Bibbidi-Bobbidi-BOO and a few Disney Dresses too!~ A Sept ’13 TR

I have never seen the majesty makers...wonder if they have a set time they come out? Love seeing the new fantasyland...havent been there yet love seeing it on your report! :goodvibes

Looks like you are having a great day at MK so far! I love the CRT pictures! I'm glad you were able to use my picture of Cindy's mice! :)

You new trip plans sound wonderful!!!!

The Mike Cake Pop is awesome!!

That is way to precious about Marjorie asking Jorie for an autograph. That would have made me cry! Disney is the only vacation place that can make you feel that way!

Ok I just realized I said Marjorie instead of the girl asking Marjorie... I'm slightly crazy this morning.... Lol!! :)

The Little Mermaid ride is so fantastic! The music will just never get old, I love it all. Sooooo funny about Donovan wanting to be the blue lobster. :lmao: I would have been confused by that one as well!!

The girls are so cute enjoying their snacks. That chocolate covered pineapple kabob sounds like something I need in my life. :hyper: That is absolutely the sweetest thing ever that an older girl asked Jorie for her autograph!!! I'm sure that made her whole day. What a sweet thing for the other girl to do for little princesses. :lovestruc

Jorie looks precious in full princess mode driving a car. :thumbsup2

I'm pretty sure we had the mint green version of that same boom box! :) Haha!

Sounds like you had such a fun morning!

I definitely had the pink boom box as well, along with a matching caboodle.

I just read your entire trip report (to date) in one shot, and I wanted to let you know how much I love it. And the outfits are so creative and fantastic. Thanks for all your hard work, and I'm looking forward to the next!

We had gone in September as well! Unfortunately we arrived to early and were unable to participate in the fastpass+ :(

Joining in, I've loved reading your TR and your photos are just lovely!

What a lovely experience for Jorie to experience with that young girl, that one way to make a little princess feel like a true princess!!!
Your children are soo sweet, their costumes for the party are so adorable and unique, the girls dresses for BBB are lovely!
What a lovely idea to get Ariel to sign the photo frame for Bronwyn's bedroom!

:welcome: Yay! So glad that you're joining in!! Thanks for the lovely comments, you're so sweet :flower3:

What a fun update! My heart is melting hearing about that young lady making Jorie feel so special. Those pics of Jorie and Bronwyn sharing snacks are adorable too.

Storybook Circus was a surprise to me. I didn't expect to love it as much as I do. That gift shop is just great isn't it?

Too bad you skipped Ariel, but that's for next time. And you get to plan next time!!!! So excited for your next trip BTW!

That young lady melted my heart too! She made Jorie feel so special. :cloud9:

I was the same way. When I heard about the Storybook Circus/circus theme, I was like EH... but it was such a cute area! And yes, I loved that gift shop- I could have spent a lot more time and money there, haha.

I STILL can't believe that we skipped Ariel! I must not have been thinking clearly... the heat must have gone to my head. Definitely at the top of the list for next time. Thank you, I'm so excited to be planning a new trip!!!

No worries on the notes. I've never taken a note ever for a TR so I'm sure you'll be fine.

Haha it's kinda funny that sometimes having no line can suck a little when the queue is so well done. But you're right, it's still better than the alternative.

Aww that's actually kinda cute that Donovan wanted to be the Blue Lobster. Clearly a Non-Conformist you've got there.

Oh the Ursella animatronic is off the charts.

Ummmmm, yeah on the missed Ariel Meet and Greet. Been there, done that. :headache:

Oh Man, that close up photo of Dumbo is WICKED!!!

Awwwwwwww how sweet of that young girl to do that for your daughter. Just precious. :cutie:

Just worried that some of those little details are starting to slip away...

I know, I was bummed that I had to walk right past all of the queue awesomeness... but I quickly got over it once I was getting on the ride, haha!

I was like, is there really even a blue lobster in the movie? Donovan was like, "Yeah Mom, he plays the drums" he has a memory like an elephant.

At least the girls don't know any better... they would have been really upset knowing that we missed Ariel with her mermaid tail. I definitely won't forget next time!

Thanks, I love that pic! :dumbo:

The majesty makers are always so much fun to watch! We’ve usually seen them in passing but I wouldn’t mind stopping to watch a full set sometime soon!

