Hi ,
Our appointment at BBB is at 8:30 AM and we will be going for their castle package. DL Park opens at 8 AM and closes at 12 AM on that day. Can you suggest how should we do plan our day..and first visit to DL? What time should we report ? Anything we can do before our appointment ? Toontown to see Mickey Minnie and their houses, Jungle cruise , Nemo , and other rides that family can ride is what we are thinking to do. Also , does princess dress/ makeover affects going on rides in anyway ? Will they ask to remove shoes before measuring height for the rides that needs it ?

Apologies for so many questions but this is our first and most likely the last DL trip for long time so want to ensure that we have enough info at hand before we enter the park.

Thanks !

Our granddaughter was a tall five year old when we took her to BBB. she came dressed as Cinderella and had a fabulous time. Her fairy godmother made her feel so special. We had a 9:00am appointment and spent our time in Fantasyland. We rode PP, Dumbo, Pinnochio, the carousel, Alice and Teacups I think before her appointment.

We had photo pass plus and at that time included shots with a Disney photographer. All day long through the park cast members and other guests were so sweet to her greeting our little miss Cinderella. She had no problem on any rides and no taking off shoes and measuring.

Her makeover was so special. Have a wonderful time with your little one.

Hi!

How far out is your trip? If possible, you might want to push back your BBB appointment until 9:30 or so - you'll be missing a lot of prime ride time with low waits by doing it at 8:30. Just a thought if it's possible for you!

Toontown doesn't open until an hour after the rest of the park. In your case with an 8:30 appointment, I'd just focus on the Fantasyland rides for the first 30 minutes until your appointment - maybe Alice, Dumbo, something like Casey Jr... then you're already right by the castle.

They don't generally make kids take off shoes to check height (if a girl has actual heels on, sometimes they do). The makeover doesn't affect anything with the rides.

Definitely think about doing photopass. I would plan on getting some great pictures of your princess after her BBB experience before there is any chance of mishaps with her hair or costume. Go to the hall to get the princess photos. Do you know which outfit she might pick? Try to get a photo of her with that princess. My DD still loves looking at the photos where she met the princesses but her favorite is when she was wearing the same dress as the princess. The photopass photographers can get really amazing photos and add the fun magic shots like her holding Tinkerbell. Different ones can have different shots too so you can ask who they have. Would you want to do a character breakfast? That can be fun and you'd get lots of character photos too with her dressed up without having to go and find them. If it's possibly the one big Disneyland experience I'd see what she's interested in and try to do that. Also consider what you want to do. Is one of the shows important to you or her? Would it be worth park hopping to meet Anna & Elsa? Or watch the Frozen play? Or ride Cars? Do you want to do a dinner package to get a better view of Fantasmic? Or maybe you want to stake out a spot for the Fireworks at the Castle? If you're going to keep her up extra late consider if you want to try and take a break in the afternoon to rest. You could go to your hotel or plan on taking a long lunch. The shows and train are a great relaxing option too. Or consider if she might enjoy staking out your fireworks spot and resting before it starts. Have a wonderful time!

I would second the idea of moving your BBB appointment to 9:30 or even 10:00 so you don't miss out on the most magical low-crowd part of the day! Keep in mind that Toontown won't open until one hour after the park opens. They do a fun little thing where some characters come out and open the gates. If you get there five or 10 minutes before they open Toontown you can walk directly to Minnie or Mickey's house to meet them with almost no wait. Minnie even came out last time and took some kids hands and they all walked to her house together. So cute. Also, I wouldn't plan on midday swimming after your BBB appointment. I read a trip report from a mom who made that mistake and tried to convince her daughter not to mess up her hair and makeup in the pool and it didn't go well!

One of the bloggers mentioned that the castle package no longer includes meeting the princesses (and maybe no pictures either? can't remember), so just be aware of that. I would maybe call and ask what it includes now. I say that b/c we've typically done the castle package primarily to get into the royal hall more quickly + a dress. For us, the price of the castle package would not be worth it as we would just buy a dress from the Disney store, do the 2nd tier package, and meet princesses ourselves for cheaper.

That said - whenever we've done it it hasn't affected rides or anything. Mostly it's just a chunk of park time you don't have, so get in and out as soon as you can. We do usually try to save most princess meet and greets for the day of BBB. However, they use so much spray that the hair usually stays a few days :)

Thank you bellessister! I have noted the rides you mentioned and will try to do those first if we are able to move our appointment at BBB. Good to know about the shoes while measuring. She is now about 38 without shoes..so hopefully with the shoes she can make it.

Thank you Skygirl1999, really appreciate it. I am going to call them and see if its possible to push back our appointment. We are not going to make her wear heels just for the measurement... if we cant do certain rides that's fine..but i think this BBB is going to be the highlight for her and us ..something to remember forever..

thank you Excitedmama ! I am quite sure that she will pick Cinderella's outfit :) The castle package includes photo session and an album to keep those photos.. We are not doing park hopper but i have planned to go to DCA in the afternoon on another day and will definitely ride Cars, watch frozen play, and WoC..etc. thanks for the suggestions :)

Thank you SOCALMouseMommy ! I will try to move our appoint to 9:30 or 10 if available. 8-9 in Fantasyland, 9-9:45 Toontown opening + walk to Mickey n Minnie's house sounds like a good plan.. now I only wish that they have availability for our time slot at BBB
