It's official! The Wisconsin Badgers are going to the Rose Bowl and so are we :cool1:! I have my airfare booked, the Anaheim Hilton booked and my car rental in place. We already had everything set for WDW (including a DVC studio which is now on the rental board) and the cost to cancel the whole WDW segment is too expensive so we're going to WDW for a few days and then to Tampa to see family and then flying into SNA.

We have WDW APs for the first few days and then we have 10-day park hoppers from our last Aug Free Dining trip. I plan on activating them on 12/20 at WDW and then start using them at Disneyland on 12/28 or 12/29 (depending on family obligations in LA). I have heard that people can use Non-Expiry WDW park hoppers at DL. What about expiring PH? I am considering putting the non-Expiry option on the passes along with Water Parks & More but it's REALLY expensive! With the added expense of the Rose Bowl Parade and Game tickets for three people I don't think we can afford it.

Yay ~ wow that's a lot of Disney, you'll have a great time. I have no experience with using WDW tix at DLR sorry...

If the tickets are still valid at WDW they will be honored as the same "kind" at DLR.

So a PH for WDW gets a PH at DL/DCA. It won't help to have non expiring since you will make it while they are still good.

Are you going to make use of the WP&M benifit? It's only worth it if you go to the water parks and more more than once. It won't help at DLR.

I would suggest though is going to DL post Rose Bowl. It will lift you spirits after watching the Badgers loose. ;)

 You're funny. Actually, we will be on the red-eye back home out of LAX that night.

Is this is a "well that's it for a year or more, we can't do afford to go back to either DL or WDW"....or do you think that you'll be back to one or the other again in 2011?

Reason I ask....a 10 day WDW PH with no-expire and water parks is $583.00

The PREMIER annual passport gives you 365 days on both coasts, DL and WDW. It costs $700. That's only $117 more to give you an AP to BOTH parks. If you're planning to go to either one for more than like 2 days in 2011 then it's actually cheaper.

Plus the Premier has has extra perks (invites to members only events, etc) that the regular APs don't have.

Whatever you decide to do, have a wonderful time!

$2100 in park tickets would give my DH a conniption fit! The only reason why I am thinking about buying the non-expiry option is so we can have 10 visits to the waterparks as we usually buy regular DVC APs. I'm using 4-5 days in WDW (12/20 - 12/23 or 12/24) and then 3-4 days in DL (12/28 or 12/29 - 12/31).

We ended up with some left-over DVC points (and may have more in holding :sad2:) so we might have a return trip to WDW in the works for June or July before my DVC points expire. I'm just not sure but if I buy non-expiry and keep us down to 7 days on the 10-day pass we could fit in another short trip on the passes in the summer. BUT ... making the pass into a Premier pass costs us a whole lot more and then we don't have the water park Pluses to use in the next few years.

If you already HAVE the 10 day PH tickets for WDW then you can upgrade them to Premier AP's while at WDW. Not sure how much the 10 day PH are worth, but you'd only pay the difference between that price and $700.
The Premier also gets you into the water parks, Disney Quest, etc which would be nice to have for a full year. :thumbsup2

Ok, I actually have experience with this, the least hassle would be to upgrade to premier passes while at WDW, you then get park hopping, all of the premium pass benefits on both coasts, etc.

However to answer your question:
If you have a park hopper WDW Ticket, you get a park hopper DL ticket. (It must still be valid, but does not have to have the non-expiration option)

If it is a non parkhopper ticket, then you will get a non park hopper ticket at DL.

Please note that only the front gate at either park can do anything with the tickets, the ticket taker will have to call a supervisor who will then physically take the tickets into the back and confirm that they have days left on them and are still valid. I have had this process take from 5-30 minutes, just a heads up.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I don't want a Premier AP. I don't think we'll use it enough to make it worthwhile. We will per 100% fine in December with our 10-day PH and our next definite trip is not planned until December 2011. The Non-Exp option will give me at 5 -10 years of water parks and not just 12 months. In addition, my DH does not want to go to WDW in the summer if we can help it. He would rather go somewhere else and frankly, so would I.

We'll have to do this every morning? Or can they convert 3 days from my WDW PH to a DL PH?

Last time i did this You have to do it every morning, it is easier if you have WDW separate them from your room key though as some think that the dates on your room key are the only dates that the tickets are valid. This will speed up the process as well. You can always ask.

I used a WDW PH ticket at DL in September. It took like 5 minutes at the gate, and was a piece of cake. Of course, I picked a VERY slow day to do it. It might take longer as you are going during one of the busiest times of year at DL.

Check the math on those WP&M days.
It is $272 for the add on plus the no expire. Plus tax. You could add the wp&m option to five tickets for the same price.

That also means you are paying $27 a day per admission.

If you use 1 time per trip, that is a savings. Twice breaks you even. Any time you use more than 2 in a trip you overpaid for it.

If you will have days left you need to add the no-expire option for it makes more sense. If you are positive you would never use 3 entries in one trip, and two is unusual it is worth considering, but really saves you very little unless you use it once each trip over ten trips. If you go once a year you are spending $220 now to see a savings in six years.

Locking in todays prices vs. spending money today you do not have to (lost oppertunity cost) is always a wash in my considerations.

One PAP might be worthwhile for the free parking and other discounts, depending on details.
