Beware of Wal-Mart Alamo code at MCO!

fyi - we flew into orlando this morning. I used the wal-mart code with absolutely no problem. I did use the kiosk for check-in. Everything went as smooth as usual and no pressure to buy any extras.

nice, thanks for the update!!!!

Oh good...
Did you add an additional driver? I thought I read somewhere that you have to go to the counter to add a driver..

Also what happends if you make to ressies at the same place, but only use one? I have two Alamo ressies one with walmart and one without...do they put two and two together and charge your card for the other ressie..

I also read on another blog that Alamo is cracking down on code usage at certain locations, one of them being MCO. I guess their pinching their pennys and want to make sure everyone entitled is truly entitled, but this is such a generic code. I though I read somewhere else that the Latin code is very similar to the walmart code and it was creating some confusion..somethin about the Latin code being 430170 and walmart is 430710 something like that...I'm not positive though..I'm going to see if I can find it..

Maybe they realized that these two codes are becoming a problem because I mistakenly entered 430170 and got a "not a valid code" message. It would be so much smarter if they didn't let you book a code that you aren't entitled to - like a code from Latin America when you have a US address.

Just an FYI...

Jan 2008 we rented with Alamo, flight was 2 hours late (1am vs 11pm). I looked at the rental contract and it was for $50 more. The guy used some excuse since we were picking up on a different calendar day the prices change.

I showed him our confiramtion and he fixed all the prices, but if I didn't have it I don't know what would have happened!

Now I am just keeping my fingers crossed no isues at National using the Car and Driver rate on Mousesavers with an Enterainment coupon. Since I booked our mini van the rates have gone up over $550 for a 9-day rental!

You can add the extra driver information using SaveTime befor you depart for MCO. When you check in at the kiosk there is no additional information to enter. Just have both drivers licenses ready when you exit the garage.

I have many times used Walmart code (plus a coupon) at Alamo for MCO, no problems. Most recently in June. I use the kiosk.

We do put in extra driver at kiosk. First time I was worried it would charge the per day fee (which is free with the Walmart code) but nope. Touch screened: "add a driver", and kiosk requested swipe of second driver's license (same as primary driver) -- it went through, no charge, no problem.