Glad you guys went to pete’s slideshow, that’s seriously my new favorite place to hang out, especially later in the evening, there’s NO ONE back there at all and goofy and Donald are a blast to goof around with at that time!

Great dumbo pics!! How sweet that the girl stopped for a princess autograph!! That really is some fantastic pixie dust!

Loved the Majesty makers. We came upon them just as they were starting their set and no one else was around them yet. Just happened to be in the right place at the right time, I guess.

Loved Pete's Silly sideshow too! And actually we go back a couple days later because of course we have to meet Daisy & Minnie too.

Thanks, they were some of my favorite pics! :dumbo:

Such awesome pixie dust pixiedust: That girl really made Jorie feel so special!

I have never seen the majesty makers...wonder if they have a set time they come out? Love seeing the new fantasyland...havent been there yet love seeing it on your report! :goodvibes

I had never even heard of the majesty makers, and actually I had to look them up to find out their names. But they caught us as we were walking by and I'm so glad that we decided to stop. They put on a great little show. According to touringplans, it looks like they have showtimes all throughout the day: Shows at 9:30am, 9:45am, 10:35am, 11:25am, 11:50am, 12:45pm, 1:15pm, 2:05pm, 2:35pm, 3pm, and 3:30pm

Oh you are really going to love New Fantasyland on your next trip... the whole area is really amazing! Definitely some of our favorites spots in MK

Looks like you are having a great day at MK so far! I love the CRT pictures! I'm glad you were able to use my picture of Cindy's mice! :)

You new trip plans sound wonderful!!!!

I have so many great memories from that day in MK. I think starting off with BBB & CRT just set the tone for a magical day!

I'm so glad that you took that pic of Cinderella's mice since I didn't! My kids had gotten such a kick out of spotting them! Thanks again for letting me borrow it. ;)

Lol!! :)

haha, no worries! I mix up my kids' names all of the time!! :lmao:

It was such a sweet little moment and it almost did make me cry! Disney is just so magical!! It really brings out the best in people. pixiedust:

The Little Mermaid ride is so fantastic! The music will just never get old, I love it all. Sooooo funny about Donovan wanting to be the blue lobster. :lmao: I would have been confused by that one as well!!

Jorie looks precious in full princess mode driving a car. :thumbsup2

Love the Little Mermaid ride, can't wait to go on it again!! :cheer2:

Yup, that's my Donovan for ya... wanting to be the blue lobster from the Little Mermaid. And then he would act like we were the crazy ones for not knowing about the blue lobster. :rotfl2: I swear, he remembers every single detail of EVERYTHING!!! It's kinda scary.

Oh my, that chocolate covered pineapple was SO good!!

That little girl made Jorie feel like a true princess that day! It was so sweet! princess:

She had such a fun time driving that car... even if we were getting jerked back and forth like crazy. :drive:

I'm pretty sure we had the mint green version of that same boom box! :) Haha!

Sounds like you had such a fun morning!

hahaha that's awesome!! :cool1:

We had such a great morning!!

OMG, Caboodles!! I almost forgot about those! I totally just googled it and found a pic of mine :lmao:

Holy cow, you read the whole thing in one shot?! You rock!!! :rockband:

Welcome and thank you!! I love being able to share my trip with everyone.

We had gone in September as well! Unfortunately we arrived to early and were unable to participate in the fastpass+ :(

Oh that really stinks that you didn't get to try FP+ :crazy2: My in-laws weren't able to participate either, so I really saw how much of a difference having FP+ really made.

Day #6 Continued…
When I left off, the kids had had a blast driving around the speedway :drive: and we found ourselves in the middle of Tomorrowland.

Our priority for the afternoon was to ride Buzz Lightyear’s Space Rangers Spin.

The posted time for the standby line was longer than we wanted to wait so we headed over to the Fastpass machines.

I’m glad that I got a pic of this since it was our FIRST and LAST time using one of these!

R.I.P. paper Fastpasses

So what should we do while we waited for our FP window? I spotted the TTA Peoplemover and suggested that we try it.

My mom and Joe didn’t remember ever riding it… so I think it was a first for everyone!

Donovan’s best robot impression.

