Hi there! My family and I just got back from the World. DH-foodie, DMother-in-law-not so much of a foodie, but still likes to eat, although in smaller portions than DH and myself!, DD4-foodie in training, DS1.5-allergic to dairy and super picky.

We were there 2/2-2/9.

While waiting for our room to be ready, we had lunch at the Kona Cafe. Not bad at all, DD and DS split the fish kid's meal and enjoyed it. I had the sandwich with fried onions, DH had the club (? I think) and MIL had a salad. The sweet potato chips were yummy!

First night there we ate at Biergarten. We had a blast and the food was pretty good. I didn't get to try as much as I would have liked as my son was being a BIT demanding. Ah, 18 month olds, so much fun. Anyway, he loved the macaroni salad. I loved the German potato salad. My DH loved the giant beer. :rotfl:

Second night I alone took the two kids to Crystal Palace so DH and DMIL could go watch the Super Bowl (sad for them since they are Patriots fans). WHAT was I thinking taking to small children to a BUFFET alone?! Anyway, food was surprisingly good. I didn't have high expectations, was just going for the charatcters. Which my son wanted to see desperately until they were closer than three feet. EVERY TIME. Anyway, DD loved the pasta. The roast turkey from the carving area was unexpectedly really good.

Monday night we ate at Ohana, once again a little bit less exciting for me since DS was getting sick and needed my attention. It was also a bit disappointing since we were stuck way in the back. Not that it mattered because they didn't seem to be doing anything in the way of entertainment, no singing or coconut races, what's up with that? :confused3 Food was still really good and our waiter was entertaining. Love those scalloped potatoes. The sauces for dipping the meat in were really excellent. Of course, the dessert is to DIE for.

Tuesday morning we ate at Cinderella's Castle for breakfast. Once again I wasn't expecting anything great, just going for the Princesses, but the food was actually quite good. The service was REALLY great. They made special eggs for my son since he can't have milk or butter. We also asked for some extra blueberries, and the waiter brought a heaping plate of them (and a cup to take them with us).

Wednesday we went to my new favorite, BOMA! LOVED this place! The food was great, I cannot recommend Boma enough. Our waiter was really great, too. We talked with him a bit about Morocco (where he was from) and the authenticity of the food (which he said was pretty authentic) and African beer. Zebra domes, of course, were awesome. But I loved almost everything I ate. The bobotie was great (just found the recipe here, may try to make it). DD tried a bunch of stuff, said she liked it, but wound up eating the pasta. DMIL and DS stayed at the hotel (tired). Anyway, Boma - :thumbsup2

Thursday night we ate at the Coral Reef. The whole reason we went there was for the kids to check out the aquarium. Wouldn't you know it? They were more interested in coloring. :headache: I need a money flying out the window smilie. Food was okay, but not really worth the price tag. Although DS did really like the Israeli cous cous that came with my mahi mahi. DH and DMIL liked the crab legs, although felt they were hungry still.

Altogether, we had a great time and great food. I will say that Disney is GREAT about allergies. They always had soy milk for my DS and usually gave us extra to take with us. They were always very understanding and even came to clarify what he could or couldn't have. :thumbsup2

Well, thanks for reading!

I also ate at Biergarten, Crystal Palace and Boma. Now CP is on my must do list everytime i LOVE THERE BUFFET, THE PEEL AND EAT SHRIMP ARE GREAT i ALWAYS TRY A LITTLE OF LOTS AND THEN GO BACK FOR MORE OF MY FAVORITES. Couscous is not something I will eat again I have tried it many times and just don't like it Biergarten was awesome the carved pork was out of this worldas were the sausages qans I believe the schnitzel . I am not a choc. cake fan but the bleck forest cake is awesome. I tried Boma and while service was great and Icertainly found enough to eat I didn't like a lot of things I did like the fafalel(little meatballs) and all of the Hummus was great as were the Zebra domes. I say everyone should try it. I would go back if with someone who wanted too but not with the picky family !! All 3 places got A's for service . Thanks for sharing your dining experiences I enjoyed them!!
