Biergarten in Germany? Should we eat here? or another country?

H O W I S B I E R G A R T E N ??? WHERE ELSE COULD WE EAT?
It's our 1st night to ever be in EPCOT at night

We were planning on Le Cellier, but after reviewing the menu and adding up the what the entire dinner would cost, it would be close to $85.00!!!!

The max I'd spend is $50, and that's pushing it....

1. Did you ever try BIERGARTEN?
2. How is the food there? I don't like veal or pork, picky eater.
3. Are there private tables or do u have to sit w/ strangers?


Can you recommend another COUNTRY in which to eat dinner in ?

WE WOULD LIKE A CHEAP $24.99 PER PERSON DEAL THAT INCLUDES EVERYTHING ***** available in the countries??

We are sort of bias here as the Biergarden is one of our favorite places at WDW. We usually go for lunch and then walk it off by making the remaining trek around the world showcase back to the front of the park.

The food is excellent, and lots of it. If you are not into Veal or Pork the try the chicken schnitzel (just like fried chicken breast) and rotissarie chicken (and usually a fish choice). If you are going for dinner there is also Sauerbrauten (maranaded beef). There is also spatzel (german noodles), assorted salads, sauerkraut, and pretzel rolls. You can't leave without having the apple strudel with vanilla sauce and black forest cake.

The entertainment is also good with the alpine horns and octoberfest band.

We tried this for the very first time this past Nov. and I have to say it was very good. My DH has always wanted to try this so I made PS's as a surprise for him. It was also a BIG HIT with our friends that went with us.

I love the entertainment at Biergarten, but I really didn't like the food. I thought I liked German food, but as it turnes out, UH NO!!!

we ate at Biergarten last trip and it was very good. there was pork, chicken, sausages, these yummy bar cookies, salad ,veggies, these yummy bar cookies and lots of other stuff i can't remember... did I mention the yummy bar cookies? you sit with a bunch of others but it wasn't as bad as I anticipated, one couple didn't have much to say, another we just small talked with but it was ok, the floor show was ok to but pretty short , at least at lunch. we would go again. it's a buffet btw..

also try lunches for the big meal at epcot when it's cheaper, we went to le cellier for lunch ( got the steak, samon patty appe. and choc. bread pudding yummy all)with the vouchers so we spent 30 plus tip and had plenty to eat by spliting one voucher for 2 people. we just sample different countries' counters for dinner then which we enjoy doing.

Why not eat at one of the walk up areas in the countries...the sitdowns tend to be a bit pricey. The food is just as good in the walk up areas.

Mexico, Germany, Japan, China, Morroco, all excellent walk up choices. Then the bakeries in France/Norway..yummy.

I love the Biergarten and the whole Germany pavillian, because I studied German in school and visited there twice with my class. However, just like I got sick from the food both times in Germany, I got sick at the Biergarten. It was a fun experience, but left my tummy hurting. So since your a picky eater like me, I'd try something else.

We really enjoyed Biergarten-have gone there for lunch the last 3 trips. DH lived in Germany for 9 months, and thought Biergarten brings back fond memories. The food is good, experience enjoyable. Next trip, though, we're going to try one of the other WS resturaunts, just for a change.

The Biergarten has something for everyone, and I thought the food was very good. We loved the entertainment. You can have other people at your table...it is reminesent of the long tables in the Hofbrauhaus and other beer halls in Munchen (I graduated from school in Munich). I wouldn't be shy of trying it.

This is off-topic, but funny. We learned in high school about how in German restuarants they share tables, and its no big deal. So when we went on our trip to Germany and ate at a crowded McDonalds, we looked for places to sit. The only free spot was these 2 people sitting at the end of a 8 seater table. So we joined them. They looked at us really wierd, got up, and left. Apparantly its not the norm we thought it was.

My advice would be to have a nice late lunch there. The food is wonderful and it is cheaper for lunch. You do have to sit with others but it is fun. Everyone is usually happy to be there and in a vacation sort of mood. The music is fun too. I think you will be pleased as long as you like chicken (there is lots of it)

Reserve the latest lunch seating at Germany and then a few hours later choose the country that most appeals to you and order some "fast food". Mexico has a fabulous walk up stand with tables on the water. If you time it right you could have some snacks and drinks and watch illuminations.

We LOVED our recent trip to the Biergarten. We ate early--so it was not very crowded. The them and atmosphere was great--I spent several years of my life in Germany, and it was pretty authentic.

You do sit at big tables with others--but after getting over the first few seconds of "weirdness" at sitting with strangers--it was cool to talk with other folks and enjoy the environment.

Don't over look the salads--they are wonderful--especially the German cucumber salad.

The only thing I was not impressed with was there dessert. Their Apple Stuedel was not great or fresh--and not up to par with what we had in Germany. Don't save much room for dessert there--go crazy with all the other great food!!!

you must have missed the butter cookies with the jam filling that I can not remember the name of however other than that the desserts were not memorable! but that just left me with more room for the cookies that if i had been less honest, I would have lined my pockets with for a little tidbit later! the bread was good too. I just wish it wasn't a buffet cause I can never have room to sample what looks good and either end up stuffed or disappointed I couldn't try it all which is why we rarely go to buffets