We were definitely in need of a little break so this would be the perfect ride! There was no wait, so at the top of the escalator, the 7 of us squeezed into one car and off we went on our little tour of Tomorrowland.

Here’s my failed attempt at photographing Cinderella’s castle, lol.

Such a relaxing ride! My feet were thanking me. After the ride, we still had some time before we could use our Buzz FPs, so we found a quiet bench and took a little rest. It had been a long, hot day and we were all starting to fade fast…

The kids found a CM to do some pin trading with.

Pretty soon it was 2:45, so we got in the FP line for BLSRS.

Umm, yes, my score was AWFUL!!!! I wouldn’t have come anywhere close to defeating Zurg!

I blame it on a faulty gun…. or maybe I just have a faulty aim! Hahahaha It did take me awhile to catch on and then I had a hard time figuring out which little red dot was mine.

And it’s a good thing I don’t get motion sickness because Donovan was having a great time spinning our space cruiser.

Was it fun? Yes. Did we absolutely LOVE it? Eh, probably not. Could be because everyone was pooped out. So we decided to make our way out of the park.

On our way, Joe stopped in Starbucks for some much needed caffeine, my mom took Donovan into the Firehouse to pick up a pack of SOTMK cards, and I stopped at the end of Main Street with the girls to catch a little of the Celebrate a Dream Come True parade. I’m a little sad now that we didn’t pick a good spot to enjoy the whole parade since it’s final performance was back in January.

continued in next post

We said goodbye to my mom and that we would see her later that night and then we took the ferry back to the TTC.

Ah, sunset point… this update is just full of things that no longer exist. (…and it’s only been a few months since our trip)

You can see the higher fencing that they had put up during the week for the start of DVC construction.

We always saw a ton of these little guys scurrying around on our walks from the TTC back to the Poly.

We relaxed and hung out in the room until about 6:00. I’m thinking that Bronwyn and Jorie took a little nap. Isla would not settle down enough to fall asleep even though she needed a nap in the worst way. I did a load of wash (a couple of us were down to our last few pairs of underwear!) and then I stopped over at Captain Cook’s to see what snacks I could find. I picked out a Pina Colada cupcake and some self-serve Dole-whip which I took back to the room for everyone to share. I have a major sweet tooth, I won’t lie.

We all got freshened up, and then we headed back to the TTC and hopped onto the Epcot monorail.

Love the monorail ride through Epcot. Getting a glimpse of the park makes it so much more exciting!

We stopped for a PP pic in front of the Food & Wine Festival sign, since that was the plan for the night! I had really been looking forward to checking out all of the International food booths!

See, someone really did need a nap!

We met my mom in front of the Innovations building, and we were just in time to catch the Disney VISA meet and greet before they closed. (I’m pretty sure our PP pics were time stamped with 6:59 and the building closed at 7)

My mom showed her Disney VISA card, and we were then allowed inside the Disney Rewards Photo Place. We walked right in and up to the characters since no one else was around. Although, I think that they only take one party into the room at a time anyway, so it’s really nice and private.

Which of the Fab 5 would we get to meet?

Minnie & Pluto!!

It was a great M&G, and we weren't rushed at all despite being so close to their closing time. All of the photos were added onto my PP+ card and we were also given a voucher for a free 5x7 (which we didn’t use) If you are a Disney Visa cardholder, I would definitely recommend checking out this M&G. It has such an adorable background too!

Joe sent his parents a text to find out what they were up to. They were waiting in line for Soarin’ and they said that they would meet up with us after their ride. The sky was starting to look a little dark, so we high tailed it to our next stop. We let Joe’s parent know that we were headed to the Mexico pavilion.

continued in next post

It was time for some…

Mexican It’s a Small World, er I mean… Grand Fiesta Tour

The CMs here were too funny. They LOVED the girls’ Ariel dresses and they started serenading us with “Under the Sea” as our boat sailed away.

Wouldn't it be awesome to eat at San Angel and sit at one of those tables right along the railing? It would be fun to watch all of the boats go by.

I really loved this ride. And to make it even better, the CMs started singing to us again as we returned.

Sadly, we didn’t have time to really stop & look around the Mexico pavilion since we really wanted to get started “wining & dining” around the world.

