I love this restaurant and love talking about it! Just curious as to what your single, favorite food item is (dessert or main course.)
My vote goes to the roast pork!

spaetzle with gravy! I love that stuff, I really should learn how to make it myself LOL Tried once and it was a big flop. I love the sauerbraten too but we usually go for lunch and they don't serve it then.

We just spent two glorious weeks in WDW and ate here every time we were visiting epcot. LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

My fav - like stimpy - is the spaetzel with that gravy.

DS's (age 8) fav - the chicken schnitzel.

DH's fav - all of the sausages!!!

If we had to pick a family fav - one all of us can agree on - it would certainly be the fresh pretzels and hearty mustard. Oh my!!!

As a sidenote: We love the people we meet while sitting at the large tables. We met a wonderful man and his grand nephew who are locals with FAPs. They come to the Biergarten about every week to week and a half. All the wait staff know them by name and make a big deal over them coming back. Great People!

Don't you hate when you read bad things about this place?!! Loriandmatt...I forgot about the chicken schnitzel...that is good stuff!
And Stimpy...(a fellow Long Islander!)...spaetzle is hard to make! We're German, but my grandmother stuck to sauerbraten and dumplings! They have the boxed spaetzle mix, but it's pretty crummy!

I've been perusing the menus lately and we're DEFINITELY going to try Biergarten on this trip for the first time. It's the only one that had the MOST lowcarb items on the menu. LOL I hope after this trip we have only good things to report about it- I'm looking forward to eating there!
(ps. we don't mind sitting with others on big tables either- I think that's the way this restaurant is? Wouldn't bother us a bit. :) )

My favourite would have to be the chicken schnitzel. DS (9 on our last visit) is very picky, but he thought the rolls were amazing (I know, not your typical pick).

Hey I love the pretzel rolls. I thought of naming them as my fav but thought it seemed a bit strange with all the wonderful food they have. Hummm I guess the apple strudel is my fav followed closely by the bread, potato dumpling and the sauerbraten.

Glad to see this post. We leave for WDW in a week and I think we'll add the Biergarten to our itinerary for lunch. We are moving to Germany (with the Army) in 8 months and this will be a great way to celebrate our much wanted assignment.

hubby always has his cheesecake and vanilla sauce first.......then he eats his meal......I love all of it....I am sitting here trying to figure out what my favorite is.......well ......all of it...and then for dessert is the apple strudel with the vanilla sauce.......this is out of site.....I am now craving for some good german food with apple strudel

Tried the boxed spaetzel, it didn't go over to well here! Both my grandmother and great grandmother are from Germany and I don't remember them ever making it. (The Black Forest Brewery in Farmingdale makes it pretty good, if you're interested :) )

We were going to skip the Biergarten this trip since we'll be there for only 3 days (cruising the rest of the vacation). But after all this talk of the food, I'll have to try to sneak it in! I'll have to play up the pregnany cravings ;)

My favorite item at Biergarten is sadly no longer served. From '94-'99, they had a wonderful dessert called(English name) BeeStingCake. The German name was something like Bieckensteich.

are PS's a good idea for Biergarten? Which meal do you like better, lunch or dinner? Thanks!

Needing a PS depends on when you go. I'd suggest getting one, even if you wait until the day you want to eat there. Now of course if it is peak season you'd want to get one way ahead of time. I would pick dinner over lunch. The show is larger at lunch and there are a few more food choices too.

We also love Biergarten! We eat dinner there once every trip. My favorite (as strange as it may seem) is chicken noodle soup. Very Good! We are German also. We have roast pork and spaetzel as our dinner every Sunday evening and spaetzel is not hard to make at all. Flour, eggs, seltzer and salt, a strong hand for mixing (thank you DH) press it through the "spaetzel press" and it's done. The hardest part is cleaning up;) We always had PS's.

Sha_lyn, yes, this looks just like what I had. Thanks so much for the recipe!

glad Icould help. It sound like a great cake. I'll have to make one.

A few of the German meals, such as chicken schnitzel, and Spatzel? We have never eaten at this restaurant before, maybe
if we knew what some of the more popular dishes were that
would help. Are deserts and sodas included with the meal here,
is there certain times to get there for the dinner shows? Sorry
so many questions

It's an all you can eat buffet. Desserts are included, drinks are not. They have a lot of different kind of sausages, roast pork, different kinds of salads(many with a vinegary base), sauerkraut, chicken schnitzel which is like a breaded chicken cutlet but better :)

Spaetzel is a kind of german pasta, it's hard to describe. They also have really good desserts like black forest cake, apple strudel (my fave). Dinnertime I think includes sauerbraten, but we haven't been there for dinner in a while. We usually go for lunch, they have a short show with an oompah band. Dinner show is longer and has dancers. (although when we take DS for lunch he drags one of us on the dance floor with him during lunch too  )
