Biergarten--love it or hate it?

Trying to make a list of "must-sees & dos" while on our anniversary trip. I have never been to Biergarten in Epcot Germany because I really do not like sauerkraut or sausage. But I think my DH would like it. Would a non-beef eating, somewhat picky eater like it? I really like the atmosphere but don't want to just sit and watch my DH eat because I don't like the food.

Theres a menu you can check out on www.allearsnet.com. There is a pretty good selection and entertaining floor show to see if you go at or around a show time.

We enjoyed it. There was chicken and pork in addition to beef. Spaetzle - which I adore. Red cabbage and beets. But the food is pretty German - lots of vinegar in the flavors - not everyone believes red cabbage or beets are meant to be eaten. And potatos and spaetzle is a lot of starch. Being a buffet - you are going to need to pay even if you discover you don't like the food - so you may be better off going to one of Epcots other restaurants. And the tables are "shared" - sitting with strangers can be enjoyable, but isn't what most people look for in anniversary trips. Have your hubby get his German at Sommerfest for lunch.

The atmosphere is great, especially dancing with the German band, but the food was a major disappointment for us.

You never know, though.....I have tried restaurants that have gotten bad reviews from posters here, and have had great experiences.

We loved it- it was my DH's favorite. And even better, my two boys were completely entertained!

LOVE IT! But, I guess you need to like German food to really appreciate it. Bring on the cabbage!

We love it. We don't go every time we're in Disney, but when we do, we do enjoy it. Cold steins of Beck's beer, good variety of food, and a great dining atmosphere with a show. Not bad!

We LOVE it!! There is a large selection of food and there were at least 2 chicken choices when we were there last week. I also like their salad bar choices. If you want to go for your DH, I don't think you will go hungry. The desserts are really good too.