Donovan asked the CM at the Kidcot station to sign his Passport and then we headed outside. Thankfully it was not raining, like we thought it may be.

By this point, the kids were starving so we went right across to La Cantina de San Angel. My mom was leaving early the next morning and she had some leftover dining credits that she offered to use on the kids’ dinners.

We ordered one of each:
Tacos de Carne - smoked beef brisket tacos served on fresh handmade corn tortillas with Pico de Gallo, lime and corn tortilla chips

Tacos de Pollo - grilled chicken served on fresh handmade corn tortillas with Pico de Gallo, lime and corn tortilla chips

Nachos - corn tortilla chips with ground beef, nacho cheese, fresh tomatoes, jalapenos, black beans, and sour cream

The tacos ended up being too spicy for the kids, so we went back up and ordered the Kid’s Meal Chicken Tenders for them which they really enjoyed. Joe ate most of the tacos and said that they were really tasty.

We then set out on our way and continued heading “left” around world showcase. Joe texted his parent to see where they were since we hadn’t heard from them, and they answered that they were in Ireland. WHAT? That was on the total opposite side. It was their last night in Disney and they hadn’t even tried to find us??? Maybe they had had enough of us, haha. When you're used to having peace & quiet, being around 4 kids can be a bit much! Joe wanted to turn around and try to catch up to them. I was not in favor of that idea, but Joe thought that the kids would be upset if they didn’t get to see them before they left. So ....we turned around. :crazy2: I felt like we were going to be rushing to get to them and not going to be able to enjoy the whole F&W experience. Ugh!!!

We did stop at some booths on the way and everything we tried was really good. And my mood did improve once I started eating.

Joe tried a Kalua Pork Slider with Sweet and Sour Dole Pineapple Chutney and Spicy Mayonnaise from the Hawaii booth -which he really liked. My first pick was the Dessert Trio from the Desserts & Champagne booth (what’s better than starting off with dessert, right?)

Chocolate Orange Cupcake, Hazelnut Chocolate Cheesecake, and Morello Cherry Pistachio Mousse

I’m not a big orange fan, so I took a bite of the cupcake and gave the rest to Joe. It wasn’t bad- just not something that I would normally eat. The cherry Pistachio mousse was a really interesting combination and I really enjoyed it. The hazelnut chocolate cheesecake was definitely my favorite of the three. So yummy!

My mom got a Frozen S’mores which she LOVED! I tried some and it was awesome.

Our next stop was the Canada booth. We had to try the very popular:
Cheddar Cheese Soup and “Le Cellier” Wild Mushroom Beef Filet Mignon with Truffle Butter Sauce.

Both were out of this world! And we actually went back up for seconds!

We had finally made it to the Ireland booth and where were my in-laws? On the complete opposite side of the lagoon, at the Poland booth.
Yeah …maybe they were trying to avoid us! Although I think it was a total lack of communication, they probably didn't know that we were trying to catch up to them.

Joe ordered a Lobster and Seafood Fisherman’s Pie which was another great pick.

The next booth was France. While my mom stood in line to order, Joe and I got some PP pics.

Bronwyn was the only one still awake...

but she was looking very sleepy.

Joe had decided to be adventurous and try the Escargots Persillade en Brioche. And I had the Crème Brulee au Chocolat au Lait. Yum!

And I couldn’t leave the Food & Wine Festival without having an alcoholic beverage, so I had to try an Eiffel Sour Cosmo Slush.

Soooo good!

Before we knew it, Illuminations was starting so we found a spot on the bridge in front of France. Not the best location because there were some trees blocking our view but it would have to do.

That night’s Eat to the Beat concert had been the Go-Go’s! I had really hoped that we would make it over to see one of their shows, but it just wasn’t in the cards. So much to do and so little time.

As Illuminations ended, and we were walking toward the exit....who came up behind us? Joe’s parents. But by now all of the kids were asleep and the park was closing. :( We talked about all of the fun different foods that we had tried as we made our way back to the front gates. Then we said our goodbyes. My mom had an early morning flight back to Newark and my in-laws had an early afternoon flight back to Philly. It was so nice that they were able to share in all of the magic of the kids' first WDW trip! I was sad to see them go, but in a way, I was a little relieved that we would be on our own. For the next three days we could come and go as we pleased and not have to figure out meeting times/places and no more worrying about if we were doing something that everyone else wanted to do, etc… maybe some of the stress would be lifted off my shoulders.

