I am really just venting my frustrations and wondering if this has happened to just me or if anyone else has experienced this...
On February 27, 2007 I purchased 2 adult 10 day park hoppers with no exp and one child's 10 day hopper with no exp.. I received a call from my credit card company just checking the purchase and they informed me that there were 3 charges for $1272.49 on my card. Disney ran the purchase through 3 times!!! (Yes- I only clicked the purchase button one time) I was horrified but I just called WDW ticketing and explained. They had shipped two sets of tickets to me but could not verify the third charge on my card. I returned the extra set of tickets and was credited for them but as of today April 15th I still have not received a credit for the third charge and WDW Ticketing is not being helpful to me what so ever. I have called, emailed and snail mailed letters, credit card statements etc. and I have been told by several ticketing agents that a supervisor would call me regarding the issue. No calls yet!!After all of this I have been soured on the Disney Company and it really bothers me to feel this way about a company I love so much. I know now that I will never make a purchase off their web site again.

If you haven't done so already, dispute the charge with your credit card company. They will be able to investigate the duplicate charge...but make sure to do it quickly because most cards have a 90 day limit on disputes.

Something like that has happened to me before, which is why I never purchase my tickets on line anymore. I won't even include it on my room charge when I reserve our hotel room on the Disney property. If I can't get the tickets in my hand befgore I go, we just purchase them at the hotel Guest Services desk. A few extra minutes of standing in line, beats fighting the online charges any day!

I agree you should definately put ina dispute with your credit card company. They shoudl be able to handle that for you.

I'm sure you'll have a great time when you get there! princess:

My cc, Bank of America, has a 60 day limit.
Also you paid waaay too much for your tickets so I'd look into returning all of them.
Undercover Tourist, using their link from Mousesavers newsletter, can give you the same thing for $1067.85 incl. all tax and shipping.
Good luck!!

I'm a web developer, and can tell you that a company the size of WDW is processing CC payments completely electronically, so any double or triple charge was caused by an error on the WDW web site, or in the credit card processing co's system (my bet is that it's WDW). Rest assured that there is not some poorly trained person at WDW running your card number through manually at whim. The card numbers are encrypted (auditors would absolutely require this), and those can only be decrypted by a key in the credit card processor's system.

Our company's web site takes credit card payments for freight bills, and we had a few double charges that could not be explained until we figured out that in each case the payment page (the one that usually says "don't press enter again, or refresh this page or press the back button") had been saved in the customer's browser history, and evidently the customers had been going back through their history and returned to the payment page a few days later and got charged again since all the payment information was stored in the browser history and got re-sent when they went back there -- also good reason why you should never save things in your browser history.

If you think there is ANY possibility that you might have re-visited the page by mistake, either through your history, or because you saved to your Favorites and returned there, be sure to mention this to whoever you have been in contact with at WDW. If this did happen, it is absolutely NOT your fault; it is possible that they failed to put safety checks into their code to prevent this from happening. It is extremely rare (we only saw it a handful of times over several years) but it can happen.

Send a letter to the FTC with copies of everything you have. Any kind of interstate commerce is (really) a federal case. Copy the letter to Disney. That'll get their attention.

Whenever anyone has a problem, after a reasonable amount of trying (and you are way past that) contact the appropriate governmental agency. We pay their salaries and this is what they are supposed to do for us. Usually, they do it pretty well. This goes for insurance, business transactions and almost anything else you can think of. There are commissions and agencies to cover almost anything.

I did call my credit card company and they are taking care of it for me. I was just giving Disney the opportunity to right the issue first.
In response to the undercover tourist comment, can I return the tickets that I have? I figured that once I bought the tickets it was a final sale. The UT site says the total is 1205.00 which is not much of a savings is there a mousesavers discount too?

It looks like uadisneyfan2 priced the wrong tickets. That 1067 doesnt include the park hopper option. The mousesaver link only saves about $5 over the price wdw71 came up with by looking at the regular undercover tourist price.

OMG! :sad2: so sorry to do that.. my bad
but I did go back and re-entered 2 ad, 1ch for 10 day hopper, no-exp and got a total of $1199.85
total savings: $72.64
this is a special link from Mousesavers newsletter comes out 15th of every month and "not allowed" to post links but anyone can sign up free at www.mousesavers.com

That is terrible that happened to you. I went right to my Disney store and the tickets were the same as on the WDW website, but I didn't have to pay shipping charges. I like to have the tickets in my hand before I go. ENjoy your trip!!:thumbsup2

I think their credit card system has some kinks. I heard on other boards of people getting double charged for resort reservations. :scared1:

I hope you get your issue resolved.

Thanks for all the tips, DIS folks! I would have been VERY unhappily surprised by the taxes on the tickets. There isn't a sales tax in my state and so normally I don't even look for it when I buy things online. I guess that since they are being used at WDW, they have to charge taxes on them. I'm all signed up for Mousesavers and ready to go, thanks to you all.:thumbsup2

Disney seems to have some website trouble in lots of areas. While the disney shopping site always seems to work, I had a few guests try to book rooms for my wedding off a link Disney sent out, and the reservations were never booked. Good thing I was paying attention! :)

hmm...much ado about nothing. Whenever I've had duplicate charges on my statement, my credit card company has always remedied the situation immediately. It's painfully obvious that you didn't spend $1272.49 3 times in a row on the same day. Any credit card company rep knows this.

I had a similar incident just happen last Friday. I was trying to make an online payment for my upcoming trip through WDW website...it said it did not go through (website was busy or something), PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER.
So I went ahead and called WDW to make my payment over the phone, the rep asked me if I was sure I wanted to do that, since she see's a fairly large payment was just made today.....:confused3
Good thing I didn't try online again because YES it would have gone through and charged me twice....
