Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique --- GOTTA GO!

So I am a little behind writing about our trip. We got home one week ago, after spending 5 nights at ASMo. (UGH! That was a long trip to get anywhere!)

DH treated DD4 and I to make-overs at the Boutique and we had a GREAT time! My only complaint ---- super, super crowded with folks trying to get a walk-in appointment. They were booked solid and some people were getting a little rude. We each had our own Fairy-Godmother-In-Training to do our hair and make-up. DD got the deluxe make-over with costume and photo session ... she loved it and spent the rest of the day telling people in lines all about it.

I opted for the Pop Princess hairdo, which I would not get again. It had some wild, rainbow-colored hair extensions in it ... I kinda wished I would have gotten the Fairytale Princess hairdo like DD. Next time I definitely will do that.

Her package cost $179, but each item is rang up individually. IE, you go pick out the dress, the shoes, etc., and they are rang up separately. My problem with this is that the Fairytale Princess hairdo includes a tiara. Then, they had DD pick out another, larger Cinderella tiara, which she decided to take off. I didn't realize this until we left. That was wasted money.

We wore our BBB sashes that day and got lots of questions. If you can afford it, I would definitely recommend this for any Princess-loving little girl.

(They said boys can get a do-over as well, but I never actually saw anyone doing that!)

I am so behind because school started on Monday. I am a HS teacher and am in grad school. One of these days I will finish and post our make-over movie. I am concentrating on technology in my Master's program and learning to write HTML ---- I'm trying to create a Mickey Mouse transition frame to use in the video. We'll see!!!

It's amazing how people don't know that you should make reservations for this, also ADR's for your favorite resturant. It is sad though that reservations have to be made, maybe a policy should be made that there should be at least 2 openings an hour left open for walk-ups. Believe it not,, many have no idea's about web pages such as the DIS. Many rely on their Travel Agaent to inform them of these extra's.

I disagree, you should do your homework when planning a trip like this, and I don't think that ppl who did their research and found out about the extras on their own should be told they can't book because Disney is holding out for walk in's who didn't plan.

Thanks for the report, I have my 2 little princesses booked in September and I think they will love it! My son and Daddy will be going to Disneyquest at that time, they have no patience for all that "princessy girly stuff"!

I also agree that it is too bad about the walk ups...I can't imagine spending $6000 on a vacation and not making reservations to eat, or for activities...or even finding out if you have to or not...if walk ups don't get served, I really don't feel bad for them.

Thanks for thre Bibbidi report . I am taking my daughter for her makeover in December and then, the same day, to the castle for dinner. I am very excited about it, hopefully it will be a lovely day for her.

I feel badly for people who don't plan ahead. Most first time visitors to WDW don't even realize how vital pre-planning is. The first time I went as an adult I did not make a lot of plans because I did not know about it. The second time, well, my family began to call me the "tour guide" but they thanked me at the end for a great vacation.

We were at the Boutique last week and my daughter wanted to be made up in the worst way right on the spot. I do live vicariously through my daughter but they looked really busy so we told her it would have to be another trip. We are going back for Halloween so I called and made her appointment for Halloween and then we will head over to the Magic Kingdom for trick or treating. I am so excited!!!! mostly because now I don't have to pack her a halloween costume because they are doing it all for her. I am so glad I have a video camera

Great planning!!! We went to the castle for lunch right after the makeover and it was perfect! I just got our 'freebie' photo in the mail today. For our package we got the family photo with everyone and then I ordered the free 5X7 of DD with Cinderella. They llok SOOOO cute together! (Of course, I am a bit biased, so maybe it's not as cute as I think!)

I can't wait to see my little princesses made up. ( I am going to have them wear their own halloween costumes, it seems that buying all the costume stuff there would throw my husband over the edge!).

A few quick questions
1) How long was your wait?
2) How long did the hair, makeup and nails take?
3) Do they do the hair like certain princess (one dd is going as Snow White and the other as Princess Jasmine.) They would like to try to get hair to look like "their" princess.
4) What is there to do nearby for ds (7) , ds (3) and dh ? They love Pirates.

Just an FYI...they also have a Cool Dude packagae for the little prince's in your families. Just had my 3yo son there on 8/21 and it was great. They spiked and painted his hair with Mickey's and I can't tell you the amount of people who stopped him at Chef Mickey's and MK that night to tell him how awesome he looked. It made his day!!
The total was $10.00 and was worth every cent.
Another fyi...they do not accept tips at the boutique. I tried b/c our stylist, Melanie, was great but she couldn't take it.

1) We waited a couple minutes but we were early. I'd say we were taken in pretty close to our appt. time.

2) It takes about 30 minutes for everything. I got DD the stick-on nails, but you can have them painted. I think that might add a little time to let them dry.

3) There are 3 hairstyles to choose from: Fairytale princess (with a tiara), Pop princess (with purple or rainbow hairpiece that has braids and mickey's in it), and Diva princess, which is a long hairstyle that they add extensions in. Bad descriptions, I know, but the Fairytale princess is my favorite. When I post photos you'll be able to see better! (I know, get on the ball, Rebecca!)

4) The boutique is in the back of World of Disney store in DTD. My DH and DS2 went to the nearby Lego store and played at the play area there.
