BFFs Deluxe it Up in WDW! w/ PICS! - Wolfgang Puck Cafe - COMPLETED!! :)

OH, I'm looking at the Minnie caramel and cake pop -- before bfast!!! I think my blood sugar just went through the roof! Awesome pics!!! THANKS!!:yay:

Snacks (Part 2)

All of these snacks were on the DDP.

Magic Kingdom: Aloha Isle

DOLEWHIP!! Pineapple Juice Float with Vanilla Soft serve
ry%3D400

No review necessary! ;)

Magic Kingdom: Confectionery

Mickey Mouse Cake Pops (Chocolate and Vanilla)
ry%3D400

I reviewed these in the previous Snacks post. We wanted to try the other two flavors (we had previously tried red velvet cake). These were all good. I actually think chocolate is my favorite!

Magic Kingdom: Main Street Bakery

Walnut Brownie... and a missing cherry danish!! :lmao:
ry%3D400

Yeah, so I totally ate that danish that is in that big missing space! It was DELICIOUS! The walnut brownie was DBFF's and she LOVED it. The brownie was moist.

Cinnamon Roll!!!
ry%3D400

I bow down to the cinnamon roll gods who created this! This was so stinking good it's criminal! First of all, it's HUGE and when they serve it to you, they pile on top all of the icing that was on the hot plate underneath your roll! Then I put it in the clamshell and we went out to bus stop to back to POFQ for a break. Let me tell you, I ate this before I even got onto the bus it was so good! They had these available every time we went in the bakery (which was morning noon and night throughout the trip!) and everything in that bakery always seemed so fresh and yummy! Hit up that bakery on Main Street, people!

Magic Kingdom Ice Cream Cart

Mickey Head Cookies and Cream Sandwich
ry%3D400

This is very much like an ice cream Oreo sandwich if you've ever had one. Definitely hits the spot on a hot day!

SNACKS WITHOUT PICTURES:
-Cherry Turnover from Starring Rolls Care at DHS - this was HUGE, flaky, with a wonderful cherry filling. We went to Starring Rolls several times during our trip and loved everything we got there. I recommend that place!
-Beignets from POFQ Food Court - I love these! You must, must, MUST eat them right away and not let them sit in a clamshell. They will be come soggy and not good in two second flat. But if you take these right over to a table and dig in, you're in for a treat! Not a super sweet treat, but very good!

NOTE: We got a few beverages, etc. for snacks so I'm pretty sure if you were counting, I haven't showcased every snack credit used. In fact, we were given the cake pops for free because the CM said we were celebrating and congrats! So technically we had more snacks than anticipated!!

I created a "Snack Wishlist" for each of us based on location (park, resort, DTD, etc.) and then when we were in that location and we would pass a spot on the wishlist, we would go SNACK TIME! And go get it. We also would get snacks on the way OUT of the park when we left for a break to eat in the room or later that night. I believe that's how we enjoyed all of our snacks and didn't waste a single one!

Kona Cafe (B)

I was SO excited to FINALLY eat breakfast at Kona Cafe! And boy was I glad I did. First of all, I love the set up of this restaurant where it's open to the lobby of the Poly. We sat right next to the railing and it was wonderful to people watch!

DBFF and I finally got to try some Lilikoi Juice - passion fruit, orange and guava blend $4.19
ry%3D400

DBFF's Macadamia Pineapple Pancakes - with macadamia nut butter, pineapple sauce and your choice of ham, bacon or sausage $9.99
ry%3D400

DBFF loves macadamia nut ANYTHING so she loved this! And of course she was happy to get some bacon!

TONGA TOAST (w/ fruit cup subbed in place of meat option)
ry%3D400

INSIDE TONGA TOAST
ry%3D400

If you are reading this, there is no way that Tonga Toast is new and needs to be showcased again. But I will tell you right now that this was AWESOME. Use the strawberry sauce they give you. YUM! I am in love and plan to eat this AGAIN during my next trip.

Kona ROCKS! :thumbsup2

Agreed on Tonga Toast - without the strawberry compote, it's a lot less enjoyable to me. And the macadamia-pineapple pancakes are awesome too! :goodvibes

Pinocchio Village Haus (L)

So what's up with Pinocchio Village Haus changing their pizzas? I get that they want to go "healthier" with flatbreads, but... Well, let me not get ahead of myself.

I love the look of this restaurant as well as the location. As a result, I always find myself there each Disney vacay.

DBFF and I both got the Pepperoni Flatbread - $8.59
ry%3D400

Well, this was just not good. Crust was dry. Toppings didn't even cover the flatbread. It just was so blah.

With the DDP, you get a dessert. We decided to try both of their gelato options.

Chocolate Gelato
ry%3D400

This tasted like chocolate fudge pops pretty much. We finished this together. Perfectly fine QS dessert.

No Sugar Added Mango
ry%3D400

If I remember properly, I'm pretty sure DBFF said this about the gelato: "It tastes like baby food." :lmao: How's that for a review? I'm pretty sure that's a BAD thing, so I'll leave it at that.

