BFFs Deluxe it Up in WDW! w/ PICS! - Wolfgang Puck Cafe - COMPLETED!! :)

Now I want a Mickey Waffle for breakfast, but sadly not an option for me here in London

Yeah!! Glad you got the photos fixed! I always love hearing good reviews of Citricos as it was one of our FAVORITE restaurants in '09!!

Sci-Fi Dine In (L)

This was my second time going to Sci-Fi. I love it for lunch! I like that it's dark and cool and a great break from the heat! I know the food is never anything stellar (it gets lukewarm reviews on here), but if you stick to the sandwiches and shakes, you are in for a good meal!

Drinks

We called today the DAY O'MILKSHAKE because we went to both Sci-Fi and 50's Primetime Cafe and both of those have milkshakes on the DDP! Now today was a SCORCHING day, so a milkshake was DIVINE!

My Oreo Milkshake
ry%3D400

I tried to bring the straw out so you could see how THICK this was. It was like spoonable milkshake (which was so what I wanted!) This was just awesome and I ate the whole thing!

Appetizers

DBFF's BLT Soup - A creamy tomato basil soup, topped with herb crouton, shredded lettuce and bacon $6.99
ry%3D400

She thought this was good, because it was basically tomato soup with bacon and lettuce! She loved that this had lettuce in it. I think it's weird but, to each his own! I didn't try this so, judge for yourself if this looks good!

My Crispy Onion Rings - with horseradish dipping sauce $8.49
ry%3D400

For me, I am either in the mood for onion rings or I'm not. Today, I was in the mood! I took one bite of these and was like OKAY and ate the whole thing! These were just crunchy and hot. Also, the batter wasn't too thick and the onion didn't slide out! A great choice if you like onion rings!

Entrees

DBFF's Angus Chuck Burger - flame broiled beef patty topped with cheddar or Swiss cheese, sauteed mushrooms, and crispy bacon, lettuce and vine-ripened tomatoes, served with a choice of cucumber salad or french fries $14.99
ry%3D400

Unfortunately, DBFF asked for this with no mushrooms (which they said they could do), and it came with a pile of mushrooms on it! She decided not to send it back, but just scraped them off but lost most of the her cheese. She liked it otherwise. Here's the thing, when you're on the DxDP, you know there's always more food, so if you're not crazy about something, just move on and wait for the next course! :thumbsup2

My Grilled Chicken Sandwich - With watercress, vine-ripened tomatoes, mayonnaise, and drizzled with balsamic vinegar on a caraway salted bun, served with a choice of cucumber salad or fries $14.99 (No MAYO)
ry%3D400

Juicy, tender, nice toppings, yummy! The balsamic gave it a little punch of flavor and it was a great choice for me. But HUGE! It started falling apart, so once you put it down, prepare for it to collapse!

Desserts

DBFF's Apple Crumble $7.99
ry%3D400

She took a bite and said "MMM!" We had just had MASSIVE cupcakes at Starring Rolls not long before this meal, so we had done the whole red velvet cake cheesecake deal and chocolate cake. So she was happy to get this for a change. She ate the whole thing!

My Hot Fudge Sundae - vanilla ice cream with hot fudge, whipped cream and a cherry $6.99
ry%3D400

Okay, so I know you might be thinking, Oreo milkshake then an ICE CREAM SUNDAE? It's insane, I know, but it was so great to eat ice cream on that hot day! Plus, I split it with DBFF who wanted both the apple crumble and the ice cream so I got this to share. I didn't finish it, but I love hot fudge so I was glad to get a few bites of that.

I for one was definitely not judging you for the milkshake AND hot fudge sundae!! :rotfl: Hey, I would be perfecctly happy with the cheesecake with a brownie sundae chaser! :cool2:

I'm so looking forward to a burger at Sci-Fi but I think I forgot how expensive they are! $15 for a burger - ugh! But you do get a movie with the deal!

Great photos and review!

When else do you have giant cupcakes, milkshakes and ice cream sundaes all in one day? That's what vacation is for!::yes::

My FRIED FREAKIN' WONTONS OF YUMMINESS-BEST-DESSERT-EVER-YOU-MUST-EAT-THIS-I-WANT-IT-RIGHT-NOW!!!!!!!!!
ry%3D400

Okay.... so during every Disney trip, you will have piece of food that you dream about, that you wish you had right now in front of you, that will keep you coming back for more year after year. These fried wonton babies are DA BOMB DOT COM!

Take one of these wontons and a piece of the hot pineapple, smear it in the honey glaze and take a bite. While you're enjoying, put a cold slice of strawberry in your mouth and you have a mouthful of HEAVEN! I cannot tell you how much I loved this dessert.

Oh right, I can prove it.

Post fried wontons plate:
ry%3D400

DBFF: "The ice cream stands alone!" :rotfl: Who needs ice cream with this!!!!

I die :tilt:[/QUOTE]

I cannot agree more! I LOVE THEM! I wish they had them at the CS Yak & Yeti....I'd buy about 10 orders of them.

Epcot Alcoholic Drinks

I had all the ambitions to "drink around the world" but I didn't get ALL the drinks I planned. That's okay though, because I had plenty! DBFF and I split most of these drinks. It was a party all around!

Margarita from Mexico (p.s. this was 11am! Hey, I'm on vacay!)
ry%3D400

See that devilish grin? You gotta get the FIESTA version so you get all 3 flavors! YUM! (But if you only want one, the lime is divine!)

Grey Goose Slushie from France
ry%3D400

I LOVE this drink! It's the most refreshing thing! I remember we got this in France right before we had lunch at Les Chefs de France. We sat by the fountain and sipped away! It was pretty much heaven!

