My Dad saw this and thought it would be fun...What are your expert opinions on the lunch buffet? Is it true your drinks and dessert are not included in the price?
How is the food? Is there really some entertainment?

Please fill me in with any info as I know absolutely nothing about this buffet!

Thanks

I'll be curious to see the responses you get to this too, as we're also trying it for the first time.

We went in May. We were a group of 10 -- 7 adults, and 3 children under 7.

RAVE REVIEWS from all. Food was awesome -- great variety and super tasty. Even stuff for the kids to eat, and wonderful desserts on the buffet, also.

Can't recall about the drinks, as I did not pay the bill. Something tells me they were not included, though. We all concurred, though, that it was very reasonably priced for what you got, though.

Entertainment at dinner is very fun. Two guys playing a host of german instruments and cracking jokes and such. At one point, children are invited down onto the floor for dancing. Ours went, and had a grand time!

Our PS was for 7:15. We timed it right so we basically walked out the door and had a great view of Illuminations, too.

It was just wonderful -- you'll love it!

We love it. In Feb we took some friends who had spent time in Germany and it was very realistic. We'd go again!

We've eaten there for lunch. DH's absolute favorite, must do (he spent a semester in college living over in Germany and finds this pretty authentic). I really enjoy it. DS, in his mid-20's, didn't enjoy the German beer. Desserts on the buffet, many choices, and so they are included.

We loved it, even my daughter who is a picky eater found enough to make her happy. When the whole family goes next year it will be a must do again on our list.
I do not remember if the drinks were included or not, as my mother treated for that meal.

We ate at Biergarten many years ago when it was a menu based restaurant and we liked it a lot. We ate there again a couple weeks ago and found it to be okay but not outstanding. The entertainment was still fun but the food was only passable. Most food doesn't do well on buffett steamers and that is the case here too. Drinks were not included but dessert was. I think the price was about $15-$18 for lunch. If you want to come in out of the heat for a sit down, all you can eat, lunch and really enjoy oompah music it's great. But if you're going for great food it doesn't quite match up to some of the other epcot eateries.

Biergarten is our favorite. We usually go for lunch but its the same as dinner only a little cheaper. Drinks are NOT included but dessert is. The musical entertainment is fun. We have always been able to walk in without a reservation. You are seated with other guests which is also fun. Most of the people we have been seated with were repeat visitors as well.

There are only minor menu differences between Lunch and Dinner, so if you're on a budget you'll probably want to visit for lunch. It's one of my favorites.

We go to the Biergarten for lunch each visit. We lived in Germany 3 years and eating there is a must for us. The food is great and we love to talk to the German CM's. They love to talk about home with us. We always get PS for the time during the lunch entertainment because it reminds us of the winefests on the Mosel River near our old home.

What time would that be?

We have gone in Nov. the first show was at noon then when World Showcase changed to opening later the first show was moved back to 1pm. I will need to find out when the first show starts this year so I can make my PS then.

It is important to know the showtimes. Its not a constant show, I think the breaks are 45 monutes to an hour. Real easy to start and finish a meal with no entertainment. I have done it and felt slighted.

The food is good, not my favorite place to eat, but real good. The entertainent really makes this a favorite place. We don't get there often enough because I have never gotten around to synchronizing my PS with the show times.