We took the monorail back to the TTC and made our way back to our room. And that wraps up Day #6.

Just found your TR and I am really enjoying it! Your kiddos are so cute and I love their outfits! Especially the good fairy costumes, LOVE them!

We are going in Sept and your Tr is gettin me even more excited!
And going back this year, how fun!
Can't wait to read more!

I just found your TR and I am really enjoying it! Your family is beautiful! I am a designer, and as I'm reading this, I am recognizing so many of my designer friends things! :) Can't wait to read on!

Now see there ya go. You arrive at a ride and the wait time is long so you grab a Fastpass. I'm going to miss that so much! Oh but wait, I do have this trusty FP+ for this other ride that has a 5 minute wait. :headache:

PEOPLEMOVER!!!!! You cannot go wrong with the Peoplemover.

:lovestruc the lizards. They are my official mascot of Florida.

Honestly, I don't know that there's a better restaurant for atmosphere than San Angel, other than maybe BOG.

Oh Man, I'd LOVE to see the Go Go's.

The food sounds delish!

Those Ariel dresses are awesome! Last night my daughter pointed at her Ariel doll's chest and said, "what is this?" I just told her sea shells! :)

Do you mind telling me what sort of fabric Jorie's Cinderella dress is made from? I've done one in satin, but I don't know if that's best in the park. Jorie's looks to have a little more structure than just straight cotton though. Thanks! :)

okay, I didn't write comments as I read, so I hope I remember everything lol!

Looks like things were a little on the tired side leaving MK, I do have to say, I'm not good at, nor do I really enjoy the buzz ride, I'm just horrible at it and the laser "noise" gets annoying after a while, hahaha!

The peoplemover though, always perfect, it's just always the right thing to do!!

Awwe, man, just LOOKING at those parade pictures I'm all "wow, old photos, old floats, old parade" and it hasn't even been closed that long. Luckliy though, the new one is looking GREAT (and they just had their first overnight rehearsal last night!! :faint: lol)

THAT'S where Sunset point is! bahahahaha, I knew it was one of the places I had been intriged about wedding wise but couldn't remember where it was…makes sense though!

LOVE the Ariel dresses, those are super cute!!

Awwe, someone definitely did need a nap!!

Awesome experience with the cm's in mexico!! Glad you were able to use the extra food credits too!

UGH food and wine!! I cannot WAIT! I got all excited again remembering they have food booths up for flower & garden and i'll actually be in Epcot this year for that! YUM!

Hi, new subscriber! I actually found your TR over the weekend and read it start to finish, glad to see some new updates today! I have a 6 year old dd and I always love finding a new TR featuring kids her age :) Your children are beautiful, by the way :goodvibes

Do you mind sharing the designer of your girls' Little Mermaid dresses (with the shell bikini tops) that they were wearing for your F&W night at Epcot? I have loved looking at all of their outfits, but these take the cake (so far)! Thanks!

I should have read to the end of your update, because I have something else I wanted to comment on...and actually I meant to comment on this very topic when I was doing my massive "catch up" over the weekend:
Big extended family trips vs immediate family trips.

There are so many pros and cons! Our first trip (2011) was just me, dh and dd (3 at the time). It was so much fun and so the next year, our moms both came along as well as a friend of ours. This added different types of fun but also different stresses. We actually all shared a 2BR villa so there were no meet up times, but a lot of waiting for everyone to be ready. It's hard to get 6 people out the door at once (wait, you are a family of 6, who am I telling? ha!). But my point is that it's easier to get yourselves and your own child(ren) out the door vs coordinating other people as well. The two big pluses are pretty obvious: sharing a wonderful vacation with even more loved ones (seeing Disney through your kids eyes is great, seeing Disney through your parents eyes as they watch their grandchildren is another level of magic!), and built in babysitting! It's just nice to have an extra set of hands along! My mom would often take my dd back to the room at night when they were both getting tired, and it left the younger set of adults free to roam the parks for a couple extra hours.

You will love your immediate family only trip! It's a whole different world. Your schedule, your preferences, no worries about making sure everyone is having fun. :)