Peach Bellini in Italy
ry%3D400

We got THIS right before we went to dinner at Via Napoli! This is a sparkly, peachy drink that I love! DBFF said, I could drink way too many of those! This was her favorite drink!

Wine Flight in Germany (only $9!)
ry%3D400

I was so glad I found out about this little gem of a deal before I got to the World! The 3 that I chose were the apple wine, the dessert wine, and the ice wine. We liked all 3 of these! Our favorite was the dessert wine! I think it's cute how the tray shows you were these wines come from in Germany.

Tangerine Daiquiri from Morocco
ry%3D480

These are in the back of the QS restaurant in Morocco in a little drink station. They have 3 flavors of friuit slushies that they can booze up for you and turn them into daiquiris! I got this right before Illuminations and sipped through the show. It was pretty light on the alcohol, but still yummy and unique. It definite was Tangerine flavored and not orange.

What fun! Do you get to keep the map with the German wine flight? All the cocktails/drinks look awesome - especially the tri-color margarita! Ole!!!

What fun! Do you get to keep the map with the German wine flight? All the cocktails/drinks look awesome - especially the tri-color margarita! Ole!!!

It's actually printed right on the tray, so no.

But that would be pretty cool! I'm pretty sure you can buy all of those wines there too!

50's Primetime Cafe (D)

All I have to say is 50's Primetime Cafe is a LAUGH RIOT! I don't know if we were just lucky or what, but we were SURROUNDED by antics and were literally cracking up so hard. By the end of the dinner, we had TEARS rolling down our face from laughing. :lmao:

My DBFF was IN LOVE with the antics here (she really got into it!) Neither of us had been here before (and to be honest, I knew I was game for antics but wasn't sure if she would be into it). Uncle Dale was our waiter and from the time he dumped the plates and silverware on our table ("Come on, set the table, I don't have all day!" :rotfl:) he just kept it coming! Plus, there was a family behind us that was obviously new to the experience as well and Dale started interacting with both of us and it was just hilarious. I swear, we left that place with permanent grins on our faces.

There was another waitress for a table next to us and watching her interact with the family at that table was priceless and worth the price of admission.

But alas, on to the food...

Appetizers

DBFF's Aunt Annie's Seafood Salad - Lump Blue Crab, Bay Scallops, and Shrimp tossed in Citrus Vinaigrette served on seasonal Greens $9.99
ry%3D400

I don't eat crab and such, so I didn't try this, but DBFF loved it! She ate most of it and said it was delicious and fresh.

My Chicken Noodle Soup - Hearty mixture of chicken, vegetables, and egg noodles $6.49
ry%3D400

This was very flavorful and I ate the whole cup. I liked how the veggies and chicken were large and the broth had lots of flavor.

Entrees

DBFF's Grandma's Chicken Pot Pie - A creamy cheese mixture of chicken, mushrooms, carrots, celery, onions, and peas topped with a flaky pastry $17.99
ry%3D400

She was surprised how this had a "puff" on top instead a traditional crust but she loved it! She said she liked that she got more "crust" because of how big this pastry was. She ate quite a bit of this but it was a large portion.

My Aunt Liz's Golden Fried Chicken - served with mashed potatoes, chicken gravy and southern greens $16.99
ry%3D400

How could I go to 50's Primetime Cafe and not try the fried chicken? This lived up to all the hype! At the end of our meal, Uncle Dale (waiter) cut little pieces from our food and made us "feed" eachother (don't ask), but he had some problems finding a piece of chicken because I ate it all off! I'm not a big mashed potatoes fan and I don't eat bacon so I Didn't eat the collard greens, so I just ate the chicken. Which was PLENTY and delicious. Crispy, not greasy, what else can you ask for?

Desserts

DBFF's Ice Cream Sundaes $4.99
ry%3D400

She ordered the ice cream sundae with strawberry sauce. It was very good!

My S'mores $4.79
ry%3D400

Now, anyone who knows me knows that I love SMORES! And I love smores flavored things too. So when I saw this dessert on the DIS Boards I was like, This was made for me! Underneath the marshmallows is a layer of graham crackers, with a layer of milk chocolate on top of that then the marshmallows. So they're sort of like "open faced" smores. Kind of hard to eat, but SO GOOD. I ate the whole thing!

Glad you had a fun server! That chicken looks really, really good! I'm sure a lot of people are confused when they order the pot pie and it is served with the puff pastry - but it does look wonderful.

I would like to try the S'mores sometime. What a unique dessert.

Mmmm!! Love your meal!!!

I had an ADR for Prime Time because I wanted that meal! However I changed it to Hollywood Brown Derby for something new... now I want to change it back!! :rotfl2:

Can't wait to enjoy the Prime Time's Smores in November! Like you, I'm all about the graham cracker, chocolate, marshmallow combo! On my last visit, I discovered the Smores cupcake at the Roaring Fork at WL. DELISH!!!!!!!

That smores dessert looks pretty gosh darn yummy! We had an ADR for 50s PT for Dec, but I cancelled it and decided to hop over to Epcot for dinner. I guess I need to get to 50's PT on our next trip perhaps.

I've been a lurker until now, but it's time to come play! I've always wanted to eat at 50s Primetime. It looks so much fun! Maybe next trip....but you'll notice no ticker means I don't know when that's going to happen.

Great reviews and pics! I have a question though....every recent menu I have seen for 50's no longer shows the Chicken Pot Pie available. All the menus I've seen have it replaced with some sort of Tuna Casserole. When did you actually eat at 50's?