I think I've been inspired to try new QS options at the Magic Kingdom from now on! :sad2:

Thank you very much for the snack tour!! It is helpful to know your take on each of those treats. :thumbsup2

As for Kona....your DBFF had my all time favorite breakfast!! :p Now that flatbread at Pinocchio Village Haus looks like they were being creative with their pepperoni design. That's just an odd look. :confused3

That is a very odd looking flatbread. Almost like the toppings shifted when someone put in in the oven? But the lines of pepperoni are weird too. Too bad the flavor didn't make up for it :confused3

Seriously...you are killing me with the Tonga Toast (even though I never had it), Dole Whip float and the Minnie Mouse apple.
I am 32 weeks pregnant with twins, and I have literally had dreams about the Minnie Mouse apple and the Dole Whip float. :lmao:

Thanks for your reviews!

That is the saddest flat bread I have ever seen!

And the no sugar added mango treat...my DH would have loved that...he really enjoys Gerber's Peach baby food lol

Wolfgang Puck's Cafe (D)

Before my last review, I would like to thank everyone who's been lurking on my post, who posted their thoughts and thanks, and for Disney World for giving me yet another magical trip! I love doing dining reviews. I use DISers dining reviews to plan my trip, and I am so happy to possibly help others plan their trip! :grouphug: Again, THANKS!

On our last night at WDW, we went over to DTD once again. I love Wolfgang Puck's Cafe (I went there during a trip in '09), and this second visit did not disappoint. It doesn't get a lot of reviews on the boards here, but I always make a point of heading on over there during a trip!

In fact, when we arrived back in Ohio and my parents asked DBFF what her favorite meal was, and she said "Wolfgang Puck's!"

They brought out the bread basket.
ry%3D400

This bread was AWESOME! I actually remember us trying to figure out what flavor it was. Maybe someone on here knows, but all I know is it was delicious. And our waiter kept offering us more bread, and we said NO! because we know we would fill up on it so easily!

NOTE: On the DDP, you can get smoothies and specialty non-alcoholic drinks for your drink!

Appetizers

DBFF's Endive Salad
ry%3D400

This was just fresh and delicious! Endive salads aren't common (because they tend be pricier!) so she was so happy they had this. Look at all that cheese, nuts, and sliced tart apples! She devoured this and I had a few bites!

My Tortilla Soup - With goat cheese ad crispy tortillas - $6.95
ry%3D400

I love this soup! When I went in '09, I got this and just thought it was so stinkin' good! So I had to get it again. That white blob is goat cheese and you mix it all in that hearty soup (it's almost like a chili kind of texture but completely meatless and had a definitely spicy flavor) and the crunch of the tortilla strips just makes this a winner!

Entrees

DBFF's Macadamia Nut Crusted Breast of Chicken - Panko and Macadamia nut crusted boneless breast of chicken, sho-yo cream, spice and garlic mashed potatoes - $27.95
ry%3D400

This was her favorite entree on the whole trip. She LOVED anything macadamia nut, so when she saw this, she was like YES PLEASE! You may note though, that there really aren't any side dishes with this. She was fine with that (we are eating 3 courses) but she just thought it was weird that there wasn't like a veggie or something. But the chicken itself was definitely something she loved.

My Margherita Pizza - Mozzarella cheese, roma tomatoes, basil - $13.95
ry%3D400

Now you may think I'm crazy for ordering pizza at a place that has a billion menu options, but I really wanted to try something that Wolfgang Puck was known for. This delivered. It was just delicious and I ate pretty much the whole thing with help from DBFF.

Desserts

DBFF and my Florida Key Lime Pie - Swiss meringue with a buttery graham cracker crust - $7.95
ry%3D400

I don't need the dessert menu; I'm getting the key lime pie! This is THE BEST key lime pie on Disney property, I am convinced. Now if someone can correct me, bring it on, because this is tart delicious creamy pie, with a buttery crust, and light meringue on top with mango and raspberry sauce on the side! YUM! If you like Key Lime pie, GET THIS!

Such a shame you review is at an end it's been a pleasure to read along
Thanks for taking the time to share with us all :goodvibes

What a way to finish your reviews. I love Wolfgang Puck Cafe but, unfortunately, the resot of my family doesn't. I really don't understand it because, in my opinion, we have always had awesome food and service here. My only regret is that I have ordered the Key Lime Pie twice and only ended up eating literally a bite each time since I have been too full. Honestly, here is what it looked like when I was done...

FloridaAug07649.jpg

Thanks for your excellent reviews, I truly have loved them. I have been lucky enough to visit WDW with my BFF and had a ball. Hope you get back soon :)

Congrats on the completion of a great dining report! Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with us. :thumbsup2

Seriously, Thank YOU for sharing your reviews with us! That key lime pie does look heavenly! But I have to say that the endive salad with the pecans and apple slices looks really wonderful!! Glad you guys enjoyed your WP meal. I've not eaten there so I'll need to rectify that - even if it is only at the Express location. :)

Thanks so much - I've really enjoyed reading your dining reviews! I haven't been to Wolfgang Puck Cafe in 3 years, but I tried some of the macadamia chicken (when my mom ordered it) and I really liked it. The key lime pie sounds wonderful. :goodvibes
