style so it was great to sit with another family, the food was just ok. However, it is all subjective and the family we sat with has German roots and said the food was amazing and so authentic they just loved it. For them it falls into the must do category when the go to Epcot. We prefer Italian or French food, so we love Via and I would recommend it. Have fun!

I'm from NY, so I get really good pizza all the time. We went to Biergarten last month and loved it! The food was good: Roasted chicken, cold salads, veggies, mac and cheese, soup, breads, good desserts, the beer was excellent and the atmosphere was super fun! We were even at a table with strangers and had a blast.

Pizza is always good...but Biergarten is one of those really well themed "Disney" restaurants, ya know?

Biergarten, Hands down...... Great German food, nothing overly spicy or odd, most people will enjoy it! Theming excellent and the show great fun!

There is good Italian food on most street corners in America, try something new! We go almost every trip!

Thanks everyone... We are a family that values theming over food (as long as the food is decent) so I think we will stick with Biergarten. Much appreciated !

We didn't care for the food at Via Napoli, but our family LOVES Biergarten so I wouldn't change your plans. It's a fun atmosphere with great entertainment and lots of food options that are always very good. It's a must do for us every trip.

Biergarten is fun. It's a good place for families and the atmosphere is so cool. I'll admit, not a huge fan of the food. I've never had a bad meal there but, IMO, you're paying for the atmosphere more than the food. It'll depend on what you want out of the experience, I think.

I'll pile on for Biergarten. It's more entertaining for kids. They aren't stuck at a table. They can get up and dance and watch the show. I enjoyed Via Napoli and thought the service was very good but there's nothing there to really grab kids' interest. Plus, I worry they might find the authentic pizza to be too different from what they are used to.

Completely agree. Via Napoli is forgetful in food and atmosphere.

Biergarten gets my vote as well. Better food, better service, better atmosphere - always an enjoyable meal for us.

We love the pizza at Via. However…it’s pizza. No show.

Biergarten has some fun stuff on the menu that you can’t just call up and get delivered at home, and their show is so much fun! I would say Biergarten..

Biergarten was amazing and the theming was unbelievable! We loved it! My girls' favorite was the potato dumplings.

Via Napoli was my wife's favorite meal at Disney during our last trip and we do a lot of table service. Kids (then 5 and 7) liked the show at Biergarten as did I, but make sure you time your reservation well (search and you will find estimated show times). The problem with Biergarten is that I ate like a king and tried lots of stuff, but my wife and daughter ate very little and it is super expensive for 2 of 4 to not really find much to eat at that buffet. I don't do the dining plan because I have priced it out and realized I spend less paying out of pocket and get more table service meals without the DDP, I mention this not to debate DDP or not, but to say if paying out of pocket I would eat elsewhere for the price. If on DDP, since it is still a single table service credit, go for it. Picky eaters can fill up on pretzel rolls. Enjoy the show. That said, I think our whole family would pick Via Napoli over Biergarten every day of the week. No show, but amazing food. So good.

My kids loved Biergarten and we think it'll be a must-do every trip. We loved the theming, the dancing, the food (I'm a 1/4 German and my husband is Eastern European and our kids are very familiar with this style of food), everything. It was a lot of fun.

I love them both.

Do be aware that Biergarten is communal seating - meaning you will be seated with another party. That is a deal breaker for some people.
